00:00:53to solve this case as the bodies continue to pile up, with no end in sight.
00:01:05You're alive!
00:01:09Sorry there, Dawes.
00:01:12And you are?
00:01:14Eileen. Over on the hog back.
00:01:20With the sheep.
00:01:21Guilty.
00:01:24Man, I bet your house smells.
00:01:27How can I help you, Eileen?
00:01:29Your son.
00:01:31Flint?
00:01:33He called.
00:01:35He's asking about you. He wants to make sure you're okay.
00:01:39So he called you.
00:01:43You okay?
00:01:46Better than most.
00:01:50So we hardly hear from you, Dawes.
00:01:54And with the rain, I mean, you seen the road?
00:01:56Give me a hint.
00:01:57Hardly looks like it so.
00:01:58Coyotes are back.
00:01:59Should roll some chicken wire.
00:02:00Yeah, I got some in the .
00:02:02Yeah, we're gonna run it along the fence.
00:02:09That fence?
00:02:10Yeah, there's a hole in it.
00:02:13It's gonna take a couple hours.
00:02:15Ah, it won't be that bad.
00:02:17That's a good acre.
00:02:18You should get yourself one of those agritronics machines.
00:02:21Wait, how's that?
00:02:23My brother, over in Quayle.
00:02:25He's got that new Gen 10.
00:02:27Government's subsidizing him.
00:02:29Let's off sonic smells and sounds and .
00:02:32That cows don't go near him.
00:02:35You mind if I smoke?
00:02:37Anywhere but in the house?
00:02:39But we ain't in the house.
00:02:43No, we're not.
00:02:44You up here by your lonesome?
00:02:46Boxer! Get off of her!
00:02:49Must get lonely, huh?
00:02:53I'm sorry.
00:02:55Why are you here?
00:02:58Told you.
00:03:02So, Flint called you.
00:03:05Right out of the blue.
00:03:07Reckon he likes me.
00:03:10Ain't that just the world these days.
00:03:13Everybody's worried about everybody else's worries.
00:03:19Want a beer?
00:03:21Thought you'd never ask.
00:03:24Finish your smoke.
00:03:30What?
00:03:52I already told you, there's nothing left to say.
00:03:55I'm not coming down to the courthouse.
00:03:57It's a hundred miles from here.
00:03:58That's not you.
00:04:08No, I don't care about the caddy.
00:04:10That was your car.
00:04:12I always thought the color was...
00:04:16What I want is for you to move that goddamn RV.
00:04:23No, not Monday.
00:04:25I need it out of there today.
00:04:26Walking the North Trail.
00:04:51Because some of us still give a goddamn about this.
00:04:55Move that RV.
00:04:57Who's that?
00:04:58Jesus.
00:05:00You scared me.
00:05:02Here you go.
00:05:04It was just my ex.
00:05:07Your ex?
00:05:09Soon-to-be ex.
00:05:13So, you're all by your lonesome.
00:05:16Just me and the sheep.
00:05:18Just you and the sheep?
00:05:20It ain't that bad.
00:05:27Something's dead in your shed.
00:05:29Huh?
00:05:31Something went and died in there.
00:05:32Oh.
00:05:34Yeah.
00:05:34The rats.
00:05:35Rats?
00:05:36Yeah, goddamn rats go in there, eat the poison, die.
00:05:41I got to seal it up.
00:05:43I got some 8x4s in my truck.
00:05:50You, uh...
00:05:51Are you sweet on me or what?
00:05:56Something like that.
00:06:02I'll get your wood.
00:06:11The police believe all these murders are connected.
00:06:15That this is the work of a serial killer.
00:06:21Whom they've dubbed the Bittertooth Killer.
00:06:25Hey, hold up.
00:06:27What up, girl?
00:06:28So, I was just going over the script for today.
00:06:31Yeah, good work on that opener.
00:06:37How's my hair?
00:06:40It's cute.
00:06:41It's better than mine.
00:06:42Nah, that's not true.
00:06:46So...
00:06:46The first ad break part.
00:06:48I just feel like it's a little weird.
00:06:51What's weird about it?
00:06:52Before we continue, guys, ladies notice.
00:06:55We see you grabbing yourself down there.
00:07:00And we are very aware of your spread.
00:07:04So I want to introduce liquid sex underwear.
00:07:07Not only is it comfortable and discreet,
00:07:11but it's elegant.
00:07:13Protective.
00:07:17On a true crime podcast?
00:07:18Two Milwaukee cops actually had the opportunity
00:07:20to catch Dahmer.
00:07:22Right.
00:07:22Fourteen-year-old Konorak synthassim phone.
00:07:25But be respectful.
00:07:28Sorry.
00:07:29Two...
00:07:30The cops were Joseph Gabrish and John Balserzak.
00:07:34Balserzak.
00:07:35Get it?
00:07:35Because, you know...
00:07:35Liquid sex.
00:07:36Stack your sex.
00:07:37Okay, that's going to be...
00:07:38Balserzak.
00:07:39Okay.
00:07:41There were two eyewitnesses, actually.
00:07:43Oh, okay.
00:07:44Sandra Smith and Nicole Childress.
00:07:45They saw Dahmer with the kid.
00:07:49And he was naked, bleeding.
00:07:52They reported this to the cops.
00:07:55And the cops actually threatened the women with police action.
00:07:58Saying they filed a false report.
00:07:59For what?
00:08:00They literally...
00:08:02For a false...
00:08:02Filed a false report.
00:08:03Shit.
00:08:04Returned the kid to Dahmer.
00:08:05No, they didn't.
00:08:06Dahmer killed him an hour later.
00:08:0810-48!
00:08:09Y'all hate you, motherfuckers!
00:08:11I know!
00:08:11This kid was 14.
00:08:12They didn't even have a driver's license.
00:08:13That shows me that it's just all fucked.
00:08:16Well, okay.
00:08:17Again, keep in mind, this is America.
00:08:20So, Sandra, Nicole, both black women.
00:08:22Right.
00:08:23Konarak was a Laotian immigrant.
00:08:26And these cops were both...
00:08:29What?
00:08:29Okay.
00:08:30Yeah.
00:08:30Well, that just proves to me that the entire system's...
00:08:33And there's not a lot we can do about it.
00:08:35Mia, so when we go to edit this, we should throw their pictures up.
00:08:39You know what I'm saying?
