President Donald Trump refused to apologize for criticizing Pope Leo over his remarks on the Iran war, saying he was “just responding” and that there was “nothing to apologize for.” He also defended posting an image of himself as a saint-like healer, which drew backlash from Evangelical leaders before it was taken down.
