00:00Hey everyone, it's Sharona from Pay Your Waits and today I'm going to be reviewing and recapping
00:03Euphoria Season 3, Episode 2, America My Dream, alright?
00:09This is probably, I really like the subject matter of this episode, especially as somebody
00:14who just really fell for the American dream, who fell for this whole idea that you go to
00:19college, you get good grades, and you work hard, and you get a job, and as long as you
00:23do what you're supposed to do, and you go above and beyond, and you sacrifice your personal
00:27life that all these things are going to happen to you, all these good things, these promotions,
00:31and more money, and this and that, and that is a lie, that is a lie, if you guys are
00:36young
00:36watching this, don't listen to me, okay, I'm a little jaded, but to be honest, you might
00:40want to listen to me because it's a lie, don't let them, don't, don't, don't let them lie
00:44to you, because they gonna lie to you, they gonna lie to you, don't fall for it, because
00:49I fell for it, alright?
00:51So, we see that Alexa Demi, she gets more screen time this episode with Maddie, and honestly,
00:56I really hope that they keep this up, because I just feel like she's deserved something
01:00meatier since seasons one and two, and I really hope that season three is gonna do what needs
01:05to be done, but we see that she walks into that restaurant, and she said, you know what,
01:09I am a child of immigrants, okay, I believe in capitalism, I'm gonna do what needs to be
01:13done, you're not gonna get no HR complaints out of me, because I'm gonna be a hard worker,
01:17honey, I'm not gonna be entitled like the rest of the people in my generation, that's not
01:21gonna be me, sweetheart, so you need to go ahead and hire me, and then she did that
01:24actual thing, the lady, the talent manager's phone rang, and then she answered the phone
01:28like she was her receptionist, I said, I know that's right, Maddie, you better go, go get
01:32it, what they say, pull them up by the bootstraps, I see her making use of her American dream,
01:38alright?
01:39Now, I like that we have all of our characters in Hollywood, because as somebody who works
01:44in Hollywood in some way, shape, or form, I just feel like a lot of people think because
01:48you have access to people with money, that you are making money, and that's just absolutely
01:53not true, and so I really like that we get to see Maddie's journey as somebody who starts
01:58as an assistant to a talent manager, because that's something that Maddie wants to do herself,
02:02and then we even see her find a young woman by the name of Caitlyn, who she sees on social
02:07media, she meets up with her, and she kind of like, you know, she kind of gets her together
02:11like, hey, this is what you should be doing on social.
02:14I thought it was really funny when Caitlyn was leaving, and her mom was like, what if something
02:18happens to you, and she was like, I'm young, nothing's gonna happen to me, and I was like,
02:22now, girl, that's not how the pandemic went, but okay, girl, like, I'm glad everything worked
02:28out for you, but I like this whole idea that just when things felt like they were going
02:33in this right place, you know, the pandemic happened, and everything shut down, and that's
02:37kind of something that similarly, I don't know why I struggle with saying that word, but
02:42that's what happened to me, like, I had my first interview where they flew me out, I got
02:47flewed out, and I was talking to Samuel L. Jackson, and Nia Long, and Anthony Mackie, and I was
02:52like, mama, I made it, like, my life's gonna turn around, I was supposed to meet Beyonce
02:57mama at an event in Atlanta, and then the whole world shut down, and it was a long time before
03:05I got flewed out ever again, all right?
03:07And so I was really, like, this was really speaking to me, I actually really like this
03:10episode, minus some of the dialogue that happens in this episode, but I like that they
03:15showed how the pandemic, and I will say the pandemic was kind of a blessing in disguise,
03:20because virtual interviews happen, and that's how I was able to, like, you know, do the things
03:24that I do now, but I was really able to, like, relate and resonate, you know, with feeling like
03:29you're almost there, and then something like this happening, and just really changing the world
03:35as we know it. So she finds the girl, Caitlin, and so she, I like how we see this progression
03:41of her being like, oh, you just take sexy pictures and post these things, and, you know, you have to
03:45have a moral code, so we're just, you're not gonna be nude, we're gonna imply nudity, right?
03:50You know, we're gonna just have the, the pants a little low, or, you know, we're gonna have your
03:55legs spread, but you still have on underwear. You see how the line keeps moving, right?
04:01What is morally acceptable? You know, what is nudity? Oh, you're just showing your feet.
