00:37Thanks, Benson.
00:40We're hoping for a straight-in visual approach to runway 01.
00:44Roger, 5104, that is approved.
00:47To your descent, report reaching 2,500.
00:50Roger, Benson.
00:525104, your strength 5104, your strength 5104, go straight into runway 01.
01:10Thus it hath pleased Almighty God
01:13to take out of this transitory life
01:16unto his divine mercy
01:18the late, most high, mighty
01:21and illustrious Prince Edward
01:23Albert, Christian
01:25George, Andrew, Patrick
01:28David, Duke of Windsor
01:33Sometime the most high, most mighty
01:36and most excellent monarch
01:38Edward VIII
01:45By the grace of God
01:47of Great Britain, Ireland
01:49and the British dominions beyond the seas
01:52King, defender of the faith
01:55Emperor of India
01:57Uncle of the most high, most mighty
02:02and most excellent monarch
02:04Our Sovereign Lady
02:06Elizabeth II
02:08Who may God preserve and bless
02:12with long life, health and honour
02:28I wanted to thank you for writing
02:29such lovely letters to David
02:31in his final days
02:34It meant a great deal to him
02:38And he wanted you to have this
02:43which I gave him in 1939
02:49Pocket watch and a compass
02:52with an inscription
02:53No excuse for going in the wrong direction
02:57Thank you
03:01I'm sorry not to see your girlfriend
03:05She's picking me up after this
03:07We're spending the evening together
03:08before I return to Dartmouth
03:10but don't tell anyone
03:11It's a secret
03:13She's not official yet
03:16Is she the one?
03:19Yes
03:21I think so
03:22Then if I may offer two pieces of advice
03:26Never turn your back on true love
03:30Despite all the sacrifices
03:31and all the pain
03:34David and I never once regretted it
03:38Thank you
03:40And the second?
03:42Watch out for your family
03:44Do they mean well?
03:48No they don't
04:14I saw her
04:17A black widow
04:21Wallace
04:24It's funny old Crow
04:27She stared at me
04:29It spooked me rather
04:31She gave me a warning
04:32About what?
04:35My family
04:38Mummy?
04:39Goodbye darling
04:41Bye Malia
04:43Or you
04:44Dartmouth unbearable
04:47What a question
04:50Uncle Dickie
04:51It'll be the making of me
04:53Just remember
04:55Acting left in
04:56It doesn't mean you're in a bloody play
05:00It's funny
05:02I looked at them as I was leaving
05:04And my mother
05:07Father, grandmother, aunt
05:09Even my sister
05:10And I thought
05:12That's what they must have looked like to him
05:16Who?
05:18The last prince of Wales
05:21Poor lost soul
05:22He just buried
05:26He wasn't like them
05:28He was brighter
05:30Wittier
05:31More independent of thought
05:34More true to himself
05:38And so they united against him
05:42And in that moment
05:46As they looked at me
05:48In some god awful way
05:49I realised
05:53I've just replaced him
05:55I've just replaced him
06:18I've just replaced him
07:20Come on, Edward, this way.
07:23What is it?
07:24No peeking.
07:32But you can't afford it.
07:34Give it a go.
07:34Come on.
07:37Come on.
07:40Come on.
08:12Come on, Edward!
08:14Come on, Edward, this way!
08:22In recent days, tensions have dramatically escalated between the government and the national union of mine workers.
08:29And the resulting blockade now threatens to close the government's last remaining stockpile of coal.
08:43My friends, it is time.
08:46No more standing at the bottom looking up.
08:49It's time to make us feel cleared.
08:50We close every mine across this country and we will continue to freeze stockpiles till they open their ears, open
09:00their hearts.
09:07What you're seeing here today is the beginning, the beginning of the working classes saying enough.
09:12We have tried to reach agreement with management, with government, but the capitalist establishment is bent on crushing the working
09:22class movement.
09:23So today, we're tearing up that agreement, and from now on, we are men of action, and we will achieve
09:28our aims by any means necessary.
09:53Prime Minister, Your Majesty.
09:56I'm sorry, Prime Minister, they mean no harm.
09:58All animals mean harm.
10:01They're but a meal away from barbarism.
10:10One item on the agenda above all others, I'd say, the miners' strike.
10:15Oh.
10:16Which, like a fever dream, a sharp and sometimes painful interlude of madness will soon pass.
