00:53As I said, Ken Rocks, man,
00:55you can just tell this guy just understands what makes him so good.

01:02And Ken is out there doing what he's been doing over the last few weekends
01:05and just be able to be that aggressive to get past Hunter Lawrence,
01:08get past Justin's heel right here.

01:14Jumping through the whoops.

01:17Like James was saying, how explosive he is.
01:20These first couple laps.
01:22His MO, I would assume, to come out here,
01:25throw down some sprint laps.

01:29Get a gap.
01:30Four or five seconds.
01:31And just maintain from there.
01:33And I haven't seen many people in this sport do it better than Ken Rocks.
01:36That's what he did last week.
01:38And then he was told to slow it down on the last lap.
01:41And he said, that got me out of my rhythm.

01:43He had a 10 plus second lead.
01:46And why is this going to be really hard for these guys like Hunter Lawrence?
01:49Because we see how slippery this racetrack is.
01:51Anytime anybody's pushing it on this racetrack,
01:53they've been making a lot of mistakes.
01:55So this gap with Kenny is just going to make it really, really hard for Hunter
01:59to make that time up.

03:08Go back a few years ago, Justin had a breakout ride here at Nashville.
03:12Something about his soul in this stadium.
03:15He's doing pretty good, but Hunter Lawrence is actually making some time back up on Ken Rockson.
03:21Ken didn't get away too much.
03:23That's great for Hunter.
03:24We know how strong he is at the end of the race.
03:27Look at the lap times here.
03:29Hunter Lawrence, the last lap.

03:36So watch that margin.

03:46Maybe Kenny made a mistake, but you can tell by his body language.
03:49This isn't a normal Ken Rockson that we see in these opening laps.
03:53It kind of looks a little stiff, so I'm interested to see what happened here
03:57because Hunter Lawrence is making up a lot of time, RC.
04:00Well, I was down here in qualifying practice.
04:03Lee and I were on the track, and I just could see that the track was a little bit different
04:07in qualifying practice earlier today, but Hunter just looked comfortable on his motorcycle.
04:13And I said that to him, and I'm like, man.
04:16So these next couple laps are going to be interesting.
04:18I think if the 96 can get a hook in him, it's game on.

04:23Guys, watch next lap in the sand.
04:26Kenny's tripling to the outside, which has been really good all day,
04:29but they've done some track work, and that inside line through the sand
04:32is really starting to work.
04:33Watch Hunter.
04:34He triples to the inside and uses a lot less racetrack.
04:37He's going to close it down even more than he already is.
04:40Yeah, no, I mean, he's already on him.
04:42And talk about this a little bit during the call.
04:45It's been a few years since Ken Rocks has been in position.
04:47Almost 10 years in this spot where he's riding as good.
04:52Do you think maybe the pressure is starting to get to him?
04:55Because he's definitely riding really tight as Hunter is going up the inside.
04:58Well, look at this.
05:00Lawrence switches lines, switches again, has a shot at the lead of the race.
05:05Will he look at that inside option on Rocks?
05:06And he sure does, but couldn't quite get it done.
05:09Yeah, I can tell you this much, James, and you know it better than anybody.
05:12When you're in Hunter Lawrence's position and you've made that much time up
05:16on your rival competitor for the championship, it is a great feeling
05:20because you're playing with house money on speed.
05:23Yeah, and especially against Ken Rocks.
05:26And again, we know how good Ken has been in the beginning of the part of the race.
05:30And Hunter's almost strong.
05:31He's stronger towards the end.
05:33So we'll find out.
05:34Looks like Kenny's starting to stabilize.
05:37Justin Hill is right behind these guys.
05:39But Hunter's in a great spot of defense right there.
05:43Hey, while we're enjoying this fight up front, let's just take a moment to praise Team Tedder's Justin Hill.

06:24but maybe he, like, tips it.
06:27And then I could gain more position by that.
06:30I mean, it's a slippery slope.

