SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS. – Lo que estaba programado como una manifestación motorizada por diversas calles de este municipio, fue suspendida de manera abrupta este domingo ante la masiva presencia de agentes de la Policía Nacional, quienes establecieron controles en puntos estratégicos para neutralizar la movilización.  La actividad, convocada por colectivos populares en el marco de las reivindicaciones sociales de la región y parte de un llamado a huelga del próximo 27 de abril, no pudo concretarse debido a que los agentes policiales procedieron a la retención de motocicletas y a impedir el paso de los participantes que intentaban llegar al punto de encuentro.  Denuncian "Represión"  Momón Rodríguez, vocero de la Asociación de Campesinos Sin Tierra "San Juan Bautista", calificó la acción como un acto de represión que violenta los derechos constitucionales.  "Se convirtió en una caravana policial. Es una actitud que riñe profundamente contra la Constitución de la República, porque el derecho a la manifestación está contemplado en ella", afirmó el dirigente ante las cámaras.
