Eurovision crisis: Massive Attack, Kneecap and Sigur Rós call on fans to boycott over Israel

Celebrated musicians including Massive Attack, Kneecap, Brian Eno, Sigur Rós, Nadine Shah, and many more have signed an open letter calling for a boycott of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in protest of Israel’s participation.

00:07calling for a boycott of Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in protest of Israel's participation.
00:14The campaign, organized by No Music for Genocide and the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic
00:20and Cultural Boycott of Israel, is calling on the European Broadcasting Union to ban
00:26CAN, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, from the contest in May. Organizers applauded
00:33the five countries, including Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, the Netherlands and Iceland, which
00:38have withdrawn from this year's contest. The EBU has repeatedly defended its decision to allow
00:45Israel to take part in the Eurovision, despite allegations of hypocrisy. In 2022, the organization
00:52barred Russia from participating in the Eurovision. After its invasion of Ukraine and the ban
00:58remains, Israel has consistently denied that it is committing genocide in Gaza. However,
01:05in September 2025, a United Nations inquiry concluded that Israel is committing genocide.