06:33But I think Kenny's so good that, you know, he's going to stabilize his race now.
06:37He looks a little bit looser than what he was.
06:39So I think he just kind of jumped on him as we were watching the teammates.
06:42But if Cooper Webb on the inside of Justin Cooper gets it.
06:47Meanwhile, Eli Tomac has not been able to move any further forward than 10th place.

07:05Yeah, look how it looks where he did strike in.
07:08I noticed that when we had a shot on Eli the last time we had it,
07:12he was kind of looking like Chase Sexton was in that heat race.
07:15There wasn't really no sense of urgency, kind of standing up, laboring into the corners.
07:20And the guy that we saw in the heat race isn't this guy right now.
07:25It's like he's settled into these guys' pace.
07:28Even though, like, he's probably a bit faster.
07:32It's almost like, yeah, he's just gotten into their, yeah, into their pace here.
07:36And that's, this is going to be huge for both Kenny and Hunter from a points perspective.
07:41Nice work from Ferrandes there, passes Shane McElrack.
07:44That's for 7th.
07:47And that is exactly Ferrandes' best result on this new ride.
07:53Aboard that Troy Lee design red ball Ducati.
07:56Keep in mind, we haven't talked about it hardly at all today,
07:59other than how it affects the track conditions.
08:02It's been hot.
08:03And not always do these guys race in hot conditions in Supercross.
08:07So, this is really going to come into play.
08:10The sun has absolutely been beaming all day here today.
08:14So, as we get later on in this main event,
08:17it's going to be fun to see how it works out for the top two guys.

08:23Yeah, Sabaji's pulling over, but he was a lap down, so.
08:27So, back up front, 1.2, 1.3 seconds.
08:31Slices it back to one.
08:33It's fluctuating, but Roxanne's remaining resilient out in front.
08:38I wonder if Kidney kind of got into a slump there early on,
08:41and maybe lost his groove.
08:43And that's what allowed Hunter Lawrence to catch up to him.
08:46But he's kind of pulled back out of gap now.

08:54You can see right there, that's Hunter Lawrence's mechanic
08:57and Billy Hartle, Ken Robson's mechanic.
08:59Right now, it's kind of alternating between just letting them know
09:02position on ball, position that everybody else is at on the track,
09:06and obviously the time difference there.
09:07But also, every now and then, we see them flash up messages.

09:12That's what we needed.
09:13So, right now, they're just keeping their guys honest on track
09:16if this battle unfolds.

09:19I just go back to our days of racing,
09:22and any time you get down the stretch right here,

09:26When you're neck-to-neck like this,
09:29and so close in time, it just becomes a battle of the minds at this stage,

09:39He was running in fourth, challenging Justin Hill for third.
09:44Yeah, that one section up there, Hunter Lawrence.

10:24Yeah, it didn't look like Hunter did anything to be able to close that gap up on Kenny.
10:29So you can tell he's in that spot to where he feels like he has that pace.
10:33He can close that gap whenever.
10:34So it really just comes down to when he wants to make that move.
10:37We talked about it earlier in the heat races.
10:39When you get there, you've got to jump on that guy.
10:42You know Kenny's probably gonna fight back.
10:44So wherever you do it, make sure it's in the spot.
10:46Kenny can't retaliate and slow this race down for you.

