00:00Hey buddy, looks like you had some fun in the great outdoors.
00:04As adorable as those paw prints look, your mama still needs to clean them.
00:11Spreading soda over the carpet and then vacuuming it works like magic for such cases.
00:18Artistic people can be messy sometimes.
00:21No judgment here, I know it's all part of the creative process.
00:26But this hack will actually help save time from cleaning only to paint more.
00:31I think that's more than enough laundry detergent.
00:36Yep, she agrees with me.
00:38There's a way to make sure he uses the right amount next time.
00:42Just put the ice tray in the freezer and you'll have yourself jelly detergent cubes.
00:50Hey, this will save you money too, you know.
00:53Cleaning your brushes is such a bore.
00:56It's definitely something that tests one's patience.
01:00This shaving foam hack will save you a lot of time.
01:04I feel like that amount of hair will clog the sink though.
01:08Remember what parents always say, wash your hands before eating something.
01:15But looks like that's not an easy task with those melted soap bars.
01:20A couple of rubber bands will help you save your soap.
01:25It won't be touching water all the time and therefore, it'll last longer.
01:32Oh man, I hate it when bottles get all dirty inside.
01:36If you're not Mr. Fantastic with the ability to stretch your body into any shape, then this looks like an
01:42impossible task.
01:46Hey, wait, maybe I was looking at it the wrong way.
01:49Magneto's powers will work perfectly fine here.
01:53I feel like you'll need a stronger magnet, however.
01:57Wow, this bottle looks brand new now.
02:00Don't you just hate that cooking and cleaning takes forever, but eating the dish you made takes like 15 minutes?
02:09Guess that guy leaves all the hard work to the lady.
02:13Don't worry miss, there's a way you can avoid this disaster.
02:18Just cover the surfaces with stretch film and that's it.
02:22Now you don't need to get anxious about all the cleaning you'll have to do later.
02:28Hope this won't cause you to be late for your work.
02:32Because how are you going to explain this to your boss?
02:36You can't just say, I had to wait for the stinky odor to go away.
02:43It's always a real struggle to get the corners, am I right?
02:48But it's nothing a couple of straws can't fix.
02:52No dust left behind is the motto.
02:54You can firmly clean all the nooks and crannies that the regular vacuum head can't get to.
03:03If you're a jar collector like I am, then you already got everything you'll need for this hack.
03:11This is what being smart looks like, everyone.
03:14By the way, looks like you've been postponing doing the dishes for a while now, huh?
03:21Don't worry, no judgments, we've all been there.
03:25Those toothbrushes were basically swimming in there.
03:29But the glass filling up with water is inevitable, really.
03:33However, Orbeez balls can make the process a lot slower.
03:38Somebody needs to replace the paper towel.
03:42But don't head to the store just yet.
03:44I suggest you ditch paper towels altogether and go for this reusable option.
03:50You'll be saving a lot of bucks.
03:53Thank me later.
03:55Whoa, have you been collecting dirty makeup sponges or what?
04:00Don't use them until they're all clean.
04:02Otherwise, I'm pretty sure they'll give you pimples.
04:07Looks like this is gonna take a while.
04:09But the satisfaction you'll get once you see them all clean will be worth it.
04:16These kind of look like Easter eggs to me.
04:19By the way, do you really need that many sponges to do your makeup?
04:25It's all fun and games until someone spills all the glitter on the floor.
04:30Worry not, we got you.
04:32Hey, good to see you recycling.
04:35No, you don't need a bigger bin, trust me.
04:38All you need is to know this one hack.
04:41And let's get this one thing straight.
04:43I know this is science, but it sure feels like magic.
04:48Honey, I shrunk the trash.
04:50Look at the difference here.
04:52It's a relief to see you don't have a pile of dirty dishes like the lady before.
04:57But how are you going to explain that sink?
05:01Seems like you've been ignoring it for quite some time now.
05:06That's why you need something strong to scrub there.
05:11But I have a better solution.
05:13One that won't tire you.
05:16Just apply a coat of dish soap and soda mixture all around the sink and wait.
