40:21thank you thank you thank you for coming for those of you who've attended before
40:29feel free to ignore my sob story and go straight to the bar
40:33but for those of you who don't know it here's the short version
40:38my parents were both junior hockey coaches
40:42and they were hit by a drunk driver when i was 12 years old
40:48mercifully for them they died instantly mercifully for me the saint thomas scholarships existed
40:57i didn't have anybody else to help me
41:01had a lot of memories a love of hockey and a huge hole in my heart
41:08saint thomas filled it with hope the hope of a new family things things weren't always easy
41:16you know they never are for anybody but in hockey i found what i was missing
41:23first at my high school then later at college and now here with the admirals
41:28and i never looked back because i i never had to
41:35the family i craved the family that i needed that that i still need today
41:42hockey gave it to me and saint thomas gave me hockey
41:48so from the bottom of my heart i want to thank you all for being here tonight
41:52and for supporting this cause because it's not just a scholarship it's
41:57it's everything that comes with it it's a whole world
