00:18Had to hit my cacau this morning. I even got my cacau shirt on.
00:21You see I'm repping. Be on the Twitch and YouTube early this morning.
00:25Man, Hawks tie up the series, steal home court advantage away from the New York Knicks.
00:31They win 107-106 last night in what was a phenomenal game, phenomenal fight from the Atlanta Hawks to come
00:41back.
00:42They go down as much as, I think, 16 at one point, definitely 13, but man, oh man, hey, we
00:51got to start putting some more respect on C.J. McCollum's name.
00:54Certified bucket, C.J. McCollum, the certified bucket getter, C.J. McCollum, leads the Hawks to a victory, and now
01:06the series shifts to the ATL in Atlanta.
01:10Think about this.
01:12All the Hawks have to do, and again, this is obviously a lot easier said than done, so I understand
01:18that when I say this,
01:19but all the Hawks have to do is win at home.
01:24They did the hard part.
01:26They got a game in New York.
01:29They went to New York and accomplished their mission, get one of the two games in Madison Square Garden,
01:37and they did that last night.
01:42Man, you know, at 5 a.m., having a show at 5 a.m., we all know, it can be
01:50rough at times.

02:19win last night,
02:20and there are so many reasons that we're about to get into to feel good about what the Atlanta Hawks

04:35bed right now as well.
04:37All right, let's get back into the Atlanta Hawks again.
04:41Again, they tie up the series with the Knicks, 1-1, steal home court advantage away from the Knicks with
04:48their win in Madison Square Garden last night.
04:51Final score, 107-106.
04:54I will take your calls because why the heck not?
04:58We celebrating this morning.
05:00404-726-0929, phone lines open right now, right now, if you want to, call in and give your take
05:09on the Hawks' big 107-106 win over the New York Knicks last night.
05:16And you already know, when we talk about this game, we have to start with C.J. McCollum, the certified
05:25bucket getter.
05:2712-22 from the field, only 3-10 from three, but he made them when we really needed them to
05:34make them.
05:34And he finishes with 32 points, had six assists as well.
05:41C.J. McCollum, we don't have him, we lose.
05:46And if we don't have C.J., these two games, unfortunately, aren't even close.
05:53That's all there is to say.
05:56He was the catalyst, and he was the guy that helped stop the bleeding in game one, and was a
06:02big part of the reason that you were even in the game, in game one.
06:07And then he was absolutely the main reason.
06:10And we're getting to some other guys that contributed, because Jonathan Kaminga did have a good night last night, and
06:15I got some thoughts on him.
06:16But without C.J. McCollum last night, you lose, and it's not even close.
06:21Point blank, period.
06:26And I'll say this.
06:27I have heard a lot of commentary, not negative commentary about C.J. McCollum, but I've heard, you know, oh,
06:37it can't continue to be C.J.
06:39Jalen Johnson, Nikhil Alexander-Walker got to step up, which they do.
06:43Don't get me wrong.
06:45Jalen Johnson, Nikhil Alexander-Walker absolutely have to step up.
06:48And Nikhil, shout out to him, at least he's making the clutch threes.
06:52He made another clutch three last night, and he obviously made a clutch three in game one, too.
06:58And that was a part of that 11-0 run that helped them cut it down to eight after they
07:01went down 19.
07:04So, Nikhil is making some clutch shots, for sure.
07:06Even Jalen made that clutch shot to, what was it, give the Hawks the lead, I think, at the end.
07:11Give them a four-point lead right there at the end.
07:14And then Jalen, obviously, Jalen Brunson ends up hitting that three.
07:17And, you know, it was a whew.
07:19We were sweating out that game last night.
07:21We'll talk more about that at the end of the game here in a second.
07:26But I said before this series even started, we were going to have to rely and lean on CJ McCollum.
07:39And I did say Nikhil Alexander-Walker, too.
07:41I won't leave that part out of it.
07:44But Nikhil obviously has struggled for the most part through these first two games
07:51and really struggled even more than he did in game two than he did in game one.
07:55Only nine points, three of 12 from the field, two of five from three again.
07:58Hit the big three when he needed to.
08:01Hit the big shots when he needed to.
08:03But overall, it still struggled.
08:05And I said that we were probably going to have to rely on and lean on CJ McCollum and Nikhil
08:11Alexander-Walker
08:12because of their playoff experience.
08:14Nikhil Alexander-Walker's been to a Western Conference Finals with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
08:19He's been in big games.
08:20Guess what?
08:20CJ McCollum has been the number two guy in a Western Conference Final.
08:25Remember Portland Trail Blazers?
08:27Remember that team when they used to be really good with Dame Time and CJ McCollum?
08:31Yeah, CJ was the number two guy when they went to the Western Conference Finals.
08:36He knows what it's like and he knows what it feels like
08:40to be leaned upon and for a whole team to be looking at you and be like,
08:45hey, we need you to ball, brother, because if you don't ball, we ain't going nowhere.
08:49So that pressure ain't nothing to him?
08:52You heard when the Knicks fans started booing him and started getting at him?
08:57He said, all right, oh, yeah.
08:59He said, yeah, I like that.
09:01I like that.
09:02Give me some more of that.
09:04It's because he's been in these moments.
09:07He's been in these games and he's been in a position where the team needs him
09:12and the team is relying on him.
09:14He's been in that position before.
09:17And that's why I knew with Jalen Johnson having little to no playoff experience
09:24coming into this series, Dyson Daniels, little to none playoff experience
09:29coming into this series, I knew we were going to have to rely on our veterans.