10:49You can't have an attempt to fail.
10:50Close call right there by Tristan Lane.
10:54Kenny almost ran into him.
10:56But look at that right side.
10:57See where Hunter was at.
10:59I believe that's gonna be a really good opportunity for Hunter if he can be close to make a move.
11:04But I go back to fitness and how is that gonna play a part?
11:12This is fascinating.
11:14Watching the ebb and flow between these two and that gap kind of expand and contract.
11:20Who is playing the better game here?
11:23Is it Roxanne out in front or is it Hunter Lawrence just biding his time?
11:26And you talk about game, Lee, and I believe this, James.
11:30It's a game of chess.
11:32And what is the game plan?
11:34Yeah, no, I agree with you.
11:36Oh, Kenny.
11:38A mistake by Roxanne.
11:39He knew it.
11:40He looked behind.
11:41And Lawrence was out of pounce.
11:42Now Roxanne comes back.
11:45Ooh.
11:46Lawrence has got the inside line.
11:48Roxanne can't set him up for a move there.
11:50Hunter Lawrence in the lead of this race.
11:53Yeah, Kenny, he slid off of that little single on the inside.
11:56And he looked back almost as if something happened.
11:59And he was very respectful to Hunter Lawrence.
12:01He ran there.
12:02He could have ran in a lot harder, Ricky.
12:03Kenny's a quality guy.
12:05But these next couple laps are going to be so key.
12:08Ken is normally so explosive, not only beginning of the race, but to be able to get back by it.
12:14But watch what happens.
12:15Ken gets a little sideways right there.
12:16He's going to come out of this 90 sideways under braking.
12:20Yeah, he just slid off and he must have looked back because he thought Hunter might have been on the
12:24outside.
12:24I'm not really sure.
12:25But he could have punted Hunter off the racetrack.
12:28I think even Hunter was kind of surprised that he didn't do it.
12:31But just showed you how much respect Kenny Roxanne has.
12:33But there's that gap.
12:35Now look at this.
12:36Hunter Lawrence says, thank you.
12:37That was a gift and I'm going to take off.
12:39There's no pressure on Ken Roxanne from Justin Hill whatsoever.
12:44So this is comfort zone.
12:46If he doesn't have anything in response to Hunter Lawrence, it's still going to be a good result that keeps
12:52him within one point of the championship lead.
12:54A lot of racing left, but you talk about the mental side a lot, James.
12:59And I have to say, if Hunter is able to get this win and take it down to the checker,
13:06the confidence that that's going to give him going into these next four rounds, I just think would be.
13:13Oh, Roxanne's dropped it.
13:15Oh, he's got to kick it too.
13:17Oh, it gets back, fired back quick.
13:20This race is unraveling for Ken Roxanne.
13:23Oh, there goes Cooper Webb.
13:25Justin Hill is second.

13:30That was right before the finish line.

13:36I'm not sure how he ended up that way.
13:39Maybe over-rotated the corner or something coming out.

13:43We've seen a couple of those moments.

13:46And he just, even on the bike, just really stiff.
13:48Dude, it seems like he's, I don't know, maybe not as energetic.

13:56A little lethargic on the bike, but you never know.

14:06I mean, we saw him get around Hunter, make those kind of passes.
14:09And it looked like Ken Roxxon.
14:10I just got to go, go back to just on the mental side.

14:14Maybe he hurt himself, over jumped something.
14:16And he's kind of dealing with that.
14:18Or you got to look at the championship.

14:28And Roxxon is just to the right of your screen.

16:20He had a really great run of podiums there mid season.
16:23And then he's been absent from the podium the last three rounds.
16:27This will be a welcome relief with return.

16:32But speaking of podium, look at that number 14 on the Ducati race and Dylan Ferrandez.

19:19Jeremy McGrath, Jet Lawrence and others who have accomplished that feat.
19:23Hunter could add his name to that list in just four races time.
19:26What an absolutely epic ride by the number 96 of Hunter Lawrence on that factory Honda HRC.
19:34That fall that he took two weeks ago in Detroit.
19:37He backs it up with the podium.
19:39And then now an absolutely dominant ride bides his time.
19:44It's by the man.
19:46Quality, quality ride.
19:47No, I agree with you on that.
19:51And I would say every one of his wins this year.

19:54And then like straight up, he's beat the guy.

20:07This is where Hunter Lawrence clinched his 250 East Division title.
20:12This is a special place to this guy.
20:15And we just had his younger brother Jet in the booth with us talking about what he's seen his brother
20:21accomplish this year.
20:22And how he's seen his older brother grow and move into a different echelon of the sport.
20:28Which is that brotherly pride.
20:31But this is big time for Hunter Lawrence.
20:33One lap to go before he extends his championship lead and wins for the fourth time this year.
20:40Cooper Webb is eight and a half seconds back.
20:42Ken Robson, you're watching on your screen, is in third with Chase Sexton chasing.
20:47And then Dylan Ferrandez is poised to get the red bull.
