00:00Riggins is going to the line for two.
00:01Yeah, didn't take it square, as you're seeing.
00:04So two free throws for Riggins, and I've got to believe that the Heat,
00:08they've got to decide what they're going to do with Riggins, right?
00:10He's got a year left in his deal.
00:11Yeah, big deal.
00:17First point in Spolster's team.
00:20You know, the feeling here in Miami is that this Heat team has underachieved, right?
00:2610th place in these.
00:27They got a better record this year than they had last year.
00:29Yeah, that's pretty amazing, right?
00:32But they are in this play in Flaggmire, four straight years in the play.
00:37And they've made their way out to give Eric credit in the heat.
00:42You know, they went to the finals.
00:4570-53 Miami.
00:46Oh, damn it.
00:53On the bounce, Buddy Hill lays it in.
00:57Buddy Hill once again getting involved in an offensive end.
01:02For him, that's ten points.
01:05Next is 16.
01:06I'm sorry, I'm sorry, my fault.
01:15Gilbert Gibbs, Kisper lays it home.
01:19Rory's got 13.
01:21Hawks hanging in there, Nick.
01:22Well, again, every time Miami makes a little run, the Hawks come back
01:26and this chip away today is a steal right there.
01:28And a good anticipation.
01:30Gilbert Goke could not save it on the sideline.
01:33He read that pass perfectly.
01:35Let's go.
01:39Watch Gilbert on the right side of your screen right there.
01:45Just couldn't get to it in time.
01:46It's the hustle plays like this that get you minutes on the floor,
01:49get you seen.
01:50So, good hustle there.
01:53We've enjoyed having the two-way guys with us since the Skyhawks season ended.
01:58And, Nick, I wanted to ask you, you were talking about Asa Newell a little bit earlier.
02:02Hero is going to try to pass it, got it back.
02:05He's going to shoot it at the shot clock buzzer, and they're going to wave that one off.
02:09But I wanted to ask you, the G League development is so crucial.
02:14And for a guy like Asa Newell, I mean, he flat tore up the G League.
02:19What a great confidence builder for him.
02:20Yeah, he did.
02:20And, see, that should be a confidence builder for you coming back in the big leagues now
02:24because you play the way you know where your place is,
02:27is the G League is a wonderful teacher for these young guys coming to the league,
02:31especially guys who, as you see him score there,
02:34guys who come in after their first year and don't get a chance to play a lot of minutes.
02:38G League is a great thing.
02:4170-59.
02:43Final minute of the first half.
02:45Also come roaring back.
02:48Tyler, he was trying to put a fork in, he can't do it.
02:52Wiggins over Kispert.
02:55Rebound Reese's shit.
02:57Hawks down 11th.
03:00Buddy Heels, been red hot.
03:02Here comes Asa.
03:04He loads up for a big two-hander.
03:06Right over Adebayo.
03:08And that makes it an 8-0 Atlanta run.
03:1470-61.
03:1910 seconds on the shot clock.
03:23Wiggins races out to set the screen.
03:25Buddy takes Jaquez on a switch.
03:27Jaquez pump fakes.
03:30Short.
03:30Four seconds.
03:32Buddy.
03:33Drop mid-court at the buzzer.
03:36Oh, just off the mark.
03:39And halftime.
03:41Neat.
03:41How about this, Doug Baezaduul.
03:43Oh, man, I love it.
03:44You know, that's how you attack the rim.
03:46Go right at the big guy.
03:47It's no fear here.
03:48He takes one step.
03:50There's Adebayo going up.
03:51No, not tonight.
03:53And look at the reaction for the bet.
03:56Tremendous.
03:5870-61 Miami with the lead here at halftime.
04:03But the Hawks have come roaring back from an 18-point deficit.
04:06Closed the half on an 8-0 run.
04:10Halftime in Miami with our score.
04:13The Heat 70 and the Hawks 61.
04:16Lots of new faces out there for Atlanta today.
04:19And they're doing well.
04:20We'll come back with Matt and Brian.
04:22And they'll take you through halftime after this.
04:30We are back in Miami.
04:3170-61 Heat.
04:33And time for our all-access feature.
04:35Brought to you by Kaiser Permanente.
04:37What a way to go out with Mike Bray and Brian Oliver.
04:43Coach, for a team that struggled to score to begin in 37 points in the second quarter,
04:47you wanted to narrow the gap.
04:48What was the message they have?
04:50Well, Buddy and Corey have kind of set the tone for us.
04:54But isn't it neat to let some young guys play with nothing to lose?
04:59And we're running in the second quarter.
05:01That helped us.
05:02You were down by 18 at one time.
05:04You narrowed the gap.
05:05What would you like to see for this team to be able to pull out an opportunity for a win
05:09tonight?