04:06Now, y'all, y'all heard Maddie talk about the feet, okay? Now, y'all know I've been going back
04:11and forth if I need to do a feet only, fans, and I felt like, was that a sign? That
04:16wasn't a sign,
04:16what is it? But is it a sign? Because if it is a sign, let me know, because I got
04:20some bills that
04:21need to be paid. But yeah, um, I like how you see this back and forth with her constantly, like,
04:28edging her, nudging her little by little to kind of, like, not sell your soul, but really sell your soul
04:33or your morals of what you think is socially acceptable. Um, and so, you know, it turned into,
04:39like, get these pictures. These are, like, the most racy set of pictures yet. I like how we see
04:45all of this, and we see that Maddie's, you know, having a tough time. Her mother, you know, her salon
04:50had to close during the pandemic, and so not only is she trying to survive out in California, she's also
04:55trying to send money, you know, to her mom at the same time, trying to make sure she keeps her
05:00salon
05:00afloat back home. And so, um, we see that she's living the dream, but a part of the American dream,
05:08you get this hustle, but sometimes you feel like you're constantly underwater, and no matter how
05:13much you keep climbing and climbing to get out, the more money you make, the more expenses that you
05:17have, like, you're just never actually able to get out of the hamster wheel. And so, that's why I
05:22really liked, you know, this whole thing, and especially seeing how, you know, people reacted to
05:27OnlyFans, right? Um, her manager ends up finding out about her having a side client, just because,
05:33you know, her boss manages Dylan Reed, and then she had her, him meet up with Caitlyn,
05:38and so then that got the paparazzi, and you saw that they call her a porn star, and all she's
05:42doing
05:42is showing her feet in some photos, like, go ahead and do what you gotta do, Caitlyn. I saw Caitlyn
05:47with
05:47that $700,000 check, though, in one month? In one month? Lord, I see what you're doing for out there,
05:54just if you need to do it for me, do it! Just do it! Okay. Now, she's lucky she didn't
05:59get fired,
06:00because technically, like, how are you managing someone, like, you didn't tell me, and people
06:04are assuming because you work for me that somehow they're a part of my roster, and I can see, like,
06:10why her boss was upset. She was on the wrong side of history, because she really could have been
06:14making a good commission, because $70,000 in one month? Yes, honey, okay? Um, and I think that's
06:20even, like, now how people judge, uh, people that are on OnlyFans, and how they use that to stop them
06:26from trying to get employment, and a lot of times, like, when people see other people making a lot of
06:31money, they try to put obstacles in their way to stop them from being able to make that money, and
06:36I
06:37just like how we saw how her boss judged her, but then you see a year later, now this girl
06:43is making
06:43$700,000 a month, and then because Maddie's boss wasn't able to see the vision, Maddie lost out
06:48on money as well, and sometimes Maddie needs to know the discernment, or sometimes you got to bet
06:53on yourself, and that's a really hard decision to make, because at least with this lady, she has
06:58eight-star talent, and she has a steady job, and you just know that, hey, people are going to respect
07:03this, but it's so hard to bet on yourself, and I know Maddie was kicking herself like, dang, if I
07:08would have just bet on myself a little bit longer, like, I would be making dumb money right now,
07:12now bringing in, like, $800, you know, which ain't even gonna cover the rent, okay, so we see that
07:20Maddie ends up getting a message from Cassie, um, talking about, like, hey girl, I miss you, let's
07:25get lunch, and I said, bitch, that's all you got to say after taking my man, and you're supposed to
07:30be
07:30my best friend, and you were banging my man behind my back, hey girl, I miss you, bitch, I don't
07:36miss
07:36you, I hope you burn in hell, that don't even make sense, that's all you had to say to me,
07:40so I guess
07:41because Cass, because Maddie was like, you know, she saw the little doggy videos or whatnot, I guess
07:47she decided that she was going to meet up with her, I thought it was really funny when, when she
07:51was
07:51telling Rue, because Rue's like, girl, who are you getting ready for this meeting for, and then she,
07:56like, does this, and then she's like, what, round two, ding, ding, ding, and I was just like, I just
08:01love
08:01Rue, she's so chaotic for absolutely no reason, and this is why I just love her, she ain't got no
08:07sense,
08:07but I was thinking the same thing, like, you gonna slap her, just give her a good little,
08:11like, just a little slap, she deserved it, like, just a little something, I don't condone violence,
08:15but I'm just saying, all right, and while we're talking about Cassie, this is one of my issues
