00:00If President Trump's threats become a reality, one of the biggest impacts felt here at home
00:04will of course be on gas prices. But Energy Secretary Chris Wright says the pain at the
00:09pump should begin to ease soon. Although he admits gas prices may take a while to return
00:14to pre-war levels. Here's what he said on CNN Sunday when asked when we can expect to see gas
00:19below $3 a gallon again. That could happen later this year. That might not happen until next year,
00:24but prices have likely peaked and they'll start going down, certainly with a resolution of
00:29this conflict. You'll see prices go down. Prices across the board on energy prices will go down.
00:35Gas Buddy says the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded topped out at $4.16 earlier this
00:41month, still well below the record of 5.01 in June of 2022. Secretary Wright's prediction hinges on
00:47that ceasefire that I mentioned and what does or doesn't happen this week in Pakistan.
