Sara's lawyers defend P6B transactions, say ongoing impeach proceedings 'unconstitutional'  The impeachment lawyers of Vice President Sara Duterte say that the unreported P6 billion bank transactions in her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) are aggregated transactions from 2006 to 2025, which could result in 'bloated' figures. In a press briefing on April 23, 2026,, Defense panel spokesman Michael Wesley Poa said that the Anti-Money Laundering Council presented the aggregate of all transactions during the years covered. He added that if both outflows and inflows were 'bloated,' it means that the net amount would be bloated. The lawyers also reiterated that Duterte's continued non-appearance at the House of Representatives is based on their position that the ongoing proceedings presided over by the justice committee was 'unconstitutional.' 00:47I think he also knows, and I'm certain that he is aware,

00:51na ang tamang venue o ang tamang panahon

00:56para mag-conduct ng trial o para sagutin at magbigay kami ng evidensya ang vicepresidente

01:06ay hindi sa Committee of Justice.

01:08Ito ay before the impeachment court, ibig sabihin sa Senado.

01:15Hindi naman ito ano, I think this is something important that we all need to understand.

01:21Hindi maaari na sinasabi lang natin, o dapat dito kayo sa Komite, dito kayo sa Komite.

01:26Kasi kailangan lang natin basahin ng Constitution.

01:29Sino ba ang impeachment court?

01:30Ito ba ang Committee of Justice?

01:32Hindi.

01:33Ito ba ang House of Representatives?

01:36Hindi rin.

01:37So, sino?

01:38According to the Constitution,

01:40ang impeachment court, if that even will be constituted, ay ang Senado.

01:46So, ang ibig sabihin,

01:49the defense and the vicepresident are ready to respond in detail,

01:54again, before the proper forum,

01:56and during a fair trial.