05:10Can we get a few more stops so we don't have to take it out of bounds and run?
05:15Mike, appreciate you.
05:16Thank you, buddy.
05:17Bob.
05:19Okay, thank you, guys.
05:21Hawks shot 65% in that second quarter.
05:2615 of 23 made 6 of 9.
05:28And Buddy Heald had 13 of his 16 points in that second quarter.
05:33Well, Buddy Heald got on a heater and, you know, he had confidence level, went through the roof.
05:37And he just came out to let it fly.
05:39And right now, the Hawks are under 10.
05:41Very manageable game.
06:11Hawks will send out Asa Newell.
06:13And it's going to be Hero with the board.
06:23Hero swings it back to Adebayo.
06:25Mitchell will drive on Wallis.
06:28Bounce inside to Ware.
06:30Bradley defending.
06:33Good defense there.
06:37And again, you get where an uncomfortable position where he was not able to get that shot in the ball.
06:44Pete, what a hard time.
06:46He's usually reliable from that three-point lane.
06:49Here comes Tyler Hero connecting.
06:52Here comes Tyler Hero connecting.
06:55Here comes Tyler Hero connecting.
06:5673-61.
06:57Kispert off the screen by Newell.
07:00Oh, man, that's sweet.
07:02Yes.
07:03Boy, Kispert comes right out of that halftime.
07:07He'll smoke it hot.
07:09That's his third three.
07:14Hero on the lob.
07:16And that thing goes out of bounds.
07:19And they're going to stay touched by Bradley.
07:21Now they pointed the wrong way.
07:22And it will be Atlanta ball.
07:25Today, the Hawks are hanging right in this game.
07:28You know what, Dave?
07:28They're showing no fear.
07:29These guys on the floor playing hard.
07:31They're keeping themselves right there close.
07:34Have a chance to steal one.
07:39Wouldn't that be something?
07:40Oh, it'll be outstanding.
07:42There's Kispert again.
07:43Yeah, keep it coming, Corey.
07:45Yes.
07:46He's got 19.
07:52Hawks cut it back to six.
07:57Wiggins.
07:59Wiggins, nice move.
08:01Five and running hook shot there.
08:05Walnut's going in.
08:07And the contact.
08:09Foul on Miami.
08:10I think this is going to be on Mitchell.
08:15Corey Kispert getting it done.
08:17Oh, man, he is cooking right now.
08:20You know, we said, you know, guys like him, guys like Asa, has to play big tonight if they're going
08:26to have a chance to win.
08:29To the free throw line, Keaton Wallace.
08:34He's scored four so far in this one.
08:37He rattles home the free throw where he's at the line.
08:40He's a perfect five for five.
08:43Well, you think back over the season, the four steals he had at Sacramento early in the year.
08:50Played well against the Pacers in late October.
08:52He's scored 17 minutes at 11 points.
08:55Think about Keaton.
08:57No matter what point in the season you called on him, he was running.
09:00He's going to be ready.
09:0475-68.
09:16Three seconds on the clock.
09:18Wiggins misses.
09:19Good defense by the young guys from the Hawks.
09:23Reese of Shea moving in.
09:25Short tap to Bradley.
09:27Second shot here for Wallace, and it's off the mark.
09:32Hero runs it down and saves it to Anna Bayou.
09:36Ahead to Mitchell.
09:40Yes, he did.
09:42Yes, he did.
09:45And a little delay game coming up on Miami.
09:49I mean, he jumped up in there with, like, a little hop and a skip.
09:53That's the travel.
09:54The ball's still in your hand.
09:58For the heat, turnover at number six.
10:00Been a relatively low turnover game.
10:03Yeah.
10:03C.J. McCollum looks on.
10:11Reese of Shea, barrels in, spins, and this one drops in for him.
10:16Like I said, the Hawks right now are cooking.
10:19Cut this thing to five.
10:23Atta Bayou.
10:25Atta Bayou.
10:26Rocks.
10:27Misses.
10:28Can't jam in the follow.
10:29And Reese of Shea pulls it down.
10:32Here comes Wallace.
10:34Kispert keep it going.
10:36No, it was just a little long.
10:37Oh, you know, he gets a heat check in this quarter because he has been cooking.
10:41He didn't miss it by Butch.
10:43And the jam and a foul for Atta Bayou.
10:46Side-step Wallace made a nice move to the basket.
10:5319, and Atta Bayou going to the line.
10:56Kispert with a personal.
10:59Now, Keaton tried to take a charge, but Atta Bayou with a nice sidestep to get around him.
11:07Bam leads the Miami Heat.
11:09Free throw is attempted.
11:12A 20-10 player this season.
11:17But one thing that's noticeable about Bam's year is the low field goal percentage.
11:23He's at 44% this year.