08:19that I have with this season, and this is one of my issues just in general, like, I feel as
08:24though,
08:24I understand that, you know, Euphoria, and Sydney's been playing this character, Cassie, for two seasons,
08:30and this is kind of like the Cassie that we've known, but I just feel like, as an actress, like,
08:36you have
08:36evolved now, you do not have to do this, this crazy stuff, seeing Cassie taking these pictures, like,
08:42desperate for attention, if I gotta see Sydney's titties one more time, I just don't understand it,
08:47like, you don't have to be nude to do all of this stuff, you see how they were showing Kayla's
08:51photos,
08:52that's it, you don't, you ain't gotta do all of that, and I know you're gonna be like, Sharona, but
08:56that's the
08:56storyline, right, women now feel like they have to sell their body, they have to,
09:00show titties, they gotta be nude, they gotta do something provocative to get people wanting to
09:05sign up, honey, I watch a lady that crushes eggs with her feet, and she getting paid, and she ain't
09:12have to show no titty to do that, all right, and I think that's a part of the misconceptions about
09:16what it actually is to live the American dream, like, do you have to sell a piece of your soul
09:22to
09:22make money, do you have to show your body to get men to want to be interested in you, I
09:27just think it's
09:28interesting how we're examining all these things, but I do feel like for Sydney Sweeney as an actress
09:33after Euphoria, I understand y'all gotta fulfill your contracts, but after this, I just, I think it's
09:40because I think nudity is fine, I don't have an issue with nudity, if it makes sense, I just feel
09:46like
09:47a lot of times when she is nude, I feel like they're objectifying her, and that is not necessarily
09:54for the art, is really to just appease the desires of men, and that's how I felt, that's why I
10:01felt
10:01so icky with this whole thing, but maybe that's the point, right, you have these women who want to be
10:06seen, who want to feel like they're validated, and they feel like the only ways that they can do that
10:10is through their self-worth, through their body, and so you see her humiliating herself, even though
10:15that baseball photo, I ain't even gonna hold you, I was like, okay, I see you, but it's just sad
10:21that
10:21like somebody who lives in this nice neighborhood with all these people with money, you know, her
10:27house ugly, so I'm not even gonna say nice house, because they house ugly as hell, but you see her
10:32still trying to be like, I want to be famous, I want to be so famous that I want to
10:36reach out to my
10:36ex-best friend that I did hella dirty all these years ago, and I'm going to reach out to her
10:41not
10:41to apologize, but really to get advice, and then Maddie quickly picked up on this, I like how Maddie
10:47made sure that she was late to the meeting, to make it seem like, you know, she was out here
10:51working, and I think that's another thing too, and I think that's a thing that I saw like in the
10:55first three episodes, is a lot of people are envious of somebody else's life, but you don't
11:00know what's really happening behind closed doors, people only present the image that they want to
11:04present to the world, and I just really wish that people would stop living, watching other people's
11:09lives, and that they would actually go out and live, because Cassie is doing all of these things,
11:14like telling her like, well, you know, all these people are like always jealous of me, and you know,
11:19I see these girls that are making money and stuff, and they're not pretty, and she was like, but it's
11:23not about that, these girls have promotion, they got personality, they have taste, there's things
11:28that they're doing, and people are so quick to just look like, well, why do they have this, and why
11:32do
11:32they have that, instead of just figuring out how I'm going to get to the bag, and how I'm going
11:36to
11:36actually show the real me and do that, and you can tell that through Cassie's video, she's just so
11:41desperate, and she's trying anything to be popular, and what I'm really confused about is why Nate is
11:48really okay with all of this, but we'll get into Nate's storyline after this, but I like that Maddie
11:55kind of got her together, like you're not being yourself, you're a big fish in a small pond, because
12:01you're out here with these little suburban housewives, but here in the city, honey, everybody's
12:06beautiful, everybody got body, everybody got some tickle bitties, all right, there's, you look just like
12:12all the other blonde hair, blue eyed girls out here, pretty girls that are trying to make it, you got
12:18to have
12:18something that's different, and I just feel like so many people are missing this right now, and especially
12:22with social media, and people being able to make money on like TikTok, and all of these things, it's
