00:05From 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York, it's Late Night with Seth Meyers.
00:12The night, Toma Domingo.
00:15Star of Running Point, actor Scott MacArthur.
00:18An all-new, closer look.
00:25And now, Seth Meyers.
00:28Good evening, everybody. I'm Seth Meyers.
00:30This is Late Night. We hope you're doing well.
00:32And now, if you don't mind, we're going to get to the news.
00:34When asked today by the New York Post whether the U.S. and Iran could hold a second round of
00:39peace talks as soon as Friday,
00:41President Trump said in a text message, quote,
00:44It's possible, President DJT.
00:47And it is very funny to give the most noncommittal answer and also sign it, President DJT.
00:53He might as well have said, I'm the leader of the free world, and I have no idea how crazy
00:59is that.
01:02Hours after he said the U.S. military was raring to resume its bombing campaign,
01:06President Trump announced yesterday that he would extend the ceasefire with Iran.
01:11This guy gives out more mixed messages than a Los Angeles parking sign.
01:17President Trump said in a post yesterday on Truth Social that Iran is, quote,
01:21collapsing financially.
01:22Oh, they are?
01:24I had to split an Uber to work today with Fallon and Kelly Clarkson.
01:33And I'm the only one they won't let sing in the car.
01:37During an interview yesterday with CNBC,
01:40President Trump said that he is very careful walking up and down stairs
01:43because he knows that if he falls, it will be the biggest news story.
01:47Maybe, maybe not.
01:48Really, depends on which stair.
01:54Donald Trump Jr.'s fiancée Bettina Anderson held a bridal shower last weekend
01:58at Mar-a-Lago, and the theme was Enchanted Garden,
02:01while the theme of Don Jr.'s bachelor party was
02:04getting our story straight.
02:10In a new interview, former RNC co-chair Lara Trump said
02:14that the last text message she received from President Trump
02:16was a video of a bombing that the White House put out,
02:19while the last text message Tiffany received was,
02:22Enjoy Kindergarten.
02:31The New York Times has published a theory
02:32that the New York Mets are on a losing streak
02:34following a photo-op between the team's mascots
02:37and Mayor Zoran Mamdani.
02:39Well, it wouldn't be the first time a photo with Mamdani
02:41has set off a losing streak.
02:45The Athletic recently published a list of the best things
02:48to eat this season at MLB stadiums,
02:50which include a chow mein burrito at Dodger Stadium,
02:53chicken and churros at Wrigley,
02:55and at Citi Field, a gun.
03:02That was 100% the accurate reaction to that joke.
03:07Ukrainian officials reportedly considering renaming
03:09the contested Donbass region
03:11that Russia is fighting for Donnyland
03:13after President Trump in order to get his attention.
03:17And for similar reasons,
03:18I'm thinking of changing the name of our show
03:20to Lorne Night with Seth Meyers.
03:26Maybe he'll watch that.
03:30The restaurant chain Red Lobster announced this week
03:33that it will offer its Endless Shrimp promotion,
03:35even though Endless Shrimp sounds less like a promotion
03:38and more like a curse by a witch.
03:43And finally, a Chinese car company recently filed a patent
03:46for an in-vehicle toilet, so what?
03:49In America, we have ones where the whole thing is a toilet.
03:53And that was a monologue, everybody.
03:57We got a great show of you tonight.
04:00You know him from films such as Sing Sing
04:02and The Color Purple, as well as Euphoria,
04:05whose highly anticipated third season
04:06is airing now on HBO and HBO Max.
04:08He's also starring as Joe Jackson.
04:10In the upcoming biopic Michael,
04:12which is in theaters and IMAX this Friday,
04:14Coleman Domingo is back on the show.
04:16Our friend Coleman is back.
04:19You have seen him on shows
04:22like The Righteous Gemstones and Roosters.
04:25He's currently starring in Running Point,
04:27whose second season drops April 23rd on Netflix.
04:30He's been my friend for almost 25 years.
04:33Scott MacArthur is back.
04:35Before we get to all that.
04:38Donald Trump's approval rating
04:40has hit a new all-time low
04:42as more members of his administration
04:44scramble for the exits.
04:45For more on this, it's time for A Closer Look.
04:51I am not a numbers guy.
04:54Here's good proof of that.
04:55I recently helped my son with his math homework,
04:57and it went so badly, they held me back a year.
05:01Fourth grade hasn't been terrible.
05:02Last week, I grew my own beans.
05:05So with my mathematical limitations in mind,
05:08help me out here.
05:09Are these numbers good or bad?
05:11Only 33% of Americans approve of the job Trump is doing,
05:15while I feel 67% disapprove,
05:19which means he's underwater by 34 points.
05:22He's in an all-time low,
05:24and he's down five points from the last month.
05:26Trump is having a worse April than the New York Mets.
05:29Obviously, what's going on with the Mets,
05:31it begs the question.
05:32Was their season officially jinxed
05:33when Mr. and Mrs. Mets visited our set on opening day?
05:37Look, it's not like this show has winner's mojo.
05:40We've been nominated for and lost 11 Emmys.
05:4211.
05:43To give you an idea how many that is,
05:4511 is one less than the Mets' 12-game losing streak.
05:50As of taping, true story,
05:51our security guards, John and Jim,
05:53seen here forgetting that history repeats itself,
05:56think this is happening because the Mets
05:58gave cue card Wally a custom Mets jersey
06:01with his name on it,
06:02despite the fact that Wally is a Yankees fan.
06:04And to break the curse,
06:06they believe they have to burn the jersey,
06:08and the craziest part is they only think it'll work
06:11if they burn it while Wally is wearing it.
06:15The point is, the wheels have completely fallen off
06:18the MAGA wagon.
06:19Trump poll numbers are in free fall.
06:21Republicans are losing the gerrymandering war.
06:23They started with Democrats.
06:24MAGA pundits are publicly turning on the president.
06:27And now, another cabinet secretary is out.
06:29U.S. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez
06:31remember stepping down.
06:33The White House says she is taking a job
06:34in the private sector.
06:35She was also, though it's important to note,
06:37facing an internal investigation into possible misconduct
06:39and allegations of inappropriate behavior.
06:42This makes her now the third cabinet member
06:44to leave the Trump administration in recent weeks.
06:46Wow, it's bad when the labor secretary
06:48can't even keep her job.
06:50Jobs was her jobs.
06:53So now that there's three cabinet officials out
06:55in less than two months,
06:56the administration has the same turnover
06:58as a college town Chick-fil-A
07:00at the end of a semester.