11:27Well, he's taking a lot more shots than he's taken in the past.
11:30Yes, sir.
11:32Career low field goal percentage for a season.
11:35Asa Newell off the mark.
11:37Hawks had a chance to cut the pool.
11:40He rose to Mitchell.
11:43Prejected by Asa Newell.
11:47Hawks on the push.
11:48Asa tees up.
11:50Bradley in a quarter-three against Cleveland Friday night.
11:53Gives this one up to Risa Shea.
11:55Nearly poked away.
11:56Recovered.
12:00Keep inside.
12:01Bradley goes up and off.
12:03And the kind of shots you've got to make right there at the basket.
12:06As a big guy, go up and finish that.
12:09Atta Bayou against Kispert.
12:11Hawks double.
12:12Bam gets it back.
12:21Mitchell.
12:23And Danielle Mitchell camping out in that left corner.
12:26Locks down to three.
12:32Bradley screens.
12:33Brisa Shea.
12:34Gives it to him on the roll.
12:35Nice spin move.
12:37Right around the wheel where.
12:39Got caught him standing still.
12:4380-72.
12:44Bam backing down on Newell.
12:47Spins.
12:47Good recovery by Asa.
12:52Tyler again gets up in the air.
12:54He didn't get a call there.
12:55Misses the shot.
12:56Newell the rebound.
13:00He navigates the Miami traffic.
13:02Hands it over.
13:03Risa Shea.
13:06Mitchell coming up on Tispert.
13:10Corey looking to drive and kick.
13:12Bradley sideline three.
13:14No.
13:15Rebound.
13:15Knocked out by Risa Shea.
13:17Going to be Miami ball.
13:206.49 to play in the third.
13:25And Miami with that will take a timeout.
13:28Heat 80.
13:30Hawks 72 on the final night of the regular season.
13:35Heat by eight here in the third quarter.
13:38And I'm with Nikhil Alexander Walker who's enjoying some courtside baseline seats just sort of hanging here on game 82.
13:45Normally I know you don't like to not play but this seems like a pretty good deal all in on.
13:50Yeah you know it's a great opportunity for these guys to get rhythm as well and all the work that
13:57they put in for them to have the opportunity to like test it you know go out there and as
14:04much as they support me and the guys who are in the rotation like it's a great opportunity for us
14:09to return the favor.
14:10Obviously the Hawks signed you for a reason but I think they are surprised maybe the rest of the league
14:16is a little surprised by the season you've had.
14:19To what extent are you surprised by what you've done.
14:22Honestly I just think.
14:26It was it was it was it was just the work and the opportunity and trusting coming together like I
14:31don't really feel surprised like if you were to tell me in the summer that this was the year I
14:37think I would be more surprised at how fast it happened.
14:41You know I knew what I was capable of and I always believed in myself and I just thought like
14:45with with time I'll continue to get better and have the opportunity to show that.
14:49And so the organization has been amazing and allowed me to do so it feels like you're now the leader
14:55for most improved player will find out when the ballots come out how much do you want to win that.
15:00I mean it's a goal it was a goal to start the year and I would love to win that
15:04you know anytime you get to take home something and and that's like a nod to the hard work that
15:09I put in and to the organization to everybody who's been in my circle and through what I've been through
15:15throughout my career.
15:17That's also is another reason why it's one thing to increase your production with more minutes and more opportunity it's
15:25another to do so more efficiently what is it been about the extra opportunity that's allowed you to be more
15:32efficient if that's the way it worked.
15:34I think I just stopped looking over my shoulder and kind of going into that.
15:38I mean one thing I've learned is like I'm blessed with the luxury now you know you miss your first
15:45three shots you miss your first four shots.
15:47You can get a rhythm get to the free throw line find a way and then next you know you
15:50make your next seven.
15:52In my time and my role when I was in Minnesota that wasn't the case you know you might get
15:56five for the game so you got to be as efficient as you can with those five and with the
16:03addition of CJ and his capabilities and the demand and the usage that he brings to the team.
16:08I just had to learn also how to do more with less.
16:12And that's kind of that same thing that carried over in Minnesota is just now that I have so much
16:17time and now that I have the ability and the ball in my hand to get a feel for the
16:21game even if it starts off rocky and I can play through it.
16:24Congratulations on the season you've had we look forward to seeing what you and your guys can come up with
16:29in your first round series.
16:31Enjoy the day.
16:31Well thank you.
16:32You know Bob Nikhil couldn't have said it better.
16:35When you get a chance to catch a rhythm and not have to look over your shoulder and just play
16:41basketball man that makes life a little bit easier for you.
16:45And so he's absolutely right.
16:49He can come out now even though if it starts out rocky and just play the game and not have
16:53to look at his sword and be worried about if I'm coming out of the game.
