00:15Hello and good evening from the greatest city in the world, New York City.
00:21What a gorgeous night here in the Big Apple.
00:25What a stage for such a special press conference.
00:27I cannot wait to get into all of this and more.
00:32Welcome inside the one and only Palladium Times Square.
00:36What a great venue this is.
00:37Just wrapped up an amazing boxing press conference, but now we are switching things up in a very interesting way.
00:44You know, a month ago we were in Los Angeles for a historic press conference.
00:49We are back with some of those same faces, but we have now leveled up.
00:53We've got some new faces here today, and that's part of the reason why I am so excited to be
00:58here.
00:58Of course, we are just 31 days away now from a historic event.
01:03Never before has an MMA card aired live on the biggest streaming platform in the world.
01:09This one, Netflix, 325 million plus subscribers.
01:15But on May 16th, again, just 31 days from right here and now, that will all change.
01:22MVP, Most Valuable Promotions, presenting the very first mixed martial arts card ever on Netflix.
01:30We've had boxing events before.
01:32They've been great, but never MMA, which is near and dear to my heart.
01:35And you found out last month that it's going to be a dream fight in the main event.
01:42Five rounds, 145 pounds, trailblazer versus pioneer, Ronda Rousey versus Gina Carano,
01:50a fight that no one ever thought would happen.
01:53Certainly not in 2026.
01:55It's going down in 31 days.
01:57You also saw last month that it's Francis Ngannou versus Philippe Lins,
02:02the lineal MMA heavyweight champion of the world returning to mixed martial arts,
02:07le prédateur Francis Ngannou, against the streaking Philippe Lins.
02:12And we found out very recently, among a sea of other announcements,
02:16that it's the true BMF champ versus the king of violence,
02:21Nathan Diaz versus Mike Perry, also on this card.
02:26Those six fighters will be here today.
02:29They will be competing next month at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
02:34And tickets remain as of now.
02:37But they're moving fast.
02:39So go to Ticketmaster.com if you want to snap them up.
02:42If you want to be there.
02:44If you can't be there, again, Netflix is the place to be.
02:49325 million subscribers will have access to this.
02:52No pay-per-view required.
02:53It is going to be absolute theater on May 16th in Cali.
02:58Now, I am going to introduce these fighters.
03:00I am going to talk to these fighters.
03:02The media in attendance are going to talk to the fighters as well.
03:05It is going to be electric.
03:06But, as I said, we're leveling it up.
03:09Some new faces are here.
03:10And so it is my absolute honor to welcome back to the world of MMA, another trailblazer, another pioneer.
03:18This guy has been in the combat sports business for maybe five decades at this point.
03:24I don't want to age him.
03:25He's forever known as the babysitter to the stars.
03:29He is the incomparable Burt Watson.
03:33Burt Watson, please give a warm New York welcome to the one and only Burt Watson, everyone.
03:38Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:40Let me tell you something, baby.
03:42New York City's got the best and the loudest fans in the world.
03:47So, MVP New York City, make some noise, yeah.
03:55Oh, shit, now I know you can do better than that.
03:57Make some noise, yeah.
04:03It don't get no bigger than this, baby.
04:06You have got coming to you the best fight you are ever going to see.
04:10We got Flip Lins, Francis Ngannou, we got Nate Diaz, Mike Perry, Gina Carano, and Ronda Rousey.
04:21So, when they get out here, baby, you shout how much you appreciate it.
04:25Let me hear you one more time.
04:27Make some noise, yeah, all night long.
04:34My man, freaking legend.
04:39Every single fighter that has fought for the past 15 years or so knows that man.
04:44That voice means something to him.
04:46That makes me feel some sort of way.
04:48That takes me back to a time where MMA was very, very special.
04:51So great to have Burt Watson involved in this promotion.
04:54All right, now let us introduce the fighters.
04:56It is my distinct honor to do so.
04:59First, let us say hello to a veteran of Bellator, the UFC, PFL, tournament champion as well.
05:06This man is taking a big step up.
05:08But like I said, he is streaking.
05:10He's on a four-fight winning streak heading into this fight.
05:13And he is looking to slay the giant.
05:15He is the pride of Brazil.
05:18Philippe Lins.