07:02Soon it's just going to be Trump
07:03wandering around by himself
07:04trying to keep squirrels out of his ballroom.
07:07He and J.D. Vance are going to go full gray gardens.
07:11But even more shocking
07:12than the labor secretary's abrupt resignation
07:15is the investigation that preceded it,
07:17which involved alleged misconduct
07:18by the secretary and her family.
07:21Her departure comes amid multiple allegations
07:24of misconduct and abuse of power
07:26by not just her, but her husband,
07:29and apparently her father as well.
07:31Ms. Chavez de Riemer's husband and father
07:35exchanged text messages
07:37with young female staff members
07:39at the Labor Department.
07:40In an April 2025 exchange
07:42provided to investigators,
07:44Ms. Chavez de Riemer's father
07:45wrote to a young female
07:47Labor Department staff member,
07:49quote,
07:50hearing you are in town,
07:51wishing you would let me know.
07:53I could have made some excuses
07:55to get out and show you around.
07:57Please keep this private.
07:59You know, part of me thinks,
08:01oh, maybe that sweet old man
08:02just wants to give a young lady a tour,
08:04and then I remember he signed off,
08:05please keep this private.
08:08No dad is ever supposed to say,
08:11please keep this private about anything.
08:13You're supposed to say to your dad,
08:15please keep that private.
08:16You know, when he gives what seems
08:17like a college-length dissertation
08:19on how attractive he finds the actress
08:21who plays Beth Dutton on Yellowstone.
08:23And then you're like, stop telling me.
08:25And he's like, oh, so you don't think
08:26she's attractive?
08:27And I'm like, I'm just saying,
08:28you don't have to tell everyone
08:29at the bar mitzvah.
08:31Keep that private.
08:33And that's just a hypothetical,
08:34not a real thing that recently happened.
08:40I just made that up.
08:42From my imagination,
08:44not from my real memory.
08:47So three Trump cabinet officials
08:48are already out,
08:49and a fourth might be on his way.
08:51FBI Director Cash Patel
08:53on defense this morning,
08:54denying allegations laid out
08:55in a new report detailing
08:57his alleged drinking habits
08:58and absences from the Bureau.
09:00This article in The Atlantic
09:01cites more than two dozen people,
09:03including unnamed current
09:05and former FBI officials
09:06who allege excessive drinking
09:07and erratic behavior,
09:09described as, quote,
09:11freakouts from Patel.
09:12Several officials cited
09:13say Patel is known for, quote,
09:15obvious intoxication at private clubs,
09:17both here in Washington
09:18and in Las Vegas,
09:19and that many staffers
09:20are just waiting for the announcement
09:22that Patel is going to be fired
09:23from his post,
09:24citing his unreachability
09:25and impulsivity.
09:27Generally speaking,
09:28you don't want to hear
09:29that the country's top
09:29law enforcement official
09:31is known for having freakouts,
09:32you know?
09:33When you're the head of the FBI,
09:34you're supposed to be calm
09:35and level-headed.
09:36No one wants to tune in
09:37to a press conference
09:38about a potential threat
09:39to the homeland
09:39and hear a guy
09:40who looks like this
09:43scream,
09:44everyone,
09:44run for your lives.
09:46And he always looks like that.
09:49He has resting,
09:50run for your lives face.
09:53But the allegations
09:54about Patel,
09:58the allegations
09:59get even worse than that.
10:00The article also claimed
10:01a request for breaching equipment,
10:03normally used by SWAT
10:05and hostage rescue teams
10:06to quickly gain entry
10:07into buildings,
10:08was made last year
10:09because Patel
10:10had been unreachable
10:11behind locked doors.
10:13All right, in fairness,
10:13we've all been there.
10:14You know, you come home
10:15from a hard day at work,
10:16drinking margaritas with Dua Lipa,
10:18and you pass out
10:18on the floor
10:20in the kid's playroom,
10:21and your wife tries
10:22to open the door,
10:23but you locked it
10:23because you didn't want
10:24anyone to see you puking
10:25in your daughter's
10:26Easy-Bake oven.
10:27So your wife has to call
10:28the super to break the door down,
10:30and he's a big Russian guy
10:31with a thick accent.
10:32And when he enters the room,
10:33you wake up,
10:33and you're so scared
10:34that you get
10:35what's known as
10:35cash eyes.
10:42But somehow,
10:44that's not the most embarrassing
10:46episode from the story.
10:48On Friday, April 10th,
10:49as FBI Director Kash Patel
10:50was preparing to leave work
10:51for the weekend,
10:52he struggled to log on
10:53to an internal computer system.
10:55He quickly became convinced
10:57he'd been locked out,
10:58and he panicked,
10:59frantically calling aides
11:00and allies to announce
11:01that he'd been fired
11:02by the White House.
11:03That's according to nine people
11:04familiar with his outreach.
11:06Two of these people
11:07described his behavior
11:08as a, quote,
11:09freak out.
11:10The access problem
11:11turned out to, quote,
11:12have been a technical error,
11:13and it was quickly resolved.
11:15So he freaked out
11:16and told everyone
11:16he was fired,
11:17but it turned out
11:18it was just a technical glitch.
11:19In fact, one FBI official
11:20said of Patel's freak out,
11:21quote,
11:22it was all ultimately bull
11:24and I, for one,
11:25think that would make
11:26a great title
11:27for the first history textbook
11:28about the Trump era.
11:30But Patel,
11:31Patel has pushed back.
11:34Patel has pushed back
11:35on the claims
11:36by suing the Atlantic
11:37and denying the story
11:39at a press conference.
11:40Explain the computer login issue.
11:41Just explain the computer
11:43login issue.
11:43You were not able
11:44to log into the,
11:45your lawsuit contends
11:46that you were not able
11:47to log into the system.
11:48What did you think
11:49after you were unable
11:50to log into the system?
11:52Let's have a survey.
11:53How many of you people
11:54believe that's true?
11:55I do, I do, I do, I do.
11:57I do, I do, I do.
11:58I mean, I don't know
11:59for sure if it's true,
12:00but I definitely believe
12:00it's possible.
12:01I mean, we saw you
12:02crushing beers
12:02in the locker room
12:03after the men's
12:04Olympic hockey team won gold.
12:06That definitely looks like
12:07a guy
12:07who might not remember
12:08his password the next day.
12:10I can definitely imagine
12:11you sitting down
12:12at your computer
12:12drunkenly crying
12:13because you can't log in.