05:21I wouldn't believe how it works wonders if I didn't see it with my own eyes.
05:27You're gonna hurt your back and knees cleaning like this.
05:33You know, robot vacuum cleaners don't need coffee breaks, right?
05:37So put that thing to work.
05:40In the meantime, you can just relax and maybe even start reading the book you bought six months ago.
05:47No matter how many times you clean the stove, it always gets dirty at the end of the day, right?
05:55Well, not anymore.
05:57Hey, I think I'm gonna give this a try using glitter glue.
06:00It'll help make things more fun.
06:03You should have bought a trash bin with a lid.
06:06To avoid the awful stench, you know?
06:10Although this hack won't make the trash smell good or anything, it will at least help keep your bin fresh
06:15and nice.
06:19I know this is not a food hacks video, but that doesn't stop me from wanting some snacks now.
06:26Even if you're too old to play with slimes, it might be a good idea to keep one at home
06:30for stuff like this.
06:39If I were you, I would still disinfect that with antibacterial wipes or something, just in case.
06:45Hey, it's her turn to pick the movie now.
06:49Uh-oh, someone's forgotten to add laundry powder to the shopping list.
06:54That's okay.
06:55You can still make your own with everyday things, such as baking soda and a soap bar.
07:01This lady is one of the lucky ones because she has a dishwasher.
07:06Placing a piece of lemon, even one that's been juiced, will help freshen the load and leave your dishes looking
07:11shinier.
07:14This is why I never wear white socks if I'm going to visit someone else's house.
07:20Because I don't really want to see how dirty their floors might be, you know?
07:27Using bleach for situations like this may help, but it might also ruin your garments.
07:34That's why this hack is the better option to make white clothes look great again.
07:40You might want to clean the microwave after you're done, though.
07:44This phone case looks like it's been through some tough stuff.
07:50Let's give it the second chance it deserves.
07:53All you need to do is apply WD-40 spray, pour some soda, and rinse it out.
07:59By the way, if you have sensitive skin, you might want to wear protective gloves to avoid irritation.
08:06Better safe than sorry.
08:08Cleaning stubborn stains on a glass stovetop can be tricky.
08:12There's always the risk of causing scratches on the surface.
08:18That's why any type of scrubbing or scraping action is not advised.
08:23Did you know that according to one poll, an average person spends more than six days a year washing dishes?
08:31Then there's all the other cleaning stuff that needs to be done.
08:36But knowing the right hacks will save you a lot of time and make your life so much easier.
08:43Wow, your shoes are definitely cleaner than this house.
08:47Who knew shoelaces would work like a charm when it comes to getting rid of all the dust and rust?
08:54Is it time to go to bed yet or are you tired of all the work you've done around the
08:58house?
09:00I was being sarcastic.
09:02Your partner did all the work.
09:05So saving her toothbrush is the least you can do.
09:09If you see someone putting ketchup on some car, it doesn't mean you're witnessing them preparing a prank.
09:15It means they're just taking care of their car.
09:19Yup, it goes great with hamburgers and hot dogs, but it goes even better with cars since it has ingredients
09:26that are good at removing rust.
09:28Rust occurs when the metal gets exposed to moisture, oxygen, and heat, and due to weather conditions, it's hard to
09:36avoid it.
09:37When you leave rust for a longer time and don't deal with it, it will continue to degrade the metal.
09:44So you need to get rid of it before your car becomes physically useless.
09:49That's when ketchup comes in.
09:52Its key ingredient is tomatoes, and they have many nutrients similar to those you can find in oranges and some
09:59other citrus fruits.
10:01For instance, citric acid can help you remove rust from metal surfaces since it eats through rust.
10:08We're not talking about the cars only.
10:11You can use it on metallic kitchenwares, furniture parts, jewelry, and rust spots on generally any metallic item.
10:19You can combine it with washing soda.
10:21It's not quite effective against rust, but when you combine it with ketchup, it'll do the work.
10:28Mix these two and apply them to the rusted area.
10:31Leave it like that for about half an hour and wash it with a wet cloth or sponge.