16:56So I'm not surprised that he's doing what he's doing.
16:59But one of the things that we both know, what we feel that he is the most improved guy in
17:05the NBA.
17:06Who's more improved?
17:08Name me a guy who's done what he's doing from where he came from.
17:11Nobody's made the quantum leap like Nikhil has.
17:14Nobody.
17:15Nobody has.
17:17And look, the numbers bear it out, Nick.
17:20I mean every category.
17:22And I just wanted to add about the playing of the game for the Hawks.
17:27He's got a head coach that backs him to the hilt.
17:32Does not care if he started game 1 0 for 7.
17:36He wants him to take those same seven shots in game 2.
17:39But you know what's even more impressive about that?
17:42If you have a rocky start, one thing you know you're going to get from him is defense on the
17:47other end.
17:47So a lot of the defense makes up for a lot of miscues on offense.
17:51So they trust him.
17:52He got a great coach in Quinn Snyder who believes in his talent.
17:55And he is playing unbelievable basketball.
17:59Bradley Coloco's pass rather sails over the outstretched hands of Ray J. Dennis.
18:06How about Corey Kisper?
18:07I know it.
18:08I was on my hand to comment on what he's doing.
18:127 of 12 from the floor.
18:1421 points and 24 minutes.
18:16Huge.
18:18He's got five three-pointers.
18:20He and Buddy Heald have combined for 9 of 15 on 3.
18:25He's leaving the door open in this game.
18:27Yeah, you know, the Hawks keep coming.
18:30They're not letting up.
18:34Wallace needs some help.
18:35Finds it.
18:36Ace of Newell.
18:37That's very aggressive.
18:38Corner 3.
18:39Coloco.
18:40Rebound to Tiahiro.
18:44Hawks down 11.
18:46Under 4 to play in the third.
18:50Ware for 3.
18:51That's good.
18:52Oh, man.
18:53He's knocked down three threes tonight so far.
18:55Well, they've been open shots.
18:5811 for Ware.
19:03Kispert.
19:03Time to bounce it inside.
19:05The Keaton Wallace turnover Atlanta.
19:10Corner 3 for Tyler.
19:12Yeah, too much time to shoot back.
19:1791-77 Miami.
19:23Newell and Ray J. Dennis, teammates at College Park this season.
19:27Baseline.
19:28Coloco back up top.
19:30Dennis for 3.
19:31No.
19:32Rebound.
19:33Snatched away by Kispert.
19:36Corey gets out of the lane.
19:37Keaton fires a 3.
19:39That's no good.
19:41The Hawks are working, though.
19:42They're fighting.
19:43Hawks overall, 11 of 32 on 3s.
19:46All the damage being done, basically, by Buddy and Corey.
19:51Hawks.
19:52Man, you don't mind him taking that shot.
19:54He does most of his damage inside the paint.
20:03Asa kicking it back.
20:06Ray J. Coloco.
20:09Not Coloco.
20:10It was.
20:12Offensive ball.
20:13Offensive ball.
20:13Second on Christian.
20:14Stops the game at 2.27 in the third.
20:202017, Christian Coloco had literally outgrown soccer and was starting to get serious about basketball back in his native Cameroon.
20:29That's when he was selected to participate in a Basketball Without Borders event in South Africa, featuring a bunch of
20:35active and former players, including C.J. McCollum, who posed for that photo with a 17-year-old Coloco.
20:43Actually, playing in the NBA wasn't even on Coloco's radar for him then, but being chosen for the event gave
20:49him belief in himself as a player.
20:51Basketball took him to the United States for high school ball, three years at Arizona, and somehow now the camper
20:58and counselor are NBA teammates.
21:01Something Coloco told me that kid in the photo could never have imagined.
21:06How wild is that, guys?
21:08It really is, man.
21:10And then you watch Coloco come through his Toronto experience, and he's lucky that he's even playing professional basketball today
21:18because he had a blood clot issue.
21:21In Toronto, just a couple of years ago, and he's overcome that.
21:25He's healthy now, and how about that?
21:28Teammates with C.J. in Atlanta.
21:30I'm really glad to see something like I recovered from something so serious.
21:36Norman Powell is back in the ballgame.
21:38Left elbow, jump shot for two.
21:40Picks up where he left off.
21:42He was really damning to the Hawks in that first half.
21:45But the Heat are going to need him against Charlotte.
21:48Oh, boy.
21:48Yes, they are.
21:50Ninety-three seventy-seven.
21:53Charlotte's always playing great basketball this year.
21:56That game looking like it's going to be in North Carolina.
21:59Risa Shea with 11.
22:02Hornets winning their game against the Knicks at the Garden.
22:06We'll update you on the scores.
22:09We'll know the seeding before we leave the year.
22:11Feel certain.