12:14Why won't the beach ball
12:16stop spinning?
12:18But maybe the saddest moment
12:19of Patel's press conference
12:21was when he explained
12:22his drinking in the locker room
12:23by describing
12:25the U.S. men's hockey team
12:26as his friends.
12:28I'm like an everyday American
12:29who loves his country,
12:30loves the sport of hockey,
12:31and champions my friends
12:33when they raise a gold medal
12:34and invite me in to celebrate.
12:35Oh, sweetie, no.
12:37No, sweetie.
12:38Friends?
12:39No, sweetie.
12:40I'm going to say to you
12:41what I said to John and Jim
12:42about Mr. and Mrs. Matt.
12:44They're not your friends.
12:47When Trump won the election,
12:48MAGA acted as though
12:50they were invincible,
12:51but the last month
12:51has proven otherwise.
12:52Trump is at all-time lows
12:54and keeps losing election
12:55after election
12:56while his top aides
12:57quit or get fired.
12:58Next time a poll comes out
12:59showing how much voters
13:00dislike him,
13:01Trump's going to tell Fox News,
13:03please keep this private.
13:04This has been
13:05A Closer Look.
13:10We'll be right back
13:11with Coleman Domingo, everybody.
13:17For more of Seth's Closer Looks,
13:19be sure to subscribe
13:19to Late Night on YouTube.
13:28Our first cast of night
13:30is an Emmy-winning
13:31and Tony,
13:32an Academy Award-nominated actor.
13:33You know from films
13:34such as Sing Sing,
13:35The Color Purple,
13:36and Rustin,
13:37as well as shows
13:38like The Four Seasons
13:39and Euphoria,
13:40which is airing now
13:41on HBO and HBO Max
13:42with new episodes
13:43premiering on Sundays.
13:44He stars as Joe Jackson
13:45in the upcoming biopic
13:47Michael,
13:47which is in theaters
13:48and IMAX this Friday.
13:49Let's take a look.
13:50So,
13:51I've decided
13:55I'm arranging
13:57a tour
13:57in a live album.
14:02How are we going to tour
14:03without Jermaine?
14:04Your brother made his choice
14:05when we left Motown
14:06and he stayed.
14:07Let him live with it.
14:09The point is,
14:10we need to capitalize
14:11on Michael's album.
14:13So,
14:13we're going to do
14:14a bunch of songs
14:15Joseph,
14:16I...
14:18I...
14:18I need to think.
14:20No, sir.
14:22I told you what to think.
14:25You got a problem
14:26with that, Michael?
14:26We need to have
14:27a reasonable conversation
14:28about this, Joseph.
14:30You think now
14:31because you're a big superstar
14:32and you got this big hit album
14:33that you're better
14:33than everybody in this house?
14:34Is that it?
14:36You're better than your brothers?
14:38Mother than me.
14:40Is that it?
14:41Please welcome back
14:42to the show, you guys,
14:43Coleman Domingo!
15:02You know what?
15:03I'm, like, embarrassed
15:04by what I'm about to tell you
15:05because I went backstage,
15:06I said hi to you.
15:07Yeah.
15:07You looked amazing.
15:09Well, thank you.
15:09And I was like,
15:10you always look great.
15:11I'm like, God,
15:11his outfit's amazing
15:12and now I'm realizing
15:13it was just the outfit
15:13you showed up in.
15:15It was like,
15:16it was just your, like,
15:16walking around outfit.
15:17It was my pregame for you.
15:18It was your pregame.
15:19Like, your pregame
15:20is like my winning
15:21the World Series.
15:24You look fantastic.
15:25Well, thanks, man.
15:25There was a whole conversation
15:26about this outfit
15:26before I came out here.
15:27I'm very happy you were.
15:28I'm representing, you know,
15:29a movie like Michael.
15:30I couldn't come out
15:31in, like, a polo shirt
15:32and khakis.
15:33No.
15:33This is why you're
15:35in the film
15:35and I'm not.
15:37I mean, there's a number.
15:38You look great.
15:39You look great.
15:39You look good.
15:39You look good.
15:40Nobody believes you.
15:43You also looked great.
15:46Briefly, I just want
15:46to touch on fantastic job
15:48at SNL.
15:48Just a couple weeks ago.
15:53You certainly presented
15:55as very comfortable
15:56for a hosting job
15:58that many find uncomfortable.
16:00But did you just enjoy it
16:02as much as it seemed?
16:03I think I just kicked
16:03into my theater background.
16:05I feel like, you know,
16:06I just felt relaxed.
16:07I feel like the most relaxed
16:08place I am is on stage.
16:10Yeah.
16:10Really.
16:11So I feel like I was at home
16:11and also the whole team
16:12over there, all the writers
16:13and the creatives there,
16:15they really make sure
16:15they took care of me.
16:17And I really just,
16:18I mean, the opening monologue
16:19was really just sort of me.
16:20Yeah.
16:20And also just like,
16:21I want it to be funny,
16:22but not like, ha-ha funny.
16:24Yeah.
16:24But just like,
16:25we're going to be warm
16:26and gentle.
16:26I think that, I mean,
16:27again, you talked about,
16:28you know, vibes
16:28and that's a real important
16:30part of the monologue,
16:30which is just to make
16:31everybody feel comfortable
16:32before things kick off.
16:33You did a great job.
16:34It was really fun to watch.
16:35Also, great job.
16:37I do want to shout out.
16:38The hair and makeup team
16:40completely transformed you
16:41into Joe Jackson.
16:43I mean, you know,
16:44I didn't look like myself.
16:46No, so that's,
16:47that's the man himself.
16:48And, I mean,
16:49that's incredible.
16:51Yeah.
16:52Yeah.
16:53So it's not just,
16:54how much prosthetics was it?
16:57It started out
16:58with two and a half hours
16:59of prosthetics.
17:00Yep.
17:00And then we got it
17:01down to 90 minutes.
17:02Okay.
17:02And then plus wigs.
17:03We were moving fast
17:04because they didn't want
17:05to keep me in there
17:05for too long.
17:06But it was a great time
17:07for me to sort of,
17:08you know,
17:08find the Joe Jackson
17:09me every day.
17:10But it was fantastic.
17:11Had you done,
17:11I'm trying to think,
17:12have you done a lot
17:13of prosthetic work
17:14over your career?
17:15No, I haven't done
17:15a lot of prosthetics.
