Transcript
00:17You look absolutely fabulous at Glasgow. I was a bit like you know I've had a wine so I was
00:24like
00:24Oh well quite right. You're Irish. Well I'm actually half Irish so I like that as a compliment. Okay good
00:28good so I'm Irish too. Oh love it you look sensational. Olivia Awards we're here celebrating all things theatre why
00:34is it important? Well you know I've done musicals I've been in Moulin Rouge I have my musical Taboo which
00:42I'm rewriting with one of the nominees tonight Jack Colden so I'm here to support Jack we're working on the
00:48new version of Taboo together which is really exciting and he's nominated for quite a few awards tonight for Ken
00:54Rex so I'm here really for Jack you know and I'm really excited I hope he wins because I make
01:00it more difficult to work with but I just you know it'd be a lovely kick for what we're doing
01:05as well you know. And how special is it that we've got an event that celebrates like theatre? Exactly but
01:10I feel like I think there's a lot of people in the world that celebrate theatre every day even without
01:15being on stage you know what I mean I feel there's a lot of us that kind of go out
01:19there and try to be as entertaining as possible. I think the thing now is not to be disappointing.
01:24You could be in a hurry but you can't be disappointing. Well on that note I'll let you get in
01:28because you are in a hurry but you're never disappointing. Thank you so much.
01:36Nice to see you's congratulations. Thank you so much. I mean how special does it feel to be here and
01:40to be celebrated? Oh it's wonderful and to be together. Yeah it's been amazing yeah and yeah we're just the
01:46show's done so well and we're so happy to sort of see it sort of get its recognition here today
01:50as well.
01:51How much fun have you two been having doing the show? I mean it's just endless isn't it? Yeah yeah.
01:55It's endless fun. It's sort of like we're six months into the run almost now and we just it's still
02:00a joy to come in. I hate to tell you including the menu we've been doing it for almost a
02:04year. Yeah well yes included yeah yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And we still love it.
02:08And it's still so much fun and we're just the cast are amazing it's such a joy to go into
02:11work every day it's brilliant. Where do you get your energy from because I've seen the show and I don't
02:15know how you do it.
02:16It's just the doing of it we're blessed to do it you never take it for granted it's such fun
02:21I adore him I adore the show and a load of electrolytes.
02:27It's not joking. Yeah.
02:29Well on that note do you have any P-show rituals?
02:32I'm quite OCD in my sort of ways so I've got a whole routine before the show yeah and even
02:38like I'm not in the first ten minutes of the show so I'm backstage doing little things that I always
02:42do just to sort of make sure the show goes well that night.
02:46The big thing we do is we run the first 20 minutes of the show which is just the two
02:50of us and we just run that every single night fast.
02:53We're supposed to go either into my dressing room or his it's always in his he likes to take his
02:58time I'm always ready I'm whizzing in there doing my hair.
03:03I know this is quite a big question but what's your favourite thing about performing and being in theatre?
03:09It's the people for me I love like the people you meet every job you do and like just sharing
03:14that on stage every night and also even the people you meet in the audience and stuff you know people
03:18who love going to the theatre it's it the theatre people are the best kind of people.
03:23Yeah I echo that it's just theatre's a very magical thing and to be in it and to do it
03:28we're very lucky.
03:30And just finally do you remember the first piece of theatre you ever saw?
03:34The first theatre piece I saw in London was Grease at the Dominion and I was a huge fan of
03:39the movie and my mum and dad took me and my sister to see it and I remember it was
03:45a surprise so we walked up the stairs outside the Dominion and out from the tube and I just saw
03:49Grease and I was like wow Grease and they were like we're going to see that and I just remember
03:52there was like a mega mix at the end and I just thought those people look like they're having the
03:56best time and that's what I want to do.
03:58I love that.
04:00First theatre I saw in London was Barnum at the Palladium with Michael Crawford it was absolutely amazing and funnily
04:06enough I was doing a little interview like this when I did Hello Dolly last year and I didn't realise
04:10when I turned round and there was the poster for it it was amazing.
04:13That's incredible.