12:27like you see everybody literally just doing what everybody else does, it don't be nothing special
12:32to it, it don't be nothing different, and people wondering like, well, why things aren't working out
12:36for me, let me stop preaching, because I feel like I'm preaching, and I'm gonna stop, I'm gonna stop, okay,
12:44so we realized like, you know, I think Maddie kind of felt a little bit better, like this girl
12:49stayed with Nate all these years, just to like clear her conscience, and wait for a ring, to feel
12:53like losing her best friend was worth it, and then we see that later in the episode, this girl won't
13:01$50,000 worth of florals, okay, and like I said, your husband ain't got no money, sweetheart, and you
13:06really chose wrong, but I hopefully, you learn this sooner rather than later, I pray that you
13:13learn this before y'all actually get married, but in the world of euphoria, I doubt that that's
13:16actually going to happen, and so we see that, um, we see that they have this party, and then she
13:23talks
13:23to her little best friend, who is not her friend, she's not your friend, she doesn't like you, everything
13:28you tell her, she go right back to her husband to tell, tell him, and it's crazy, because she showed
13:33her the pictures, which I was like, Cassie, I don't know why in your mind you think this is normal,
13:38and
13:38you think that this is okay, but even she was like, girl, why are you a baby, why are you
13:44just like a
13:44baby with your legs spread, like this is weird, yuck, okay, that's what it's giving, and so she shows
13:51her these pictures, she goes right to her husband, and tells him everything, and then after the party is
13:55over, Nate calls her in, and he was just like, Cassie, can I see your phone, and she was like,
14:01no, I'm not
14:01gonna give you my phone, and then this girl basically told on herself, she's looking back at her neighbor
14:05like, did you tell him about my OnlyFans, and I said, girl, you always sitting up here snitching on
14:10yourself, it don't make no dang old sense, but this is why I felt like Nate was just not himself,
14:14because
14:14he just very calmly was like, hey, you, like, why is everybody telling me that my wife is taking all
14:20these photos, and stuff like that, and then she was like, what you talking about, behind your back,
14:26ho, you gave me the blessing to go ahead and do it, don't sit up here and play with me,
14:29ho, and then I'm just
14:30like, dad, you snitching on your husband in front of the company, but honestly, the way that they was
14:34carrying on, you couldn't even wait till y'all got home to then snitch, so it wouldn't have led back
14:39to
14:40you, it just made no sense, but he did try to look out for his wife and say, like, oh,
14:43someone else,
14:44someone else said something, and I was like, at least he, at least he got his wife back, but yeah,
14:49so
14:49they're going back and forth, basically, she tells him, well, it's not my fault that you ain't got no money
14:53to pay for this wedding, and I said, Cassie, girl, not telling all you business, you calling him
14:59broke and he broke, broke, so then he has to agree to this, so she deletes her account, and then
15:04he
15:04agrees to pay for all of the flowers, and then they talk about, oh, should we go, I mean, you
15:09should have
15:09left when you saw them having an argument, you wait till all the juicy stuff happens to then leave,
15:14but Juana, their housekeeper, she was killing me, because when she was asking about these things,
15:19like, should I keep the vegetables, do we need to keep the meat, and I was like, Juana, girl, if
15:23you don't ask
15:24me one more effing question, honey, it's gonna be your last day at work, this is gonna be your last
15:29shift to clock into, okay, stop asking all these dang old questions, ugh, but yeah, so outside of that,
15:37that's why I just feel like this is not Nate that we know, if Cassie would have did some stuff
15:42like
15:42that to the old Nate, and then embarrassed him in front of his, like, friends and stuff, like, what?
15:49What? What? Do you hear me? And then at the end of the, end of the night when they're having
15:54a
15:54conversation, and Ben, and he was just like, you know, because a lot of people in my childhood lied
15:59to me, sir, do not try to weaponize the trauma that you experienced as a teenager against me now,
16:05you're a grown adult, you're grown, all right, talking about people kept secrets from me, you don't
16:10want us keeping secrets from her that you broke, said apparently, like, the same thing that you said
16:14made you mad, that's what you're doing to your wife right now, that don't make no dang old sense, Nate,
16:18always up here lying for no reason, now that's the old Nate I know, but him being so cool with
16:24everything that she did was just, it was actually kind of crazy, and then he was, she was like,
16:28well, I talked to Maddie, he was like, my Maddie, and I was like, my Maddie, what you talking about?