17:16I feel like I did like,
17:17you know, usually do wounds
17:18and stuff like that.
17:19Right.
17:19Blood coming out of you
17:20or something.
17:21Nothing like that.
17:22That was like a full
17:22transformation where
17:24the first time I saw
17:25myself like that,
17:26it was weird.
17:27It's a strange thing
17:28when you look in a mirror
17:28and you don't see
17:29yourself anymore.
17:30But does it help
17:31when you're playing
17:31somebody who is so
17:32unlike you?
17:33Yeah.
17:33I mean, I would
17:33imagine, right?
17:34Very much so.
17:34It helps you because,
17:35you know, as an actor,
17:36you work on the voice
17:37and the text and research
17:39and then suddenly you get
17:40all these other elements.
17:41And also, I just got
17:41to shout out this crew.
17:43Bill Corso designed
17:44the makeup and Jamie Richman
17:46and Mo Meinhardt
17:47and Carla Farmer.
17:48They took care of all
17:49of this, so therefore
17:50I can just exist
17:51and be Joe Jackson.
17:52So then I worked
17:53on the body language
17:53and all that stuff.
17:54So, yeah, it's a team effort.
17:57We've talked before
17:58when you're here
17:58about you're an accomplished
17:59dancer.
18:00You're the kind of guy
18:00who will, you know,
18:01you'll break out of dance.
18:02Yeah, cut a rug.
18:04Joe Jackson kind of famously
18:06not known for dancing
18:07in the way that Michael is.
18:08You don't know that?
18:09Well.
18:11Did you try to pitch it
18:13for the film?
18:13He had a lot of kids,
18:14so I'm sure he could dance.
18:15Yeah, that's true.
18:16That's a very good point.
18:18But no dancing in the film.
18:19Did you try to,
18:19was this an argument
18:20you made to Antoine Fuqua?
18:22Were you like, you know?
18:23No, I didn't make that at all
18:24because I was with Jafar Jackson
18:27who is outstanding.
18:28And Michael Jackson's nephew.
18:30Michael Jackson's nephew.
18:30Yeah.
18:31And he is like
18:31the incarnate of Michael.
18:33Yeah.
18:33He really is.
18:34It is like being with Michael.
18:35What was it like?
18:36I mean, again,
18:37being on set,
18:38watching him dance like Michael,
18:39I mean, that is something
18:40when you think about a film
18:41and somebody playing Michael,
18:43that's the part you think
18:43must be the hardest.
18:44Listen, the first time
18:45I saw him,
18:46Antoine Fuqua, director,
18:48asked me to come out on set.
18:49I was there for a makeup test.
18:50I went out to meet my sons.
18:52He's like,
18:52come see your sons.
18:53And I saw them performing
18:54a number from the Victory Tour.
18:57And immediately,
18:57I thought that I was watching
18:59the Jacksons back in the 1980s.
19:01It was wild to see.
19:02So much so,
19:03like they even,
19:04you know,
19:04Jafar came and ran up to me
19:05with sweat dripping down
19:06and he hugged me
19:07and said,
19:07hi, father.
19:08And in that moment,
19:10I was Joe Jackson
19:11and that was my son.
19:12That's incredible.
19:13Yeah.
19:14Could you,
19:15if they had asked you
19:16to moonwalk in the movie,
19:17could you,
19:17Coleman Domingo,
19:19had done that?
19:19Listen.
19:23I'm from West Philly,
19:24born and raised.
19:25There's nothing we can't do.
19:27Exactly.
19:28I can moonwalk.
19:29Now,
19:29did you learn how to moonwalk?
19:31I mean,
19:31was Michael Jackson
19:32the first person,
19:33was anyone?
19:34He's the first person
19:35we saw do the moonwalk.
19:36Got it.
19:36So you had to learn it off,
19:38Michael?
19:38Yeah,
19:38we learned it off of Mike.
19:39Got it.
19:39Mike taught us everything.
19:40Got it.
19:41Yeah.
19:41Do you know how to moonwalk?
19:42I can walk backwards.
19:44Okay.
19:45Want me to show you?
19:46Yeah,
19:46show me how to moonwalk.
19:47Are you going to do it too?
19:47I'll do it if you show me
19:48how to do it.
19:52You got to look at the feet.
19:54You got to go.
19:55It's got to,
19:55oh,
19:56oh,
19:57oh,
19:57oh,
19:58oh,
19:58oh.
19:59You got to do this?
20:01But I feel like,
20:02but if you watch,
20:03like,
20:03this is just as fast.
20:07If it's about getting,
20:08wait.
20:08That's like the laziest,
20:09the laziest way possible.
20:10Oh,
20:11is that actually?
20:13Put some stank on.
20:13You got to,
20:14because Mike,
20:14Mike did this with the stand too.
20:15He did this.
20:16I think you are underestimating
20:18how little people want
20:19to see me put stank on anything.
20:22I have a lot more questions.
20:24We'll be right back
20:25with Coleman after this.
20:38Welcome back, everybody.
20:39We're here with Coleman Domingo,
20:40a long time New Yorker.
20:42Yeah.
20:43And 15 years in the same place,
20:45correct?
20:45Yep.
20:45I used to live in New York.
20:46And then you,
20:47is it true that when you left New York,
20:49you just didn't tell anybody
20:50you were leaving?
20:50Absolutely.
20:51Wow.
20:51So how do you go about doing that?
20:53New York is like that, though.
20:54Everyone judges you
20:55when you're about to leave New York.
20:56That's true.
20:56Especially if you're
20:57going to move to California.
20:57100%.
20:58No one likes that.
20:59Am I right?
20:59No one likes it.
21:00Yeah.
21:00And they all act like,
21:02when you do it,
21:03they're like,
21:03we knew it.
21:04We knew it.
21:04Oh, you're that guy now.
21:06Oh, you like smoothies now.
21:08Yeah.
21:08You're like, no, I just want to...
21:10Also, by the way,
21:11they sell smoothies in New York.
21:12Yeah, but they act like
21:13they only make them in New York.
21:14I know.
21:15They're very unfair.
21:16So I had to take things
21:18out of my apartment
21:19and move it little by little
21:21to L.A.
21:22You were doing it
21:22like a duffel bag at a time.
21:24Like one carry-on
21:26and one checked bag at a time.
21:27I really was.
21:27I don't know what it was,
21:28but I really felt like
21:29people thought that I was
21:30going to become something else.
21:31Yeah.
21:32And like that was a bad thing.
21:33But so it wasn't,
21:35it didn't go well.