10:38You can combine ketchup with salt instead, or just apply a lot of it on the rusty area without using
10:45any additional ingredients.
10:48Ketchup removes tarnish from brass copper, too.
10:51Put it on brass hardware on doors and cabinets, or some accessories such as bowls and candlesticks for 10 minutes
10:59to make it all shine.
11:01And also, you don't put it on meat just because of taste.
11:05Ketchup breaks down its fibers, which means it makes it more tender.
11:10If you've left a pot on the stove and your food burned, once again, take ketchup.
11:16Its acids will ease all the scrubbing and help you with grease.
11:21Just leave it over the night, and you'll be able to wash the pot more easily.
11:26Or, keep those small packages of ketchup we all end up having from fast food orders in the freezer.
11:32The ketchup won't be as hard as an ice cube as it freezes, so it will be good for soothing
11:38insect bites or similar things.
11:41Okay, enough with ketchup already.
11:43I'm getting hungry.
11:44Your home has more regular things that can do magic tricks.
11:48Like, if you have a house or a big terrace and want to make a nice flower wall, try old
11:54mattress springs.
11:55Just hang them on the wall and let your imagination run wild with flowers.
12:01An old flower sifter can still come in handy, for example, as a planter.
12:06Even if you don't have one, you might find it at a garage sale or a thrift store.
12:12Wallpaper is making its big comeback when it comes to home design.
12:16Maybe you can try something different and use some old books with torn pages.
12:21You just need to learn the basics of hanging wallpaper.
12:24And voila!
12:25You get a new cool place for your old books.
12:30There's a solution for the remains of an old book.
12:33Don't worry.
12:33You can have blocks where you'll keep your kitchen knives.
12:36It's pretty original, don't you think?
12:40Cleaning blinds can be frustrating.
12:42But the next time you do it, try doing it with a sock over your hand.
12:47Hands are kind of perfectly shaped for getting all those nooks and crannies on the blinds.
12:52And the sock will do the rest.
12:56Here's something you wouldn't expect.
12:58Ice cubes can help you remove gum from carpet, clothing, and hair.
13:03Just put your clothes in the sink and add ice cubes.
13:07Leave it like that for a while.
13:09Ice will freeze the gum, so you can chip it away more easily.
13:13If the gum got stuck on the carpet, leave ice cubes right in the critical spot and remove the gum
13:19with a butter knife.
13:21It's a little bit harder to remove it from hair though, but still possible.
13:25Just wrap the ice and parts of your hair with the gum in a washcloth until the gum gets frozen.
13:32When you get there, you should be able to break apart the gum and free your hair, using your fingers.
13:39Or, next time you have to deal with a splinter, just take one ice cube to numb that area before
13:45you even start doing anything.
13:48Vacuuming can't suck all that dust out of your cushions, but a tennis racket can.
13:54It's a tool firm enough to beat the dust, but at the same time, it has holes where dust can
13:59go through.
14:02If you have some old CD spindles you don't use anymore, bring one of them back to life, this time
14:08as a bagel tote.
14:10It doesn't take up a lot of space in your backpack, plus you can close it so your bagel doesn't
14:16fall apart.
14:17It doesn't look like that at first, but there's a lot you can do with a tennis ball too.
14:23For example, use it as a bottle opener for twist-off bottle caps or maybe sticky jar lids.
14:30Cut along the seam of a ball so you'll have a tool coated with rubber on the inside.
14:35It gives a great grip.
14:38And it doesn't stop here for tennis balls.
14:40You can cap your chair legs to protect your floor.
14:43You can leave some in a pool if you have one too.
14:47Pools quickly become very dirty if you're using them frequently.
14:50And tennis balls can absorb some of the oil coming from the people and the rest of the goop that
14:55floats on the surface.
14:58Another frustrating task is removing floor scuff marks.
15:01Yup, a tennis ball once again.
15:04Just place it on a stick.
15:05It works like an eraser.
15:08It can also be a great tool for massage.
15:11You can try with your back.
15:12Lie down on the ball on the floor and place the tennis ball on the spots where you feel the
15:17most pressure.