04:21Thank you how are you for Gatsby so do you it's very Gatsby this outfit isn't it?
04:27Yes yeah you know if I'm going to my Gatsby party in New York City this is what I'm dressed
04:30up in.
04:31Well the wind is blowing though so hopefully it will blow up.
04:32It is I know it makes sure I continue to hold up.
04:35Listen this is so exciting we're here at Olivier Wards massive celebration of all things theatre what's your favourite thing
04:42about theatre?
04:42Oh my god what what's not to love about theatre I love theatre people the theatre community is is some
04:50of the most vulnerable and also connected and supportive group of people I you know it's it's a it's a
05:00bunch of weirdos and it doesn't matter what you are who you are where you come from it's a very
05:07accepting beautiful place.
05:08So how does it feel to be here today celebrating all of that?
05:11I truly cannot believe so my first time at the Olivier's was last year I was presenting for Best Supporting
05:19Actor in a Musical and now I am nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical.
05:24I truly could not be more overwhelmed to feel so welcomed into the West End Theatre community.
05:33Well it's so well deserved good luck tonight.
05:35Keep your hat on.
05:36Thank you will do.
05:37Thank you so much.
05:38All the best.
05:38Nice to see you.
05:45Here she is Lady Janbury let me just do my bows.
05:49You look sensational.
05:50How are you?
05:50You look great you always look great.
05:51Oh no you always look great this silver I love a silver dress as well.
05:54We've gone for the bobbles.
05:55Um I don't know if mine will still be on by the end of the night though.
05:59Well you know.
06:00You know.
06:00But listen we're here at Olivier Awards on the green carpet.
06:04How special is it to be here?
06:07I love theatre.
06:08Theatre is when we all come together in one space.
06:11Our hearts all sync up because that's what human bodies do.
06:14And we get to go through a story together and I think it's a really precious thing.
06:19And you know we have the lockdown we understand what it's like when we don't have these moments where we
06:23can be together.
06:24And frankly anything that brings us together at the moment is a very good thing.
06:27So to be honouring theatre with these awards is fantastic.
06:31What's your favourite thing about theatre?
06:36If you fuck up you've got to dig yourself out of the things.
06:40That's my favourite thing.
06:41Why do you think then actors always flock back to the theatre?
06:45Because when we're in the theatre we're with other human beings and it's different every show.
06:49You might come in and do a show where it was pouring with rain.
06:52You and the audience are like, oh, entertain me.
06:56And it's like, okay we will.
06:57Or you know, I don't know, you might have fallen in love or your heart's broken.
07:01Or it's just, it's always different.
07:03But it's the same story but your energy is always different.
07:06And there's something really fascinating about that.
07:08And I love it.
07:09Do you have any pre-show rituals?
07:11I have so many pre-show rituals, how long you got?
07:14All day for you.
07:16But mainly get into the theatre in enough time so that you can eat, digest, do your exercises,
07:23do your warm up and do whatever else it is that you need to do to be ready to tell
07:28the audience that story that they've come all this way to see.
07:31And finally, do you remember the first piece of theatre that you saw?
07:34Yes, it was Dursley Operatic and Dramatic Society's production of Brigadoon.
07:41Brigadoon, what a belter!
07:43And my friend's mum was playing one of the characters in it and she lived two doors down.
07:48So I just thought it was marvellous.
07:50I love that.
07:50Well, it's always a pleasure to see you.
07:52You look absolutely sensational.
07:53Have the best time today.
07:54Thank you so much.
07:55Lovely to see you.
08:06Hello.
08:09How are you both with these outfits planned?
08:12We rang each other and said.
08:14I follow in his footsteps in every respect.
08:16Is it green for the green carpet?
08:18It is, yeah.
08:18We could just lie down and people walk over us.
08:20It'd be like a cool thing to do.
08:22Indeed they would.
08:22How are you?
08:22Are you cold?
08:23I'm Scottish, Lenny.
08:25This is nothing.
08:26This is nothing.
08:26You could just be in a vest, couldn't you?
08:28Exactly.
08:29Literally like Ramsey Neds, but it's so good to see you.
