00:00Why Microelectronics Microelectronics will end the career of the future?
00:06The countries highly industrialized, like USA, Japan, a large part of Europe and even China,
00:12recognize the semiconductor industry and microelectronics as one of the fundamental pillars
00:17in its leadership in technology, which is associated with the economic growth and political control
00:22of the world.
00:23It is true that these countries make billions of dollars to maintain its advantage
00:28with respect to other countries in the world.
00:31The industry of microelectronics can be divided in the fabrication of semiconductors
00:35and the design of the circuit.
00:36In relation to the first one, they seek process of miniaturization,
00:39reduction of energy consumption and, eventualmente, mayores velocidades.
00:43This means large investments in factories and research processes
00:46and development that are not currently at the level of Colombia.
00:49But the industry of design, which can be associated with new products,
00:53rights of author, and innovative products of a country,
00:56which can generate very high income income,
00:59they don't require great investment.