15:18Or maybe put it against the wall and massage stiff parts.
15:23Or something I need, a tennis ball as a holder where I can keep my reminders.
15:28Just cut a slit into its side and place your message inside.
15:32It can be a cool gift too.
15:34Or add a small metal or wooden piece so you have a key holder too.
15:39Bread tabs can be great for labeling cords and never getting lost down there with your power strip.
15:45Plastic bread tabs are sturdy and there's enough room on them to write what the cable is for and easily
15:52clip it around the end of a cord.
15:54Plus they come in different colors so you'll easily recognize them and know which electrical device you can turn off.
16:02You don't have to immediately throw away an empty milk jug.
16:06Just take sharp scissors and cut off its top.
16:09Then clean up the cut so you're sure there are no sharp edges.
16:12Now you have a new scoop for potting soil, food for your dog, or whatever you need it for.
16:18A bobby pin is a great nail holder.
16:21You can easily get distracted and hammer a finger when working with tiny nails.
16:26So it would be better to go with a common bobby pin to keep your fingers at a safe distance.
16:32If you don't have enough space for your cookbook while preparing a meal,
16:37take a pants hanger and attach your recipes there.
16:40Also, if you have a broken pants hanger, you don't need to throw it away.
16:45Or at least, not all the pieces.
16:48You can remove clips and use them for pasta or some other open packs in your kitchen.
16:54Don't throw away an empty ketchup bottle.
16:56You can use it for a pancake mix so it doesn't get too messy when you're preparing this delicious breakfast.
17:04It can get tricky to carry your stuff at the beach,
17:06so take an old lotion bottle and clean it out so you can put your money, phone, and keys inside.
17:13Less chance someone will take any of this stuff even if they manage to take a peek inside your bag.
17:21We know how much homeowners love to make their houses picture perfect.
17:25It can soon become a struggle, though, once you've tried to flatten out those pesky corners of a new rug.
17:31But there is one genius trick that can help.
17:34Just plop a few ice cubes and a heavy object on the corner, and voila!
17:38Flat rug.
17:39No more tripping over the rolled-up edges.
17:43Sitting in your car, frozen and grumpy, watching your window slowly defrost is about as fun as watching paint dry.
17:50And let's not forget the disaster that is wiping the mist off the inside.
17:55But hey, if you don't want to risk getting slapped with a fine, you better give this funky demisting trick
18:00a try.
18:01People have tried it all, but apparently, it was the cat litter that won the condensation game.
18:06Just grab an old sock or pair of tights.
18:09Fill them up with cat litter.
18:11Tie it up and plop it under your car's windows.
18:14It's so effective that it should do the trick in just 10 minutes.
18:18The cat litter works by absorbing the moisture in the air.
18:22Cleaning our stoves ain't fun either, let's be honest.
18:25But fear not, because one cleaning guru on TikTok has come to the rescue with a genius trick that'll make
18:31cleaning your stove a breeze.
18:34All you need is some oven spray, cling film, and a lot of patience.
18:38Start by spraying some cleaning product on the stove.
18:42Then, cover the whole thing in cling film.
18:45Here's where your patience will be needed.
18:46You'll have to wait a whole day for the cleaning product to work its magic.
18:50But trust me, once you remove that cling film, the stains will have melted off.
18:55That leftover mess on your stove can be scrubbed off easily now.
18:59Finish the job using a regular cloth for the rest of the grind.
19:04It's time you forget about fancy schmancy car trash cans.
19:08Why waste your money on those when you can repurpose a plastic cereal container?
19:13It's small enough to fit in your car, and the flip-top opening means your trash won't go flying all
19:18over the place when you take sharp turns.
19:21Plus, just line it with a plastic grocery bag, and you're ready to go.
19:26Feel like your feet need a bit of pampering?
19:29You can skip the expensive spa day at your local salon.
19:32All you need is a sanitary pad, some toothpaste, and baking soda.
19:37Mix the toothpaste with the baking soda powder and spread it evenly on the pad.
19:42Place it on the soles of your feet and slip a sock on so it's nice and snuggly.