08:31We're here at the Alawi Awards on the green carpet.
08:34How nice is it that we've got an evening that's celebrating all things later?
08:37It's lovely.
08:38We're very proud to be here because this lovely man adapted my book for stage and Daniel Bailey
08:44with the glorious dreadlocks over there, directed and helped us make it something that
08:49kids can really enjoy.
08:50And it was my first day at rehearsals with Arvind sitting there saying, a bit nervous, weren't
08:56you?
08:57And when I saw...
08:58We may have changed a few things, I said to him.
09:00We've changed a few things, but actually what I saw was a cast of six really enjoying themselves,
09:07doing parkour, running and rapping and singing, and it was just so glorious.
09:12And so to be here is a real honour.
09:14It's very, very nice to be included.
09:16And what's your favourite thing about theatre?
09:19I mean, I have to say, kids theatre is this revelation to me.
09:22It's like my first kids show, but to see four hundred five, six, seven year olds scream in
09:28joy.
09:28And it's the lifeblood of theatre.
09:30So I think, for me, the favourite thing is getting kids into it and getting kids into
09:33it early.
09:34My first ever, I don't know about you, but my first ever live show in a theatre was a
09:38pantomime.
09:39And it was with my mum's work.
09:41The factory took us all to see a show.
09:43But for our show, what was amazing was, it was a very, very diverse audience.
09:48So black kids, brown kids, white kids, all kinds of kids in the audience.
09:51And they roared their approval all the way through.
09:54So I just thought, OK, this is a thing now.
09:57This is it now.
09:57What this man did was write a book in which kids who look like us were the hero.
10:02Not the best friend, not the geeky sidekick, but the hero.
10:05And when you put that on stage and four hundred kids see themselves as a hero, something shifts.
10:09It's great.
10:10I've always wanted that.
10:11And to see it happen from something that originated was very moving.
10:17So thank you.
10:19No, no, thank you.
10:20Oh, my God.
10:22And just finally then, why is it so important that we keep championing theatre and supporting
10:26the arts?
10:27Well, because of this.
10:28I think if you can figure out inclusivity and creativity and a family show where the
10:34family can sit and watch something extraordinary happen where your kids might see themselves
10:37on stage, theatre is really, really important.
10:41We live in a time where community is falling apart, where we're polarised, where we can't
10:46agree about anything.
10:47And the theatre is a place where a thousand people come together and laugh together and
10:52cry together.
10:53And if we lose that, then we've lost the whole ball game.
10:56I agree.
10:56I agree.
10:56Listen, such an honour to see both.
10:57You both look outstanding, honestly.
10:59Thank you very much.
10:59We didn't lie on the carpet now.
11:01Yeah.
11:02See ya.
11:02See ya.
11:03See ya.
11:03Nice to see you.
11:04Bye.
11:15Listen, Paddington.
11:16I love that bear so much.
11:18I mean, we all do, right?
11:20How much of an honour has it been getting to put the bear on the stage?
11:24The biggest honour in the world.
11:26To be in charge and responsible for looking after this bear.
11:29It's just phenomenal.
11:32What's it been like for you?
11:33Because I saw you at the baptist, or saw Paddington at the baptist, but what's it like
11:36when you see people reacting the way that we do?
11:38It's insane.
11:40I mean, it feels really nice to see everyone sort of be vulnerable again, you know?
11:45And to really react.
11:46I don't know if I want to use the words, add children.
11:48I just feel like they just become vulnerable again and become really raw in themselves.
11:52And everyone's reactions when the Paddington reveal happens in the show is just so real
11:59and so heartwarming to see.
12:01What is it like in that suit?
12:03It's bearable.
12:06Barely bearable or very bearable?
12:07In-between bearable.
12:10Well, on that note, that was a belter.
12:12Thank you both so much.
12:14Lovely to see you.
12:24Hello, you two.
12:26Oh my goodness, you both look gorgeous.
12:28We're a little bit matching, aren't you?
12:29And you're actually matching as well?
12:30Was this planned or did it just kind of come together?
12:32Well, we're Paddington Blue, see?