00:08:40Like, post them up so that people can see them.
00:08:42Because those guys are f*****s.
00:08:44Allegedly.
00:08:45Okay, so demonetize us.
00:08:46What do I give a s*****?
00:08:47I mean, come on.
00:08:48Like, we got sponsors?
00:08:49Okay, it might be a little weird.
00:08:50But, I mean, we're self-limiting the demonetization.
00:08:52Yeah, you're right.
00:08:52I know how the game's played.
00:08:54It's fine.
00:08:56They've been my sponsors since, like, forever.
00:08:59How are you doing?
00:09:10You've really grown on camera.
00:09:13Grim.
00:09:14Like, the grimmest.
00:09:16You know, how did you even come back from that?
00:09:22Mia.
00:09:22I don't know.
00:09:26That's off cam.
00:09:27Mia, everybody.
00:09:32Who thinks she should be on cam Mia?
00:09:40I think she should.
00:09:42Blow up those comment sections.
00:09:43Give me the vote for on cam Mia.
00:09:46I said.
00:09:48How do you come back from that?
00:09:51Can you just get to the crazy thing?
00:09:58What's the crazy thing, Miss Off Cam?
00:10:02It's playing on my bottle.
00:10:03What?
00:10:04What?
00:10:06It's water.
00:10:09For all you viewers out there.
00:10:11Hi.
00:10:12This is artesian.
00:10:14Coconut flavored.
00:10:16I'm going to put a little lime in the coconut,
00:10:18if you know what I'm saying.
00:10:21Okay.
00:10:22Ew.
00:10:23Oh, my God.
00:10:24Okay, okay, okay, okay.
00:10:25Just get out here.
00:10:27Just get out here.
00:10:28Oh, here.
00:10:28Hi.
00:10:29Hello.
00:10:31I hate this.
00:10:32Yeah, you're doing great, though.
00:10:33I promise.
00:10:35She's fine.
00:10:36So, uh, you were saying?
00:10:39Um, Emeril.
00:10:41Say it louder.
00:10:44Emeril, future crime writer, worked with Bundy.
00:10:48Okay.
00:10:50Um, yeah, flexor soprano.
00:10:52Worked with Bundy at a call center every night.
00:10:54Uh, he never did anything to her.
00:10:56Like, every night, though?
00:10:58It's, wait, hold on.
00:11:00He never did, like, for real?
00:11:03Um, yeah, in her book, Stranger Beside Me, she says they developed a close relationship.
00:11:09Like, like, how close?
00:11:11Like, like, sex close?
00:11:14I don't know.
00:11:15I don't know.
00:11:15I, I have it.
00:11:16In here.
00:11:18Okay, well, you know.
00:11:20Mm.
00:11:22God, it's refreshing.
00:11:25We gotta get you organized.
00:11:26Oh, here.
00:11:27Hey, you can do it.
00:11:31Okay, um.
00:11:33I mean, you're old about a close relationship.
00:11:34Shared lunches.
00:11:35Nothing sexual.
00:11:36He was, like, ten years older than her.
00:11:39I mean, Bundy was pretty hot, so, you know, I imagine that's probably why women trusted him.
00:11:48He broke into a Florida sorority, attacked four women while they slept, killing two of them.
00:11:59Okay, I see your point now.
00:12:00He'd be hot and still would kill him.
00:12:02He, he was a good liar.
00:12:04I think.
00:12:06Never mind.
00:12:06No, that's all we're here for.
00:12:07Come on.
00:12:08You're doing great.
00:12:10It's just, um.
00:12:11I think that's the worst, the worst part, right?
00:12:15What's the worst part?
00:12:18They don't know the difference.
00:12:25So, you, uh, think you're ready to talk about it?
00:12:30Soon?
00:12:32That's okay.
00:12:33I mean, that's what I'm here for, right?
00:12:34So, you went through this, this big thing, and that's totally fine, and we're gonna get
00:12:42you to a place where you're gonna own it, right?
00:12:46It's, it's hard, but maybe if you talk about it, you can come out stronger for it.
00:12:53Uh, and, you know, you're gonna be a badass, right?
00:13:00You got this.
00:13:01It's, uh, the Bundy Beetle is in the crime museum.
00:13:06There's a crime museum?
00:13:08Yeah, there's a crime museum.
00:13:11I wanna, I wanna go!
00:13:13I wanna go, too.
00:13:16If you wanna see us go to the crime museum, go to patreon.com.
00:13:20Come on, come on, come on, it's in the butt.
00:13:23You love it.

00:13:36Yeah, well, I'm great, so.
00:13:38Shh, shh, shh, okay.
00:13:38I will do it right this time.
00:13:41Okay.
00:13:43Patreon.com, backslash, say it with me now, who are we?
00:13:49The Gruesome Gals!
00:13:51The Gru, the Gruesome Gals!
00:13:53Come, come on.
00:13:54The Gruesome Gals!
00:13:56I mean, if you don't wanna do it.
00:13:58No, no, no, we have to.
00:13:59You've spent months on it.
00:14:06I'll, I'll see you in there.
00:14:11On today's episode, we'll explore all the unsolved murders that have occurred in the past four decades.
00:14:17Looking into the evidence, theories, and leads that have been uncovered.
00:14:22Police believe that all of these murders are connected.
00:14:25This is the work of a serial killer.
00:14:27Who they have dubbed the Bittertooth Killer.
00:14:32The McDonald Triad is a series of three primary indicators of what violent psychopathy looks like in adulthood.
00:14:40And those three things?
00:14:41In the early hours of the morning, on a crisp Palm day in 1982, Phyllis Breckenridge, a 30-year-old
00:14:46teacher, disappeared.
00:14:48She got into her car and drove off down the Parablassmen Highway.
00:14:52Her body would be found nine months later, outside Palmdale, California, in a patch of Bittertooth Mushrooms.
00:14:57She was his first victim.
00:15:04After the body of Phyllis Breckenridge was found, everything went quiet.
00:15:08That is, until the winter of 1990.
00:15:17That was when Suzanne Crawford went missing, while on her way to visit her best friend, Sheila Jean Steffenhoff.
00:15:28Three weeks later, the right foot of a young female was found in a dumpster behind a Motel 6 in
00:15:36Acton, California.
00:15:41Police suspected the foot belonged to Suzanne Crawford, but it would take nearly 15 years for DNA to prove it.