19:47The pad should keep the mixture and moisture in so you don't make a mess all over your house.
19:53After an hour or two, rinse off the toothpaste mixture with plenty of water.
19:58You'll notice how soft the soles of your feet have become.
20:01For that extra step, add some moisturizer too.
20:05Those trusty sanitary pads can be used for all sorts of stuff around your house too, like for freshening up
20:12your drawers.
20:13Just spritz some perfume on a pad, place it next to your clothes of choice, and voila!
20:19Your gym clothes, for example, will smell like a fragrant bouquet.
20:22And don't forget to throw one in your gym bag too.
20:26Oh boy, time to give those lampshades the love they deserve.
20:30Grab a trusty lint roller and watch in amazement as you unveil a whole new world of colors underneath that
20:36forever dust.
20:38Who knew your lampshades were secretly chameleon?
20:42Say goodbye to dog hair and hello to your new household best friend, the rubber squeegee brush.
20:48This bad boy can snatch up so much fur from your carpet that you'll be wondering if you even own
20:53a pet.
20:54Just stroke it short and quick over your rug and watch it unleash a furry storm.
21:00And if you're wondering about your hardwood floors, fear not.
21:03The rubber bristles work like magic to create one giant fur ball.
21:09Save yourself from cleaning cabinets and furniture tops by hooking them up with fashionable hats.
21:15They're made out of wax paper or paper bags.
21:18The dirt and grease will stick to your new accessories and when it's time for a new look, just swap
21:23them out every few months.
21:26You know that feeling when you finally peel off a bumper sticker or parking permit, but then you're left with
21:31a sticky mess?
21:32There's a simple solution though.
21:34Slap a wet piece of newspaper on top of that gunk and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
21:40Then poof!
21:41The glue will be as soft as a fluffy cloud and you can wipe it away with ease.
21:46If your dishwasher is stinking up your kitchen, it's time to get your detective hat on.
21:51Check that filter for any leftovers lurking in there.
21:54Then add a splash of vinegar to your next hot wash cycle.
21:58Those pesky food particles could be the culprits behind your dishwasher's funky fragrance.
22:04Get ready to be a Vaseline wizard.
22:07Say goodbye to pesky polish smudges with a simple solution.
22:11Slather some Vaseline around your nails before you go to town with a brush.
22:16Once you're done, wipe away the excess without the need for any nail polish remover.
22:21And if you're feeling fancy, make that perfume last even longer by adding a touch of Vaseline to your neck
22:27and wrists.
22:28It's like a scent superhero, keeping those fragrance molecules from flying away too soon.
22:34Have you checked out your shower curtain lately?
22:37It might be looking pretty grimy and gross.
22:40Toss that bad boy in the washing machine with a couple of towels and voila!
22:44No more soap scum stains!
22:46The towels will help with scrubbing away all that mess while they're tumbling in the washing machine.
22:52Say goodbye to single socks with a strip of foam pipe insulation.
22:57Measure and cut each piece.
22:59Then place it in that sneaky gap between your washer and dryer or wall.
23:04Those pesky socks will never go missing again.
23:08Got a wobbly table that's cramping your style?
23:12Your trusty bottle cork is here to save the day.
23:16Slice off a piece of that bad boy, glue it to the wobbly leg, and voila!
23:22You've got yourself a sturdy surface to rest your drink on.
23:27A hammer is more than just a smashing tool.
23:31The back of this tool can actually hold a nail for you.
23:36No more risking your fingers or giving yourself a thumbectomy.
23:41Just slide it into the claw and bam!
23:44You're ready to nail it!
23:47Want to know the saucy way to pick up a sizzling lid?
23:51Ditch those boring oven mitts and grab yourself a pair of tongs.
23:56But wait, don't just go in head first.
23:59Use the middle.
24:01Trust me, it's hot and it's effective.
24:05Care to find out how to keep your dressing gown from slipping and sliding all over the place?
24:12Got you covered!
24:13Instead of going through all the loops, just place the cord through the front ones.
24:19You don't even need it to be wrapped around you.
24:22All the business will be in the front.