12:34We're representing Paddington.
12:35You put a little heart.
12:36Yeah.
12:37What is it about that bear that we all just love?
12:40I don't know.
12:41Everybody loves that bear.
12:42That was part of the pressure of writing the musicals.
12:44Everybody loves him so much.
12:46But everyone loves him, but you had to do it right.
12:48You know what I mean?
12:48I think that's the pressure.
12:50It's actually doing him right and you have.
12:51We didn't want to be the people that messed it up.
12:53Yeah.
12:54Definitely not.
12:55Hopefully we didn't.
12:55But no, you absolutely didn't.
12:56Listen, we're here at the Olivia Awards on the green carpet.
12:59How special does it feel being here,
13:01knowing that we're celebrating all things theatre?
13:03Well, look, we met and grew up at theatre school.
13:05Theatre has been our entire lives.
13:07So I've been at theatre school since I was eight years old, full time.
13:10Are you still there now?
13:11I'm still there.
13:11Yeah, still studying.
13:14So it's just been musicals and the theatre have been such a huge part of our lives.
13:19And, you know, this is the night that celebrates all of that.
13:23So it's incredibly special.
13:24And to be nominated and for our show to be nominated so much,
13:27and everyone getting recognised for their amazing work is really special.
13:32What's your favourite thing about the theatre?
13:34Ah, just the fact that everyone is on this journey or this ride together.
13:39Like, for that two hours, nothing else exists other than what you are watching on stage.
13:45Whether you're on stage or watching,
13:47it's just such a gorgeous thing to take you out of your world and into something else.
13:51Yeah, and I think because it's different every night, you know,
13:54you're never going to get that same performance again,
13:56the same, share it with the same people again.
13:59You know, we're so used to consuming very quick content these days.
14:02And we, you know, with everything, the way everything's developed,
14:06there's something so special about seeing an authentic experience in the theatre,
14:11real people on stage giving amazing performances.
14:14That will never get old.
14:16And so, you know, that's what we're all here to celebrate tonight.
14:18And also because it's how you met.
14:20It's why we're here.
14:21Yeah, we wouldn't be together if it wasn't in the theatre.
14:23I love that so much.
14:25I actually didn't know that.
14:25I love that so much.
14:26Thank you so much.
14:27Thank you very much.
14:28Have the best time.
14:29See you later.
14:30Bye.
14:37Lovely to see you.
14:38Nice to see you too.
14:39Listen, we're here on the green carpet at the LLV Awards,
14:42celebrating all things theatre.
14:43Why is it important we have an event like this?
14:46To do exactly what you said, to celebrate theatre,
14:48to, you know, in these straightened times,
14:49to make sure that there's still this thriving art scene.
14:53And it's something that the UK can be really proud of.
14:55We've written, produced, performed plays on the greatest stages of the world.
15:00And yeah, it's just brilliant to be here amongst this talent.
15:02What's your favourite thing about the theatre?
15:05The warmth.
15:06Yeah.
15:06That's strong.
15:07The warmth, the snacks, but most importantly,
15:09a chance to sort of lose yourself really in another world,
15:12another time, another place,
15:14to sort of jump into somebody else's reality
15:15and be with those characters for a bit,
15:17so that you can sort of hang your life up on a,
15:19like a coat peg for a couple of hours and not have to think about it.
15:22It's magic for me.
15:24Well, on the note of warmth, it's getting a bit chilly,
15:26so get inside.
15:26I will do.
15:27I'll wait to see you.
15:37How are you?
15:39Oh my goodness, goddess.
15:41Oh, you're very sweet.
15:42Can we just take a minute?
15:44Hi, how are you?
15:45Good to see you.
15:46Sensational.
15:46Thanks so much.
15:47It's so good to see you.
15:48Nice to see you too.
15:50You're just amazing.
15:51You're very kind.
15:52How does anybody get to your level?
15:56Determination, a lot of hard work and some luck.
15:58Genuinely.
15:59You've been smashing it.
16:00I mean, how has this whole, like,
16:02moment been for you in theatre?
