00:00An analyst has downplayed LRT MP Hamza Zainuddin's new political movement,
00:06saying it would be nothing more than a reconfiguration of existing political alliances.
00:12Azmi Hassan of Akademi News Antara said there was nothing new about Hamza's movement in itself
00:18as it involves the same political actors in the opposition taking on the same rivals.
00:23Because of that, he said it may do little to woo voters even as Hamza eyes taking part in the
00:30Malacca state election.
00:31He said the development was more of an informal cooperation between Hamza's camp and PAS,
00:37aimed at taking on UMNO in Malacca, adding that Hamza had limited options for alliances.
00:43Hamza, who resigned as opposition leader over the weekend,
00:47had hinted at his reset political movement contesting in the next Malacca polls.
00:53After he was sacked from Bersatu on February 13th,
00:56Hamza launched his reset movement and had been in talks about leading a new party.
01:01However, he has since said he preferred joining an existing party over forming a new one.