22:12Here is Jaquez, and he bangs it another one.
22:16Again, that's where he's dangerous.
22:18He can score in the paint.
22:19He likes to post up.
22:20He likes contact.
22:22If you keep him on the perimeter, you've done your job with him.
22:26Ninety-five-seventy-nine, Miami.
22:30Coloco to the corner.
22:32Buddy Heal, wrap around, Reese Shea, top side, Dennis.
22:37He cans a three.
22:38Oh, beautiful shot, beautiful passing here by the Hawks.
22:42And you see, even with the third unit guys out there, the scheme remains the same.
22:47Move the ball.
22:47Everybody touches it.
22:51Banned.
22:53You know, strong touch gets it to go.
22:56Oh, yeah.
22:57Ninety-seven-82.
23:05Ray J. Going back to work this time from the inside.
23:09All right, this is just punching on the floor again.
23:11Playing hard.
23:17From the seat of his pants, Bam finds Hawkins.
23:25Bam takes the three.
23:28And rebound, Yaka Jonas.
23:37Powell.
23:39Hawkins.
23:40He'll lay it in, and it ain't won.
23:4616 for Hawkins.
23:49The leading NBA bench scorer this year.
23:52You know, Jaime is an outstanding player.
23:55But I have to wonder, after watching what happened last Sunday,
24:00is he better than his sister?
24:03Gabriela with UCLA winning the Women's National Championship last weekend.
24:07And until you win a championship over your sister, she's better.
24:13He probably would agree with it.
24:14And, of course, Jaime left the team on an off day to fly to Phoenix last Sunday
24:20to watch his sister.
24:21They both played at UCLA for us.
24:23And the message that he had for his sister was, get the job done.
24:28Now, he went to the Final Four with UCLA.
24:31And you know the team that knocked him out?
24:32Corey Kispert and Gonzaga.
24:3599-84.
24:36The three on the way at the end of the quarter is no good.
24:40And the Heat lead it by 15 here at the end of three.
24:46We have one quarter of basketball remaining here in Miami.
24:55The fast break is presented by Kaiser Permanente,
24:58official health plan of the Atlanta Hawks.
25:01Cheers, you all.
25:02We really do.
25:03Hanging in there with us every night.
25:05It means so much.
25:0799-84, Miami, leading Atlanta as we get set for the fourth quarter.
25:11And I tell you what, Nick, you know, for a game with not much at stake
25:17for these teams in terms of, you know,
25:20they know they're going to go to the postseason just wear and win.
25:22Right.
25:23This has been a pretty entertaining game.
25:24It's been a really hard-fought game.
25:27The guys that had a chance to play for the Hawks
25:30has come out and played hard against Miami starting five.
25:34So they're really showing that, hey, they can get some things done.
25:41Howell hits it over to Hawkins.
25:44On the bounce, Leigh at Johnson.
25:47Now Hawkins has done it all tonight.
25:54101-84.
25:59Runner by Keaton.
26:01Dyes on the rim.
26:03Aso had it knocked out of his hands,
26:05and he was the last to touch, so the ball belongs to Miami.
26:11We have no official word yet when the playoffs will start.
26:16We know we'll be in either Cleveland or New York for games one and two,
26:20and then games three and four in Atlanta.
26:23That will all be coming out this evening.
26:26Now we'll know who we're playing more than likely before we leave the air,
26:29but we don't know whether the Hawks will play Saturday or Sunday in Cleveland.
26:35We're getting some preliminary vibes that we may open in Cleveland on Saturday.
26:42That's what we're hearing at this hour.
26:44Here's a lay-in by Hawkins.
26:48Nine straight Miami points, and that forces Quinn Snyder to take a timeout.
26:54Yeah, they pretty much broke this thing open, Miami.
26:5910-52 remaining.
27:02This is what's on the line in our Toyota Trends.
27:06A Hawk loss, and we're trailing, as you know, here, 106-84.
27:11A win by Orlando and a loss by Toronto means a fifth-place finish,
27:16but the Celtics have just gone ahead by four against Orlando.
27:22So if the Hawks lose, Orlando loses, and Toronto's winning over Brooklyn,
27:28and that means it'll be the Hawks and the Knicks.
27:31Oh, there's a lot of drama for this final quarter here in Miami.
27:36And we could not, Nick, we could not leave the air
27:39without having our man Brian Oliver join us here in the booth in this fourth quarter.
27:44He's meant so much to our broadcast this year,
27:47filling in for you and, of course, doing great work with Matt on the pre and post.
27:51Brian, what a finish to this Hawks season.
27:54It has.
27:55Now, you know what, Nick, when he said drama,
27:57I thought he was going to say, speaking of drama,
27:58we had to bring in Brian Oliver.
28:00Yeah, right.