10:22Will it?
10:24On the surface, their demands seem quite reasonable.
10:26A wage increase in line with factory workers, and public sympathy for them seems to be growing.
10:31No, people are sentimental and easily swayed.
10:35No, the issue that confronts us is far more important.
10:39Economic probity, ma'am.
10:40But if the strike continues?
10:42Then it will end in defeat and humiliation for the mine workers.
10:47We, the government, have been quietly moving coal stocks from pit heads to power stations these past weeks.
10:53We have eight weeks of reserves, by which time we will have wrapped up this whole messy affair.
11:00We are prepared.
11:06Are you warming to him yet?
11:08Mr. Heath?
11:09Hmm.
11:09I'm not sure there's much to warm to.
11:11Give him time.
11:12He's rusty.
11:13Not the first woman in decades he's had a meaningful relationship with.
11:17It's what his enemies have always held against him.
11:20What?
11:21The fact he never married.
11:22People find it hard to trust a leader without a wife and family.
11:28Apparently there was a doctor's daughter.
11:30It was love at first sight.
11:34And she waited for him throughout the war.
11:37Only for Heath to chicken out at the last moment.
11:40So she married someone else.
11:42Where'd you get all this from?
11:44Some chap I met who knew Heath of old thinks that he never moved past it.
11:51How sad.
11:54There you are.
11:57When you find the right one, snap him up.
12:02As a central theme, it's perfect.
12:05For what?
12:06Your speech to mark our 25-year wedding anniversary.
12:10Why my speech?
12:11Because it's your turn.
12:13I made the one on our 10th anniversary.
12:18Something of a triumph, as I recall.
12:22One put issue.
12:24Speaking of love at first sight.
12:27I had the opportunity to read some of Charles' letters to Uncle David about his feelings for the Shand girl.
12:32I think we need to take it seriously.
12:34Why?
12:35I think he's really fallen in love.
12:38You don't love a girl like Camilla Shand?
12:41She's...
12:43She's a bit of fun.
12:45And a welcome distraction from the rigors of the Navy.
12:49The first few months can be pretty tough.
12:55Hey, Lord!
12:59Quicker!
13:00Strange things, daydreams.
13:03Get hungry, Windsor!
13:04You're safe during the 6 a.m. drills.
13:07All that shouting, exertion, rather blows the cobwebs away.
13:13You're even fairly safe in class.
13:16I mean, there's a rigor to astro-navigation in which one can lose oneself.
13:22No, the time you're most vulnerable is when you're out of sea.
13:28Something about the waves.
13:31One begins to disappear.
13:34And then suddenly, you're somewhere else entirely.
13:39And there's a feeling I've never had before.
13:43A sense of safety.
13:45And belonging.
13:48And all that loneliness having vanished.
13:54It's all rather miraculous.
13:57I think you are miraculous.
14:01Tell me, is there any part of all this that's...
14:04...surprised you?
14:05Of what?
14:08Uh...
14:09...friendship.
14:10You should ask if there's any part of this that hasn't surprised me.
14:14No good surprise?
14:16I think so.
14:18You don't sound certain.
14:19No, I am.
14:20I think.
14:22You seem to be doing a lot of thinking.
14:24It's a worse thing one can do.
14:27Why?
14:28I love thinking.
14:30Yes, and that's what makes things so confusing.
14:34It all gives them clarity.
14:37Not in this instance.
14:40But what we have is special.
14:42I know.
14:44But that's what makes things so confusing.
14:47Because I wasn't supposed to fall in love with you.
14:50None of this was supposed to happen.
14:53What?
14:54Damn, why?
14:55Hello.
14:55What was supposed to happen?
14:57Hello?
14:59We've run out of coins.
15:02Hello?
15:02Here.
15:17What?
15:20Okay.
15:23How come?
15:23How come?
15:23How come?
15:24How come?
15:26How come?
15:29Yeah, we're set.
15:31How come?
15:32How come?
15:45Shoulder, arms, inwards, tug.
15:54Hooray, we'll advance.
15:59Right, tug.
16:14That's not the face I'd hoped to see opposite me.
16:18Commander of the College wrote to me only last week,
16:21saying how encouraged he was by your progress.
16:26A progress which, in his estimation,
16:28compares you favorably with your father.
16:31And your grandfather before him
16:33and your great-grandfather before him.