21:35I'm going to say about people,
21:38I've known many people
21:38who love New York
21:39more than anything,
21:40and then they move to L.A.,
21:41and they're very happy.
21:42Have you been happy
21:43with your transition so far?
21:44It's funny.
21:45I almost feel like shy
21:45about saying it,
21:46but I'm very happy living in L.A.
21:47I live a very peaceful life.
21:48I think that that's ultimately
21:49what everybody who goes there says.
21:51But when you're in New York,
21:52when you're in your 20s and 30s,
21:53it's great because you walk out
21:54and you're like,
21:55ooh, anything can happen.
21:56Yeah.
21:57I'm 56 now.
21:58I don't want that anymore.
21:58No.
21:59Exactly.
21:59No, it's, well,
22:00you think the same thought,
22:01but a different way.
22:01You're like, anything could happen.
22:03Yes, oh my God.
22:04Yeah, so I get it.
22:05I don't want that.
22:06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
22:06No, I'm enjoying,
22:07like, I think having young kids
22:09here is helpful.
22:10Yeah.
22:11Like, I like seeing it
22:12through their eyes,
22:13but I don't like seeing it
22:14through my eyes anymore.
22:14Young kids are cool, though.
22:15The coolest kids
22:16are New York kids.
22:16Oh, they're already so cool.
22:18They're so much cooler than me.
22:19Way cooler than all of us.
22:20Yeah, because, I mean,
22:21they've seen stuff,
22:22like, the stuff they've seen,
22:23I don't think I saw
22:23until I was, like, 35.
22:26Right, and then they're
22:27really dry about it.
22:27When they're 12, like,
22:28yeah, look at that dude
22:29on the subway, like,
22:30doing backflips, you know,
22:31clown outfit on.
22:32Oh, no, it's unbelievable.
22:34There was a,
22:35my son was on a subway
22:36and there was, like,
22:37an artist,
22:38like, just an incredible
22:38visual artist
22:39who was just standing
22:40with, like, a welder's helmet
22:41that was painted
22:42and, like, he was like,
22:43can I put that on?
22:44He's like, yeah.
22:45And just, like,
22:45puts on a welder's helmet.
22:49This happened.
22:49Exactly, exactly.
22:52Euphoria, congratulations.
22:53It's back.
22:54You too.
22:58This is, you made a joke
22:59about it in the monologue,
23:01but, like, people who love
23:02Euphoria, that is a unique audience.
23:04Are they, have people
23:05been addressing you
23:06about how happy they are
23:07that it's back?
23:08They are happy about it.
23:09But, yeah, first of all,
23:09they were pissed off
23:10that it took so long
23:10for us to come back.
23:11And then they're very happy
23:12that it's back.
23:13Yeah.
23:13And then there's a lot
23:14of conversation about
23:15that it's back,
23:15but it's, it's, it's,
23:17I don't know.
23:18It's all complicated
23:19because it's such a wild
23:21and crazy and beautiful show.
23:25And everyone wants their,
23:26their show.
23:27You know what I mean?
23:28Well, it's interesting
23:28because I feel like
23:29one of the reasons
23:30people were drawn to it
23:31in the first place,
23:32it was very unique
23:33and unpredictable.
23:33Yeah.
23:34And so then it's funny
23:35when people are then upset
23:36that it continues
23:37to be unpredictable.
23:38Like, they all want it.
23:39That's exactly it.
23:40That's exactly it.
23:40They're like, no, no,
23:41at this point,
23:41I want to be able to predict it.
23:42It's like, no,
23:43that's never going to happen.
23:44Well, in the center
23:44of the, of, of the show
23:45is an addict.
23:46Yeah.
23:46And so it has the personality
23:47of an addict.
23:48It will constantly change.
23:49That's true.
23:50You know what I mean?
23:50It won't be reliable.
23:52Yeah, that's true.
23:52Right, exactly.
23:54Zendaya, you've talked about this,
23:55but it is really,
23:57I mean, it's the craziest thing.
23:58You, you first interacted with her.
23:59I mean, obviously,
24:00she saw you on stage
24:01when she was five years old?
24:03She was five years old.
24:03Yeah.
24:04That's unbelievable.
24:04So I'm responsible
24:05for Zendaya's whole career.
24:06No, no, no.
24:07I'm totally kidding.
24:09I'll take that credit.
24:10She watched me and decided,
24:11oh, I got to be like Coleman.
24:13But you, you guys didn't,
24:14you figure that out on set, right?
24:16When we were on set first season,
24:17we were just sitting
24:18with some downtime.
24:19We talked about our roots
24:20in the Bay Area,
24:21how she grew up there.
24:22Yeah.
24:22I started my career there.
24:23And then we found out
24:24that she would watch
24:25a show of mine,
24:26like over and over again.
24:27She was like,
24:28like five or six years old.
24:29I saw this cute curly hair girl
24:31watching, I think it was
24:32All's Well That Ends Well
24:33night after night.
24:34And I was like,
24:34who is this kid?
24:36And I was just intrigued by it.
24:37And then I found out later
24:38that that was Zendaya.
24:39That's unbelievable.
24:40So we've been connected
24:41for years.
24:42And I think she's one
24:42of the most remarkable
24:43actresses we have.
24:44Yeah.
24:45You never get bored
24:46watching her.
24:47Different choices all the time.
24:48I'm sort of in awe of it.
24:49We show up game
24:50and ready and loose.
24:51Yeah.
24:51I love working with her
24:52and I love our friendship
24:53and what we do off screen.
24:55She's just a real awesome girl.
24:56It's very nice to see you guys
24:57working together again.
25:01I know, like,
25:02in the way that you
25:03probably couldn't say anything
25:04about Euphoria Season 3
25:05before it came out,
25:06you're in Disclosure Day,
25:07a big new Spielberg movie,
25:09that I'm pretty sure
25:10you can't disclose much about, right?
25:12No, I can't disclose anything.
25:14I can tell you that it's there
25:15and I think we had
25:16a great time making it.
25:17I think Steven Spielberg
25:19is at his very best.
25:20It felt like I was working
25:21with a new filmmaker.
25:22That's very exciting.
25:23With his enthusiasm
25:24and excitement
25:25for what we're going to make.
25:26And it really is about,
25:27I think it's a film,
25:28it's another film like Michael
25:29that you're going to have
25:30to see in theaters,
25:31but it really is about
25:32our humanity
25:32and what happens
25:33if we believe
25:34in the possibility
25:35of something bigger
25:37than ourselves.
