00:02Around 8 p.m. last night, winds exceeding 100km an hour tore through this residential street here in East Bunbury,
00:10which is about 170km south of Perth.
00:14Now, the winds were actually so strong, they tore the roof of the house behind me here off.
00:19And then to my right, further down the street, there's what appears to be a drag path of damage where
00:24that roof was picked up and carried along the tops of homes.
00:27Before it landed in power lines about 80 metres away.
00:31Now, I spoke to a family member of the owner of this property earlier this morning who confirmed there were
00:37two people inside when the roof came off.
00:41She says they described almost feeling as if the roof sort of separated from the house and lifted before it
00:47went.
00:47And if you look closely behind me, there's a clear line between the walls of the house and what's left
00:52of that roof.
00:53They also described water pouring in down the walls and through that hole in the ceiling, as well as cupboard
01:00doors coming off the walls and being thrown down hallways.
01:04Now, luckily, everyone involved is safe, but clearly quite an eventful evening for them last night.
01:10Now, the Bureau of Meteorology are still investigating if this was a microblast or a tornado and Western Power are
01:18still working to restore electricity to almost 170 people who lost power when the storm hit last night.