24:26Tie that cord up nice and tight, and you'll be strutting around in no time.
24:32Bet you didn't know the right way to light a multi-wit candle.
24:37You'll never hurt the tips of your fingers again.
24:40And truth is, you don't light them one by one.
24:44Just light the first one.
24:46Then angle the candle in the right position so it lights up the other ones too.
24:53So, apparently, we've all been using deodorant wrong.
24:58Who knew?
24:59You're supposed to lather that stuff on before going to bed.
25:04That's because our underarms are supposed to soak it in overnight for maximum effectiveness.
25:13I'm here to save you from the USB struggle bus.
25:16You know that symbol on the cord?
25:19Yeah, it's not just there for decoration.
25:22Align the seam with the opposite edge of the tongue, and voila!
25:26You're in business.
25:27No more flipping it upside down and sideways like a crazy person.
25:32Thank me later.
25:33Even when you listen to the instructions and create a strong password for any of your online accounts,
25:39you're still not entirely safe from hackers.
25:42They always come up with new ways to crack what you think might finally be a good and secure password.
25:49For example, there's a password manager tool that has taken a look at more than 60 million passwords from data
25:56breaches.
25:59It turns out the majority of people choose passwords that aren't that unique.
26:04I love you, Ferrari, and Password1234 are some of the most popular ones, together with Star Wars.
26:13For hackers, these are really not difficult to guess.
26:16Plus, they have special tools that help them with cracking passwords.
26:22For example, one takes a list of dictionary words and then uses them to find out passwords.
26:29With this tool, you can try millions of words in a pretty short time.
26:33It's able to do some sneaky things, too, such as replacing an E with 3, or an A with an
26:41at sign.
26:44This tool also noticed that there were a lot of people who believed they were unique and creative with their
26:49passwords
26:50because they used a tactic we call password walking.
26:54It's when your fingers walk across the keyboard,
26:57and you create a password using keys that are next to each other.
27:01For example, QWERTY or ASDFG.
27:06It may seem meaningless enough to be safe, but you're not the only one who's thought of it.
27:11And hackers know it.
27:13They can upload basically any number of different variations into some of their tools to test them out.
27:19So it's just a matter of time before they find out what your password is.
27:29Here's a big no-no.
27:31Using the same password for multiple websites.
27:34Hackers love when you do that,
27:36because once they figure out one password,
27:38they can use it to access all your other accounts, too.
27:42Let's say your base password is Porsche.
27:45Then you add a few numbers and symbols to the end
27:48to create a unique password for each site you use,
27:51like Porsche 3% 5% for Facebook,
27:56or Porsche 5$7 carat for Twitter.
28:03Most of us use the same principle at some point.
28:06The thing is that hackers are not going for your bank account or WorkVPN first,
28:12even though one of the main goals is to get there.
28:15They'll use their special tools to try out lots and lots of different usernames and passwords
28:21on websites that might not have the best security,
28:24such as an online forum you often visit,
28:27or maybe an e-commerce site where you've had some shopping lately.
28:32All they have to do is try different variations of your base password,
28:37like Porsche 1 or Porsche 123,
28:40and sooner or later, they'll crack the code
28:43and gain access to all your accounts.
28:46And if they get lucky and guess your login info for one of those sites,
28:51they can then use that info to try and access more important sites.
28:57And we're not talking about some genius hackers here.
29:01They use simple tricks, like checking your social media profiles.
29:05If you've ever mentioned your dog's name or your kid's birthdate on Facebook, for example,
29:11a hacker could use that info to guess your passwords.
29:14So, chappy123 is out.
29:19So, what's the solution here?
29:21First, stop trying to come up with some unique passwords based on things in your life.
29:27Instead, use a password manager to generate strong, random passwords for all your accounts.
29:33And make sure those passwords are long and include a variety of characters,
29:38not just lowercase letters.
29:41Plus, it's much safer to create unique, random passwords for each site you use.
29:47That way, even if a hacker does manage to crack one of your passwords,
29:52they won't be able to access all your other accounts as well.