28:01But I got to tell you, Brian, I got to tell you, man,
28:03you've done a fabulous job in my absence, man.
28:06I really appreciate you being there for me.
28:09And I know the whole team appreciates you as well.
28:11But I got to ask you something about Orlando.
28:15Right.
28:16That team puzzles me.
28:19Well, because, you know, they have a lot of talent on that team,
28:24but they hadn't been able to put it together consistently.
28:27To be losing against Boston when they got all their starters out,
28:30this is a pretty big game for them.
28:33Here's what I'm going to tell you, Zan,
28:34and you've seen this with their Orlando team,
28:36as you see another bucket score by Miami,
28:40is that Paolo Bancaro?
28:41I think that he's a ball stopper.
28:43And as of late, the way he's been playing,
28:46he's got most of his points off the free throw line.
28:49And for me, I actually think that they're a better team
28:51with Franz Wagner.
28:53And you're going to have to split those two up
28:54because I don't think they can coexist.
28:56But there's only certain guys that you can get the ball
28:58and be a playmaker, a power forward slash guard, right?
29:03Jalen Johnson is one of those guys because the ball moves.
29:06But you can't have a big guy where the ball sticks a lot
29:08because, again, the game slows down
29:10and you put yourself in a position
29:12where the offensive is real tough.
29:15Well, Nick, you understand this, too,
29:16that that Boston team,
29:17if you see Miami Harkas put another bucket,
29:20that Boston team,
29:21that's a team that stays true to their identity.
29:24Even though you got the majority of their guys out,
29:27I mean, Shireman is a good dude
29:29that's going to go out and give you big buckets.
29:31Luka Garza, he has been a dude for them
29:33that has stepped up.
29:34I didn't know if you could be a really prominent big man
29:37in this league,
29:38but he's found his niche out there with the Celtics.
29:39But that's his game.
29:40You know, he's not a guy
29:41who's going to play on the perimeter
29:43consistent now.
29:44Can he knock down the three?
29:45Yes, but he is really good inside.
29:49Guys, I got news for you.
29:50It is 83-76 Boston
29:53with 2.45 to go in the third period.
29:57Now, a Boston win
29:59as Heald lays it home
30:01and Miami takes a timeout.
30:03A Boston win changes everything.
30:07Yeah, because that opens the door for Philadelphia.
30:10It opens the door for Toronto
30:12and it opens the door for the Hawks
30:14to finish sixth.
30:16Four on that.
30:16Timeout Miami.
30:178.27 to play.
30:19115-94.
30:22Georgia drives Chevy.
30:24Visit your local Chevy dealer.
30:26Buy racetracks.
30:28And buy Xfinity.
30:30Imagine the NBA all in one place made easy.
30:34Imagine that.
30:36Back in Miami.
30:38115-94.
30:40Take a look at our Georgia lottery.
30:42Hitting the jackpot.
30:44As you take a look at Asa Newell,
30:47it's 115-94 Miami with 8.27 to go.
30:50And Asa Newell
30:53is in the ballgame here at the end.
30:55And look at the marked improvement.
30:56A six-win improvement
30:59in terms of the one-loss record.
31:01It has been an incredible
31:02post-All-Star break run by these Hawks.
31:06Buddy Heald at the top.
31:09He fires and hits.
31:10Buddy Heald is cooking.
31:12Man, he came in and what?
31:14For a dude that's just been hanging out,
31:16he decided he was going for his tonight.
31:18I mean, it's been huge for him
31:20and the points that he's put up.
31:21One, two, six.
31:22And it's knocked down six threes
31:24and eight attempts.
31:27Buddy Heald having a season best.
31:31Better than anything he had
31:32at Golden State for years.
31:34And he's going to go right
31:35to the cup again.
31:36Hey, he giving himself a chance.
31:38Hey, listen, man.
31:39Hey, feed him and fan him.
31:41Ice that elbow in the end of the game.
31:43He's definitely going to have to ice down.
31:44He had a shot that many shots
31:45in probably three months.
31:57Powell at the floor.
31:59Three on the shot clock.
32:02Bradley the rebound.
32:03Ahead to Keaton Wallace
32:05has come to the end here
32:06in the final seven minutes
32:07of the regular season.
32:09We got...
32:11That was another one!
32:13What was that?
32:14That was a double-check.
32:16That's a second he check-in tonight.
32:1931 points.
32:20He's got seven threes
32:22and he scored the last nine Atlanta points.
32:25Hawkins.
32:27You know Buddy being a character,
32:29he is.
32:30I'm sure after this game,
32:31he's going to go and tell Quinn.
32:33Imagine how many more wins
32:34you would have had
32:34if you let me run.
32:35Let me run.
32:36Give me some runs, coach.
