00:00Carolina as a slight favorite to win this series at 62%, underdog Ottawa at 38%.
00:06Looking at the Senators in the Hurricanes series, how do we think this plays out?
00:10You know, really, I think the Hurricanes are the better team by leaps and bounds, essentially.
00:16I really think they're the better team compared to Ottawa.
00:18Now, listen, Ottawa started off the year really slow.
00:21They struggled through the mid-portion, and they turned things on as of late in order to secure their spot.
00:26You know, frankly, I see the Canes winning this series 4-2.
00:28That's kind of where I'm leaning.
00:30I don't think it's going to be easy in those winning games for the Canes, but they are the better
00:34team.
00:35And, frankly, if they can get past this round, they can get past that next round versus the Penguins and
00:39the Flyers.
00:40They have the easiest and cleanest path to get to the conference finals out of any team on any side
00:45of the bracket.
00:48Feels like Ottawa is the one side there that you're picking a long shot.
00:54That's the long shot right there, right, Ottawa?
00:56Because has the goaltender situation in Carolina changed at all?
01:02Are we expecting anything different here?
01:05I mean, Ottawa's got a puncher's chance here, don't they?
01:08They do.
01:09Pyotr Kachekov was activated from long-term IR on the last game of the season.
01:14He wasn't able to play, but he is eligible for the postseason.
01:16So, you know, he is a solid goaltender.
01:18I've always said about the Canes, because they've had their issues when Freddie Anderson was in there in the past
01:22few years.
01:22The defense and the system in front of the goalie is fantastic.
01:26What Rod Brinmore has done is why they've had so much success.
01:29The goalie themselves, with Freddie Anderson having his individual struggles, that has always kind of been the nice edge for
01:35the Canes, whether they succeed or whether they fail.
01:38So, if Ottawa can get goals early, that's when they have the chance.
01:41Like, I don't think Ottawa wins games 2-1, 1-0.
01:45They're going to have to score to keep up with the Canes.
01:47But they do have a shot to take some games away.
01:50Great stuff here, Tommy, talking about that series.
01:52And the Keystone State is going to be on fire this weekend, starting Saturday night at 8 p.m.
01:57The Hatred is back.
01:59It's the Philadelphia Flyers in the playoffs to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates.
02:03And if you see any of those shenanigans from the past, Flyers fans don't like Pittsburgh fans.
02:08Pittsburgh fans don't like Flyers fans.
02:09And so we go.
02:10On Calcio in the marketplace, and no surprise, the Penguins are a favorite, but only around 56%.
02:15However, the opening of the marketplace here, Tom, started around 51%, 49%.
02:20So, it's widened a little bit in Pittsburgh's favorite here, Penguins and the Flyers.
02:24It's been a minute since the Flyers came back in the playoffs.
02:26But here we are, Tom.
02:27What are we thinking?
02:28You know, frankly, I think the series is a complete toss-up.
02:31You know, between this series, between Dallas and Minnesota, I think these series are complete toss-ups.
02:34You know, looking at this on a game-by-game basis, I would say just give me the dog in
02:38every game.
02:38Because I don't know what's going to happen.
02:40Coming into the season, I was very low on the Penguins.
02:42I just didn't think they had enough depth.
02:44I think their goaltending is average.
02:45But when the top-end talent with Crosby and Malkin, you know, get going, they can carry that team to
02:50a lot of victories.
02:52The Flyers on the other side, it really has to be that young talent.
02:55You know, Zegers has been absolutely awesome.
02:57Seeing Sean Couturier back in there at top form has been fantastic.
03:00It has to be a system win for the Flyers, and it's going to have to be the top-end
03:03win for the Penguins.
03:04It has to be a system win for the Penguins.