00:15:52Crawford is considered to be the second victim of the Bittertooth Killer.
00:16:13So, Mia and I met on a survivor's forum, which must have come off when we were fighting.
00:16:19No DNA, nothing, just trace amounts of Bittertooth.
00:16:23The cops, obviously.
00:16:24Oh, no, they didn't process the rape kit correctly, I'm sure.
00:16:27Right.
00:16:27And then, a few weeks later, they pulled me into this lineup.
00:16:31Right.
00:16:33Black guys.
00:16:34Lineup of black guys.
00:16:36Black guys.
00:16:37I told them.
00:16:38It was a white guy in a black hoodie.
00:16:40Like, they literally had the hoodie, but they just started looking for black guys movies.
00:16:45Oh, my God.
00:16:46That is, like, criminal levels of incompetence.
00:16:48The incompetence is perennial.
00:16:49Oh, yeah.
00:16:50No, on the cops' part.
00:16:51Yeah, I just felt powerless, you know?
00:16:54Like, what do you even do?
00:16:55You go on, you make a true crime podcast.
00:16:57That's what you do.
00:16:58Yeah.
00:16:59You make a true crime podcast.
00:17:00That's how they got the Golden State Killer.
00:17:02Women like us, who don't put up with men, okay?
00:17:06Really, any disenfranchised group, like, has to kind of just take matters into their own hands.
00:17:12Okay, black people, right?
00:17:14Think about the way that we treat minorities in this country, you know?
00:17:17They're treated like...
00:17:19What happened to me?
00:17:19Right.
00:17:20No, it's exactly what happened to you.
00:17:22Think about the legislature, too.
00:17:24Oh, yeah.
00:17:25All the legislation that's just absolutely victimizing the entire trans community.
00:17:29Right?
00:17:30To be LGBT at all.
00:17:32Plus, plus, everybody, everybody.
00:17:34People of color?
00:17:35Disproportionately so, POCs.
00:17:37Women?
00:17:38Women?
00:17:39What do you call them, too?
00:17:40Like, sex workers?
00:17:42Women of color?
00:17:44Everybody.
00:17:47If you are not a cis white man in this country, you can just eat your ass and die.
00:17:54Absolutely, no.
00:17:55You go.
00:17:56And that's it, actually.
00:17:58Since we're on the subject of blue.
00:18:00You live?
00:18:03Abortion rights and all that stuff, yeah.
00:18:05Do you vote blue?
00:18:06I mean, I would.
00:18:07It's literally planetary preservation at this point.
00:18:11Although, I'm feeling a little...
00:18:13Feeling a little anarchy these days.
00:18:16Yeah?
00:18:17I could legit be an anarchist.
00:18:18I think I could do it.
00:18:19I don't do anarchy.
00:18:21I like you, though.
00:18:21Well, thanks.
00:18:26Look, it's a war zone out there.
00:18:29Okay?
00:18:30Like, what are we supposed to do?
00:18:33The system's rigged.
00:18:34The game is...
00:18:35I mean, the whole thing is just...
00:18:38What do we do?
00:18:39Uh, your mom's, man.
00:18:41Look at your mom's.
00:18:42Right?
00:18:44What is it?
00:18:45Uh, what's your mom's name?
00:18:47Vicky?
00:18:48Okay, but you don't have to say her last name because, you know, we're doxing and stuff.
00:18:51I don't...
00:18:52It's okay.
00:18:52Don't worry about that.
00:18:53So, you know.
00:18:55I'm sorry about the last name.
00:18:57Um, I...
00:19:00My mom...
00:19:01Um, Vicky, my mom.
00:19:03Right.
00:19:04Um, so they adopted me, obviously.
00:19:07Um, they adopted me from China.
00:19:08Oh, my God.
00:19:09China.
00:19:11China.
00:19:11Look, that's another country that the U.S. absolutely f***ed.
00:19:15They raped China.
00:19:17I think it's kind of...
00:19:18Okay, the United States does that, though.
00:19:20Or, like, I'm really surprised.
00:19:22Did your mom finally get married, by the way?
00:19:24Like, finally?
00:19:28Forgot to ask.
00:19:28I'm sorry.
00:19:30I know that they were super excited about it, so...
00:19:32Um, my other mom...
00:19:38She would have died.
00:19:43Oh, my God, Mia.
00:19:44I'm so sorry.
00:19:45I didn't...
00:19:50Um...
00:19:51I didn't know.
00:19:53I'm...
00:19:54I didn't know.
00:20:07Hello!
00:20:08Cut!
00:20:09That was amazing.
00:20:11You did fantastic.
00:20:37Hold on, Mom.
00:20:38One sec.
00:20:39You can go.
00:20:44What's up?
00:20:46What do you think you're doing?
00:20:50It's fine.
00:20:51Everybody is talking about it again!
00:20:54Even the guy at the grocery store!
00:20:55Okay, well, I'm fluttered.
00:20:56That is not my fault.
00:20:59I called because you've got to be careful!
00:21:01Damn it!
00:21:03Who is that?
00:21:05No one, Mom.
00:21:09I've got to do something!
00:21:10Why this, kiddo?
00:21:12I can handle it.
00:21:12Well, you look like crap.
00:21:14And you look like my mom.
00:21:19Seriously, though?
00:21:21It's one in the morning, Mom.
00:21:24Are you on pills or something?
00:21:27Don't say that!
00:21:28What's that?
00:21:29It's ignorant.
00:21:30I will say what I want to say when I want to say it.
00:21:33Tell me you're okay.
00:21:35Better than most.
00:21:36I don't think I like that.
00:21:37I don't think that's enough for me.
00:21:39Okay, well, that's on you.
00:21:40Okay, I get it.
00:21:41You're just working through something.
00:21:42That's not what this is.
00:21:44Are you sure?
00:21:46It's my job.
00:21:47Okay, fine.
00:21:50Well, I'm good at it.
00:21:51Yeah, it's your job.
00:21:53And the money's good.
00:21:55Oh, well, I'm glad.
00:21:58Okay, happy to hear it.
00:22:01I'm glad you're paying your bills, okay?
00:22:05I just worry about you.
00:22:11I know.
00:22:13I wish I could be there with you more.
00:22:15No, no, no, no, don't worry about me.
00:22:18I just want to make sure you're safe.
00:22:24I love you, baby.