32:37Hey, Buddy Heald's career high
32:39is 42.
32:41And I'm wondering
32:42if that might be
32:43in a little bit of jeopardy here.
32:45Buddy's going to let it go!
32:46Oh, he just missed it.
32:47That's another heat check.
32:48I'm going to give him
32:49three for tonight.
32:51Hey, that monkey's
32:52starting to get on his back
32:53as he's running back.
32:53You don't want Heald's high.
32:55Power!
32:57Hey, but you're going to see...
32:58Look at the sprint
32:59on the other end, though.
33:00But I got to tell you
33:01that the last shot he took,
33:02that was under duress
33:03because he had to get the shot up.
33:05Feet set.
33:06Too long.
33:07That one when he was facing.
33:08Oh, and Bradley's pass.
33:10He was fouled
33:12on the pass.
33:13Buddy talking.
33:14He's over there talking
33:15to the heat crowd.
33:16Yeah, yeah.
33:17Lobbying for a foul.
33:18He got 11 three-point attempts
33:20tonight in 20 minutes.
33:22Oh, my.
33:23Hey, he said he was going
33:24to give himself a chance.
33:25Oh, he gave it.
33:26Yeah, no doubt.
33:27Our prime fast pre-delivery.
33:29Buddy healed.
33:30Thirty-one and seven threes.
33:33But in 19 minutes, Nick.
33:35Yeah.
33:38Cooking with gas
33:39on the front burner.
33:40Go, Buddy.
33:41That's a two.
33:42That popped out.
33:43You know what?
33:45He might be running out
33:46of a little gas
33:47in his last three shots here.
33:54Norman Powell has it.
33:57It's a little wear.
34:00And fouls it in.
34:02124-101.
34:04I am absolutely stunned
34:07by the Celtics.
34:08Oh, I'm not surprised.
34:09I'm not.
34:09I'm not either.
34:10Neither am I.
34:11This Mavericks team
34:13has underperformed
34:13as of I know
34:14that they came into this game
34:15winning four in a row.
34:17But the level of inconsistency
34:18that they've played with
34:19is why you find them
34:21in the position
34:21that they're in right now.
34:22Well, we're going to update
34:24the scores here
34:25in just a second.
34:27I mean, you have got
34:29to have got to have a steal.
34:30He has a double-double
34:31at the end of three quarters.
34:33Twenty and ten.
34:36Mason Newell
34:37strips the cords.
34:39I like the fact
34:40that you see timeout
34:41by the Heat.
34:42How this team
34:42that the Quinn has put
34:43on the floor
34:44has been able to continue
34:45to fight throughout
34:46the entire game.
34:49124 to 106.
34:52Let's take a look
34:52at this sweet three
34:53from Asa.
34:56Yes.
34:57Knocks it down.
34:5915 and seven
35:00for Asa North.
35:02Well, guys,
35:03welcome back to the booth.
35:04We just wanted to show you
35:05Brian has joined us here
35:08and let him have a chance
35:09to say his goodbyes.
35:10What a great year.
35:11It's been an amazing year.
35:12And to all the Hawks fans,
35:14thank you for the support
35:15because it's been
35:16a rollercoaster ride.
35:17And I think for this team,
35:18we talked about
35:19that one of the hottest teams
35:20in the league
35:21since the All-Star break.
35:23It's been great for me
35:24working with you two guys
35:26and also all of our men
35:28and women
35:28in the production group.
35:30A little bittersweet
35:31because you guys
35:33welcomed me in
35:33five years ago
35:34as a fan.
35:36And, you know,
35:37hopefully things will change,
35:38but I'm super excited
35:39for this Hawks team
35:40and the fact that
35:41after this five years,
35:42we finally get out
35:42of the play-in,
35:43get into the play-off,
35:45and again,
35:46whichever team it is,
35:47the Knicks or the Cavs,
35:48I'm so happy
35:49for our Atlanta Hawks fans
35:51to be able to host
35:52an opportunity
35:53to be able to play,
35:54you know,
35:54this year
35:55in State Farm Arena.
35:57No doubt.
35:58No doubt.
35:58It's amazing
35:59what the atmosphere
36:01is going to be like
36:02at State Farm
36:03when we finally get
36:03that playoff game
36:04three and four
36:05in the next week or so.
36:07You know what,
36:09it's a party.
36:10Yeah,
36:11but you know,
36:11it's the Knicks,
36:12right?
36:13It's going to be pandemonium.
36:14It's going to be pandemonium.
36:15It really is.
36:15And again,
36:16it makes for a great matchup
36:18for a first round of playoffs,
36:19so any way you look at it,
36:21it's going to be
36:22an exciting time.
36:23And neither one of those,
36:24neither the Cavs
36:25or the Hawks
36:26or the Knicks,
36:27they want to see
36:28this Hawks team
36:29as well as their players.