16:32She was like, well, she was my best friend, he was like, she was my ex-girlfriend, I was like,
16:35so are y'all both gonna fight over Maddie, because this just makes no sense, and even Nate was just
16:39like, so you invited her to the wedding, like, is this revenge? And she was like, everybody isn't in love
16:45with you, and I was just like, well, it seemed like a lot of y'all help was learned, I
16:49really
16:49don't understand the allure, but we do get to see, we do get to see Cal, and I really, I
16:58had,
16:59at first when I watched this, I kind of didn't like that they had used, kind of, you can tell
17:06that the ALS had affected Eric Dane's speech, and I don't like that they used, like, the alcoholism
17:13as a reason why he might be slurring his words, but honestly, I had to give it up to the
17:18Lord,
17:18because I'm sure whatever conversations that Eric had with Sam, like, that was a conversation that
17:23they both had in regards to, you know, whatever it took for him to make sure that he was involved
17:28in this season, so then I was just like, you know what, if he wanted this as a storyline,
17:32and that's a conversation that both of them had, and they were at peace with it, then it's not for
17:36me to say anything, but I could see how it might bother some people, just in regards to, like, how
17:44they utilize, like, you know, one of his symptoms from ALS with his speech, but it was nice to see
17:51him, I love the charm that he still had, I like that him and Nate, you know, are still friends
17:57after
17:57Nate was the one responsible for turning him in, and getting him, well, he's not responsible, because
18:01honestly, if you weren't messing with underage kids, then you wouldn't have been in trouble, you
18:06wouldn't be on the sex offender list, so let me not do that, let me not shift blame, okay, because
18:10that's what we're not gonna do, all right, but he tells him, like, hey, I heard your girl selling
18:15nudes, he was like, where you heard that from, he said, and so he's like, sly, he's like, sly, sex,
18:20what, sex love addicts, and I was just like, I mean, well, at least you're going to your class,
18:24but why they know that, shouldn't y'all not be looking at naked photos and stuff, like, I'm just
18:30saying it isn't at the whole point of the class, I was just a little confused by that, but it
18:34is what
18:34it is, um, and he asked him, like, are you having financial issues, because why is your girl slanging
18:39her body all over OnlyFans anyway, then we find out that Nate does owe this man Nas money, but he
18:45owe
18:45this man $550,000, talking about, and next week's gonna be $600,000, I said, Nate, sweetheart, you don't
18:51have that type of money, sweetie, and you're trying to get more investors, you're trying to let out these
18:56people throw this barbecue, no, no, sir, absolutely not, and so he told him, like, hey, I need my
19:02$100,000 by the end of the week on Friday, and I said, how you gonna give him $100,000
19:05when you just
19:06gave Cassie $50,000 for flowers, so I'm just kind of confused about everything, all right, so then him
19:11and Cal are going back and forth, and then he was like, you're gay, he was like, I'm not gay,
19:15he was
19:16like, you were banging dudes, and he was like, I was a pitcher, not a catcher, and I was just
19:20like,
19:21not Cal, then he was like, I was a heat on this, I said, sweetheart, wherever you fall
19:25on the LBGT, LB, LGBTQIA+, whatever, timeline, that's your business, you can't even say you
19:33pansexual, sweetheart, but no, no, Cal, no, no, sweetie, absolutely not, okay, but I thought the
19:41whole banter back and forth, I just thought it was really funny, and I just, I really liked Eric
19:45Day in this episode, um, and I'm just happy that they not beefing, all right, so let's talk about
19:51Rue, all right, so Rue, she thinks she even got this promotion, now she cleaning pig, pig
19:57crap, okay, she cleaning pig pool, but I guess to her, this is better than her swallowing all
20:02them bags, and trying to smuggle herself back and forth to Mexico, then she covered up the
20:07dead bodies, because we saw that Tish, uh, passed away from a fentanyl, uh, overdose, which
20:12I do like that, um, Sam has talked about addiction, especially with everything that happened
20:18with, uh, Angus, and I like that he's showing how easy it is for people to die from these
20:25things, and so I do like that he's spreading more awareness about it, um, and also showcasing
20:30characters like Angel, who we see later in the episode, does decide to go ahead and seek
20:34treatment, and so Alamo and Lori got beefed, because he lost one of his hoes, and, you know,
20:40he was like, hey, you messed up, you didn't apologize, and then she was like, well, you hang
