00:00Let's check in now with Rochelle for more in tonight's weather forecast.
00:05Thank you, Disha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. Let's get right to your weather.
00:10Let's take a look at tonight. Tonight will give us mostly fair and hazy conditions,
00:14despite a few partly cloudy spells with isolated showers.
00:17And we have minimum temperatures at 24 degrees in Trinidad and 25 in Tobago.
00:22And those fair skies will continue tomorrow.
00:25According to the Met Office, expect generally fair but hazy and breezy conditions with a few cloudy periods at times.
00:33There's a chance of isolated showers over a few areas, so it will be a good idea to have those
00:39umbrellas close by.
00:40Maximum temperatures will come in at 31 degrees in Trinidad and 30 degrees in Tobago.
00:46And Saharan dust will be sticking with us today, tomorrow and for the next couple of days at a moderate
00:53concentration.
00:53So protecting yourself is important, so make sure to wear your face masks if you're going outdoors.
01:00Now before you go making those end-of-week plans, hear what you will need to keep in mind.
01:05Conditions aren't looking too bright with Friday giving us generally dull, cloudy and hazy skies.
01:11But a few isolated showers spells with daytime temperatures of 31 degrees in Trinidad and 30 degrees in Tobago.
01:19But Saturday will be slightly better with fair-to-party cloudy and slightly hazy conditions with a few isolated showers.
01:27There's a low chance of the odd thunderstorm favoring Trinidad during the afternoon.
01:33So if you had plans to be outside, you might either need a change of plans or include your umbrellas
01:38in it.
01:39Maximum temperatures are expected at 32 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
01:44Looking at our sun times now in Trinidad, sun rises at 554 and 551 in Tobago.
01:50And sunset at 617 in Trinidad and 614 in Tobago.
01:55And our seas will be moderate with waves 2 meters to 2.5 meters in open waters
02:00and near 1 meter, occasionally choppy, in sheltered areas.
02:04It's now time for your Thai times.
02:16With Saharan dust being a topic of discussion all week, here's a fun fact about the Sahara Desert.
02:23Now, did you know that snow can occasionally fall in the Sahara Desert?
02:28Well, that's because deserts are defined by dryness, not constant heat.
02:34During winter, temperatures, especially at night or in higher areas, can drop below freezing.
02:39And cold air from Europe can move into North Africa.
02:43If enough moisture is present at the same time, precipitation can fall as snow instead of rain.
02:49These events are rare and short-lived, often melting quickly.
02:54But they do happen.
02:56Well, now you know.
02:57Well, that's all for weather tonight.
03:00Saharan is up next with all the excitement in sports.
03:04Excitement indeed to come in sport.