25:37As we talk about biopics,
25:39Lincoln, one of my,
25:40a movie that I never
25:40get tired of watching,
25:41that was the first time
25:42you worked with Spielberg.
25:42Yeah.
25:43Like, what is it like
25:44the first time,
25:45you know, obviously
25:46any actor has their own
25:47role to play
25:48and you want to be prepared
25:49and at the same time
25:50you knew you were going to
25:50work with Steven Spielberg
25:51for the first time.
25:52How do you go into those days?
25:53Listen, I think that
25:54every actor will tell you this,
25:54you're going to work
25:55with Steven Spielberg,
25:56one of the greatest directors ever.
25:58You go into your research,
25:59you go into your study,
26:00you can't prepare enough.
26:02Right.
26:02Because you want to be ready
26:03and you don't want to let him down.
26:06He gives you so much faith.
26:07He's got a twinkle in his eye
26:08and you really feel like,
26:09I want to make sure
26:10that that spark is always there.
26:12I don't want to see the darkness.
26:13Yeah.
26:14If you don't know,
26:14he doesn't have darkness.
26:16He's very sweet.
26:16But you know what I mean?
26:17You really want his approval.
26:19You really do
26:19because he has so much faith in you
26:21and the possibility
26:22of what you can do.
26:23Well, I can't wait for that
26:24and congratulations on everything else.
26:27It's so nice to see you, Coleman.
26:28Good to see you.
26:29Thank you for bringing it down.
26:30Thank you, man.
26:30Hey, Gabe.
26:31Coleman Domingo, Michael.
26:32Theater's everywhere this Friday
26:33for 24th, New Euphoria.
26:35Episode Sundays on HBO, HBO Max.
26:38Stick around.
26:38We'll be right back
26:39with Scott McArthur.
26:52Our next guest,
26:53a very talented actor
26:54you know from shows
26:55like The Mick,
26:56The Righteous, Gemstones,
26:57and Rooster.
26:58He stars in Running Point.
26:59The second season is streaming
27:01April 23rd on Netflix.
27:02Let's take a look.
27:03I'll tell the producers
27:04that we can't shoot here anymore.
27:09Yo.
27:11Driving through the old hood.
27:12Figured I'd just pop in.
27:13You live 45 minutes away.
27:14Not a thing.
27:16How my two favorite queens doing, huh?
27:17Should we make some mojitos?
27:18Have a kiki?
27:19Are you wearing makeup?
27:20Charlie, my diva.
27:22Have a kiki?
27:22Stop saying kiki, okay?
27:25There's no cameras here.
27:27Are you serious?
27:28I went through full glam for this.
27:30It's like 400 bucks.
27:31Oh, my God.
27:31I gotta go.
27:32They did a terrible job.
27:34Are your kids in the car?
27:35It's fine.
27:36They have their tablets.
27:37Oh, my God.
27:38Please welcome to the show
27:40Scott McArthur, everybody.
27:58I'm so happy you're here.
28:00Well, thank you for having me.
28:01We have known each other
28:02for a very long time.
28:03My brother and your brother
28:04were roommates in Los Angeles
28:07at a bad house.
28:10It was a good comedy house.
28:13It was a good comedy house.
28:15It was very funny people.
28:15A lot of wonderful times
28:16were had there.
28:18I remember once saying about it,
28:19it was one of the few places.
28:20They couldn't get rid of the rats
28:21because the rats' names
28:23were on the lease.
28:24That's true.
28:25That's what it felt like.
28:26The rats paid the rent.
28:27The rats did the grocery shopping.
28:28So we know a lot of the same people,
28:31and yet I feel like
28:32we kind of missed each other.
28:34Like, right when I was
28:35sort of moving out here full-time,
28:36that was when you were moving
28:37from Chicago to L.A.
28:39Yeah, we missed each other
28:41by a couple months.
28:42I think you came to New York
28:43to do SNL.
28:44Yep.
28:45And then I moved in.
28:47I've always thought of myself
28:48as Seth 2.0.
28:50Oh, interesting.
28:51Yeah.
28:51Yeah, okay.
28:52Yeah, but kind of like
28:54the Terminator 2,
28:55but the technology went backwards.
28:57Oh, I see.
28:58Yeah.
28:58Somewhere like Seth 0.2.
29:000.2.
29:02I'm not a numbers guy, Seth.
29:03So, I mean, yeah.
29:05Yeah, it's like I came out
29:06of the machine,
29:07and it was like,
29:07hey, guys, I'm your new roommate.
29:09And they were like,
29:09oh, Jesus.
29:11Do you remember
29:12the first time we met?
29:13I do.
29:14I do.
29:14I was living in the bad house.
29:17Yeah.
29:18And you came to town,
29:20and all you guys
29:21were going out to dinner
29:22at a restaurant
29:23called Genghis Cohen.
29:24Yep, a very, very wonderful
29:26Chinese restaurant.
29:27Unbelievable.
29:28It was around the corner
29:29from the house,
29:29and I remember,
29:31what I specifically remember
29:33that meal is,
29:33it was you,
29:34it was my brother Hayes,
29:36your brother Josh,
29:37Ike Barinholtz,
29:38Dave Stassen,
29:39and I just remember
29:42you guys were so quick,
29:44and it was just like,
29:45pop, pop, pop, pop, pop,
29:45and I just sat there silently,
29:47which is rare,
29:49and I remember thinking
29:51in the middle of the meal,
29:52like, looking around
29:52the restaurant
29:53and just thinking,
29:53I can't keep up with these guys,
29:56but maybe I can work here.
29:57Oh.
29:58Yeah.
29:59You almost applied
30:00to be a busboy
30:01at Genghis Cohen.
30:02I might have filled out
30:03the application.
30:03Yeah, yeah, there you go.
30:04Yeah.
30:05It's worked out very well,
30:06and again,
30:07I'm very lucky
30:08to know your family.
30:09I was at your brother's wedding.
30:11You were the best man.
30:13Ike Barinholtz spoke
30:14at the rehearsal dinner.
30:15Incredibly funny guy.
30:16Super funny.
30:17Crushed the toast.
30:19Brought the house down,
30:20and I knew that he knew he did,
30:22because instead of handing
30:24the microphone back to me,
30:25he crushed it,
30:27he shook his head twice,
30:28and he just flipped the microphone
30:29over his shoulder.
30:31It hit me in the chest,
30:33and then I had to sit there,
30:34and I was like,
30:35thank you, Ike.
