00:12Saludos, my name is José Eduardo Santana, I am a quadrista puertorriqueño and this is what you see here is
00:18the National Instrument of Puerto Rico, the IV.
00:21You saw it in the Super Bowl 60.
00:24The IV, puertorriqueño, is our national instrument that has been a lot of years, being part of the folklore music
00:32of Puerto Rico.
00:34In recent years, several artists have been using popular music, urban music.
00:40You have heard it famously in themes like Pegate, Ricky Martin, Despacito, Lifonsi.
00:47And recently, with Bad Bunny and Pitorro de Coco, what happened to Hawaii.
00:53So, this instrument is mostly made of puertorriqueños.
01:00We use, obviously, amplification systems that are used in guitars.
01:04In this case, I have a fishman, a preamp fishman, which has microphone and undersaddle.
01:13And this is what helps.
01:14This IV is of approximately 2,5", or 2", more or less.
01:20It works for the big tariff and avoid the feedback.
01:25These 4, right?
01:27These are made by artists.
01:30More or less, the prices will vary depending on the wood that use.
01:36The artesanía.
01:39And, more or less, you can get 4 cheap.
01:42For the rents of a lot, maybe over 400, 500, 700 dollars.
01:46To four more, a little more high in price.
01:51Ya, we say, 2,000, 2,500, 3,000, 1,500, more or less.
01:56But, this is our national instrument and I am grateful for having a world accept.
02:02And, well, for all of you, the solo of Pitorro de Coco.