09:36We were going to have to rely on Onyeka, who had a good game one, pretty good game two.
09:44If you look at it, too, 15.6 and I from the field, two or three from three, eight rebounds.
09:49He was a part of that 2021 run and a big part of it.
09:52CJ McCollum.
09:53We talked about him and his playoff experience.
09:55Nikhil Alexander-Walker.
09:56Now, again, Nikhil has been the one veteran that hasn't really stepped up and been that guy.
10:01But how about Jonathan Kaminga, too?
10:04He had a very nice game last night.
10:06He was essential to the Hawks coming back as well, too.
10:1019 points off the bench for Kaminga, 7-12 from the field, 1-4 from three.
10:14Now, I will say this about Kaminga.
10:15I will say this.
10:18Hey, J.K., I need you to keep going to the basket, big dog.
10:22I need you to keep going to the basket, my brother, because the three-point shot looking
10:27a little flat.
10:28And I understand he got to keep shooting that three to make him respect it.
10:32But that three-point shot needs a mark on it, man.
10:35You was coming up short on a few of them threes.
10:37And, look, one for four, it is what it is.
10:40But, man, Jonathan Kaminga, when he puts his head down and wants to go to the rack,
10:44he's hard to stop.
10:46He is hard to stop.
10:47And he had himself a very nice game, too.
10:50And, like I said, essential to the Hawks' win last night.
10:54Hawks were down by 12 in the fourth quarter.
10:58Come back and win it.
11:01This Hawks team has heart.
11:03This Hawks team has fight.
11:06We continue to see this Hawks team is together.
11:11And they ain't afraid of nobody.
11:13They know they can compete and play with the big dogs.
11:17And they ain't scared of the Knicks.
11:18They ain't scared of Madison Square Garden.
11:21And that was just a gutsy, gutsy performance by the Hawks.
11:26Every time the Knicks threw them a punch, every time the Knicks went on a run,
11:29they responded.
11:32And how about that fourth quarter by the Hawks as well?
11:37Absolutely amazing fourth quarter.
11:39I think at one point they were on a 13-0 run in that third quarter.
11:46And trying to find it here how much they outscored the Knicks by in the fourth.
11:54I think the Knicks only scored.
11:55Oh, here it is.
11:5628-15.
11:57They outscored the Knicks in the fourth quarter.
12:0028-15.
12:04So, just, again, unbelievable fight by this Hawks team.
12:08And look, I told you there's a lot of reasons to feel good about this Hawks win.
12:13Let me give you some of those reasons right now.
12:17The Hawks only shot 30% from three.
12:20Now, the Knicks, granted, only shot 32.
12:22And we knew they weren't going to.
12:24They shot 48% from the field.
12:26Talking about the Knicks right now.
12:27They shot 48% from the field and 48% from three in game one.
12:31I knew that wasn't going to continue.
12:32I told you that wasn't going to continue.
12:36But the Hawks didn't shoot that well either.
12:38But yet they get the dub.
12:40The Hawks, something we talked about couldn't happen.
12:44That happened last night.
12:46You got absolutely obliterated on the offensive rebounds.
12:50Defensive rebounds wasn't bad.
12:51That was only 33-30.
12:52But you got obliterated when it comes to offensive rebounds and second chance points.
12:56The Knicks probably had close to 30 second chance points.
12:59And you, I don't even know if you got into double digits.
13:03Offensive rebounds 14-6 in favor of the Knicks.
13:05Guess what?
13:06You still found a way to win.
13:11You had, you were better in the turnover game.
13:14Had 12 turnovers again, just like you did in game one.
13:16But the Knicks had 14.
13:17And you got 18 points off those 14 turnovers.
13:20And you only gave up 12 points off those 12 turnovers.
13:23So that was good.
13:24Fast break points.
13:25Told you you had to be better than the Knicks when it came to that.
13:27You were better, 20-13.
13:29Points in the paint, you won 58-54.
13:32That's why I said the Hawks have done a good job not being out physical, not being overpowered.
13:38So that's good.
13:39But seeing how many second chance points the Hawks gave up, how many offensive rebounds the Hawks gave up,
13:46and the fact that they still won, very promising.
13:49The fact that they were still able to find a way to win this game, even though they shot the
13:55ball at a 30% clip from three, very promising.
13:59Now, they did shoot 49% from the field.
14:01Knicks only shot 45.
14:02So that helped you out.
14:07And got to give it up for the way they got back on defense on the last possession.
14:12If you missed and you didn't see the end of the game, Hawks were up four.
14:19Then, oh no, Hawks were up three.
14:21Jalen Brunson hits a three to tie it.
14:24Oh, no, no, no.
14:24I'm sorry.
14:25Hawks were up four.
14:26Jalen Brunson hits a three.
14:28Hawks were up one.
14:29They get fouled with about seven, five to seven seconds left.
14:33I think it was a five, actually.
14:34CJ McCollum has a free throw line.
14:36He has two free throws to put the Hawks up three.
14:41He misses them both.
14:43Hawks only up one.
14:44Knicks get the rebound.
14:45Don't have any timeouts, though.
14:47Hawks do a great job getting back.
14:49Mikael Bridges does get down the court and does get a shot up, but it was nicely contested.
14:54He misses.
14:55Hawks get the win, baby.
14:56Let's go.
14:58Big win for the Atlanta Hawks, and I am hyped up right now, turnt up right now, and I hope
15:04you are as well.
