03:24And sure, he hasn't pressed the self-destruct button on his life, but he's still a shitty captain
03:29Because instead of steering his life toward long-term fulfillment and success
03:33He has chosen to put his ship on idle and let himself drift aimlessly
03:38Through a life of short-term pleasures as he remains inebriated by distractions
03:43Many things in our lives are just distractions
03:47This includes social media, television, mindless YouTube videos, video games, and trivia
03:54All of those are perfect ways to waste away your life
03:58They give you little to no value and are easily addictive
04:01So in order to begin to let success flourish
04:04One must eliminate or at least greatly reduce mindless, consumptive activities
04:10And sure, it sounds simple
04:12But think about how many people come home after school or work and plop themselves in front of their Xbox
04:17Open up a bag of chips
04:18And spend 8 hours cursing at kids over call of duty
04:22With a couple of masturbation breaks flipped in in between
04:25Now imagine how many people do that night
04:27After night after night
04:29For weeks or even months at a time
04:31That is the exact wrong thing to do
04:34You are in a perpetual state of inaction, consumption, and inebriation
04:39Another incorrect example is something many of us are guilty of
04:43You just finished an intense beast mode workout
04:46And you step out of the gym
04:47Walk across the street
04:48And grab a couple of Big Macs from McDonald's
04:50In this situation
04:52You may have did something to make you successful
04:54But you failed at avoiding that which makes you unsuccessful
04:57Essentially negating your progress
04:59Another quick example would be
05:01The fat lady who thinks she's on a diet because she only eats salads
05:05But she drinks a diet coke every single hour on the hour
05:09You won't build a healthy body fortress or a healthy mind
05:13By binging on McDonald's
05:15The best outcome possible in the dichotomy of success
05:18Will look something like this
05:21Instead of smoking crack
05:22You go and get a job
05:24And then after you get home from work
05:25You head into the gym instead of playing Halo
05:27And then once you get home from the gym
05:29Instead of eating junk food
05:31You cook chicken, white rice, and black beans for dinner
05:34Success is simple to understand
05:36Half of your success comes from engaging in activities that foster success
05:41And the other half comes from avoiding activities that leads to being unsuccessful
05:46A deeper look into success would be seeing it as a trichotomy of actions
05:51That consists of consumptions, investments, and productions
05:56The trichotomy is a nuanced subject
05:59But the overall idea is easy to understand
06:01Concept 2
06:03The Trichotomy of Actions
06:05Every action you take can fall under one of three categories
06:09The first category is known as consumptions
06:13Which consume your time yet add little to no value to your life
06:17We've already covered them
06:19But I'll say them again
06:20Video games, social media, television, basic examples
06:24The second category of actions one can take are known as investments
06:28Which are by nature consumptive actions that do not directly produce anything
06:33But result in long-term benefit
06:35Lifting weights is a perfect example of an investment
06:39You aren't directly producing anything
06:41There aren't any immediate tangible results in doing it
06:45And you consume time, or as I like to see it, invest time in doing the action
06:49However, there is an undeniable long-term benefit
06:53Other examples of investments are learning a new language
06:57Learning to play songs on an instrument
06:59Or learning a martial art
07:01All of these activities involve consuming knowledge
07:04Without directly producing anything
07:06But still result in a long-term benefit
07:09The final category of actions are known as productions
07:13Which are actions that result in the creation of a product that has value
07:17So examples of productions would be writing a book
07:20Or a few pages in that book
07:22To making a film
07:23Creating a painting
07:24Painting an essay
07:25Creating your own song
07:27And much more
07:27That just about covers the first two basic aspects of monk mode
07:32And here's a quick rundown on the first two concepts
07:36The dichotomy of success
07:38It states that your success is built upon two actions
07:42Doing things that make you successful
07:44And avoiding things that make you unsuccessful
07:46One path to being unsuccessful is that of destructive action
07:50The other path is that of apathetic inaction
07:54The trichotomy of actions
07:56It states that there are three categories your actions may fall under
08:00Which are consumptions
08:02Investments
08:03And improvements
08:05TLDR
08:05Quit wasting your fucking time, nigga
08:08You shouldn't be hunting for pussy if you're a depressed mess
08:11Instead of running down the hill to fuck one bitch
08:13Walk down the hill to fuck them all
08:16Tune in to the next video for the last two fundamentals
08:19Live victoriously
08:21And don't forget to subscribe
08:28Monk mode is an easy to understand concept
08:31And when implemented
08:32Will lead to direct, lifelong success
08:35Success is contingent upon understanding the basics of your pursuit
08:40A champion boxer before he learned how to throw combos
08:43Was being taught how to breathe and how to move
08:46If you don't know what monk mode is
08:48Then you need to go and watch my first video
08:51And if you've seen it already, here's a very quick recap
08:54Monk mode is a noun
08:55And it means mitigating distractions
08:57And focusing on introspection and self-improvement
09:01For a given period of time
09:02That's from the Red Pill Glossary
09:04Monk mode also has four basic principles
09:07The dichotomy of success
09:09The trichotomy of actions
09:11The balancing act
09:13And building strengths
09:14While minimizing weaknesses
09:16The first two concepts were covered in my video
09:19Monk mode the basics part 1
09:21With the recap out of the way
09:23Let's jump in to the final two basic concepts of monk mode
09:28Concept 3
09:29The balancing act
09:31Your life is finite
09:33The most valuable resource a man has in his arsenal
09:37Is his time
09:38Where a man decides to invest his time
09:42Is the difference between a loser and a winner
09:44In order to live an optimized, victorious life
09:48One must balance their time
09:50Between winning in real life
09:51By testing their skills
09:53Training for the future
09:55By building themselves up
09:56And recovering from the past
09:58As in having fun
09:59Relaxing
10:00And giving yourself a chance to rest
10:03An unhappy
10:04Dissatisfied
10:05And overworked life
10:07Is a result of living improperly balanced
10:10You don't want to end up like the guy who smokes weed all day and does nothing
10:14Or how about the guy who lifts 7 days a week and looks exactly the same as when he started
10:18And let's not forget about the guy who spends all day working then complains about not having friends or girlfriends
10:25All of these guys are examples of unbalanced lives
10:29And I promise you they all result in the same outcomes
10:33Unhappiness
10:34The problem they suffer from is they're unable to properly balance their time
10:39So you know what they do instead?