16:36I know you had your own ideas,
16:38your vision of where you belong.
16:43I simply ask that you stick with it a little.
16:46It's not the College.
16:49Well, then what is it?
16:54Camilla.
16:56Sheld.
16:59You two still using one another, are you?
17:03We are.
17:05I like her very much.
17:07Good, good.
17:11I like her very much indeed.
17:14Mm-hmm.
17:15The situation is complicated.
17:19I'm not the only interested party.
17:22Oh.
17:24You mean the donkey walloper, Parker Bowles?
17:27Mm-hmm.
17:28Dickie, I don't want to lose her.
17:30Dear boy,
17:32you're not going to lose any woman.
17:34You're the Prince of Wales.
17:36I mean, I don't want to lose her ever.
17:39Mm-hmm.
17:45She's the one.
17:53Now I think you understand what I'm saying.
17:57And why I'm going to need your help
18:01with the family.
18:14Eyes
18:16right
18:21Eyes
18:22front
18:38My fault entirely.
18:41A shand girl
18:42was only ever meant to be an opportunity
18:44for an inexperienced boy
18:45to sow his wild oats.
18:51That's why I encouraged her
18:52she indulged it.
18:54I never expected him
18:55to develop feelings.
18:57Let alone nurture thoughts of...
18:59Don't even say it.
19:00It's madness.
19:02And as soon as that girl's back
19:03where she belongs
19:04with Derek's boy,
19:05the better.
19:06Mm, I agree.
19:09How shall we handle this?
19:11Well, I can take care of Charles.
19:13Nice long posting overseas
19:15will bring him to his senses.
19:17I'll speak to everyone at the Admiralty.
19:19Eight months on the other side of the world,
19:21it'll soon go away.
19:23Let's hope so.
19:26Can I leave the shams and a park of Bowles families to you?
19:30With pleasure.
19:49You play the organ, don't you?
19:53I do.
19:55And the pianoforte?
19:56Yes.
19:57What smooth, elegant hands you have.
20:00Long, delicate fingers.
20:05You ever seen a pit, Mr Heath?
20:07Of course.
20:08Not on your television.
20:09In person.
20:14Then,
20:16let's help you
20:18get acquainted.
20:28Pick it up.
20:30Go on.
20:33Touch it.
20:36Smell it.
20:42It's the next time you're playing the organ
20:44in some cathedral,
20:45having lofty thoughts in the heavens
20:47close to God.
20:48Think of my members,
20:49my comrades,
20:50down there in the heat
20:51and the darkness,
20:52digging for coal,
20:53because
20:53when they go to work
20:55and break their backs
20:56and risk their lives,
20:58they're nowhere near God.
20:59They're in hell.
21:01And they're doing that
21:02day in,
21:03day out,
21:03so that you
21:04and everyone else
21:05in this country
21:05can have heat
21:06and electricity
21:07and power.
21:08We will make no progress
21:09if you concentrate
21:10only on our differences.
21:11No, you're wrong.
21:12That's the only way
21:13we'll make progress.
21:14Until you recognise
21:15the miners' contribution
21:16to this country
21:17is what keeps the lights on
21:19in factories,
21:20schools,
21:20hospitals
21:21and grand rooms
21:22like these,
21:23then there could be
21:24no agreements made
21:25with the NUM.
21:26Let's talk for a minute
21:27about grand rooms like this.
21:29I'm just as much a stranger
21:30to rooms like this
21:31as you are.
21:32My father was a builder.
21:34I got here
21:35because I'm the leader
21:36of a political party
21:37elected by the people
21:38of this country
21:39to lead their government.
21:41This is not my home.
21:42This is the home
21:43the people of this country
21:44give the Queen's
21:45first minister.
21:46It is grand
21:47because we respect democracy.
21:50You can make
21:51simple assumptions
21:52about who I am
21:53by virtue of the fact
21:54that I play the organ.
21:55My parents couldn't afford
21:57to buy a piano for me.
21:58They had to pay for it
21:59in installments
22:00from a shop in Margate.
22:02Let's not waste time
22:03on bogus disagreements
22:05about a class struggle
22:07between you and me.
22:08I come from a background
22:10not so far removed
22:11from you.
22:14But I have chosen
22:15democracy
22:16unlike you.
22:18And I will not have you
22:20or any other hoodlum
22:22come in here
22:22and threaten
22:23a democratic government
22:24with undemocratic strikes.