05:33Philippe Lins, fired up, ready to go.
05:37Massive opportunity for him.
05:39And of course, his opponent is, as I said earlier, the lineal MMA heavyweight champion of the world.
05:48The baddest man on the planet.
05:51He represents Cameroon, France, Las Vegas, where he trains with his team as well.
05:58Oh my gosh, it's so great to be in the presence of the predator, Francis Nganou.
06:23Great to see Francis in the house as well.
06:26I cannot wait to introduce these next two fighters.
06:29Because we've seen these guys already.
06:31But we haven't seen these next two in the same vicinity, at the same press conference, about to fight each
06:36other in 31 days' time.
06:38First, let's talk to the man who originates from Flint, Michigan.
06:43Now training out of Florida.
06:44You know that he is one of the most colorful, eclectic, entertaining fighters in the history of MMA.
06:50He left the UFC several years ago and then really started to make a name for himself in the world
06:56of bare-knuckle fighting.
06:57And in doing so, became the originator, the founder of the King of Violence title.
07:06He is still the reigning defending King of Violence champion.
07:10He is the platinum one, Mike Perry!
07:22Thank you, brother.
07:27Great to see Mike Perry as well.
07:30And it is so very exciting to welcome our next guest.
07:34MMA royalty from one of the most beloved families in the history of mixed martial arts.
07:40What more can you say about this man?
07:41You know he hails from the 209.
07:44You know he hails from Stockton, California.
07:46You know he is often imitated, never duplicated.
07:49You know that people try to copy his style and his ideas.
07:53You know that he came up with the BMF title and, in my opinion, still holds that belt till this
07:58day.
07:59He is the originator of the BMF title.
08:02He is the real BMF.
08:04He is the one and only Nathan Diaz!
08:27I did it.
08:27I got it right.
08:28I got it right.
08:33Come on now.
08:35Is this not surreal?
08:37Do you not have goosebumps up and down your spine?
08:39Look at these guys.
08:40And now let's talk to the headliners.
08:42Now let's say hello to the two ladies who will be making history again.
08:45They know a thing or two about making history.
08:48Same thing.
08:49Same thing.
08:50First lady that we're going to say hello to made history way back in the day.
08:542007.
08:54First female fight on premium cable.
08:57Then in 2009.
08:59Part of the first women's main event for a major MMA organization.
09:03Then went and conquered Hollywood.
09:05Did her thing there.
09:06But now, when we least expected it, is coming back to MMA to headline the very first card on Netflix.
09:13Again, the words pioneer and trailblazer and all those things, hero, all those things get thrown around.
09:19They apply to the one they call conviction.
09:23Please give a warm New York City welcome to the one and only Gina Carano.
09:48So if you know your MMA history, and I know she doesn't like when people say this, but she started
09:55that run with the baton, with that torch.
09:57She was the first to really put women's MMA on the map.
10:01And then shortly thereafter, when she went and did her thing over in Hollywood, a new face came along.
10:06And she was submitting everyone on the regional scene.
10:09And then she went to Strikeforce and she was doing it again.
10:11We had never seen anyone with a finisher quite like this one before.
10:15And then she forced the UFC to finally welcome the women to the octagon.
10:20And in 2013, in Anaheim, California, she made history winning the first ever women's MMA fight to ever take place
10:28in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
10:29And then she went on an incredible run.
10:32And then she went on to conquer the world of pro wrestling.
10:35And then she became a wife and a mom and did her thing.
10:37And then she brought this fight to Netflix.
10:40Please, everyone, say hello to the Olympic bronze medalists, to the former UFC women's bantamweight champion,
10:46to the former WWE champion, to the one and only, to the often imitated, never duplicated.
10:51I'll say it once again.
10:53Rowdy Ronda Rousey!
11:14Look at this.
11:17Take all the pictures.
11:18Take all the...
11:18Look at this.
11:19Look at these faces.
11:20Look at these names.
11:21This is a massive, massive deal on a massive platform, historic stuff.
11:25And as a lot of you know in attendance, this card, top to bottom, is extremely deep and stacked.
11:32We'll get into that as the day rolls along and evening as well.
11:35Ronda, I'll start with you.
11:36You were on fire last month at that press conference.
11:38And you've been on fire ever since.