00:22:30I love you, too.
00:22:32Good night.
00:22:56Looking back, I've been wasting so much time.
00:23:02I've been trying hard to find a fantasy.
00:23:12Hiding all the tears, running from the fears and memories.
00:23:39See you, Dilla.
00:23:43Hey, Dad.
00:23:44Hey, Dad.

00:25:41you put on a hell of a show kid just think about what it is I'm not selling
00:25:49that I'm gonna want
00:26:39It was speculated that David Lee Dawes had access to the vehicle that matched the description
00:26:46of the one provided in winter of 1990, this same vehicle that was seen picking up Suzanne Crawford
00:26:55the very last time she was seen alive. Dawes was stationed just outside of Lancaster. The police
00:27:03looked into David Lee Dawes as a possible suspect, but with over 5,000 tips coming in and
00:27:10cross-jurisdiction laws not being what they are today. So you see that's that's what I
00:27:17knew because you you started mentioning the dates of the first killings and I was
00:27:28probably eight or nine I guess and I I woke up to the sound of something coming
00:27:38from the uh the back shed. There's sounds I never heard before.
00:27:49What are you doing here?
00:27:57When was this? Had to have been like December 1990. I'd want it. You know what it's not
00:28:08like relying to her or anything? Yeah I suppose not. I heard stories about your dad. He was
00:28:17no saint. There's a picture of my dad. What do you look like back then? I didn't know what
00:28:28to do for a lot of years. I was just a kid. I guess your podcast triggered it or something.
00:28:35But I think that was Suzanne Crawford.
00:28:45So he dismembers them now? Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. That's just what I mean.
00:28:52That explains the gap between when he takes them and when their bodies are found. He's torturing them.
00:29:03Okay. What else?
00:29:10I don't I don't really remember anything else. I just I remember my dad saying this day in the house.
00:29:23You're no part of us. You're not meant for this.
00:29:45What about your mom? Well I mean. My mom. You said it was you and your dad and your mom.
00:29:52Yeah. And you mentioned in your email she traveled a lot. So. Yeah. Yeah. Um. Yeah. She uh. My dad
00:30:02wasn't. He wasn't good on his bills. So my mom. She uh. She worked as a steward.
00:30:11She worked as a stewardess.
00:30:13She worked as a stewardess.
00:30:13Like airlines.
00:30:16So she was probably gone. Right?
00:30:20Yeah. Yeah. Something like that.
00:30:25Is that what happened?
00:30:34I don't know. I was just a kid. And uh. And my mom was a drunk. And my dad worked
00:30:45her into the grave.
00:30:51He didn't give a **** or a loss or anything. He was selfish. And he's crazy. And what he did
00:31:06was unforgivable.
00:31:11Did you get the thing I asked you for?
00:31:13Uh huh. Yeah. It's right there.
00:31:15Hey boxer.
00:31:17Right where you said it would be.
00:31:18How you doing bud?
00:31:19Just in a little patch.
00:31:24This stuff grows wild all over the place.
00:31:28Better take.
00:31:31Uh. My dad.
00:31:35You okay?
00:31:45I get why you didn't go to the cops.
00:31:47Yeah.
00:31:48Yeah there's not a lot here.
00:31:49I mean but it's a start right?
00:31:52Maybe.
00:31:54I think it's a pretty good start.
00:31:56The timeline's okay.
00:31:57Um.
00:31:58Um.
00:31:59There's still so much work we'd have to do.
00:32:02You're in luck.
00:32:07What?
00:32:11I may have been recording him.
00:32:14You what?
00:32:16That's a ****.
00:32:18Can you believe it?
00:32:18His neighbor.
00:32:19Her name's Eileen Fell.
00:32:22She runs a sheep farm up there but no one's seen her in about a week.
00:32:27Do you think you could get his military records?
00:32:34Yeah.
00:32:35Do what I can.
00:32:38I think there's something there.
00:32:41I want to make sure.
00:32:46Jackpot.
00:32:46Perfect.
00:32:47We'll be in touch.
00:32:48I just want to get that sound a bit.
00:32:51So do we.
00:32:55It was really nice to meet you.
00:33:13Pretty good lead huh?
00:33:15This is what we're going to record.
00:33:16Come back for next week's episode when we will finally reveal the name of the man that we believe is
00:33:22the best candidate yet for the bitter tooth killer.
00:33:27Okay but why wait a week?
00:33:28Well we still have so much research to do.
00:33:31Oh.
00:33:32I mean we could start by saying his name first right?
00:33:36And then just work our way backwards from there.
00:33:38Let me check a few things first.
00:33:40I could text Lint?
00:33:41Yeah.
00:33:41Good idea.
00:33:42Yeah.
00:33:43Okay.
00:33:48Our possible suspect was located in an air force base near Lancaster at that time.
00:33:55Not too far from where victim Suzanne Crawford lived.
00:33:58Okay.
00:33:59You got a source on that though?
00:34:00It took me five minutes.
00:34:01God this is going to be huge.
00:34:03Next golden state killer.
00:34:05Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
00:34:06I'm not.
00:34:07We gotta do more research before we say his name on camera.
00:34:10But it's looking like you.
00:34:13I don't know.
00:34:16Okay then say it's a theory.
00:34:17Our theory, unlike all those others, is supported by facts.
00:34:22It's solid.
00:34:23We build it up, we make it showmanship.
00:34:28Add a little bit of mystery to it.
00:34:31Look, we've gotta do this so no one else gets hurt.
00:34:36And we refuse to cry wolf.
00:34:37Get those military records.
00:34:40Check a few things with us on.
00:34:43We've got enough here.
00:34:45Do we?
00:34:47Sure, we can make it a ten part series.
00:34:50Really build it up at the end.
00:34:52You know, reveal his name.
00:34:54Very dramatic.
00:34:56Today we're excited to present a brand new ten part series.
00:35:01We're gonna go down the rabbit hole with a shocking revelation.
00:35:05Because we have a lead on the man that we believe may be the infamous-
00:35:10Infamous?
00:35:11Bit or two.
00:35:12Hold up.
00:35:12What?
00:35:13I feel like we're moving too fast.
00:35:14You heard what Flint said.
00:35:15Yeah, I heard him.
00:35:17Right?
00:35:17What about the mushrooms?
00:35:18How much do we even know about this Flint guy?
00:35:19What's there to know?