20:45out with horrors, so who knows what they were doing, and I was like, Lori, I don't, I don't
20:49think that's the point, sweetheart, and then we later found out that it was Faye and them fault,
20:53because he didn't tell her to clean off the scale, it only takes a little bit to kill somebody, and
20:58so, yeah, it actually really was your fault, so then Alamo was like, I need reparations, and then
21:03the dude was like, you take them reparations and shove up your end, hard are behind, and I was just
21:10like, now granted, does he look like somebody that will say something like that, absolutely,
21:14did we need to have all of this in there, no, and I was just like, was it necessary, Sam,
21:22was it necessary, because I don't think it was, but even if I let that one slide, it's a whole
21:28nother one that was absolutely not necessary at all, and I'm just very confused about it, but I'm
21:33gonna keep on moving for time's sake, okay, so I don't know why he don't know what reparations
21:38are, clearly, like Rue said, they inbred, so they not right in the head, so he's basically
21:46like, you killed one of my hoes, I'm gonna take one of yours, so I'm taking Rue, and
21:50Lauren said, absolutely not, you're not gonna take Rue, and he was like, no, you gotta figure
21:55it out, I'm gonna take Rue, and that's gonna be that, and so Rue was happy, but then she
22:00said she feels like she made a deal with the devil, and I was like, well, honestly, everybody
22:04the devil at this point, so I mean, might as well be with the devil, you know, I don't
22:09know, I really want you to just get your life together, but clearly you're not gonna do
22:12that, so she gets a job at the silver supper, like the silver slipper, something, and basically
22:18it's a strip club, and so she's basically wrangling a girl, selling drugs, and we see
22:23Kadeem Hardison, who, he works at the club, he wasn't happy to see Rue, he was like, wow,
22:28he hired a woman, like, go figure, but we get our KC Undercover reunion, so I love seeing
22:33them together, probably not the project that they thought that they were gonna be working
22:36with each other on, this is a far, far cry from the Disney channel, alright, but we see
22:42that, you know, she's working at the club, you know, she like hoes, and it's naked hoes
22:46everywhere, and so she's okay with this, so I'm just like, Rue, actually, things might be
22:50looking up for you, alright, so we see that Rue is, she's kind of excited about this job,
22:56she really feels like, okay, I feel like I'm living my dream, okay, I get to see titties
23:00everywhere I go, and then I'm selling the drugs, people are offering me drugs, like,
23:04I'm living the American dream myself right now, and so she sees that, we meet one of
23:09the girls, Angel, who's played by Priscilla Delgado, and I thought she did a really great
23:13job with her performance in this episode, minus the one thing that she had to say, but
23:17I thought she did a really fantastic job, so she plays one of the girls who was really
23:21close to Tish, and so she's really been going through it, because she was just like, my friend
23:24wouldn't just leave me, she wouldn't just stop answering the phone, Alamo keeps saying,
23:28like, she fell in love, and then she's like, at your house, like, how does that make sense,
23:31so she knows that someone's not telling her the truth, okay, and so we learned that in
23:39a conversation, actually, no, she actually goes to do a dance, and both of them was off
23:44beat, she was dancing for some dude, Mr. Rolex, and the fact that she had to ask him
23:48to, did you take a shower today, which I'm just like, that's like my worst fear, because
23:51like, dudes be so trifling too, and they just don't believe in showers and stuff, so the
23:55fact that she had to ask him that before she blew him, I mean, yeah, you should ask that
23:59question, but it was just too much for me, they all off beat, he's snorting drugs off
24:04her nipples, it was just a lot going on, okay, so we go to Rue talking to Maddie, where Maddie
24:09kind of tells, um, like, Maddie, Rue kind of alludes that she knows about the whole sugar
24:17baby thing, and she tells her, like, you know, hey, when I'm working with Uber, like, I just
24:21have all this time to think about, like, how I haven't talked to my mom in two years,
24:24how Gia didn't respond to my text message, and how I'm always thinking about Rue, and
24:28she's like, you trying to get back with Rue, and she's like, don't worry about all of
24:30that, but when I'm at the club, you know, everything moving fast, there's a lot happening, and I
24:34feel like I'm in my bag, alright, so, it's a lot going on in the strip club, because we
24:39see Magic, who's played by, uh, Rosalia, um, she's in there, she got her little bedazzled