16:04Oh God, it's just been a beautiful opportunity
16:06to close this London chapter here,
16:08celebrating a year of amazing London theatre.
16:10I'm so blessed to be here and just so lucky.
16:13I feel so...
16:14I just feel rich.
16:15I feel rich.
16:16You are rich.
16:17Look at this dress.
16:18Yeah, this is not mine.
16:20Listen, what's your favourite thing about performing?
16:23I think the instant gratification of being in a room
16:26with an audience.
16:27It's really wonderful to be feeling something
16:30as a collective with everybody.
16:32It's really, really beautiful and you can just tell
16:34that you're having an effect,
16:35whether it be positive or negative,
16:36like people are feeling something.
16:38What are your pre-show rituals?
16:41Ooh, um...
16:43I don't really have crazy ones.
16:46I have to sing my...
16:47Ben Platt and I share this in common.
16:48We have to sing our hardest notes.
16:50All the scary bits we have to sing before we get on stage.
16:53So for Aveda in particular, it was always...
16:55I would sing a new Argentina,
16:57like the high bits of a new Argentina
16:58right before I went on.
16:59So I just knew that they were there.
17:00And that's just, for me, I'm very easygoing backstage.
17:04I'm not very precious.
17:05I don't need, like, getting into character time.
17:08We're acting.
17:09As Olivier said.
17:11Have you ever tried acting?
17:12So yeah.
17:13Oh my goodness, so nice to see you.
17:14Thank you so much.
17:14Nice to see you too.
17:15Have a good one.
17:16Bye.
17:32Hello.
17:33I don't have Derek with me today.
17:35Oh, that's a shame.
17:36I know, because I was like, you would recognise Derek.
17:39Maybe not me.
17:40I would.
17:40I recognise you.
17:41Of course I do.
17:41Oh, but hey, you're just saying that now.
17:43No, I'm not.
17:43Listen, I miss you guys.
17:45What are we talking about then?
17:47We're talking about the dragons, first of all.
17:49Oh, right, okay.
17:49I miss yous.
17:50I know it's summer, so it's approaching.
17:52Do you miss us as much as we miss you?
17:54Of course, obviously.
17:55Don't ask silly questions.
17:56Come on.
17:57Oh, you're always schooling me, honestly.
17:59There you go.
18:00There you go.
18:00But listen, we're here on the green carpet at the Olivia Awards.
18:02How nice is it to be here celebrating theatre?
18:04It's lovely.
18:05It's great.
18:06It's great to celebrate the show.
18:07It's great to celebrate my castmates, who are just fantastic and deserve all the accolades.
18:13It's a good excuse to get everybody back together as well, because as soon as the show ended,
18:16we all went our separate ways and did other things and went home.
18:19And so it's really good to get everyone back together.
18:21What's your favourite thing about theatre?
18:24The unpredictability of it, the danger of it, how it can be different every night.
18:30I'm so bored of the question.
18:32Do you not get like, is it not tedious that you do the same thing every night?
18:36It's like, sure, if you're doing the same thing every night, of course that gets boring.
18:40But good theatre is never like that.
18:42Well, I was never going to ask that, so...
18:44There we go.
18:45A pat on the back!
18:46I mean, this is boots on the ground journalism right now.
18:49What?
18:50Listen, tell me, do you have any pre-show rituals?
18:54Erm...
18:54Oh, God, yeah.
18:55I can't let you into them, though.
18:56Please.
18:57No, no, no.
18:57They're too exposing.
18:58Would you tell Derek?
18:59Of course I'd tell Derek, but he's not here.
19:00I know he's not, because there's no dragons, so he'd be disappointed.
19:04Are you going to bring him to the dragon?
19:05Of course I am.
19:06Do you think I'd leave him in the house?
19:08I would hope not.
19:09Listen, I did some night training recently, and I had Derek on my shoulder.
19:13So, I know I'm going to see you at the Dragon premiere, but at what point are you just going
19:17to cast me?
19:18Erm, look, if I work for the casting department, you'd be in a heartbeat, but unfortunately
19:22that's out of my favour.
19:23Oh, really?