22:26This government
22:27has its policy
22:28and will not be
22:30deviated from it.
22:32Ever.
22:38And we have ours.
22:42And nor will we.
23:01Now that talks
23:02between the government
23:03and the mine workers
23:04have broken down
23:05the prime minister
23:06has come up
23:06with a scheme
23:07for nationwide power cuts
23:09to conserve energy.
23:11Christ.
23:12I've seen battle plans
23:14that are less complicated.
23:15Well that's exactly
23:15what the government
23:16is calling it.
23:17A battle plan
23:18to defeat the miners.
23:20And we expect
23:21these power cuts
23:22to start soon?
23:23Yes ma'am.
23:24And for how long?
23:25For the rest of this month.
23:27Perhaps even year.
23:28What?
23:29This will devastate
23:30the country.
23:30Indeed.
23:31There will be interruptions
23:32to the normal functioning
23:33of government
23:33and the judiciary
23:35and the civil service.
23:36Hospitals may have
23:37to carry out operations
23:38by torchlight.
23:41But Mr. Heath
23:42is confident of victory.
23:47As prime minister
23:49I want to speak to you
23:51simply and plainly tonight
23:53about the grave emergency
23:55now facing our country.
23:58In the house of commons
24:00this afternoon
24:01I announced more
24:02severe restrictions
24:03on the use of electricity.
24:07We are asking you
24:09to cut down
24:10to the absolute minimum
24:12it's used for heating
24:13and for other purposes
24:14in your home.
24:16In industry
24:17we are limiting
24:19the supply of electricity
24:20to almost all factories
24:22shops and offices
24:24to three days a week.
24:26In terms of comfort
24:28we shall have
24:30a harder Christmas
24:31than we have known
24:32since the war.
24:35In the kind of country
24:37we live in
24:38there can be no we
24:40or they.
24:41it is only us
24:43all of us.
24:48If the government
24:49is defeated
24:50then the country
24:52is defeated.
25:18Major and Mrs. Shandt
25:19your majesty
25:19and Mr. and Mrs.
25:21Pocker Bowles.
25:30Thank you for coming
25:31Major Shandt.
25:32Your majesty.
25:33Mrs. Shandt
25:34your majesty.
25:35Derek.
25:36Your majesty.
25:37Anne.
25:37Your majesty.
25:39Please.
25:52You're probably wondering
25:54why I've invited
25:54all here this afternoon.
25:56It's a slightly delicate matter.
25:58Something of an imbroglio
25:59involving your son
26:01Derek
26:01your daughter
26:02Mrs. Shandt
26:03and my grandson
26:04the Prince of Wales.
26:11Windsor
26:12you want you on the
26:13quarter deck
26:14captain's office.
26:16Sir
26:22Windsor
26:23come in
26:33We now have the results
26:35from the exams
26:35and the examining body
26:37has concluded
26:38that you have met
26:39the necessary criteria
26:40to undertake your duties
26:42as officer of the watch.
26:45Your first official posting.
26:48Congratulations.
26:56Am I allowed to know
26:58where to
27:00Oh Christ
27:01not again
27:02Jenkins
27:03fetch another lamp
27:04and some candles
27:05will you?
27:05Yes sir.
27:44Your Royal Highness
27:47Martin
27:48Sir
27:50I wonder if the Queen might have a minute for me
27:52It's not the best moment, sir
27:53She's writing a speech
27:54Could you tell her I've come all the way from Dartmouth
27:57And that it's very important
27:59Of course, sir
28:10Excuse me, sir
28:12Excuse me, sir
28:14Excuse me, sir
28:23Your Majesty, we'll see you now, sir
28:32Sorry to interrupt, Mummy
28:33I didn't know you were on leave
28:35I'm not
28:36Then why are you here?
28:40I've come to ask you a question
28:44I've been given a posting
28:47Eight months
28:48In the Caribbean
28:50That's not a question
28:53I'm not happy about it
28:55Still not a question
28:56All right
28:58Here's the question
29:01Did you arrange it?
29:02Why would I have arranged it?
29:04To separate us
29:06Break us up
29:07Who?
