00:00The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry clarified a viral video involving a diesel pump at a petrol station
00:07on Jalan Sagambut in Kuala Lumpur, saying the matter has been resolved with a full refund made to the customer.
00:13Deputy Minister Fuzia Sales said an investigation found that the pump ran out of diesel while refueling, but the meter
00:20continued to function even after the supply was depleted.
00:23He added that the petrol station was not equipped with a full volume detection system or an automatic cutoff feature
00:30and instead relied on manual dipping checks.
00:33The actual diesel dispensed totaled 232 ringgits 7 cent and the station fully refunded the customer on April 9th with
00:40the customer's agreement.
00:41Fuzia said technical inspections showed all pumps were within valid calibration periods, and tests using a 20-liter measuring device
00:49were within permitted limits, while licenses under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 were valid and active.
00:56She said the station received a stern warning describing the incident as an isolated case that does not reflect the
01:02overall fuel supply system, which remains stable and under control.
01:07She also urged the public not to speculate or circulate unverified information.
