Hakeem Jeffries publicly slammed White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, calling her a “stone-cold liar” following the shocking shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Jeffries accused the administration of twisting Democratic rhetoric while ignoring actions by MAGA extremists, intensifying the already heated political divide. The clash comes as the White House defends its response to the attack, where a gunman attempted to target President Donald Trump and top officials during the high-profile Washington event. Leavitt has blamed rising political violence on inflammatory rhetoric, while Democrats push back, accusing the administration of hypocrisy. With both sides trading accusations, the fallout from the incident is rapidly escalating into a full-blown political showdown, raising concerns about deepening divisions and the future of political discourse in the U.S.

00:00Press Secretary wants to lecture America and lecture us about civility, get lost, clean up your own house.
00:08Leader, I know you said you stand by your comments at the same time you have been the subject of
00:13threats as well.
00:15So with respect to this comment about maximum warfare, even if it's about redistricting, why not tone down the language
00:22here in this moment?
00:23I think that what's interesting to me, as you pointed out, is that the so-called White House press secretary,
00:32who's a disgrace, he's a stone-cold liar,
00:36had the nerve to stand up there and read talking points, being critical of statements, all taken out of context,
00:45that Democrats have made and didn't have a word to say about anything that MAGA extremists have said or done,
00:54including providing aid and comfort to violent insurrectionists here at this Capitol on January 6th who brutally beat police officers.
01:05The president then pardoned those violent rioters, many of whom have gone back into communities across the country to re
01:16-offend.
01:18And as you pointed out, one of whom threatened to kill me.
01:23He said, kill the terrorists.
01:25Where did that language come from?
01:27What Republicans use that language?
01:30Why did that pardon MAGA extremists, violent insurrectionists, choose to use the language of terrorism directed at me when he
01:40threatened to kill me at an event?
01:43And so how can we take them seriously when they raise these partisan attacks and completely ignore the fact that
01:55a lot of folks,
01:56including Governor Shapiro, his home was attacked by an arsonist when he and his kids and wife were there?
02:08And this so-called White House press secretary wants to lecture America and lecture us about civility?
02:16Get lost.
02:17Clean up your own house before you have anything to say to us about the language that we use.
02:24Donald Trump and House Republicans have now shut down the Department of Homeland Security for more than 70 days
02:34because Donald Trump and Republicans want to continue to drive their extreme immigration agenda
02:42and violent mass deportation machine led by ICE down the throats of the American people.
02:49Several weeks ago, several weeks ago, a bill was sent over from the United States Senate that was supported by
02:56every single Republican and every single Democrat in the Senate.
03:01It's a bipartisan bill that has been languishing in the House of Representatives.
03:07We can bring that bill to the floor today, and it would fully fund the United States Secret Service.
03:15Why is Mike Johnson and House Republicans continuing to refuse to bring that bipartisan bill to the floor?
03:22That would fund TSA.
03:24It would fund the Secret Service.
03:26It would fund FEMA.
03:27It would fund the Coast Guard.
03:29And it would fund the cybersecurity professionals at the Department of Homeland Security who are working hard to keep us
03:36safe.
03:37Instead, it's House Republicans that continue to play partisan political games.
03:45If they really do believe we need to act swiftly, there's a vehicle to do it.
03:55And it would fund the Department of Homeland Security in its entirety, with the exception of ICE and the violent
04:07Republican mass deportation machine.