30:37Yeah, that was a crazy weekend.
30:39It was a crazy weekend.
30:40It was a great weekend.
30:42It was really funny,
30:43because, of course,
30:43Ike's brother, Johnny,
30:45also came out.
30:46He's an accomplished actor.
30:47I remember you came out,
30:48and it's funny when, like,
30:49younger siblings come out to L.A.,
30:51because, you know,
30:52you're like,
30:53all right, great.
30:53They're going to try, too,
30:54and it's been amazing
30:55how successful you've all been,
30:57but the early days
30:58are not a success build.
30:59Can you talk about your headshots,
31:01your first headshots in L.A.?
31:03Uh, yes.
31:04It's funny that, yeah.
31:07So, when I got out there,
31:09um, look, there's a couple words
31:13you don't want to ever hear
31:14from somebody.
31:15And they are,
31:16hey, I got a guy
31:16who owes me a favor.
31:18Oh, yeah.
31:18Right?
31:19Yeah, that doesn't scream
31:20they're skilled.
31:21No, no.
31:23So, I was with my manager,
31:25who I'm still with today,
31:26and Brady said to me,
31:28he said,
31:29hey, I got a guy
31:29who owes me a favor,
31:30and, uh, you know,
31:32he's going to take
31:32your headshots for free.
31:33Great.
31:34I said, great.
31:34These are not cheap headshots.
31:36Oh, my God.
31:37It was like a couple hundred bucks,
31:38right, and then you have
31:38to have them printed.
31:39It was before the computer.
31:41It was, um, you know.
31:44Someone would have to
31:44etch it into stone.
31:46Yeah.
31:47Yeah.
31:47You'd have to bring
31:48all the stones with you.
31:49Yeah, yeah, yeah.
31:50If your smile was off,
31:51they'd, like, joke her your smile.
31:53Like, yeah.
31:54But, uh, so I called the guy,
31:55and he said,
31:56oh, yeah, man,
31:56I'll take your shots.
31:57But, um, he's like,
31:58let's meet at Jamba Juice
31:59tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
32:00And I said, great.
32:01Yeah.
32:01So I remember I was
32:03driving my brother's car.
32:04I still hadn't had a car.
32:05And, uh, and I was thinking,
32:08I was like,
32:09why are we meeting at Jamba Juice?
32:10Yeah.
32:10This is weird.
32:11I was like, maybe.
32:11We didn't meet at a coffee place.
32:12Yeah.
32:12I mean, a Jamba Juice.
32:13I was like, well,
32:14he's a juice guy.
32:15And, uh, and we get there.
32:16He's got his camera out.
32:18And I walk in.
32:19He's like, he's like,
32:20hey, perfect.
32:21He's like, so first thing
32:22I'm going to do,
32:23I'm going to shoot you
32:23in front of this blue wall.
32:24And then I'm going to shoot you
32:25in front of this yellow wall.
32:27And I'm like,
32:27are we doing the shots here?
32:29And he goes,
32:30he goes, I like the walls.
32:31You know, the walls
32:31are all different.
32:32I said, okay.
32:33And he looks at me
32:34and he goes,
32:36I want you to wear a red shirt.
32:38And I said,
32:39well, I don't have a red shirt.
32:40You know,
32:40I probably have
32:41like one shirt with me.
32:42Yeah.
32:42And he goes,
32:42here, do this.
32:43And he just pops off
32:44his red T-shirt.
32:46Is this an operational Jamba Juice
32:48or like people there for juice?
32:50Oh, yeah.
32:50Okay.
32:51Yeah, because I could tell
32:52because everybody
32:53who was waiting in line
32:54for their juice
32:54is looking at me like,
32:55this poor bastard.
32:57Yeah.
32:57You know?
32:59And so I pop on
33:00his red T-shirt
33:01and we proceed to shoot
33:03for an uncomfortably
33:05long period of time.
33:06Maybe three hours.
33:07Now, I will say,
33:09now I know
33:10this is a Jamba Juice,
33:11if I would have seen that,
33:12I'm like,
33:12that's good.
33:12I like that.
33:15They do have different...
33:17Yeah.
33:19This is my favorite.
33:20I mean...
33:20Yeah.
33:22Well, this was very creative.
33:24If you can see,
33:25that's actually a corner
33:26where the yellow wall
33:28and the green wall meet.
33:31And I believe the direction
33:32on this one was,
33:33give me that big smile.
33:34Yeah.
33:35And then you got a lot of work,
33:36but almost exclusively
33:37in Jamba Juice commercials.
33:39Yes.
33:39Yeah.
33:40You know,
33:41I'm really hoping
33:42I get a gift card
33:43from Jamba Juice
33:44after this.
33:44I would hope so.
33:45This is great.
33:46I mean, although,
33:47they're probably like,
33:47oh, everybody's gonna come
33:49to take headshots here now.
33:50Did you?
33:52Yeah.
33:53Congrats on Running Point.
33:54This is a show
33:55about a fictional
33:56L.A. basketball team
33:58and the siblings
33:59who are sort of
34:00running the team,
34:01you, Kate Hudson,
34:03others.
34:04Do you have
34:05a sibling vibe on set?
34:07Right away.
34:08Yeah?
34:08Really?
34:08From the jump?
34:09Right away.
34:10Well, first,
34:10I got the call
34:11from Ike and Dave,
34:12and they said,
34:13hey, we're making
34:14this show with Mindy,
34:15and we want to know
34:17if you want to play
34:18Kate Hudson's brother.
34:19Yeah.
34:20And I was like,
34:20ugh.
34:23You know,
34:23it was like Major League.
34:24I got a guy
34:25on the other line
34:26for some drywall.
34:27Yeah.
34:28I was like,
34:28yeah, yeah,
34:29of course, of course.
34:30So, you know,
34:31we go through the process
34:32and we do the table read
34:33and everything,
34:33and the first day,
34:35I knew it was gonna work
34:36right away in terms of,
34:38well, hopefully it works,
34:39but I knew it had a chance.
34:42Right away when I got to set
34:44and, you know,
34:46you get nerves.
34:47You know, it's like,
34:48I always tell my kids,
34:49it's like going to school
34:50for the first day
34:51at a new school.
34:52Yeah.
34:52You don't know
34:52who you're gonna sit with
34:53and you don't know,
34:54you know,
34:54who you're gonna connect with
34:55and, you know,
34:56and just, I always tell them,
34:57just smile and be kind
34:58and be present.
