00:00You still have a couple of guys a game away, you know,
00:05and I got to tell you online, I, I occasionally get a little confused.
00:09I'm like, what am I missing?
00:12I saw some people say like, oh,
00:14Wemby doesn't need to play in the final game of the regular season for
00:17awards. I have Wemby at 64 games. Did I miss something?
00:22I'm not sure. Right. Maybe I did, but I don't think I did.
00:26And I know Nicole Jokic is at 64 games.
00:29However, the Nuggets coach Adelman did not definitively say Jokic will play
00:38in the regular season finale.
00:42It doesn't seem to be as if maybe even Jokic would play a full set of minutes in
00:48the regular season finale. And I have to tell you, Jay,
00:52why I couldn't for the life of me understand why that would be true.
00:59I understand sometimes like there's a bit of a Jokic gimmick.
01:02Does he care? But I mean,
01:05Jokic has played every single game to have two left on the schedule,
01:10needing to play one to be eligible for all NBA.
01:16Then I can't,
01:18it's very hard to imagine Jokic doesn't play in the finale coach.
01:21Unless this is some like sacrificial lamb.
01:25The rule is so bad. Let's make a statement thing.
01:29I I'm really struggling with this one.
01:31Yeah, I really am as well. I mean, I don't know if it's, you know,
01:35I remember last year when I think it was Mikel Bridges to keep his streak alive,
01:39like literally like started the game, committed a foul, went to the bench.
01:44Absolutely. There it is. So, so you may see some,
01:48some funny business in regards to just doing that.
01:52And I think Kevin, I'm going to say this.
01:54If that happens,
01:56watch us get into the integrity of the rule kind of thing.
02:01Now, do you have to play a certain amount of minutes?
02:03Are you going to count that game?
02:06How do you just put, if you do it,
02:08do you just say stick Jokic to the court and just say, don't get hurt.
02:10Just stand right there.
02:12You're going to play the first 12 minutes of the game.
02:14And then we put you to the bench.
02:16So that's the whole big thing about this award,
02:18where the NBA is trying to encourage integrity in regards to players
02:23participating.
02:24But now we get to the end of the season and guys need one game to qualify.
02:28And you are right. I just double checked.
02:30Unless NBA.com is wrong.
02:31I just look, Kevin, when he's at 64 games.
02:35So unless we miss something, he's got to play tomorrow as well.
02:39No, but Joey, I am glad.
02:40Like, I got to say, there are multiple,
02:43like real NBA people who seem to keep being like, yeah,
02:48like when we played against the Mavs on Friday in order to get to his 65th
02:53game. Like I, I, I don't get it.
02:57I really do not understand why people keep saying that.
03:00Like, Hey, listen, coach and I are incredibly honest with you always.
03:04Right. And I'm not scared to say, Hey, maybe there's something I don't know,
03:08but I don't think that's the case right now.
03:12And, you know, somewhat, and I, I hate to say this, but like, I wonder if the league
03:17is going to back into Jokic versus Wemby on that Sunday, because the rules require those
03:24two to be out there, but let's actually attack that game from a different air.
03:28So I'm glad we're starting here coach because, and maybe we'll get into the rule itself and
03:34different things in a second. But in my opinion, you have one of the biggest regular season games
03:42in recent memory setting up for Sunday because the three best teams in the West are the Thunder,
03:51the Spurs and the Nuggets. And we know OKC is the one, and we know San Antonio is the two.
04:00We don't know if Denver will be the three, despite an 11 game win streak.
04:05If they did lose to San Antonio on Sunday, all the Lakers would need to do is beat the Jazz.
04:16Hey, now. OK. Yeah. Right. OK. OK. And Denver falls to the four. Now, now.
04:24Now, if you're Denver, would you rather be the three playing Minnesota, a somewhat injured ball
04:35club and avoid Oklahoma City in round two playing a young San Antonio team? I think you would.
04:45If you're San Antonio, though, J.Y., would you rather beat Denver, send them down to the four line
04:54and get yourself in round two, the winner of Lakers, Minnesota, instead of Jokic and the Nuggets?
05:03I think even more so than Denver.