19:23Would you actually let me in?
19:24Of course.
19:25Absolutely, yeah.
19:25Why wouldn't I?
19:26I don't know how much you can tell me.
19:27It's probably nothing, but what can we expect from the next season?
19:30Oh, I don't know.
19:31I mean, look, by the nature of the show, it's going to be massive.
19:35It's a lot bigger than previous seasons.
19:38Everyone keeps saying this.
19:39It's bigger.
19:40It really is though.
19:40It's bigger in terms of its scale and in terms of its sort of magnitude and the stakes
19:46are higher.
19:47Just shit is hitting the fan in a really exciting way.
19:50So yeah, we've got loads of things.
19:51Also, I think like every episode has one of those moments, at least one.
19:55What keeps you coming back to theatre?
19:57Because obviously you're off Riding Dragons and then you can go back into the theatre.
20:01Why do actors want to come home?
20:04Well, I mean, to some actors it's home and to some it's not.
20:06Some it's so alien and terrifying and I understand why.
20:11But for me, I feel like if I don't do theatre for a long time, I get quite stale and
20:16my choices
20:18become predictable and safer.
20:21And what theatre does for me is it sharpens me up and makes me a bit more experimental
20:26and braver as an actor.
20:28Amazing.
20:28Well, I can't wait to see you at the premiere.
20:31Derek will be there.
20:32Look forward to it.
20:32Thank you so much.
20:33Lovely to see you again.
20:34Take care.
20:34Bye.
20:39Hi, Sam.
20:40How are you?
20:41Nice to see you.
20:42Good to see you.
20:42Oh, good.
20:43I hope I didn't hurt you there.
20:44No, no.
20:44You're so good.
20:45There's a crystal on my wing there.
20:46Very Glaswegian punch.
20:47Big old sovereign.
20:48Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:48Every time I see you, I know it's annoying, but the hair envy just always hits me.
20:52Mate, I appreciate that.
20:54You're absolutely smashing it today.
20:56No, because the wind is winding.
20:57Yeah, I know, I know.
20:58The wind is a great actor.
20:59I'm feeling it now.
21:00It's doing its thing.
21:01But listen, we're here at the Alaves on the green carpet.
21:04How exciting is it to be here celebrating all things theatre?
21:06You know what?
21:07This is my first time at the Olivier's and I feel very much a guest in this world.
21:14I'm very happy to be here, but I understand that, you know, a lot of people have worked
21:20their whole lives to be somewhere like this and I'm just this new guy and I very much appreciate
21:25it, put it that way.
21:26New guy, not at all.
21:28You're an absolute sensational performer.
21:30Mate, I appreciate it.
21:30What's your favourite thing about the theatre?
21:32I think it's the analogue approach to it.
21:36I love recording my music on tape and it's very much like it's then and there.
21:41Mistakes and warts and all.
21:43And I love that about the theatre because it's the last bastion of seeing anything and
21:46being entertained and transported into a different world with no phone and no distraction.
21:51I guess the community around that is very robust around keeping that value.
21:58So, yeah, that's for me, it's like the most you can get close to a tape player in real life.
22:06Absolutely.
22:07Well, on that note, I need to let you get inside.
22:09You look amazing.
22:09The hair's perfect.
22:10You take care of yourself.
22:11It's good to see you.
22:12You too.
22:12You too.
22:12God bless, ma'am.
22:22Hello Roswell.
22:23I love this coat.
22:24Honestly, it's incredible to keep warm because it's one of those days...
22:27Yes, and I'm on stage, I can't get ill.
22:29No, exactly.
22:30Exactly.
22:30It's so amazing to see you.
22:31I've not seen your show yet but I've heard really amazing things.
22:34What is it like being back in the theatre?
22:37It's wonderful.
22:38I love being part of London's entertainment world, entertainment scene.
22:43The hours suit me.
22:45I love the interaction, the immediate interaction with an audience.
22:48We're telling a powerful story that people are responding to and feeling things about.
22:53I mean, I go to the theatre to feel.
22:55I want to feel.