29:09Camilla Shand and me
29:10You just said you've been given a promotion
29:12A posting
29:13Not a promotion
29:14And one that makes no sense
29:15I'm not eligible for a posting yet
29:17I'm not qualified
29:18People make all kinds of exceptions
29:20For members of the Royal Family
29:21Not the Navy
29:22They pride themselves on making no exceptions ever
29:25My question is
29:26Did you or anyone else in this family have something to do with this?
29:31Why would we do that?
29:32I have no idea
29:33Because she's not intact
29:37Or not the right family
29:38Or because she has a mind of her own
29:40Or perhaps just because it amuses everyone
29:42To take two people who are perfectly happy together
29:44And to find a reason to break them up
29:46Because there is history of that cruelty in this family
29:48Well I won't stand for it
29:50I won't be pushed aside like Uncle David
29:52Or Aunt Margot
29:54I won't stand for it
30:04Martin
30:09Queen Elizabeth and Lord Mountbatten
30:12I'd like to see them as soon as possible
30:14Together
30:29Everything was fine
30:31Everyone was getting what they wanted and needed from the arrangement
30:35Until the boys started talking about love
30:37But what if it is love?
30:39Shouldn't it be allowed to run its course?
30:41I was allowed to marry my choice
30:42That was different
30:43His rank was different
30:45The feelings were the same
30:46The times were different
30:48His past was different
30:50Philip was a royal prince
30:52Does that still matter in this day and age?
30:54It does
30:55The system is too fragile
30:59Too precious
31:00To let in unpredictable elements
31:02Dangerous elements
31:03Camilla isn't dangerous
31:04She's the first woman Charles has met
31:07That gives him confidence
31:07And comfort
31:08And self-belief
31:10Qualities I think we all agree
31:11He will one day need
31:13I understand
31:14You are both taking steps to protect the crown
31:17But given the history of this family
31:18I don't think we can afford to break up two people
31:21That truly love one another
31:22We've learnt that lesson time and time again
31:24Trust me
31:26This is anything but love
31:28This is anything but love
31:28Dickie
31:32There is something you should know
31:36Some man waiting in the sky
31:39He likes to love and meet us
31:42But he thinks he's all mine
31:44Some man waiting in the sky
31:49His soul is not to blow it
31:51Because he knows it's all about what he told me
31:55Let the children lose it
31:57Let the children use it
31:59Let all the children move it
32:04La la la la la la la
32:14La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
32:27la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
32:32la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
32:33la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
32:34la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
32:35la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
32:45Mmm...
32:47Mmm...
32:47Mmm...
32:47Mmm...
32:51Mmm...
32:52Is this the right thing to do?
33:01God, what's all this?
33:04Come in, darling.
33:16Well...
33:20We'd like to ask you some questions.
33:23And it's important, while answering those questions,
33:27that you remain clear-headed, unemotional, rational and calm.
33:32As opposed to what, the hysterical and neurotic way I normally behave?
33:39We need to talk to you about your brother.
33:41Which one? I have three.
33:44Charles.
33:47You're on?
33:49Specifically, the suitability of his match with Camilla Shand.
33:54Match?
33:55We believe it's his intention to ask her to marry him.
34:01Fine.
34:03As long as he's prepared for there to always be three in the marriage.
34:07The third being?
34:09Andrew Parker Bowles.
34:12Camilla's first love and the man she's still devoted to.
34:14She's not devoted to Charles?
34:16She likes Charles, but she's obsessed with Andrew.
34:20Spare me.
34:26How do you know all this?
34:28Because I was briefly caught up in it myself.
34:32Wait a minute.
34:33When?
34:34Then, in the past.
34:35It doesn't matter.
34:38It was all very straightforward.
34:39He got what he wanted, which was to make Camilla jealous.
34:42I got what I wanted.
34:44Which was a bit of fun.
34:46Fun?
34:46Yes.
34:47Sorry, Mummy.
34:47It was.
34:56Is that it?
34:57Inquisition over.
34:58Can I go now?
34:59Thank you, darling.
35:04I hope that wasn't too emotional for you all.
35:14I'd like to speak to Mummy alone.
35:15Right.
35:17That's our cue.
35:21Queens only.
35:38I'm not sure I know where to begin.
35:41Obviously.
35:41Poor Charles.
35:42Stupid, naive Charles.
35:44Yes.
35:45And Anne.
35:46Yes.
35:47I mean, who'd have thought it?
35:51Hmm.
35:54So, what's the next step?
35:55The families have been spoken to.
