China signalled openness to addressing its trade imbalance with Spain as both countries pledged closer ties.

00:00Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez says China has shown willingness to address an excessive trade deficit between the two countries.
00:08His remarks follow bilateral talks in which both sides agree to expand market access for Spanish agricultural products
00:16and strengthen Spain's transport and infrastructure capacity.
00:21Sanchez had earlier described the trade imbalance between the European Union and China as unsustainable
00:27and called for improved access for European exports.
00:31He urged Beijing to correct the deficit, which had grown by 18% the previous year,
00:36warning that the continued imbalance could trigger protectionist measures from European policymakers.
00:42During a separate meeting in Beijing, China and Spain agreed to deepen relations
00:47and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting global peace and long-term development.
00:52Chinese President Xi Jinping described the current international environment
00:56as increasingly unstable and warned that the existing global order is crumbling.
