00:00Lawyers for former House Speaker Martin Romualdez write to the Ombudsman to inhibit it from investigating him.
00:06In a letter to Ombudsman Boying Remulia, the lawyer cites statements by Remulia and Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano that they
00:13say show prejudice against their client.
00:15These statements include Remulia's remarks in November 2025 on possibly filing plunder cases against Romualdez and Clavano calling him a
00:23master plunderer last week.
00:25The letter reads,
00:26Such statements are unequivocal. The Honorable Office has already determined that our client is guilty of plunder even before any
00:32case has been filed and while it is still performing investigatory duties.
00:36The lawyers insist any complaint against their client should be referred to an independent and impartial body free from bias.