11:40How has it been being a part of this promotion, sort of leading the charge and getting everyone to know
11:45about
11:45what you want to say and what you're doing for May 16th?
11:50Well, it's actually been really fun coming back and realizing how much I love it.
11:56You know, press always seemed like such a chore before.
11:58And coming back to the last press conference, I was like, you know what?
12:01I'm really fucking good at this.
12:02This is really fun.
12:04And this is a really special event.
12:07This is something that's going to happen once in a lifetime at MMA.
12:10This is the beginning of something huge.
12:13And I'm just so grateful to everybody that's on the stage today that's willing to be a part of it.
12:19Did you realize how much you missed this?
12:21Being in front of the public, talking about fighting, training, the whole thing.
12:25Everything that goes into preparing for a real fight.
12:27Did you realize how much you missed this?
12:29No.
12:29I didn't realize it at all until I was on stage telling people to go fuck themselves.
12:33I was like, man, I miss doing this.
12:35I've been watching a lot of Miss Rachel.
12:38I thought you were going to say you didn't realize how much you missed talking to me as well.
12:41But we're working.
12:42We're working towards that.
12:44Gina, it's great to see you again.
12:45It really is great to see you again.
12:47And you have been on a roll as well with your promotion leading up to the fight.
12:50And so I'll ask you the same question.
12:52Did you realize how much you missed this as well?
12:54Because I feel like everything you've been saying has been so positive about the experience,
12:58about the road to this point.
12:59And so I kind of feel like you have the same sort of sentiment.
13:04I feel like I get to do this again, but like the right way, with the right vibe,
13:09with an incredible opponent, groundbreaking.
13:13And I just, I feel real peace and excitement about it.
13:18So it's not anxiety.
13:19It's like excitement.
13:20And that's new for me.
13:22Is there any sort of, okay, so you talk about the word anxiety.
13:26Is there any sort of like nerves?
13:28Because it's almost like you're starting your career all over again.
13:30It has been a while since you rode that bike.
13:32Do you feel like a debutante all over again, a rookie?
13:35Or do you feel like someone who's just kind of getting back on the horse, so to speak?
13:38No, I feel like, I kind of feel like I snap back into it.
13:43And I keep on snapping back into where I was when I was fighting originally.
13:47So I feel like it wasn't too long ago in a weird way.
13:51I don't know if anybody else feels that way.
13:54I feel like I just fought in a way.
13:56It was just yesterday.
13:58It was just, yeah, just yesterday.
13:59A New York minute ago, as they say.
14:02Nathan, good to see you, my man.
14:04Good to talk to you.
14:08You represent the West Coast, but you get a lot of love on the East Coast too.
14:15Are you streaming this?
14:17Well, I am now, yeah.
14:19Okay, all right.
14:21You can tell people where to watch it as well.
14:23They're watching it on YouTube.
14:24YouTube, why did you make the decision to sign up for this card, to be a part of this, and
14:29to fight this man?
14:31I thought it was a big opportunity, a good thing, Netflix's first MMA card.
14:36And then to be alongside these guys right here, the best of the best, especially the best
14:46of the free, we out here, and we got good opponents, Gina Carano, Legend, Juan Rousey,
14:54Francis, and then some really good fighters.
14:57It's an honor to be on the card.
14:59I'm glad I'm here.
15:01Nate, you look at you as soft.
15:03Wow.
15:05That's very kind of you.
15:06I don't know if you heard that, Nate, but a nice compliment from the crowd.
15:08That's weird.
15:09That's weird.
15:13Nate, how do you feel about Mike Perry?
15:15What did he do to you?
15:20Nate, how do you feel about Mike Perry as an opponent?
15:22His skills, the challenges that he brings to the table.
15:25I know you guys have respect for each other.
15:26We saw you at a DBX event, talking to each other.
15:30It seemed like everything was good.
15:31How do you feel about what he brings to the table as a fighter?
15:35Yeah, I got a big task on my hands.
15:37He's been doing great outside, and he's doing the biggest and the best things out here.
15:42He's whooped the most asses, and I got a worthy opponent.
15:46And a big task ahead.
15:48I'm getting ready for one.
15:52Mike, good to see you again.
15:53I saw you like three hours ago.
