00:00San Francisco, the Giants are in town to close out the series against the Orioles.
00:04Hauser's on the mound versus Povich.
00:06This line overnight, Craig, opened up around a minus 130 price.
00:08It's a little bit higher depending on where he's shopping.
00:11I see FanDuel minus 134, DraftKings minus 134, but a total, excuse me, 131.
00:15But a total, Craig, of eight and a half that's listed.
00:18If we take a look at the temperatures, still cool conditions, 65 degrees.
00:21But, Craig, a double-digit wind blowing out to left field.
00:25Let's get us started on the Giants and the Orioles today.
00:28Yeah, it could be some runs today in this game.
00:30You certainly don't have the Giants' number one starter or the Orioles' number one starter
00:35or their two or their three.
00:36So you do have an opportunity, I think, for some runs to be scored.
00:39But if there is going to be a common theme on this show,
00:42and this can change, Donnie, by the time we get to next week, absolutely,
00:45is I keep being asked, like, how do you assess the first couple of weeks
00:50of the Major League Baseball season?
00:51Donnie, it's very clear to me what's going on.
00:54And everybody's 500 or a little bit below or a little bit above.
00:58Okay, the Dodgers are not.
00:59But what I'm saying is that we have everyone sort of playing mediocre baseball
01:03at the start of the season.
01:04So it's really tough, I'm guessing, to handicap this
01:07because every team is 8-7 or 6-8 or 7-7 or 9-5, et cetera.
01:13So I think in games like today, you know, totals are really what I'm most interested in.
01:19And taking a look at this game in particular, when you have two pitchers who are on the back end,
01:24you know, you're looking at a potential over here.
01:26But the other part of this, as we cautioned last week, and I'll do the same thing again today,
01:30a lot of teams in baseball, Donnie, have not had a day off in a while.
01:35And so you're going to see some sitting of players coming into this Sunday as well.
01:39I don't have a strong opinion on the game itself today, but I do think some runs could be scored.
01:43Yeah, one of the interesting parts about Hauser last year, Craig, against left-handed batters,
01:47he faced 261 of those in a 181 ISO where it's just a little bit elevated
01:51and a 355 weighted on base percentage, which is elevated.
01:54That same characteristic, Craig, has traveled through so far to the early numbers of 2026.
01:59Hauser right-handed pitcher against lefties, a 250 ISO against and weighted on base percentage of 483,
02:04but also a very low K percentage.
02:06But when you look at that Baltimore Orioles offense so far, Craig, on the early season against righties,
02:10hasn't performed all that well.
02:12Gunnar Henderson has good power numbers.
02:13Taylor Ward's okay.
02:14Beavers average here.
02:15And O'Neal with a solid weighted on base percentage, but the rest of that lineup waiting for them to
02:19wake up.
02:20If we flip it over and take a look at Cade Povich, the lefty on the mound,
02:23only 13 batters he's faced here from the right-hand side, Craig.
02:25He's done very well.
02:26No, a zero, I should say, ISO power number and a 175 weighted on base percentage.
02:31However, the lineup for the Giants has been decent, Craig, so far this year against left-handed pitching.
02:36Chapman, Devers, Schmidt, Encarnacion has only had four or five at-bats here against left-handed pitching.
02:41He has done well.
02:42But maybe we do see an under in this game because you're right about this.
02:45Some players are going to set and also get away games here.
02:48Don't love this game, but you do have that double-digit win blown at the left, though.
02:52And the Giants, we could say after a really slow start to the season, are definitely playing much better at
02:58this point.
02:59So there was, you know, some panic, I guess, early on.
03:02Is it the manager? Are there issues here?
03:04You know, this is where you've got to be careful and say to yourself, it's a long season.
03:08Now, look, when Giants fans look at their record and they see 6-9 through 15 games,
03:12it's obviously disappointing, and this could change in a hurry one way or the other.
03:16Baltimore, over the course of the season, probably going to be the better team.
03:19But we'll see what happens this afternoon to Camden Yards.
