00:01Jack!
00:03Jack! Jack! Jack!
00:04Jack! Jack!
00:04But, well, trouble is what I do.
00:15Hello, I'm Troy Baker.
00:17I'm Cameron Grimes.
00:19I'm Frank Todaro. Hi, I'm Fred Tattishore.
00:21I'm Florian Clare, and I voice the character of Wanda Fuller.
00:25Tammy Tumbler.
00:26Cornelius Stilted.
00:27John Brown.
00:27I get to play Jack Pepper in the upcoming black-and-white first-person shooter.
00:32Mouse.
00:32Mouse Be Eye for Fire.
00:35Some falls don't begin in the sky.
00:38Mine started a few weeks back.
00:40The sky was just the exit wound.
00:43I'm Jack Pepper, and I've got some questions for you.
00:48No, you have some questions for me.
00:51Why don't you ask me the questions?
00:56Jack Pepper is the main protagonist, of course, in our story.
01:00You'll be playing as him throughout the game.
01:02He is an ex-war hero.
01:04He is an ex-cop.
01:07Now turned private eye for hire.
01:09And he has been tasked with solving not one, not two, but three cases that will throw him into the
01:16worst parts of Mouseburg.
01:18It didn't seem like much at first.
01:20Wasn't even sure it was a case.
01:22So, Tammy Tumbler is an intelligent and resourceful young mouse who works as a skilled mechanic and a tinkerer.
01:29This spikety crap breaks like it's on a schedule.
01:32She makes her money by operating a workshop called Tammy's Barons in the heart of Mouseburg.
01:38And this is where she gets to upgrade all of Jack's weapons.
01:42John Brown is a life-worn shrew and a titan of hard work.
01:47He hails from Shrew Thicket.
01:48And after leaving the town when it was destroyed, he picked up odd jobs as a cheeselegger, farmhand, before finally
01:56he settled down to open Little and Big.
01:59That was a shrew-sized bar in the heart of Mouseburg.
02:03Enough cheese for today.
02:04Cornelius Stilton is a jovial, upper-middle-class, former war commander.
02:09He's intelligent. He's calculating.
02:12Everything he does is very deliberate.
02:14So, naturally, he went into politics.
02:16Well, there's another issue I wanted to talk to you about.
02:20He's a crucial ally to Jack and provides essential information throughout the game.
02:23So, try to listen to the guy.
02:26So, Wanda Fuller is a mouse and a seasoned journalist.
02:29And she teams up with Jack Pepper throughout the game to work on its cases.
02:34Jack! Over here!
02:35She ultimately, I think, wants to help people.
02:38But this tough cynicism that she has going on is her way of navigating a world ruled by men.
02:45My son.
02:47Tell me you got something juicy, Jack.
02:49Otherwise, don't waste my ink.
02:51What is the inspiration for the voice of your character?
02:57The girl never tells.
02:58This is the fun of making games.
03:00As we all get to decide, as a team, what does this guy sound like?
03:05As we kind of got into talking about the character and talking about the story,
03:09we decided as a team that maybe he could be a little bit more down here.
03:13Maybe he could be that kind of grizzled guy that sounded like he ate too many cheese sticks.
03:18You know what I mean?
03:19So, my inspiration for Wanda was partly Deadpan, Sarcasm, Mella, Aubrey Plaza meets April from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles meets
03:29Newsies.
03:31Hold your whiskers, Jack.
03:32So, for Timmy Tumbler, when I first saw her, I immediately thought of Tony to Pony from An American Tale.
03:39Damn.
03:40Gotta whip up a new retro kablamma.
03:42So, I kind of took that voice, making it a little tomboyish, used my own vocal structure, and I felt
03:50like I just knew her.
03:51It's about gun tuning, dummy.
03:54I had thought of, like, maybe a more from New York kind of thing, you know, a little, like, the
03:59mayor.
04:01Or a World War I sort of veteran of the war, sipping his tea in the middle of the desert.
04:07You know, there's a little bit of that in there.
04:10A timid version of Frasier Crane at some point.
04:13Like, he's just sort of, like, putting on airs at times when, you know, like, he could still drink at
04:19a bar in Boston if he wants to.
04:20Ha, ha, ha! See, that's what I like about you, Jack.
04:24You always know when to make your move.
04:28Favorite line or dialogue?
04:30You know, I really don't want to give anything away because the story is so great.
04:34So, I'll just say my favorite is when Tammy says,
04:38Hiya, Jack!
04:40I can't answer that.
04:42I mean, I can tell you my second favorite, but it's that first right out of the gate, that whole
04:46interaction.
04:47Jack! Good to see you, buddy.
04:50Probably has to be, I got a recipe called perfect bag fondue.
04:55It'll make your whiskers curl.
04:57Of course, the multiple puns about cheese.
05:00Which, I've never heard so many cheese puns in my entire life.
05:05I can give you more than a crumb, Jack.
05:06I will say what comes to mind of my favorite, one of my favorite moments of working on this.
05:12Jack is prone to being a bit of a narrator.
05:17And in one of these many scenes where he is kind of narrating what he's doing, I thought it would
05:22be funny if maybe he was doing that live.
05:25And so we all decided as a team that we would have this narration be in real time.
05:33So if he walks in, you know, and says,
05:37From the moment I saw that dame, I knew I was in trouble.
05:45Everybody can hear him.
05:47And it's like, who are you talking to?
05:53I am so excited to be a part of this game.
05:56It is so fun.
05:57And it is so, so cool and nostalgic.
06:00And I'm thrilled for you all to be able to experience it.
06:03I seriously cannot wait for you guys to see what these wizards cooked up.
06:06I cannot wait for you to play Mouse P.I. for Hire when it drops like an anvil on your
06:10head April 16th.
06:12For PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X and S.
06:17So wishlist it.
06:20Might be worth a look. I don't know.
06:23All right, that's the shmeal. Get out of here.
06:25I got a case to crack.
06:29Ow.
06:36You, you, you.
06:39You, you.