00:35:20He could be lying.
00:35:23He-
00:35:25You were there!
00:35:26He's literally just some dude.
00:35:28You-
00:35:28He was super f***ing up about it, Mia.
00:35:31Fumbled that mom question.
00:35:32We listen and believe.
00:35:34We listen and believe.
00:35:34But he's a guy.
00:35:37Maybe this is the one time we believe the guy.
00:35:41I think we're gonna need more than belief.
00:35:43That's what this podcast is for.
00:35:45You know, we use that to get information.
00:35:47How do you figure?
00:35:48Listeners are gonna love it.
00:35:50Love it.
00:35:50It'll be compelling.
00:35:52You know?
00:35:53We'll use that to build momentum.
00:35:55Momentum means results.
00:35:57And results means money!
00:36:00People pay attention, and pay, when you put it on camera.
00:36:05So, what-
00:36:08We spark interest.
00:36:11Okay.
00:36:12It's a snowball effect, you know?
00:36:15Now I get it.
00:36:16And everything's content.
00:36:18Mm-hmm.
00:36:19What's the big name that they're gonna reveal at the end?
00:36:23It's going to be...
00:36:25Amazing!
00:36:27Ah!
00:36:27Oh, I-
00:36:30Hey, Mom.
00:36:31What is this ho-
00:36:32Okay.
00:36:34Nice talk.
00:36:35What?
00:36:35That last episode?
00:36:37Calling out this mysterious suspect?
00:36:39We got a lead.
00:36:40Oh, what?
00:36:40From the comments section?
00:36:42It's a good one.
00:36:43Oh.
00:36:44Well, you've gotta call policemen.
00:36:46They have policewomen, too.
00:36:48Alright, Mia.
00:36:49Call a cop!
00:36:52The cops don't care.
00:36:53Don't say that!
00:36:55You know it.
00:36:56No?
00:36:56I do not know that.
00:36:57You know they don't care.
00:36:59Don't put words in my mouth, okay?
00:37:01I remember that night.
00:37:02Oh, come on.
00:37:03You were fine!
00:37:04They pulled you over.
00:37:05What they did to you.
00:37:06Okay.
00:37:06And Sheila.
00:37:07Okay, stop it!
00:37:09And that white girl watch.
00:37:10Stop it!
00:37:16You know what your problem is?
00:37:17No.
00:37:18Tell me.
00:37:20Illuminate.
00:37:21You cannot let shit go.
00:37:23It's not my fault.
00:37:25It is!
00:37:26No, it's not.
00:37:27Yes, it is!
00:37:28You can control me!
00:37:28I'm trying!
00:37:34Alright, listen to me.
00:37:37I am sorry.
00:37:38Don't do that.
00:37:39I am sorry.
00:37:40Don't apologize for them.
00:37:42Believe me, I wish I could wave a magic wand and give you the world that you want.
00:37:47Maybe you can't, but I can.
00:37:48Don't talk crazy.
00:37:51I just gotta do things myself.
00:37:55You gotta get yourself killed.
00:37:57And that's just being melodramatic.
00:37:59Don't say some man's name!
00:38:02It's just a theory.
00:38:03We're investigating.
00:38:05That's all.
00:38:07Come on now, don't be dumb.
00:38:10You say his name, he'll know who you are.
00:38:13Best case scenario, you're ruining some guy's life.
00:38:17Worst case, you're calling out a psycho.
00:38:21For what?
00:38:22For likes?
00:38:23Don't worry about that.
00:38:23We have it covered.
00:38:24We have a P.O. box.
00:38:25We never put our numbers anywhere.
00:38:26It's fine.
00:38:27He wants to find you.
00:38:29He will find you.
00:38:31Yeah.
00:38:35You're right.
00:38:36I'm right.
00:38:37You're absolutely right.
00:38:38Yeah, thank you.
00:38:40It's dangerous.
00:38:45It's not right.
00:38:49Gotta do something.
00:38:51Yeah, yeah.
00:38:52You should.
00:38:53I gotta go.
00:38:56We gotta go up there.
00:38:59How's that?
00:39:00What we have is just not enough.
00:39:03You're right.
00:39:04We gotta go up there.
00:39:05We film this farm.
00:39:06We film everything that we can.
00:39:09We get something good, you know?
00:39:11And then we tell listeners his name.
00:39:17I mean...
00:39:18You went up there.
00:39:19Yeah, I mean...
00:39:20Of course I went up there.
00:39:21But at the same time...
00:39:22You've got your own eyes.
00:39:24You can see things maybe I missed, you know?
00:39:26What...
00:39:27So we got filler content?
00:39:29It's not a bad thing.
00:39:30Besides...
00:39:30Look.
00:39:31Something is going on up there.
00:39:35It's...
00:39:35It's him.
00:39:37It's him.
00:39:38We gotta go.
00:39:39I need to see him.
00:39:40These guys like Dawes.
00:39:43These...
00:39:44Bum...
00:39:45Middle of nowhere country bumpkin...
00:39:48They get away with anything...
00:39:51And everything...
00:39:52That they can.
00:39:54I should know.
00:39:56I'm a recovering farm girl.
00:39:59But...
00:40:00That's what we're here for.
00:40:03Yeah, we're going up there.
00:40:05Oh, you know what?
00:40:06We're already gone.
00:40:08And then we'll name...
00:40:09Then we'll name...
00:40:11We got this.
00:40:25You all ready to roll?
00:40:27Let's roll.
00:40:29Rolling.
00:40:32Um...
00:40:32And...
00:40:33Rolling on you.
00:40:34We are at the farm...
00:40:36Of David Lee Dawes.
00:40:39Whom we suspect...
00:40:41Is the Bittertooth Killer.
00:40:43You see his truck over there?
00:40:45Okay.
00:40:46Um...
00:40:47So...
00:40:47Alright, this is fine.
00:40:49Now, our suspect is nowhere to be seen at the moment.
00:40:52But...
00:40:53We are a safe distance away.
00:40:55So I'm not...
00:40:55Too worried about it.
00:40:57And...
00:40:57Hey Mia...
00:40:58Can we...
00:40:59Can we get that over there?
00:41:00Uh...
00:41:00So this is where Flint said that his father may have murdered Eileen...
00:41:05Fell...
00:41:05Her body still might be here.
00:41:07We know he tortures his victims.
00:41:09What...
