00:06A senior police officer was among six men charged at four separate sessions courts in Kuala Lumpur
00:13on Thursday with armed gang robbery at residential areas in Kepong, allegedly masterminding a
00:19syndicate that made off with luxury cars, gold bars and millions of ringgit invaluables.
00:24The six accused are DSP Ahmad Ruzaini, Ahmad Dahalan, a suspended police officer and former
00:30member of the Commercial Crime Investigation Department at Bukit Aman, Abdul Samad Shari,
00:35Faridzuan Yahya, Lim Chiel K, Yo Choon Siang and L. Ji Jayendran.
00:41The alleged offences took place at a residential area in Desa Park City in the early hours of April 5th
00:47between 4 a.m. and 8.10 a.m.
00:50According to two of the charges, Ahmad Ruzaini was jointly accused with the five others of
00:55committing robbery while exhibiting a pistol against two individuals, thereby causing fear
01:00of death.
01:01The firearm charge carries a jail term of 30 to 40 years and no less than six strokes of
01:07the cane upon conviction.
01:09Ahmad Ruzaini also faces an additional charge of gang robbery, which carries up to 20 years
01:14in jail and caning.
01:15The five remaining accused faced three similar charges for the same place and time.
01:21All six accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
01:25No bail was offered for any of the accused and the court fixed May 25th for next mention.