10:40They either bet all their chips at once on one roulette slot
10:44Or they let their time waste away until it's dead
10:48Dead time is any time not spent growing or recovering
10:52Wasting time is the worst thing you can do for your development as a human
10:57You know what makes me feel guilty?
11:00When I could be doing something productive
11:02But I waste my time instead
11:04A man who respects time disrespects himself for wasting it
11:08If an ambitious man is productive, he is happy
11:11If he's not, he isn't
11:13He doesn't achieve because he wants to, but rather because he has to
11:17This is the way his life must be
11:19For if his happiness would not tie to his productivity
11:22His life would not be a life worth living
11:25The words of Illimitable Man
11:29The winners of this world make sure that their entire day down to the second
11:33Is filled with effective and productive time use
11:35The mediocre, the ignorant, they don't have dreams
11:39They don't have ambitions
11:40They just wander in a sleepwalking daze through life
11:44You are better than that
11:45Do not kill your time
11:48Here are some examples
11:50Let's say your workout schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
11:53Tuesday and Thursday are not wasted days
11:56They are days when you spend recovering and building muscle
12:00To train on these days is detrimental
12:02This is not dead time
12:04But if you begin skipping workout days when you're refreshed and capable of building
12:09That's time that could be useful literally dying in your hands
12:13Another example
12:14Let's say you just finished a stressful day at work but you achieved a lot
12:18You get home, turn on Netflix, and watch four hours worth of shows
12:22Take a warm bath, and read a book while listening to Chill Hop
12:26This is not dead time
12:28You're recovering from the hardships of the day
12:31And taking a breather while healing yourself
12:35But when the weekend rolls around
12:37And you wake up refreshed and ready to tackle the day
12:40You better not choose to keep watching Netflix
12:43Because if you do, then my friend, you are living in dead time
12:46You are not recovering, and what you're doing is not useful
12:49You'd be murdering your time
12:52So, how do you balance time?
12:55Find what you're good at, and what brings you the most results in your life
12:59Then balance your life around those areas and hobbies
13:02You have to define what activities you think are important and beneficial to your life
13:08And spend your time doing that
13:10If you find yourself doing something that doesn't benefit you
13:13Then your time is misbalanced, and you need to cut that out
13:16This concept isn't hard to get
13:18Your mission now is to assess your day and try to realize how much of your time is really dead
13:23time
13:24Scrolling through Facebook or fucking around doing nothing
13:27I guarantee you it will be too much
13:29And then you will cut it down and replace it with what is actually important and productive in your life
13:35But, hey, don't take what I said and become a workaholic
13:39Rest is very important
13:42Like I said, proper breaks and fun is vital
13:46Let yourself hang out with your friends and talk about dumb shit goofing off
13:51Give yourself the freedom to call over that hot girl and just fuck her brains out
13:55There is such thing as working too much
13:58Every single culture in the world has a concept of a day of rest
14:02A day where you just stop, take a breather, and relax for a while
14:07Use this day as a cheat day
14:09Allow yourself to do the shit you know is bad for you
14:12This is your day to do absolutely nothing and just shut down
14:18As long as you keep your indulgences compartmentalized to one day
14:22The urge to indulge on any other day will diminish
14:25That's the funny thing about this
14:27Eventually, you'll find your day of rest starts to become more productive
14:32Let's say you drink vodka after a long week of work
14:35As time goes on, you'll slowly realize you don't even really want that booze anymore
14:41Balancing your life will improve your happiness and help you realize what your priorities are in your life
14:49Concept 4
14:50Building strengths while minimizing weaknesses
14:55This phrase is simple and in my opinion the most important
14:58Yet, it's surrounded by confusion
15:00So let's clarify it all right now
15:03When someone tells you to build strengths, it means two things
15:06First, get better at what you're good at
15:09Good at what you're okay at
15:11Second, put yourself in positions to demonstrate your strengths
15:15If you're a great writer, become an award-winning novelist
15:18If you're very intelligent, become a philosopher or scientist
15:22If you're a great painter, get your work into galleries
15:25And if you're a lousy cook, develop one dish that's orgasmic
15:29And a few others that are all right
15:31Your being is a castle
15:33You want to develop, emphasize, and show off the most beautiful, strongest, impenetrable sections of the castle