29:55And you won't have to remember all those crazy passwords yourself.
29:59The password manager will do it for you.
30:05Also, it's better to have a long password.
30:08The tools hackers use crack shorter passwords with lowercase letters way faster.
30:13If you add only one asterisk and one capital letter,
30:17it will change the processing time for, let's say,
30:21a password with eight characters from 2.4 days to 2.1 centuries.
30:28Here's another scam they use to get your password.
30:32Let's say you're playing a game of Capture the Flag,
30:35and the other team manages to break into your fort and steal your flag.
30:40They now know exactly where your fort is and how to get in.
30:45That's basically what hackers do in data breaches.
30:49They break into a company's fort, their database,
30:53and steal all the sensitive information they can find,
30:56like your passwords, credit card details,
30:59and even your social security number.
31:03Then, they sell this information to other bad guys on the dark net,
31:08who can use it to pretend to be you
31:10and steal your money or even your identity.
31:13Stay up to date on news of data breaches
31:15and change your passwords immediately
31:17if one of your accounts was affected.
31:19And if you receive an email about a data breach,
31:23don't respond to it.
31:24Instead, visit the company's website
31:27or call their official customer support number
31:29to verify the situation.
31:33Phishing is when these thieves send you fake emails
31:36that look like they're from important people or companies,
31:40like the president or your bank.
31:42They might even ask you to click on a link
31:45that takes you to a fake website
31:47that looks real, but it's actually a trap.
31:51If you fall for their tricks
31:53and give them your password or personal information,
31:56they can use it to sneak into your computer
31:58and steal more stuff.
32:00Yikes!
32:01Don't reply to strange messages
32:03or click on weird links.
32:05If you're not sure if an email is real or fake,
32:08do some detective work
32:09and contact the sender directly
32:11through their official website.
32:13And remember,
32:14never, ever give away
32:16your personal information to anyone,
32:18even if they claim to be your long-lost cousin
32:20or a famous celebrity.
32:24Have you ever gotten an email
32:26that says something like,
32:28reset your password now,
32:30but you don't remember asking for it?
32:33Yep, hackers once again.
32:36They send you fake emails
32:37that look like they're from a website you use,
32:40like Facebook or Amazon.
32:42They'll say something like,
32:44your account has been hacked.
32:46Reset your password now to be safe.
32:50But if you click on the link they provide,
32:52it'll take you to a fake website that looks real,
32:55and hackers will be able to see
32:57any information you put in there.
32:59So if something in your email seems weird,
33:02it's probably a scam.
33:04Check for signs of fraud,
33:06like spelling mistakes or strange designs.
33:09And always make sure to check
33:11the sender's email address
33:12to see if it matches the website
33:14they're claiming to be from.
33:18If hackers manage to get your passwords,
33:20they can cause serious issues
33:22to your reputation, finances,
33:24and other things related to your online identity.
33:27That means access to your social media accounts,
33:30email, personal identifiable information,
33:33and more.
33:36Let's play detective
33:38and spot the signs of a hacked password.
33:40First, if your password suddenly stops working,
33:44it might mean a hacker has changed it.
33:46So if you're locked out of your account for no reason,
33:49it's time to investigate.
33:53Next, if your computer starts acting slow and sluggish,
33:57it could be a sign that it's been infected
34:00with password-stealing malware.
34:02Another thing to watch out for
34:04is finding your personal information
34:06on the dark web.
34:07That's like the sketchy black market of the internet
34:10where hackers sell stolen data.
34:13If you see your info for sale there,
34:15it's time to take action.
34:19Have you ever heard of ransomware?
34:21It's a type of malware
34:22that locks you out of your own computer
34:25and demands money if you want to regain control.
34:28Yikes!
34:28In Costa Rica,
34:30hackers even attacked local authorities
34:32with this nasty stuff.
34:36Last but not least,
34:38if your friends or family
34:39start receiving strange messages from you online,
34:42it's a red flag
34:43that someone else might be using your accounts.
34:46So if your BFF gets a message from you
34:49about buying a Nigerian prince's yacht,
34:52it's probably time to change your passwords.