35:57A date has been set for Camilla to be married to the Parker Bowles boy.
36:00Good.
36:01All that's missing is for someone to let them know.
36:05Will you tell Charles?
36:07That would achieve nothing.
36:08It would achieve a great deal.
36:10It would clear the air.
36:12And since you approve of the decision, as his mother and Queen, it's the right thing to do.
36:17It would only create rancour and resentment.
36:20And while I may approve of the decision, none of this nonsense was my idea.
36:27Dickie can do it.
36:29This is his mess.
36:31Then what I will take upon a birthday.
36:34He will make my convention.
36:35Just greed.
36:41Together, we can trust the suspect.
36:42That's fine.
36:43Then what he will do is he will king, say?
36:44That's fine.
36:51So, Billy...
36:52This time he is so muddy as he was theerryman,
36:52will he pick?
36:53All right, Jack?
36:59If all he is in space,
37:14During yesterday's extended power cuts, it was almost impossible for many families who depend on electricity to cook or to
37:21heat and light their homes.
37:24Summer camping stoves and old paraffin lamps have been brought out of the attic and dusted down.
37:29It's now almost impossible to buy a candle, a stove or a heater.
37:34In ironmongers, it's always the same notice and orders for fresh supplies have been in for days.
37:40With millions now unable to work, people have taken to the streets and tensions are starting to rise.
37:50There are now genuine fears for the stability of the country and the maintenance of law and order.
37:56I don't know where to begin.
38:00What to say.
38:03Is it true? Do you love Andrew?
38:06It's complicated.
38:08Nothing complicated about it.
38:10It's a yes or no answer. Do you love him?
38:17Yes. In a manner of speaking.
38:20I'm such a fool.
38:23But the more time I spent with you, the more I got to know you, the more my feelings changed.
38:29Transport is waiting, sir.
38:35Obviously not enough.
38:36But that's not true.
38:39Whatever anyone tells you, you must believe that my feelings for you are real.
38:46Then why have we allowed them to do this?
38:48Because apparently this way it'll be better for everyone.
38:52In the long run.
39:27If it were the occasional blackout, I would understand.
39:30But when it disrupts everyday life up and down the country, indeed threatens lives,
39:35threatens law and order, I do begin to wonder whether we really have taken the right course of action.
39:39Well, ma'am, the government is not to blame.
39:41The National Union of Mine Workers has been given every opportunity and has rejected offer after offer.
39:46Alas, a more than generous package worth 48 million pounds was met with wholesale contempt.
39:52But that does not explain the blackouts.
39:54I distinctly remember you assuring me that the government had stockpiled enough coal to weather any storm.
40:00And yet, here we are.
40:01It's true. The strikes have lasted longer than we anticipated.
40:05And the stubbornness of the miners and unions has been considerably more violent.
40:10I think we can safely say there has been stubbornness on both sides.
40:13And one does wonder if we have failed to understand the scale of the miners' anger.
40:17Indeed, if we have failed to understand them as people.
40:32The
41:17Wedding anniversary speech written?
41:20Yes.
41:21Excessively gushing in the liege man of life and limp department?
41:26I do feel slightly for Charles.
41:30Yes.
41:33It will hurt.
41:35And for a while, it might even feel like a betrayal.
41:40But then you'll come to his senses and it will be forgotten.
41:46I hope so.
42:07I must admit, my Lord Mayor, that the first 25 years of marriage have rather crept up on us.
42:16I'm not much given to philosophizing, but from time to time, one is presented with an opportunity to reflect upon
42:25what has contributed to the success of something.
42:29And in the case of our marriage, it's family.
42:32A network of brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers, cousins and relations.
42:47A filigree of a thousand tiny threads woven together by blood, kinship and trust.
43:04Only there, within that crucible of family relationships, can a successful union between two people be forged.
43:17Fealty, fealty, allegiance, and devotion, these are Christian values that sustain a marriage, and that bind a family together.
43:34To realize that elusive state of being a happy family is a tireless struggle, a battle.
43:43But it is a battle worth fighting, for there is nothing in life to match it.
43:53The right kind of partnership, with the right kind of partner, is the foundation on which a successful family must
44:04rest.
44:07Marriage is a proposition some in the modern world would question.
44:13But it is a proposition about which, when asked, I can reply plainly and unequivocally.
44:23I am for it.