22:56I want to be made to recognise something fundamentally human
22:59and I think that's what our play's offering.
23:01Do you have any pre-show rituals?
23:04Well, I warm up.
23:06I mean, I have a lot of talking to do in this show.
23:08So I do, I'm very diligent about that.
23:12Cups of chamomile tea, honey.
23:15I also use, I'm the creative director of an app called Luminate
23:19and it's a psychedelic meditation app
23:21and that is what resets my brain before every performance.
23:25I need this but tell me what's your favourite thing about theatre?
23:31Well, it's, as an actor you have, the story is entrusted to you.
23:37It's in your hands.
23:39So each night I go out there as if this story's never happened to me before
23:44and I let the events happen to me live in front of an audience
23:48and that's very, that's very special.
23:50And you've done so many amazing things on screen
23:53but why do you think it is that actors always want to return to the theatre?
23:57I don't know if they always do.
23:59I mean, I think some people can have wonderful careers and never go on stage
24:03but I think if it's, you know, the theatre is what first inspired me as a child.
24:09You know, I never dreamt I'd be in films.
24:11I mean, the theatre is what I knew.
24:12It was that, and I would see actors at the curtain call after shows I'd seen
24:16and I would feel something.
24:17I'd feel this, this thing that they'd done, that they'd given to the audience
24:21and I thought, I want to be there.
24:23I want to do that.
24:24Well, I'm going to download your app.
24:26Thank you so much.
24:26I look forward to seeing the show.
24:28Good luck.
24:28Thanks very much.
24:28That is great.
24:29Oh, well, well.
24:30Here she is.
24:31Oh, I've been so looking forward to seeing you.
24:33Hello.
24:34Hello darling, how are you?
24:35You know how much I love the show.
24:37What has it been like being on stage every night performing the Devil Wears Prada?
24:42We just finished our 604th performance.
24:46Yeah.
24:48So it's amazing.
24:50And it's so fantastic because we've got the film coming out as well.
24:53So we've got new audiences coming every week and the show's doing so well.
24:57And yeah, so I mean performing 604th shows.
25:00Yeah.
25:00It's gone by so fast as well.
25:02Yeah, and the audiences are always different.
25:05So we get a different vibe every time we know that that, you know, that the downbeat starts.
25:13So we're here for it.
25:15Yeah, yeah.
25:15I want a meeting of the Mirandas.
25:18I want you and Meryl on that red carpet.
25:22What's happening?
25:23Has there been any chatter yet?
25:24Yeah, I'll be there on the red carpet.
25:26I think it's in a couple of weeks or two.
25:28Yeah, we're supposed to be there.
25:29We'll be there.
25:29I'm so glad.
25:31I'm so glad.
25:31I don't know whether we'll get the picture, but we'll be there.
25:35I will speak to the people in charge and say the people demand it.
25:38Tell me, what is your favourite thing about theatre and performing in theatre?
25:44That it's live and it changes every night and it's a true ensemble company feel.
25:53By the time we start warming up together, it's like your family.
25:57It's like a village every time we step on stage.
26:00No two shows are the same.
26:01Every audience is different, every cast member.
26:04Sometimes you're on with an understudy, which gives you something else to play off.
26:07And it's just such a wonderful, organic process.
26:10I don't think that's something, that's the one thing that AI can't take over is live performance.
26:15I'd like to see AI try a Scottish accent as well.
26:19Would you just find the Lundies have any pre-show rituals?
26:23I always play music.
26:25And so like, for some reason, Salsa Saturday has been my thing for the past couple of months.
26:30But I like to get in the mood and play some music.
26:33I usually light a candle, but we're not allowed to anymore in the theatre.
26:37Mine's just lip trills.
26:38I make this awful, weird like...
26:41And my voice is there.
26:42It's there.
26:42And they do it all the time.
26:44He does.
26:46Listen, I adore you two.
26:47I cannot wait to see you at the theatre.
26:49I'm sure you saw Stevie speaking of...
26:51Oh yes, absolutely.
26:52Love it.
26:53Have the best night.
26:54You're both slaying the outfits as always.
26:56Thank you so much.