36:29I don't think anybody
36:30want to see the Hawks
36:31right now
36:31the way they're playing.
36:33Corner three for Johnson.
36:35We just showed you the scores.
36:37The stunner,
36:37of course,
36:38is Orlando.
36:41And we've got
36:42our little grid here
36:43to try to piece it all together.
36:45If Boston wins
36:46and the Heat wins,
36:49Charlotte wins,
36:50kind of narrows it down
36:52a little bit.
36:53And we should,
36:54Philadelphia.
36:56Yeah,
36:57this is,
36:58this is our little,
36:59so you can see this,
37:01this is the Eastern Conference
37:02today,
37:03okay?
37:04This is all the East.
37:05And Bob worked on that
37:06all night last night.
37:08Isn't it pretty?
37:09Yeah,
37:09you know what,
37:09and all you viewers
37:10who are looking at this sheet
37:11get you some magnifying glasses
37:13because I know you can't see anything
37:15next to it.
37:18But anyway,
37:20but what it does,
37:21it just kind of gives you
37:22all the different scenarios
37:24at a glance.
37:26And as we watch
37:28Howley run in,
37:30if the
37:30Boston and Miami
37:32win,
37:33and we saw
37:34Charlotte winning,
37:35so that kind of reduces
37:37it a little bit more
37:38if
37:39Toronto wins,
37:41excuse me,
37:43yes,
37:43if Toronto wins
37:44and Philadelphia wins,
37:47then the Hawks
37:49are going to play
37:49the Knicks.
37:50And
37:51that's crazy.
37:53So Toronto
37:54will get fifth,
37:54Atlanta sixth,
37:55Philadelphia seventh,
37:57Orlando would drop
37:58all the way to eighth.
37:59Bob,
38:00that says a lot
38:00about the Hawks
38:01and the fact that
38:02they took care of business
38:03because
38:03how refreshing is it
38:06that you get down
38:06and you understand
38:07that
38:09independent of
38:10what this game is,
38:11you fall no further
38:12than sixth
38:13because can you imagine
38:14if we're still sitting here
38:16expecting some help
38:17from some other people
38:18that really doesn't help us
38:19and we fall back
38:19into the play-in.
38:21Crazy.
38:22Well,
38:22Brian,
38:23thanks for coming upstairs.
38:24We're going to send you down
38:25and get ready for postgame,
38:26but
38:26just wanted to give you
38:27a chance to say
38:28so long
38:29to the Hawks faithful.
38:30Well,
38:30I'm glad that you gave me
38:31an opportunity to
38:32because Neek was telling me
38:33thanks,
38:33but you're going to get
38:34my invoice for me filling
38:35because,
38:36you know,
38:36I'm going to need
38:36a new pair of shoes,
38:37a new suit.
38:39I got a lot of shoes on.
38:41It might be a little big,
38:42but I think you can fit
38:43a couple of pairs.
38:44And my wife has said
38:45that she's got a laundry list
38:46of some things too.
38:48Hey,
38:48look,
38:48anything you need
38:49the way you filled in
38:50for us this year,
38:52anything you want,
38:52you got it.
38:53You've heard that,
38:54America.
38:54You've heard it.
38:55You got it.
38:55Get to me after June,
38:57though.
39:01Thank you,
39:01B.O.
39:02All right,
39:02thanks,
39:02everyone.
39:03Good to see you,
39:03man.
39:04To the line,
39:04Keyshawn Gilbert.
39:05We're down to
39:06338 to play.
39:09Celtics are up by 12.
39:11That's early
39:12in the fourth quarter.
39:14That's amazing.
39:15I'm stunned by that.
39:17I mean,
39:18you know,
39:18Orlando's got
39:19everything to play for.
39:20You've got
39:21two-thirds of the Celtics
39:23sitting out.
39:24I don't know
39:25if Bain is hurt.
39:26He only played
39:27six minutes
39:28in this game.
39:29And Wendell Carter,
39:3020 minutes,
39:31I don't think
39:31he played
39:32in the second half.
39:34That's wild.
39:36So we may be
39:37going to New York.
39:38I thought I was
39:39all set to go to Cleveland.
39:40Yes, sir.
39:40That's what life
39:41is about, Peyton.
39:42Powell.
39:45A good hustle there.
39:48Powell lays it home.
39:51128 to 110.
39:53Norman Powell,
39:55big day off the bench
39:56with 25.
39:58Keaton lets it go
39:59and gets one to drop.
40:02He's been struggling
40:02with that three-pointer
40:03all afternoon.
40:04He was 0 for 7
40:05before that make.
40:08128, 113.
40:12Khalil Ware.
40:13He drills it.
40:14He's been shooting
40:15the ball well