35:00So, I'm doing that,
35:01and I look across the set
35:03and I see Kate,
35:04and Kate's in her chair
35:05and she's like this.
35:07She's just like,
35:08really honed in on me.
35:10And I go,
35:11you know,
35:12I'm like, okay, sorry.
35:13I walk over and I say,
35:14hey, is everything okay?
35:16And she goes,
35:19you know what I think?
35:22I think your face
35:24is too big for your head.
35:28And I was like,
35:30oh.
35:30And she's like,
35:31Scott, do you know what I mean?
35:32I was like,
35:33yeah, it's like when you're a kid
35:35and you're cold
35:35and your dad gives you
35:37his sport coat
35:37and it's like hanging off.
35:39And she's like,
35:40yes.
35:41And then,
35:41why does that's happening?
35:42I hear over my shoulder,
35:43I hear Ike go,
35:44if you think his face is weird,
35:46wait till you see his body.
35:47I'm like,
35:48what?
35:49She's like,
35:49do you have a weird body?
35:50I'm like,
35:51yeah,
35:51I got a weird body.
35:54So, Kate took issue,
35:55took fashion issue with the reason.
35:57You did a Q&A about the show.
35:58These are lovely.
35:59People come,
35:59ask questions.
36:00And,
36:01all right,
36:02so this is,
36:02this is how you're addressed.
36:06No socks.
36:07I mean,
36:07this is a real choice.
36:08That's the response I was going for.
36:10I'm not going to lie.
36:11So she,
36:12she noticed,
36:13because it was obviously
36:14really clear
36:15that you weren't wearing socks.
36:17What was her,
36:17what was her advice to you
36:19when she saw you weren't wearing socks?
36:20She told me to go home.
36:23She,
36:24right before the lights went down
36:25and the screening started,
36:26it was a beautiful theater,
36:27the Egyptian theater,
36:28it's a historic place in Los Angeles.
36:30She just,
36:30she looked across the aisle.
36:31I was sitting like this,
36:33as you do.
36:33My kids were there,
36:34first time they've ever come
36:35to a premiere with me,
36:36my wife,
36:37and she goes,
36:37she leans over the wall,
36:39and she goes,
36:39Scotty,
36:40Scotty.
36:40And I just look,
36:41and she went,
36:42no socks.
36:43And I went,
36:43I went,
36:44oh, yeah.
36:44I literally actually just forgot
36:46to wear socks.
36:47I thought I had blue ones,
36:49I didn't,
36:49so I was like,
36:49forget it,
36:50I won't wear socks.
36:50And then she goes,
36:51Kate, Kate.
36:52My wife's also named Kate.
36:53My wife leans forward.
36:54She goes,
36:54what?
36:54And she goes,
36:55how could you let him
36:56leave the house like that?
36:57And Kate's like,
36:58and then she goes,
37:00go home.
37:02I was like,
37:03what?
37:03She said,
37:03go home now.
37:05So when we did the Q&A,
37:08I had to,
37:09I had to own the situation.
37:11Yeah.
37:11So I,
37:12you know,
37:13I went up.
37:13Yeah.
37:13And I really,
37:14I really leaned into it.
37:15Yeah,
37:16I think that,
37:16by the way,
37:17I think owning it like this
37:18is better.
37:18Now it looks like a choice,
37:20not a guy who forgot socks.
37:21Yeah.
37:22I think that's very smart.
37:23This is a very good way
37:24to play it.
37:24Yeah,
37:24and that shirt,
37:25I've had for 20 years,
37:27and on the way over,
37:28I thought it would look cool
37:29if I popped the collar.
37:30It does not.
37:31I know that now.
37:32Yeah.
37:33Yeah,
37:34my mom's going to have
37:35a lot of notes
37:35about this whole segment.
37:37Well,
37:37I'm a big fan of hers as well.
37:38Yes.
37:38So that's,
37:40I look forward
37:40to what her feedback is.
37:41When your brother Hayes was here,
37:43we talked about how
37:44he played football at Bowdoin,
37:46and he had a granular knowledge
37:49of his stats,
37:50even today.
37:51He was a legend.
37:51He was a legend.
37:52Yeah.
37:52You played a little lacrosse,
37:54you played a little hockey
37:55in college.
37:56I did.
37:56I played on both teams.
37:57Was this,
37:59the genetics consistent?
38:01Were you a legend?
38:02Well,
38:03I didn't keep my stats.
38:04Okay.
38:05You didn't keep your stats.
38:06No.
38:06He kept his stats.
38:08He's an all-time touchdown leader,
38:09and, you know,
38:10every other category
38:11you can think of
38:12as a quarterback.
38:12I didn't keep my stats
38:13because I didn't actually play,
38:15so.
38:16But you were,
38:16you were on two teams.
38:18I was on two teams.
38:18I was the backup goalie
38:19on both teams.
38:20And you never,
38:21a backup goalie
38:22usually gets in.
38:23You never got in a game
38:24in all your time in college?
38:26Backup goalies get in.
38:27And I was the back up.
38:28Oh, I see.
38:29I see.
38:30There was a second string goalie.
38:32Yeah.
38:32And then there was
38:33a backup goalie.
38:34I think I was what they might call
38:35a way backup.
38:36Okay, gotcha.
38:37No, I did get in,
38:39I played in a preseason game.
38:41I think it was my sophomore year.
38:43You know,
38:43you get the nod.
38:44You're so excited.
38:46And I took a ball.
38:49You know,
38:49a lacrosse ball is quite hard.
38:51Yeah, they're no joke.
38:51It's vulcanized rubber.
38:54And I took a ball
38:56off the throat
38:58about, yeah, yeah, thank you.
39:00That's the response.
39:01See, I knew at some point
39:03we would get to understand
39:04each other.
39:05No, I took it off the throat.
39:08I collapsed.
39:10You know, it hurt.
39:11And all I remember
39:13when I was on the turf
39:14and my esophagus was,
39:15you know, smashed into my spine,
39:18I just remember hearing
39:19my coach from the sideline go,
39:22well, I didn't ask him
39:22to be a goalie.
39:24Oh.
39:25And, you know,
39:26at that moment,
39:27I kind of like Rocky Balboa'd it.
39:29Yeah, yeah, yeah.
39:29I slowly got up.
39:30I'm like, I'm okay.
39:31I'm okay.
39:31And as I was saying
39:32to, you know, my defenseman,
39:34and, you know,
39:34because the guys care,