15:55When I saw you three hours ago, you were not wearing that T-shirt, and so my eyesight isn't great.
16:00But I think that's Nick and Nate, right?
16:03Yeah, man.
16:04It's them.
16:05You know, a lot of young guys grew up watching UFC, seeing this guy, ultimate fighter.
16:11And now the chance to fight him, after everything I've proven, the king of violence, the bare-knuckle fighting, the
16:20true pain games.
16:21Like, I'm here for the blood sport.
16:23And, you know, it's tough with Rhonda and Gina being so professional, and then Nate doing it, too.
16:32And then, you know, we got to talk some shit.
16:36Hype it up, man.
16:37Me and Nate are going to be fucking bleeding all over the place.
16:41Hopefully more him than me.
16:45So that shirt is a sign of respect, right?
16:49Yeah.
16:50In a way, it's a sign of respect because we, so many of the fans appreciated that these guys showed
16:57a lot of us this way.
16:59And it's also, you know, kind of, depending on how it goes, you know, I'm kind of aiming it back
17:07at them.
17:09How do you feel about that shirt, Nate?
17:13It's a nice shirt.
17:16I agree, by the way.
17:17It's pretty damn cool.
17:18Francis, good to see you again, my friend.
17:21Good to see you.
17:22Yes.
17:23I saw that you laughed when Nate said, you know, these are the free fighters.
17:28That seemed to have resonated with you.
17:30Can you tell us why?
17:31Well, it's the reality.
17:33Can you count how many fighters out there are free and can be in this sport?
17:38We were just talking about it.
17:40I'm like, okay, this is the opportunity that so many fighters would have liked to have.
17:44But which of them would be able to, like, take it if it was given to them, you know, because
17:51maybe they are stuck in a contract that for most they don't like.
17:56They are not fair treated.
17:58So, just enjoy the ride.
18:00Enjoy the position that we are at.
18:04Your challenge on May 16th is a very interesting one because every one of these fighters up until you, you
18:10know, they're Hall of Fame fighters, household names and whatnot.
18:14Philippe is almost like, you know, the mystery opponent, if you will.
18:16He may not have the resume or the accolades that they do, but very, very tough, like I said, was
18:20on a winning streak when he left the UFC, PFL tournament champion.
18:23Do you feel like he's the one that could sneak up on you?
18:26Like, you really have to pay attention to this guy because maybe not everyone's talking about him and they all
18:31say, oh, yeah, you're going to roll right through him.
18:32But he presents a lot of challenges as well.
18:35Of course, he represents a lot of challenge.
18:37I think we did a lot of mistake thinking of fighter as a household name.
18:44You know, it's not about household name.
18:48There was a day that I was in a household name and I was still a dangerous fighter for any
18:52of my opponents.
18:53And then maybe they looked down to me because I wasn't a household name.
18:58And then the punishment for that didn't come straight away.
19:05So, I don't want to do the same mistake.
19:08I know he's, I think we are talking in the guy that he's more in the position to come after
19:16me than I'm in the position to go after him.
19:18So, he's basically like won my place, what I have.
19:23So, and I'm not willing to let him get that, you know.
19:27So, he's a, he's kind of like a tricky thing, you know.
19:30People on the mind, the motivation, the purpose that someone will have to fight, the reason why somebody will fight.
19:40And then just think of the name.
19:41Name doesn't fight.
19:42People fight, at least fight.
19:44And I'm sure like he's been in the gym, training, even before this fight.
19:50He was training every day.
19:51So, yeah, I better be ready before find out about that household name.
19:58Very well said.
19:59Philippe, you had a chance to be around Francis last month in L.A., press conference, photo shoot the next
20:05day.
20:06It's a big guy.
20:07What type of read did you get on him?
20:09What type of vibe did you get from him?
20:11Yeah.
20:12It was a very good energy to face off Francis.
20:17He's a MMA giant.
20:19I respect him.
20:20But first of all, be in New York, Manhattan, Times Square.
20:27Bring me great memories in 2018.
20:32I become a heavyweight champion here.
20:34So, it's amazing to be here again.
20:37And my next fight is going to be the most important fight of my MMA career.
20:45It's going to be the big Jets opportunity to have in my hands to be the best version of myself
20:52every day, every training session, every week.