15:40While ensuring the rest is at the very least up to par
15:43Because you're only as strong as your weakest link
15:46Jack of all trades, master of one
15:49That's your motto
15:50You're going to want to focus most of your energy on pursuits you have a natural affinity for
15:54And your remaining energy on improving things you suck at
15:58This is known as the Paratio Principle
16:0080% of your results come from 20% of your actions
16:04If you have five hobbies and one of those benefits your life in endless ways
16:09While the others are just for fun
16:11You know where and how you must balance your time
16:14But, before you bring guests over to your castle
16:17The damn thing's gotta be worth seeing first
16:19That means, develop and hone your talents in private
16:23That way, you'll avoid any unnecessary failures
16:26If you're a pianist, you're not going to want to practice your song for the first time in front of
16:31a live audience
16:32Unless you want to look like a retard
16:34Build your skills in private
16:36Then, take your skills and show them off to the world
16:40That's stage two of building strengths
16:42You must put yourself into positions to demonstrate your strengths
16:47And this is so easy and fun
16:49Just hang out in places and situations where you excel and are perceived as the leader in alpha
16:55Got an amazing physique? Go to the beach
16:58You're a concert pianist? Play at an airport piano
17:01Be in areas that showcase your skills
17:04What's the point of being an amazing juggler?
17:07If you never show anyone you can throw 17 burning knives blindfolded
17:11Sounds impressive, but nobody gives a fuck about what they can't see
17:15It is critical to your development as a victorious man
17:18To demonstrate your skills and strengths
17:21And then, succeed in competition and battle
17:24This is the only way to gain true confidence
17:28The only way you can honestly tell yourself you have a strength
17:32Is to put it to the test and win
17:34And as you put yourself out into the world
17:37You'll find challengers and contests emerge from the woodworks
17:41As if the universe itself were testing your abilities
17:44These challenges are benchmarks you must conquer
17:48In order to continue on in life
17:51We ain't out here trying to build skills that we keep as hidden secrets in the Batcave
17:55Talking all that
17:56As long as I know I'm good, that's all that matters
17:59Bullshit, aight? That's some beta male bitch shit, bro
18:03We out here to fucking win, nigga
18:05Another great way to ensure victory is to minimize weaknesses
18:10Going back to your castle, you're only as strong as your weakest links
18:14To minimize your weaknesses, you must do two things
18:17First, you gotta get okay at what you're shit at
18:20And second, you gotta remove yourself from situations where your weaknesses are exposed
18:25You don't go around flashing your weak points to your enemies, do you?
18:29Why would you, unless you're trying to get killed?
18:31If you don't know a damn thing about cars, don't try and fit in with the street racer crowd
18:35And at the very least, have a company on file you can call to help you if you blow out
18:40a tire
18:41Now you're not completely helpless
18:44If you can't draw, don't be a tattoo artist
18:47If you aren't strong, don't try and ego lift 500 pounds and kill yourself
18:51If you can't sing, do not audition for America's Got Talent
18:55All of that will lead to unneeded and unhelpful embarrassment and failure
19:00Seriously, only a masochist would do this
19:03Unnecessary failure is not noble
19:07Remember, your time is finite
19:09Don't waste your time doing things you suck at
19:12If you're a terrible cook, you probably won't end up the next Chef Ramsay
19:16But I guarantee there's at least one talent you have
19:20That if Ramsay tried, you'd fucking destroy him
19:23Which leads us to the conclusion
19:24Be the strongest version of yourself
19:27Be who you are, do what you're good at
19:31Arnold Schwarzenegger could never be as smart as Neil Tyson
19:35And Neil couldn't reach Arnie's physique even if he tried
19:39In the same notion, you're not like either of them as well
19:42But I guarantee there's something you could do that would completely school the both of them
19:47Don't try to be something or someone you're not
19:50Like the suburban white kid trying to act hood
19:53Who goes into the actual hood and gets robbed
19:55He ain't bout that life
19:57Don't let that be you
19:58Instead, focus your time on what you're good at
20:01And place yourself in situations where you excel and demonstrate your skills and strengths
20:06And with all this time you've spent developing yourself into the best man you can be
20:10Remember to balance your time
20:12And give yourself a chance to rest
20:14There's nothing wrong with enjoying life
20:18That's it for the fundamental basics of monk mode
20:21Now you're ready to start developing the kind of life you truly desire
