Two suspects were detained after electric motorbikes were reportedly ridden against traffic on the M62. Police say the incident posed serious risks to other road users.

00:05way on a Merseyside motorway. Police say a 21-year-old from West Derby and a 17-year-old
00:12from Naughty Ash were detained following the incident on the M62 on Sunday. It's alleged
00:18that the riders travelled eastbound, exited at Junction 5, then rejoined against the flow
00:23of traffic along the hard shoulder. The high-powered electric motorbikes, which didn't have any
00:29road tacks, were later found abandoned nearby. Roads policing inspector Carl McNulty said
00:35the driving was unfathomable and put lives at risk. Both suspects have been released under
00:40investigation pending further inquiries.