24:43neck brace, and he was like, take that neck brace off, that don't make no sense, and I'm
24:47just like, the girl, if the girl neck hurt, at least she came to work, and she trying to dance,
24:50she can't dance in the neck brace, they don't even make no sense, now, Rosalie, I don't
24:54know why you needed to, like, come on here, and play this character, because, like, she
25:00didn't really, like, do that much in the episode, but I guess you just wanted to, like, get to
25:04the bag and say he was on Euphoria, I guess that's fine, you know, it's okay, um, but,
25:09like, we see that Alamo is really upset about this pig comment, like, they called you to
25:14end her ER, but the one thing that stuck with him was this pig comment, because this man
25:18talked about it the entire episode, and he was just like, that's one of the worst things
25:22somebody can call you, and I was just like, so the other word, that, that wasn't, that
25:27wasn't bad to you, that, that didn't bother you, it was the pig comment that bothered your
25:31spirit, okay, that's on you, baby, that's on you, so, we see that Angel's still trying
25:38to figure out where Tish is, and she's still upset, but Rue, you know, she was kind of
25:44looking at Angel since, like, she first came to the club, okay, and so, you know, Angel
25:51was like, hey, you know, I got some drugs, and then Rue, baby, let me tell you something,
25:56I know Rue put in that work, honey, she was putting it at work, well, that, she was putting
26:00in some mouth action on Angel, the way the Angel was screaming in that little minivan, like,
26:07whoo, they, they was getting it in, I said, I know that's right, Rue, Rue, like, she was
26:11real proud of herself, too, so I ain't even, I ain't even mad at it, all right, not even
26:14mad about it, so, um, we see that Angel is a hothead, she's still upset, um, she threw
26:24a shoe, like, we see this, she threw a shoe at Kadeem's character, his nose was bleeding,
26:30then she tried to throw a shoe at Rue, and she hit Rue with the shoe, and then she was
26:34like,
26:34I'm sick of all you B-A-N words, and then that, this is when I was like, Sam, Sam,
26:39where the
26:40handcuffs at, okay, cause, like, why, this just wasn't needed, why did she have to say the bitch
26:45A-N words, that just didn't make no sense, like, why, it was so unnecessary, you, she just could've
26:51called them the B word, and that would've been fine, and then Rue was saying, oh, so I'm a B,
26:55and then when she threw the shoe and started hitting her all the shoes, it would've been a great
26:58scene, but I was so caught up on why you would make this girl who is not black, say B
27:03-A-N
27:04N words, that I couldn't even continue on with the scene, I actually had to pause and
27:08take a break, I just, this dialogue, like, you ain't got nobody to run this by to be like,
27:14hey, like, maybe you shouldn't say that, or maybe somebody did say it, and he said, I honestly
27:18don't care, I said what I said, but no, that's not okay, so after I got over that, Rue does
27:27end up telling her what happened, and this sends her down an even crazier spiral, she's, you know,
27:33doing drugs, she's doing, taking, drinking alcohol, sleeping in the car, like, she's
27:37angry all the time, and so Rue does go to Alamo to talk to him about what's been going
27:42on, and she was just like, is there anything we can do, and then he was like, either she
27:46can leave, or she can go to rehab, she's like, well, she can't afford that, and he was like,
27:51no, I'll pay for it, and she's like, oh, she's kind of like, look at these, look at these,
27:55uh, work perks, okay, and so I thought that was really nice that he did, he understands, like,
28:00hey, it comes with the business, I get it, she can go get help, and get better, and do
28:05what she needs to do, and then you just need to convince her, and then, of course, anything
28:09Angel gonna do, she gonna throw a shoe, she start cursing her out, because she definitely
28:13is feisty, but I actually did like her character outside of what Sam had her saying, I thought
28:18Priscilla did absolutely a great job, and then even how you see how they handle the whole
28:23intake process, I'm sure this is like some undercover type of treatment center, but the way that
28:28they just seemed so uninterested, it wasn't like, they were just treating her like another
28:32number, and you see how scared she is, and it's kind of crazy, like, Ru was kind of talking
28:37to her, like, you're making a good decision, I said, bitch, you not even sober, like, I wish
28:40you would, ma'am, ma'am, who needs to be there, right, right there with Angel, talk about you're
28:47making a good decision, girl, if you don't go somewhere and stop effing playing with me,
28:52so, um, she drops her off, then we see somebody watching Ru, now, I wonder who is watching