20:59I understand better what I need to do to beat Francis Danny Garno.
21:04All respect to him.
21:06You need a gun.
21:12And I'm excited, bro.
21:14I can't wait to be there.
21:16May 16, live on Netflix.
21:20Do my job.
21:23Show my talent again for everybody.
21:25I'm putting a show for everybody around the world.
21:30Obrigado.
21:31Obrigado.
21:32All right.
21:32I want to get the media involved as well.
21:34So, there's a microphone right in the middle over here.
21:36You can line up.
21:37And I know you got questions for all six of these fighters.
21:40So, please do line up.
21:41Let us know your name and where you are from as well.
21:45Ike Feldman, Daily Mail.
21:47I want to start with Nate and then go to Mike.
21:49Nate, appreciate you very much.
21:52Just heard the excellent interview on Theo Vaughn with Chris Avila.
21:55Excellent stuff.
21:57Skill-wise, where do you feel and what areas that you're better than Mr. Platinum Mike Perry?
22:03I think I'm better than everybody everywhere.
22:06I can wrestle a little more, but that's cool.
22:10Rub the mic, bro.
22:12And Mike, since you fought in MMA, you've been just excelling in the boxing world, bare-knuckle boxing world.
22:20Do you believe that you possess the power to stop the unstoppable?
22:26Yeah, I believe I'm going to hit Nate like he's never been hit before.
22:30I understand that he's very experienced.
22:32But I believe the way the momentum is rolling, the youth I have on my side, the speed and power
22:40I have, and the energy.
22:44So, you know, I'm looking to hit him harder than he's ever been hit, give him something he's never felt.
22:49And I think I'm better than everybody everywhere, too.
22:53So, let's go.
22:56Appreciate you guys.
22:58Thank you very much.
22:59All right.
23:00Next up.
23:02This is Katia Vega for Revival.
23:04My question is for Nate and Mike Perry.
23:07First for Nate.
23:08Mike tries to think chaos, but you have paid your career living in it.
23:13So, who actually owns that space when the things get ugly in the cage?
23:20Let me understand the question.
23:23So, you're both known for knocking people out?
23:25Yeah.
23:27When things get, you know, tense and tight and in close quarters, who has the greater advantage as far as
23:32the knockout game is concerned?
23:34Hopefully, I got that right.
23:35Yes.
23:36Yeah, he hits hard.
23:37He's got a lot of good knockouts.
23:44Better kill me.
23:47My question for Mike.
23:49Nate fought for the BMF.
23:51You became the king of violence.
23:53So, who's the real one?
23:56I mean, May 16th.
23:58We're going to co-lab him.
24:00And I'm going to, one of us is going to walk away with both.
24:03I'm going to walk away with both.
24:05I'm the real BMF fighter.
24:07So, people called it.
24:08When this fight got signed, they were excited to see the fight that they didn't get.
24:13And now they're getting it.
24:14And I'm going to be all over this motherfucker like white on rice.
24:19I can't wait to.
24:22What was that?
24:24No, I said I can't wait to see them.
24:25Yes.
24:26I think we all agree.
24:27By the way, the BMF title, you know, came from you.
24:31You remember when you fought Anthony Pettis, the king of violence.
24:34Is there another title, perhaps, on the line here between you two?
24:39RNS.
24:42What does that stand for?
24:47Real shit, bro.
24:49Real shit.
24:50All right.
24:52New belt on the line.
24:53Put it on the marquee.
24:54Go ahead.
24:55Brian Mahoney, Associated Press.
24:56You didn't know that?
24:57No, I did not.
25:00Gina and Rhonda, since this has been announced, have you run into anyone?
25:04Or people saying, you know, I didn't think I'd ever see you fight again.
25:08That was particularly, you know, sort of meaningful to you that, you know, I'm glad they're interested in that.
25:14I'm actually doing this again because, you know, they might have missed me the first time or they just never
25:18thought they'd have a chance again.
25:21I think I needed everybody to give up on me fighting again for me to know I was coming back
25:26to fight just for me.
25:28And I think that fighting became about everybody else.
25:31And that's what started to steal my joy from it.
25:35In my last two fights, I just didn't want to be there.
