04:24I got about eight witness statements.
04:28One of our witnesses said, hey, y'all should be having another suspect
04:32to show up at a hospital with a shot in his leg.
04:34Patrol checked nearby emergency rooms
04:36and found a man recently admitted with a gunshot wound to the leg.
04:43We're gonna bring him down.
04:44He will be transported to homicide once he's released by the hospital.

04:53He also has a ring doorbell there.
04:56Detectives find a security camera in the house,
04:59belonging to the mother of Farron's children.

11:11She says her friend had been at the house for half an hour when Farron and his friend first arrived.
11:40She says a short while later, Farron's friend left the house.
11:46We're all in the living room, and then he realized that his gun was missing.
11:50She says that her friend claimed that he couldn't find his gun.
11:55And so he asked Farron, like, hey, bro, you know where my gun is?
12:00And Farron was like, no, you know, help them look for it.
12:03You know, he just help them look for it.
12:05So then Farron called...
12:07She says Farron called his friend that left and demanded he return so they could search his car.
12:21She says minutes later, her sister arrived to pick up her children for the evening.
12:27Farron had kids, and he was putting them in the car.
12:31So Farron was putting the kids in your sister's car, right?

12:35I ran in the house to go get the diapers and the wipes.
12:39When I went outside, her car was gone.
12:41All the cars were gone, and Farron was on the ground, and everybody was gone.
12:46And it was just me and Farron.
12:50It sounds like to me why this happened is there was obviously people that got upset
12:55about a gun missing.
12:57And it sounds like it went south from there.

13:13So after we cleared the crime scene, a family member showed up and told us about a friend
13:18that was staying with her while Farron was in jail.
13:22The same person at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
13:28He walked out of Hillcrest.
13:30Officers caught him coming out.
13:31Officers took the friend into custody and are transporting him to homicide.
13:38Now he needs to come in and talk.

13:51I know honestly this has been going on since like 2 o'clock today.
13:55Detective Vernon McNeil interviews a neighbor who was outside at the time of the shooting.
13:59And they kept fighting.
14:00I believe it was over a stolen gun from what I could hear.
14:05While this is happening, this damn truck pulls up.

14:11They hopped out.

14:48He gets his gun in his hand.
14:49They're just acting hard at this point.
14:51And he points it at the victim.
14:53And the victim's like.

14:59They grabbed the guy.

15:06And the second one was cold blood, man.

15:11The first one dropped him.

16:07She says the man who was shot in the leg got into the black truck that had just shown up.
16:13I remember because of the guy who was a shooter.
16:15He was trying to get in the truck.

16:19He threw his hood off.
16:20He was wearing a camo hoodie.

16:27And then you could hear the screeching of the tires and they're gone.
16:36The black truck pulls up one of the backseat passers.

16:43And the dude, victim says, man, don't do this in front of my kid.
16:45And tries to swipe at the gun.
16:46And then he fires twice.
16:49The dude shoots twice at him.
16:51And one of the rounds went through and hits the kid with a gunshot wound.
16:57How did he get to the hospital?
16:58They loaded him up.
17:00So after the gunshots go off, the other guys grab the gunshot dude.
17:05Loading him up into the car.
17:06And they're yelling at the shooter, run.

17:09They load him up in the black truck and they take off.

17:17It's just chaotic with all the different moving parts.
17:20And had a lot of drama over guns and women.

17:25That turned into a murder-splash shooting.

30:42She gave us access to her ring account and so I was able to pull a whole bunch of video
30:48At 2 45 p.m. It shows a friend showing up to the residents with a child
31:00At 3 0 8 p.m. It shows Farron and his friend
31:04It shows them coming into the house carrying some kids
31:14And then you start to hear her and Farron kind of arguing
31:29And then it sounds like it's Farron and his other friend are talking back and forth
31:42They're talking about who has bodies and all this other stuff
31:504 27 p.m. Him and Farron are kind of talking
31:55Out in front of the car
31:57They're not yelling, it seems like they're just talking
32:00So the last recording is at 4 35 p.m.
32:05The shooting happens an hour after the ring stopped recording
32:11The ring bell video really didn't help out on the rest warrant
32:15But it did corroborate some of the statements that were taken from the witnesses
32:20Farron just got out of jail
32:22Went over to the house
32:23And she had a friend there
32:26And at some point
32:29Farron got into it with the friend
32:32I believe there was some jealousy that was involved
32:34But it may have been over also the gun that came up missing
32:38After the ring video
32:40The friend ended up calling his friends to come over to the house
32:43And when they got there
32:45Farron ended up getting killed in front of his kids
32:47And she was sitting there carrying his newborn baby to be
32:51So it's terrible