00:41:09What are you doing?
00:41:10What?
00:41:11No...
00:41:11We gotta cut that out.
00:41:13What?
00:41:13You can't say his name.
00:41:16What?
00:41:17You can't say Flint's name.
00:41:19I can't?
00:41:19You can't say Flint's name.
00:41:20I can't?
00:41:20Just...
00:41:21Say the son.
00:41:24It's just...
00:41:25I mean like...
00:41:25What if weirdos come after him or something, you know?
00:41:28Flint?
00:41:29Right.
00:41:29Wait.
00:41:31Okay.
00:41:31Um...
00:41:32I'll take that back.
00:41:34So...
00:41:35This is what...
00:41:35What was that?
00:41:42Okay.
00:41:42Well it's...
00:41:43Nothing.
00:41:43Apparently.
00:41:47It's just...
00:41:48It's totally okay.
00:41:49It happens.
00:41:49Just...
00:41:51Let's...
00:41:52Sorry.
00:41:53No.
00:41:53No.
00:41:54It's...
00:41:54It's okay.
00:41:54Just don't worry about it.
00:41:55I just...
00:41:56I need to get closer.
00:41:57Wait.
00:41:58Hey.
00:41:58Mia.
00:41:58What the...
00:41:59No one's in there.
00:42:00Mia.
00:42:00I have to get closer.
00:42:01No.
00:42:02Mia.
00:42:02Are you fucking crazy?
00:42:07Hello?
00:42:08Mia.
00:42:09Fuck the gate.
00:42:09God damn it.
00:42:10Okay.
00:42:11Alright.
00:42:12Um...
00:42:12This is the road where uh...
00:42:14David Lee Dawes allegedly took uh...
00:42:17Five of his victims.
00:42:19Including Eileen Fell.
00:42:21To torture them.
00:42:22Allegedly.
00:42:23Mia.
00:42:24Mia.
00:42:24What the fuck?
00:42:25Mia.
00:42:26Stop.
00:42:26What are you doing?
00:42:27Mia.
00:42:28Your bodies aren't bound to be one.
00:42:29Your trust has to be here.
00:42:30Fine.
00:42:31You torture them.
00:42:31God damn it.
00:42:32Shit.
00:42:36Stop it.
00:42:37You.
00:42:39Look.
00:42:40This is crazy.
00:42:40Okay.
00:42:41We can't just run onto property and do this.
00:42:48Fine.
00:42:48You look around.
00:42:50Whatever makes you feel better.
00:42:51But as soon as you're done we go.
00:42:55Go anything from there.
00:43:04Come on.
00:43:06No.
00:43:07Mia.
00:43:07Mia.
00:43:08Don't you fucking get.
00:43:09Mia.

00:43:44Mia!
00:43:46No, don't!
00:43:47What the hell?
00:43:49Against the wall.

00:44:09Go get your keys, you bitch!
00:44:11No!
00:44:15Oh my god.

00:44:20Stay down!
00:44:24Okay, ladies.
00:44:25What now?
00:44:26You're gonna talk.
00:44:28You know what?
00:44:30Look, I gotta feed the dogs.

00:45:02Hands! Now!
00:45:12It's gone far enough.
00:45:15Where is Eileen?
00:45:17Who the hell is Eileen?
00:45:19Who is Eileen?
00:45:20We talked to Flint. He told us everything.
00:45:24So you talked to Flint.
00:45:27Talk to Flynn.
00:45:30What was that? Eileen?
00:45:32Are you up there?
00:45:35Ivy, go check it out.
00:45:37Check it out! You check it out!
00:45:39You do it!
00:45:39Fine!

00:45:59What?
00:46:00What?
00:46:19You knew!
00:46:20Didn't ya?
00:46:24You down in your nethers, you knew a reckoning was coming.
00:46:33Everybody knows it.
00:46:35Y'all kids know it.
00:46:37They know what God and what the devil does.
00:46:42The biggest goddamn of it all, you can't see it.
00:46:55All right, now you scream.
00:46:58She dies.
00:47:02Try to bite me.
00:47:05She dies.
00:47:09Try to fight me, tough girl.
00:47:12I'm gonna stick you with a cow prod.
00:47:17Where's Mia?
00:47:19She's got nothing to do with this.
00:47:23What did you do to her?
00:47:30What do you care?
00:47:32What's going on?
00:47:37You had to go and make it all about Mia.
00:47:41You just led her along the whole way.
00:47:44And that is what gets me, because you just went and did all the work yourself.
00:47:49Women always do.
00:47:50Yes, sir, they do.
00:47:52My wife.
00:47:54God rest her soul.
00:47:57She had to be taught.
00:48:031982, Phyllis Breckenridge, a 30-year-old teacher, disappeared.
00:48:08Phyllis Breckenridge.
00:48:09Her body would be found nine months later outside Palmdale, California in a patch of bitter-toothed mushrooms.
00:48:22He raped her.
00:48:26She was rudderless.
00:48:28Depressed.
00:48:29Thought she couldn't have it.
00:48:31Dad did her a favor.
00:48:33That's right.
00:48:34I gave her something she thought she couldn't have.
00:48:36Sick bastard.
00:48:39God, bring something all to me.
00:48:45Okay.
00:48:45Love of souls.
00:48:47Alright.
00:48:48What?
00:48:50Things we don't talk about at Thanksgiving.
00:48:52What?
00:48:53Sorry, sir.
00:48:55Sorry.
00:48:55You hold your tongue, boy.
00:49:02My son said you were more than willing to play along.
00:49:07I just had to put on a dog and mushroom show.
00:49:11Yeah, but I don't think you can.
00:49:13Not by yourself.
00:49:17Put on a hell of a show, kid.
00:49:23Just think about what I'm saying.
00:49:27I'm not selling.
00:49:36It's my turn you ask questions now.
00:49:40What are you willing to do for your little friend?
00:49:43What's her name?
00:49:45Me.
00:49:46Yeah, that's it.
00:49:47The little Asian.
00:49:5130 seconds, listener.
00:49:53What's your answer?
00:49:56No!
00:49:57Anything!
00:50:02You tricked her, didn't you?
00:50:06Say it.
00:50:07Say it, or I'm gonna gut your friend.
00:50:12I tricked her.
00:50:14I tricked her.
00:50:15I tricked her.
00:50:19What else?
00:50:21You lied.