25:39And Gina is the one person that ignited that fire in me again to want to be there.
25:44And now I know it's just for me because everybody gave up on it.
25:56Can you repeat the question?
25:58Yeah.
25:59Yeah.
25:59I was just listening.
26:01You know, have you run into anyone who's kind of said, this is so cool, I didn't think I'd ever
26:06see you fight again that was interesting to you?
26:08I mean, basically everyone.
26:11I think that just coming from the last couple of years were a bit tough.
26:17And to have my family look at me and say, you look healthy again.
26:21And, you know, and my mom was like, you know, are you going to do this?
26:27And you have to make a decision, yes or no.
26:30And if you do it, you do it 100%.
26:32And, you know, before I don't think a lot of people like to see me fight.
26:37But I think that, you know, I've never felt more close to God than I am fighting.
26:42And I've never felt so myself because all of the impurities and all of the bullshit goes away.
26:49And you really, like, have yourself in there to face your opponent.
26:55And so I missed this feeling.
26:59And I think the people that care about me know how precious this is to get back to myself after
27:06losing myself for so long.
27:10Wanda, I do want to ask you, you know, when the seeds for this fight started to get planted back
27:15in 2024, she's told that story.
27:17You have told it as well.
27:18Well, and I hope you don't mind me saying this.
27:19Gina was in a much different health place, right?
27:23Say that.
27:24Are you impressed with how far she's come and, dare I say, how great she looks a month out?
27:29I mean, you look absolutely incredible.
27:31And I'm trying to make it not look like I'm checking you out.
27:34I'm sizing you up, okay?
27:35I swear.
27:36Same.
27:37My gosh.
27:39But I think, yeah, when I saw where she was at, I was nine months pregnant and about to burst.
27:46And I think you're, you know, I said before, you lose your bodily identity at certain points in your life.
27:51And I saw that we were in a similar spot to be able to...
27:55I just wasn't pregnant.
27:57That's a heavy weight.
27:59We were going through it.
28:01And I had a friend of mine tell me, I think I'm a mutual friend now, that he asked me,
28:09what's the best way to train for a marathon?
28:12He said that's to sign up for a marathon.
28:15Amen.
28:15Yeah, and so I think we both needed this, we needed this goal, and I think it's the exact perfect
28:24time that needed to happen.
28:25I'm glad it didn't work out before, because before it would have just been something to us, but now this
28:31means something to the entire industry.
28:33And I wouldn't have pushed myself to the place I'm at right now without having said yes to this fight.
28:40And so the depths in my soul and my body, I mean, I wouldn't have pushed it this hard unless
28:47I had this insane opponent gunning for me.
28:51And so your Instagram videos really are inspiring.
28:57I'm like, okay, I'm purposely not putting anything out there, because I don't want to get you anything to look
29:02at.
29:03I'm trying to flood the zone, so you don't know what to prepare for.
29:06But you're welcome, everybody.
29:06She looks that hot because of me, so don't forget.
29:11And by the way, thanks for unblocking me on Instagram, speaking of Instagram.
29:14Earlier today, breaking news, everyone.
29:15Yeah, I unblocked him.
29:17Finally, two years later, or maybe even more, five.
29:20Go ahead, sir.
29:22Karan Bhatia, congratulations to everyone up here.
29:25Ariel, congrats for being unblocked.
29:27That's great, man.
29:29Question for Rhonda Rousey.
29:31Rhonda, you're obviously, you and Gina are such pioneers in the sport,
29:35and this huge platform now on Netflix.
29:39Before this, we had the press conference for Alicia Bumgarner versus Bomi Rae Shin.
29:43They're going to be headlining on ESPN for the launch of MVPW.
29:47So I'm just curious, your thoughts of women's fighting, where it is now,
29:51and how much more is there to evolve in women's fighting, and your thoughts overall?
29:55Well, I think it's getting to a point where it's not a novelty to have women headlining events becoming commonplace.
30:03And hopefully, it's so common that it doesn't even deserve a mention.
30:08And I think the ultimate goal is for women to have the same views
30:16and bring in the same revenue as the men and to be able to be compensated the same as them
30:22as well.
30:26And thank you.
30:27One question for Francis Ngannou.