34:09Tulsa Homicide responded to the scene where 23-year-old Farron Cooper was found shot
34:15Learned that a man staying with the mother of Farron's children was shot and wounded
34:19After the two men had an argument
34:21Heard from a confidential informant
34:23That the shooter was a man named Q-Blood
34:25Also known as Quentin Caldwell
34:27And issued a warrant for Quentin's arrest
34:30But had been unable to find him
34:40Over the next several months
34:42The lady called me and said she thinks she saw him
34:45Homicide and the warrant squad continue to search for Quentin
34:55And turned to the public for help
34:57Tulsa police are still looking for the man they say shot and killed another man

36:56I'm a detective here at the Tulsa Police Department Homicide Unit.
37:00So, Quint, the reason you're here has to do with the murder of a guy named Farenkoop.
37:06I'm going to give you the opportunity to tell you one side of the story.
37:11I'm scared.
37:12This is, brother, this is a scary, this is a scary situation, man.
37:16Yeah, I'm scared.
37:18Okay.
37:19When Farenkoop was killed, were you there?
37:25Then who did?
37:27Because this is, right now...

37:30Pulled up in the truck.

37:48He says the man who had been staying at the house threatened Faren with a gun.
37:55He said he snatched a gun. Who did he snatch it from?

38:00And then once I finally got it back from him, I'm trying to leave.
38:04He's trying to get back in the truck, go sit down.

38:07I got hit over my head.
38:10He started tussling.
38:12Who were you tussling with?
38:13With Faren?
38:14Yeah.

38:17He grabbed the gun.
38:19He had basically full possession.
38:22And then we just got to tussling and we both fell and I guess the gun went off.
38:26And they hit him like right here.

38:29I got up and I ran.
38:33I got scared and I ran.
38:35He was standing and looking at me.
38:38Okay.
38:39How many times did the gun go off?
38:40Just once.
38:41Just once.
38:44I believe that there was a little fight, a little, you know, scuffle.
38:49But the independent witness said, you shot twice.
38:52Once in the leg.
38:54And then when Faren was on the ground, you shot him again.

38:59This gentleman said it was like an execution.
39:02This guy does not know you.
39:05I'm not no killer.
39:07I'm not that kind of person.
39:11It was self defense.
39:14He grabbed him.
39:15He came after me.
39:17He came after me.

39:25I think you made a terrible decision.
39:27Didn't want to do that.
39:28I'm not saying you did.
39:30But man, what it boils down to is nobody, nobody,
39:33there said you acted in self defense.

39:55You will have opportunities to still hold your babies
39:58and see your babies grow up.
40:03They'll know that they still have their dad.
40:11Faren's babies, they're never going to hug their dad again.
40:15He's not going to get them, watch them grow up.

40:38He's kind of trying to claim it was self defense.
40:40And nobody out there said it was in self defense.
40:43It's sad.
40:43I mean, when you bring a gun into a disturbance, it can go south.
40:48He did show a little bit of emotion, but it's sad that that's,
40:52that he put himself in this situation.
41:11And so it took a lot longer than what we wanted to, but it's nice to have that person off
41:16the streets.
41:25It's been over a year.
41:27It's his birthday.
41:30He was here.
41:31He even been like, Mom, give me the bounce house for my birthday, just so he could do this with
41:36the kids.
41:38He just loved his kids.
41:45I hate that the youngest one, he doesn't get the opportunity to even know him, see him.
41:51I was on the phone when it happened with the baby's mother who was there.
42:00Quentin had a brother who, he came and saw me after it happened.
42:04He talked for about two hours.
42:05He told me about the kind of person that Quentin is.
42:09And it hurt because I knew that if Quentin had met Farron under different circumstances,
42:15that they would have actually been friends.
42:24Farron was a good son.
42:25He loved me.
42:26We went through a lot together.
42:28So we had the friendship that I had with my son.
42:33You know, it can't be replaced.
42:35I never get it back.
42:38I am bad.
42:40All friends, this other kind.
42:46We had a beautiful pregnancy.
42:48We had some very happy new life.
