2028ರ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ-ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ಮೈತ್ರಿಕೂಟ ಬಹುಮತ ಪಡೆದರೆ ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಅವರು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯಾಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಶೇ. 50-50 ರಷ್ಟಿದೆ. ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಅವರೇ ಅಂತಿಮ ನಾಯಕ, ಆದರೆ ಮೈತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ "ದೊಡ್ಡಣ್ಣ"ನ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಹಳೇ ಮೈಸೂರು ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೈತ್ರಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳು ಬರಲು ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಅವರೇ ಕಾರಣ ಎನ್ನುವ ವಾತಾವರಣ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾದರೆ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಿಎಂ ಪಟ್ಟ ಸಿಗುವ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿರುತ್ತವೆ.

In the 2028 elections, if the BJP-JDS alliance secures a majority, there is a 50-50 chance of H.D. Kumaraswamy becoming the Chief Ministerial candidate.While he remains the ultimate leader for the JDS, the decision of the BJP—which plays the role of the "big brother" in the alliance—will be crucial here. If a narrative is built that Kumaraswamy is the primary reason for the alliance winning a high number of seats in the Old Mysore region, his chances of clinching the CM post will significantly increase.