00:50:23I...
00:50:23Yes?
00:50:24I...
00:50:25I don't...
00:50:26Say it.
00:50:28Say it!
00:50:29No!
00:50:31No!
00:50:32No!
00:50:34No!
00:50:36No!
00:50:36No!
00:50:37No!
00:50:40No!
00:50:40No!
00:50:41No!
00:50:42No!
00:50:43No!
00:50:43No!
00:50:45No!
00:50:47No!
00:50:51It's...
00:50:52No!
00:50:52No!
00:50:53No!
00:50:53No!
00:50:54No!
00:51:00Yes!
00:51:03No!
00:51:05No!
00:51:07No!
00:51:08No!
00:51:33I am weak, but thou art strong.
00:51:42Jesus, keep me from all wrong. I'll be satisfied as long as I want with Thee, don't let it be.
00:52:07Just a closer walk with Thee.
00:52:16Grant it, Jesus, is my dream.
00:52:26Daily walking next to Thee.
00:52:31Oh, let it be. Oh, Lord, let it be.
00:52:56I just can't see him get through.
00:53:03I tried everything.
00:53:08I'm afraid maybe she's just a lost soul.
00:53:15We're losing more and more these days.
00:53:20You're a special fish.
00:53:24I wouldn't throw you back for nothing.
00:53:30Maybe you can get through to her.
00:53:33Maybe you can crack that pig head of hers.
00:53:54Hi, everyone. Welcome to another episode of gruesome gals.
00:53:59Unfortunately, Ivy couldn't make it today.
00:54:01But I will be revealing our number one pick for who is the bitter tooth killer.
00:54:07And I have a special guest. It's my mom, Vicki.
00:54:10Hi. How are you ready?
00:54:12Thank you for coming on such short notice.
00:54:14Oh, I wasn't expecting you to do it.
00:54:17Yeah, I know. And also, thank you for coming around on my little bitter tooth story.
00:54:23Yeah, of course.
00:54:25Well, guys, my mom is my biggest critic.
00:54:27Come on, I'm here, aren't I?
00:54:29Yeah, no, thank you.
00:54:31Plus, it's the right thing to do.
00:54:36Especially as, you know, you know.
00:54:39Yeah.
00:54:42Clear the air a little bit.
00:54:44Okay, so you're a fan?
00:54:48I mean, I listen.
00:54:49A listener, then.
00:54:50Pretty regularly.
00:54:52Yeah.
00:54:52Guys, okay.
00:54:53So, when we started this bitter tooth segment, my mom started calling me religiously.
00:54:58I didn't say religiously.
00:54:59Literally every day.
00:55:00I'm not exaggerating.
00:55:01Well, I'm your mom, kiddo.
00:55:03And I worry about you.
00:55:04So, yeah, that's what moms do.
00:55:05I actually wanted you to be here today because I want to talk about what happened to me.
00:55:14Okay, well, that's the thing.
00:55:16Kiddo, the attack when you were 16.
00:55:19Oh, no, no, no, no.
00:55:20I want to go back before then.
00:55:22Earlier.
00:55:23Before then?
00:55:25Yeah, back when you acquired me.
00:55:29Oh.
00:55:31Okay.
00:55:32Yeah, do you remember?
00:55:34Of course I remember.
00:55:35Well, tell them.
00:55:38What do you mean?
00:55:40Adopting me.
00:55:43Oh.
00:55:45Okay.
00:55:46Well, it wasn't easy back then.
00:55:51Right.
00:55:51Yeah.
00:55:52I mean, you know, adoption isn't what it is today.
00:55:58Especially because, you know.
00:56:01For same-sex couples, it's really hard.
00:56:04Right.
00:56:06You had to fight for what you wanted.
00:56:08Yes.
00:56:09Yeah.
00:56:10But Sheila and me, we knew we had to have you.
00:56:16You were a joy.
00:56:18You were everything.
00:56:21Do you remember the airport?
00:56:23The airport?
00:56:24Yeah, when you first got me.
00:56:28Of course I do.
00:56:31It was the first time I met you and Sheila.
00:56:35What?
00:56:36Well, how would you remember that?
00:56:39Okay, guys.
00:56:40There's something you probably don't know about me.
00:56:43I actually have perfect recall.
00:56:46What?
00:56:46Yeah.
00:56:47I know.
00:56:47It's crazy.
00:56:49I can remember everything.
00:56:51Like phone numbers, credit card numbers, people's faces,
00:56:54addresses, text books, like everything.
00:56:58Wow.
00:56:59Wow.
00:56:59That's something.
00:57:01See, even my own mom didn't know that about me.
00:57:07Well, I guess you learned something new about you every day, even now, kiddo.
00:57:12There's a lot you don't know about me.
00:57:17I remember meeting you guys at the airport.
00:57:19Oh.
00:57:20That was something.
00:57:22You actually got me a gift.
00:57:25Do you remember?
00:57:28Well, I'm not like you, kiddo.
00:57:30No, sorry.
00:57:31I don't remember.
00:57:34Really?
00:57:35Sorry.
00:57:37I guess it was a really long time ago.
00:57:39Um, you got me this gift.
00:57:41And I actually, I actually have it with me today.
00:57:44Do you want to see it?
00:57:46You do?
00:57:47Yeah.
00:57:48Yeah.
00:57:49Okay.
00:57:49Sure.
00:57:55Oh my God.
00:57:57You remember?
00:57:58Oh, that's right.
00:58:00Yeah.
00:58:01I used to take it everywhere with me, put it next to my bed.
00:58:04Oh.
00:58:05Take it just so long.
00:58:07Yeah.
00:58:07Gotcha.
00:58:07Yeah.
00:58:08Do you know what this is?
00:58:10Oh, I think we looked it up once, didn't we?
00:58:12Did you?
00:58:13Oh.
00:58:13Oh, there was this great little shop by the airport and Sheila and I, we wanted you to have
00:58:20them.
00:58:20This is a no mask.
00:58:21It's really pretty, huh?
00:58:23No.
00:58:23N-O-H.
00:58:25No.
00:58:25These have been used in Japan for centuries.
00:58:28Centuries.
00:58:29Yeah.
00:58:29No theater is what it's called.
00:58:30They integrate song and dance and musical instruments and these masks.
00:58:35Wow.
00:58:35You learn something new every day.
00:58:37So this one's called the Dacon.
