00:02New testimony is putting a spotlight on what Camp Mystic leaders knew before the floods that killed 27 campers and
00:10counselors last year in the Texas Hill Country.
00:13The camp director, Edward Eastland, testified Monday as part of an ongoing court fight over lawsuits from victims' families and
00:21whether parts of the camp must be preserved as evidence.
00:23He told the court he did not see multiple flood warnings issued in the days leading up to the July
00:294th disaster.
00:30According to the AP, Eastland said there were no meetings with staff about the incoming weather threat before the storm
00:37and torrential flooding hit.
00:39He said he never saw a flash flood warning sent overnight and slept through another alert on his phone.
00:45Attorneys for the families pushed back in court pointing to warnings from the National Weather Service in the days before
00:51the floods.
00:51Eastland also confirmed the camp has already taken deposits from more than 800 families to return this summer.
00:58That's according to CBS in Austin.
01:00The hearing is expected to continue through the week.
01:03Camp operators are trying to reopen part of the property later this summer, even as the legal fight continues.
