00:00Let's get started here with a pretty good matchup, I think, of two teams that may be in the postseason
00:04this year.
00:04Frambois Valdez starts for the Tigers tonight against Andrew Abbott of the Reds.
00:09I like both teams. I think both teams have shown a lot pitching-wise this season.
00:14They kind of look like a mirror image of one another when you think about it in the American League.
00:19I mean, Detroit doesn't hit that much. Cincinnati doesn't hit that much.
00:21And they have pretty good pitching. Do you like any side tonight or total?
00:26Yeah, you know, and just kind of to your point, they are very, very similar teams,
00:30especially because they're playing in kind of a similar region.
00:32They've experienced some of the similar kind of colder weather in the early goings of the season.
00:37And so I think when you're looking at just kind of the dynamic of this game in a vacuum,
00:42I do tend to think that Frambois Valdez, this game is going to be one that is kind of written
00:46by his performance.
00:48And so, you know, he can be one of those guys that goes out there and shuts down an entire
00:52lineup for eight innings strong,
00:53or he can kind of give up those walks and get shelled early.
00:57It's going to be an ultimate kind of wildcard in terms of that toss-up.
01:00But I tend to think it's going to be the former because of how he does against a lefty-heavy
01:04lineup,
01:05kind of like the Reds are rolling out here.
01:07And, you know, the Tigers, they're a team right now that kind of needs to get off the snide.
01:11And I do tend to think this is a good opportunity for them to do so.
01:15So I'm taking the run line, and I'm also taking the money line with the Tigers.
01:19Okay, fair enough. Tigers it is for Rob tonight.
01:21Meanwhile, will this be the night?
01:23That the Philadelphia Phillies break their losing streak, similar to the Mets.
01:27I don't know that it will be.
01:30Let's start there, then we'll get to Guardians Blue Jays.
01:32Sorry, guys, I skipped ahead. I'm just so excited for this game.
01:35Braves are minus 146 tonight, total of nine.
01:39Can't really trust Andrew Painter all that much, I don't think.
01:42But the offensive Phillies, I mean, at some point, it's got to come alive.
01:46Here's the problem, Rob. Braves are playing some fantastic baseball right now.
01:51No, yeah, I think you nailed it.
01:53And I don't think right now, if you're a Phillies backer in any way, which is kind of difficult at
01:57this moment in time, you're not doing it because of the name on the bump, right?
02:01You're doing it because the lineup has the upside to explode.
02:03We kind of saw that in the back half of this last Cubs outing where Cubs bullpen came in and
02:09the Phillies were able to nod it up late before their bullpen inevitably kind of gave up that final blow
02:14in the bottom of the ninth.
02:15And so I tend to think right now, the Phillies are kind of moving in the right direction of that
02:20lineup.
02:20And a guy like Grant Holmes, who is going to challenge hitters and challenge a lot of lefties in particular
02:26tonight, I think it's going to spell a little bit of disaster.
02:29It's probably the best opportunity the Phillies have had to put up some significant runs and also to get that
02:34win at plus 119, plus 115 out there.
02:38I think this is the shot where you take the stab with the Phillies again.