00:58:39Oh, is that so?
00:58:40So in the 16th century.
00:58:42Okay.
00:58:42Okay.
00:58:43What?
00:58:46I'm just saying, you know, I think we've had enough of the masks.
00:58:49Oh, you want to get to the serial killer stuff?
00:58:53Think.
00:58:53You know, we're probably boring people.
00:58:55This is boring.
00:58:57I don't understand.
00:58:58Can you just listen?
00:59:02Okay.
00:59:03Okay.
00:59:03Sure.
00:59:05So in no, the women would wear these different masks displaying varying levels of jealousy.
00:59:12Jealousy?
00:59:13Yeah.
00:59:13This lady right here is actually hiding a lot of jealousy.
00:59:17Okay.
00:59:17Well, if you say so.
00:59:18Yeah.
00:59:18She eventually grows horns.
00:59:20Horns.
00:59:21And becomes more and more of a monster.
00:59:22Okay.
00:59:22I do not get into that.
00:59:23It's interesting.
00:59:25Right?
00:59:28Sure.
00:59:29So, um, I knew all that.
00:59:33And I'm actually not even Japanese.
00:59:35I'm Chinese.
00:59:36Mom.
00:59:38Always have been.
00:59:39I knew that.
00:59:41Really?
00:59:42I kind of feel like you don't know the difference.
00:59:45Oh, come on.
00:59:46That's not true.
00:59:47You didn't teach me anything.
00:59:50Well, I'm not Chinese, kiddo.
00:59:52But I am.
00:59:53No.
00:59:54You're not.
00:59:55You are American.
00:59:56That's not what those cops said.
00:59:57Okay.
00:59:58We are not going there.
00:59:59Do you remember what they called you?
01:00:00Stop it.
01:00:01What they called me?
01:00:02What that white girl called me?
01:00:03Oh, and then she laughed.
01:00:04Turn this off.
01:00:04Hear me, ya.
01:00:06Cut all this out.
01:00:07No.
01:00:08This is really good content.
01:00:10You know what?
01:00:11What?
01:00:11You just walk around acting like you've got it all figured out.
01:00:15You're not even 30 years old.
01:00:16You have not lived what I have lived.
01:00:19People aren't that complex.
01:00:20Life is messy.
01:00:22Okay?
01:00:23Why?
01:00:23What?
01:00:25You make all the messes.
01:00:30What are you talking about?
01:00:32Do you remember what you said?
01:00:33Okay.
01:00:34We are done here.
01:00:35You said, we're sorry.
01:00:36You said, we're sorry you apologized to those pig cops after they treated me like a dog.
01:00:42I was trying.
01:00:43You said, we're sorry.
01:00:44I was trying to get us out of there.
01:00:46Turn this off me.
01:00:48Why?
01:00:49This is great content.
01:00:51Just admit it.
01:00:51You hate yourself.
01:00:53Don't you?
01:00:53You are an ungrateful little brat.
01:00:58You saved your soul.
01:01:00What?
01:01:05What?
01:01:08What?
01:01:13What's going on?
01:01:14I think you need to shut up.
01:01:17Oh my god.
01:01:18I'm trying to shoot deer.
01:01:21How?
01:01:22No.
01:01:23So, you ready?
01:01:24Ready for what?
01:01:27To confess.
01:01:29Mia, I thought you were dead.
01:01:31I-
01:01:31Dundling games.
01:01:32Confess what?
01:01:33I promised Oz I would try to save your soul.
01:01:36You know how it is.
01:01:37Whatever I did.
01:01:38All of the things I did.
01:01:39Look, I've tried to be a better person.
01:01:41And I did.
01:01:41I thought.
01:01:42I just-
01:01:44Mia.
01:01:46I don't-
01:01:47I'm sorry.
01:01:48If you're sorry.
01:01:49What are you sorry for?
01:01:51Say it.
01:01:52I'm so sorry.
01:01:53I don't-
01:01:54I'm sorry.
01:01:56You don't-
01:01:58even-
01:01:59remember.
01:02:01I remember.
01:02:01I remember everything from your little pigtails to the smug look on your stupid little white
01:02:08face.
01:02:12Flint and Oz are idiots.
01:02:14You know, they're boys.
01:02:16What do you expect?
01:02:17But even senile ass-
01:02:19That-
01:02:20Oz was right about you.
01:02:24I make deals.
01:02:26Like, that's my thing.
01:02:27I have had to make deals my entire life.
01:02:30That's how I've survived.
01:02:31Do you understand?
01:02:32Like, I should be dead.
01:02:34Everybody my whole life has left me dead.
01:02:37My own real parents tried to kill me because of my vagina.
01:02:40Dawes tried to kill me, also probably because of my vagina.
01:02:43But I'm invincible.
01:02:45You're-
01:02:46Not worried.
01:02:47Say thing.
01:02:49I wanted to stay with you.
01:02:51Don't do that.
01:02:54I have worked so f***ing hard to be better.
01:02:58Liar!
01:02:58You f***ing fake.
01:03:00You don't give a f*** about who you exploit.
01:03:04Who you hurt.
01:03:06You just do whatever you want to do.
01:03:10You are not a good person.
01:03:16You're right.
01:03:18I've done a lot of things wrong in my life.
01:03:21And I took real hard to be a better person.
01:03:24But I'm not.
01:03:26I'm not a good person.
01:03:29Deep down.
01:03:31You're right.
01:03:33Yeah, I know I'm-
01:03:34You lost your ass for everything.
01:03:37You lost your ass for everything.
01:03:37What you did!
01:03:38That wouldn't happen to me.
01:03:40You lost your ass for everything.
01:03:43It.
01:03:48I'm sorry for everything.
01:03:54I saw those cops.
01:03:56To the camera.
01:03:57Find your way.
01:03:59And I laughed.
01:04:01Last chance.
01:04:02You need to say everything.
01:04:05Okay?
01:04:09Everything I've done.
01:04:16I laughed.
01:04:17You laughed.
01:04:19You laughed?
01:04:21You laughed at that lesbian freak show and their oriental mutt while the cops beat them in front of me?
01:04:28Say what you did!

01:04:37That's a wrap.
01:04:54Mia.
01:04:54That's a wrap.
01:05:09Mia?
01:05:17I think we'll have a...
01:05:38Just a closer walk
01:05:44with me.