30:29Francis, we know that you've also stepped into the boxing ring.
30:32You had success against Tyson Fury, knocking him down.
30:35Tyson recently fought on Netflix and won.
30:38Do you ever hope to have that rematch with Tyson Fury?
30:41And if so, how do you feel like the rematch would play out?
30:44Well, I've been hoping for that rematch for a long time.
30:49It's not happening.
30:50And if ever it's happened, I'll be ready.
30:52That's all what I can say.
30:55You're welcome.
30:57Go ahead, sir.
31:01Marcos Paz, AB Boxing News.
31:03My first question is for Nate Diaz.
31:05Nate, Mike's made it very clear that it's going to be a bloodbath type of fight.
31:10Can you talk to us and explain why he's the perfect dance partner, if at all, for that type of
31:14fight?
31:15That's the first question.
31:16And then my second question is going to be for Ronda and for Gina.
31:21Yeah, I think he calls for a good fight.
31:23He tries to finish, tries to take people out.
31:28And I do the same.
31:33I think that's what you get with that fight.
31:39This is for Ronda and for Gina as well.
31:42You both have stated that this time around you guys are doing it for yourselves.
31:46It seems like a story of redemption, if Ronda could go first.
31:50And the second question, oh, the second part of the question is, what does fighting on MVP and Netflix do
31:58for both of your careers in comparison to the past experiences you guys have had in your careers?
32:04I think that fighting for MVP and on Netflix, it makes this fight bigger than us.
32:13And it's a game changer for the entire industry.
32:17And I think that this is going to, everything's going to be different for all of the fighters after this.
32:24This is an experiment that Netflix is undertaking.
32:28And I think that we're going to outperform every single expectation on this card.
32:34And I think that UFC is going to have somebody have to bid against in the future.
32:40And the fighters are actually going to have some bargaining power.
32:44And this is part of us taking our power back.
32:49There you go.
32:50And the second part is the same thing for Gina as well.
32:53Just repeat it for me.
32:55Oh, okay.
32:55Yeah.
32:57It's a story of redemption, so to speak, because you guys are saying you guys are doing it for yourselves
33:01now, not for everybody else.
33:02And the second part of the question was, what does fighting on MVP and Netflix do for your careers in
33:08comparison to the past?
33:09I mean, as far as redemption, sitting up here with, I mean, I became more of a fan of fighters
33:17than I became after I gave up fighting.
33:21Like five years ago, I was like, okay, I'll probably never fight again.
33:23And so I got really into, you know, watching the fights and getting all giddy and like getting actually nervous
33:29around fighters more than like actors I've been across.
33:33And so I became a genuine fan.
33:35And so for me to be able to sit up here with, you know, these incredible fighters is huge, but
33:44also to face that in myself and kind of round out my story in MMA as well.
33:51A lot of people only know me as an actor.
33:53And then they find out I'm a fighter and I, you know, Rhonda's been so gracious to reintroduce me to
34:02the world.
34:03And people are like looking at my fights, not like, oh, she fought.
34:07So it's really cool to have that recognized.
34:11So that's very cool.
34:12And I think that you're going to see the best of me.
34:16I really feel you're going to see the best version of me.
34:21Let me ask Rhonda to see quick follow-ups if I could.
34:23You were asked about the women's boxing event happening on Friday.
34:27To his credit, every time I heard Nikisa Bedarian talk about that, he would always give credit to you long
34:32before any of this was ever in the works.
34:34And I know you guys worked together back in the old UFC days.
34:37Did you notice that?
34:38And is that part of the reason why you felt like this was the right move for you to team
34:42up with him and Jake Paul?
34:44I mean, it wasn't just because he was saying nice things about me.
34:47No, I think it was actually because of the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight.
34:52And I saw that Mike Tyson had something still that everybody misses, even at 60.
35:02And they put on the most viewed combat sports event of all time.
35:07And I knew that me and Gina bring something to the table that people miss.
35:15And it would be a huge success.
35:17It wouldn't be, you know, nostalgia bait or a cash grab.
35:20It's something that has, a vacuum has been left.
35:26And I think we need to remind all of the women and everybody in the sport to not just be
35:32comfortable with their place.
35:34And you need to demand your space and demand your opportunities and try.