28:57her, like, I don't know if it's some of Lori's people, or like, what's going on, but, you
29:03know, someone's watching her, but then we also see, like, from the trailer, that she
29:06kind of gets into some legal trouble, so I don't know if they're watching her, I don't
29:08know what's going on, so, um, she calls and tells him, like, hey, I dropped her off, but
29:13she's really scared, and he was like, God helps those who helps themselves, and I was
29:17just like, I mean, okay, whatever, so we get to the end of the episode, we go to Lori's
29:22house, Faye getting her back blown out, she really don't look like she's enjoying it, but
29:25she's making all the noises like she is, and then they hear a commotion upstairs, child,
29:30Alamone got so upset that he released this big old pig in Lori's house, just pooping and
29:36pissing everywhere, now, why they told the dog, like, shame on you, Lieutenant Dan, and the
29:42fact that y'all called this dog Lieutenant Dan because he was missing one of his legs, like
29:46Lieutenant Dan and Forrest Gump, I'm not gonna hold you, that got a chuckle out of me, I
29:50thought that was absolutely funny, but, um, when Faye was like, I think, is that a dinosaur,
29:56and I was like, I mean, it kind of sounded like it, but Faye, a dinosaur, girl, be for
30:00real, when we get to the end of the episode, we see that Rue goes to see Jules, Jules comes
30:04in, wearing her fits, body-body-ing, alright, and then she goes to the penthouse, I said, now
30:11Jules, what you, what you doing with the penthouse, huh, it seemed like Mr. Plastic
30:17Surgery Man, like, got her living a good life, so she, I guess he got a penthouse, and then
30:21he go back with his family, and so Rue's like, oh, I'm trying to, you know, she kind
30:26of tells her, like, hey, I'm, like, California sober, you know, I just drink and smoke a little
30:30weed, and, you know, but I have a job, and I want to get a place on my own, maybe
30:33not a
30:33place like this, but, and then she tried to throw a little shady comment about, you know,
30:38where is he at, with his family, and then, cause she tried to make her jealous, like,
30:42well, I don't think my boyfriend would like that, and then, um, yeah, she kind of throws
30:48shade, like, is, are you doing this cause, is he a real boyfriend, or is this just a
30:52financial arrangement, and then, you know, Jules talking about, you know, I don't think
30:59we were meant to be monogamous, and that's just what people say when they know that they
31:02may not go be monogamous, even though they want them to, and then Rue was like, um, maybe
31:07I still got a chance then, and then she's like, you can't just show up and act like
31:10things are okay, and I do like how she talks about, we romanticize a lot of things in high
31:15school, we romanticize a lot of things that's happened when we were younger, um, cause we
31:19just built all of this up in our minds to be a certain type of way, and that's not really
31:23how it actually was, cause Jules and Rue didn't have this lovey-dovey relationship, they
31:28had a very dysfunctional relationship in high school, and so we see that Jules says, I'm about
31:33to take a bath, and then Rue was like, all right, I'll just finish my drink, and head
31:37on out, and then she kind of give her a look like, or, and then she was like, well, she
31:42was like, you're not gonna keep me company, and then the episode goes off, so I was like,
31:45go ahead, show her what that mouth do, Rue, do what you gotta do, minus the two dialogue
31:52things, I did enjoy this episode even more than the first episode, I just think I'm a sucker
31:57for just this whole idea of living the American dream, and how, you know, you leave school,
32:03you go to college, and you have all these, like, aspirations, hopes, and dreams, and then
32:07the real world just kind of shows you what it is, um, I liked how we saw that from different
32:12points of views, from Maddie, someone who's a child of immigrants, and really taking, you
32:16know, control of her life, or someone like Jules, who feels like, you know, she's in this
32:22relationship because it affords her the lifestyle that she wants, and Rue, you know, working
32:27at a strip club, but really being happy with everything she's doing, I like how we just
32:30see all of these different backgrounds, and Nate being a scammer, and feeling like he's
32:35living this American dream, being this real estate developer, but realizing, like, this
32:39stuff is a lot harder than what I thought it was, so overall, I like the episode, very
32:44annoyed by the dialogue that was used in this week's episode, but yeah, those are my thoughts
32:48on Euphoria Season 3, Episode 2, America, My Dream, as always, my name is Sharona from
