00:04So Amid reports Pentagon infighting with senior Pentagon's leaders, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
00:10So what does this internal disagreement signal right now, especially during wartime?
00:16Well, the Secretary of the Navy, I worked in the Pentagon, and the Secretary of Navy is largely responsible for
00:24the overall manpower of the Navy.
00:27The person who's running the day-to-day operations right now with what's happening in the Strait of Hormuz is
00:34Admiral Brad Cooper, and he's based out of Central Command in Tampa, Florida.
00:40So I think a lot of people are mixing the two and saying, well, you know, the Secretary of Navy
00:45is really important because the job of the Navy is to try to stop a war from happening.
00:51And certainly we have been using our naval assets in a very proficient and excellent way, the way that the
00:58Navy has acted.
00:59But the Navy is being run right now in that particular theater by an admiral based out of Central Command,
01:06not the Secretary of Navy.
01:08So, you know, this is all kind of what happens in an administration when there are differing opinions.
01:16President Trump really wanted shipbuilding to be a large part of what the Secretary of Navy was doing.
01:21And apparently he did not think that Admiral Phelan was doing that or Secretary Phelan was doing that.
