00:00Mayweather Pacquiao live in Vegas September 19th, the man Manny Pacquiao blesses the studio as well as CEO of Manny
00:08Pacquiao Promotions, Jazz Mather.
00:11Appreciate you guys coming in studio, hope you're enjoying New York City.
00:16Jazz, I'm going to start with you man because there are a lot of people, I guess worried because of
00:21a lot of the hype, a lot of the news coming out surrounding this fight that it may not happen.
00:28What would you say to those people?
00:30So as of now, the fight isn't canceled, it's contracted.
00:34As I've stated in multiple interviews over the past week, there's been many contracts that have been signed and, you
00:41know, not just one.
00:43Advances have been given, loans have been taken out against the purse, right, because this is a Netflix paper.
00:49So they're treating it as like a movie, a film contract rather than a typical fight contract, right?
00:54It's a typical fight contract. You can't get your advance.
00:56You're going to get a 10% or a 20% depending on the promoter.
00:59And who you're working with, then you get paid on fight night.
01:02In this case, it's a bit different because Netflix paper is a AAA paper and you can get cash against
01:07it.
01:08So whatever you want to call it, a loan, a cash advance, whatever you want to call it, he's taken
01:14money out against it.
01:16And it's with lawyers at the moment.
01:18He has a legal team that has got involved out of Los Angeles.
01:22They've reviewed everything.
01:23There's no real way out at all.
01:25Everything is intertwined together between all these contracts and, you know, collateralized against the loan and so on and so
01:32forth.
01:33Documents were notarized.
01:34We have text messages.
01:36We have all kinds of things.
01:37So it's not, you know, it's not like he didn't know what he was signing.
01:41He definitely knew what he was signing.
01:43He definitely knew what he was getting himself into.
01:45But what can I say?
01:47I mean, at some point, things just get real and it got real.
01:50So that's where we're at today.
01:52Well, consequences are real as well.
01:55Yes, absolutely.
01:55So what is the ramifications of him taking that money and then not honoring the contract?
02:00I mean, each party have their own damages, right?
02:03The production company that we're working with, Everwonder, will help put this together and have a great relationship with Netflix.
02:10They're one of the premier live sports partners for Netflix.
02:15They have their own claims and damages.
02:17We, you know, Manny Pacquiao and Manny Pacquiao Promotions have our own claims and damages, right?
02:22We're sitting in a lingo right now, not knowing if this man is going to step in the ring or
02:26he's not going to step in the ring.
02:27Clearly, he doesn't value anything that he signs.
02:31He's, you know, he loves to tell people don't do bad business.
02:34But this is like as high as it gets on the ladder of doing bad business.
02:40You know, now I have had my own personal dealings with him in the past.
02:43There's a lot of stuff that people don't know about and people, you know, have seen me with him for
02:49years and years and years.
02:50And I've brought him a lot of money.
02:53I've made him a lot of money.
02:54I have behind the scenes helped his management team in many things where he's got a lot of money where
03:01he doesn't even know that that money came through me.
03:03But he came through me.
03:04So I have been a massive benefit to his life, even in things not related to money.
03:10And this one here is, you know, I wanted to be away from that whole situation.
03:15I got myself out of it.
03:16I was with Manny.
03:18We're building a lot of things that I, unfortunately, Floyd was not the right partner and the right fit to
03:24do things with.
03:24And he just came back into my world and now he's doing something that's that's completely, you know, I mean,
03:33he's messing with with big corporations and things that he doesn't even realize the level of doors he can open
03:39with this opportunity or the level of doors he's going to permanently shut down because of his actions.
03:45Two part question here.
03:47Like, do you think that the reported news about his financial situation is a problem right now?
03:53And then the second part of that is how much was that advance?
03:56Can you give us a ballpark figure of that?
03:58So I can't give the exact figure, but it's an eight figure advance.
04:02It's a sizable advance.
04:05Look, his personal finances or his personal life and personal situation is not something I would ever want to talk
04:11about or even comment on.
04:13Um, that's, that's, that's, you know, that's out for speculation for everyone.
04:17And, um, and, uh, you know, I, I just, uh, that's something that we don't even want to, we don't
04:23want to consider.
04:23We're looking at from a professional standpoint.
04:26He went out.
04:27My problem in this right now is very simple.
04:29He went out and said, it's not the sphere.
04:31It is the sphere.
04:32It was always going to be the sphere.
04:34If, you know, we all questioned the reasoning behind the sphere as well in the beginning and we got the
04:39answer.
04:40And it's because Netflix wanted to put out an extravagant production.
04:44So, um, and his team, his current management team was at the sphere with us, with Netflix's team and Everwonder's
04:53team to do the complete sight check.
04:56So they were asking questions left and right.
04:59They were, they knew it was a professional fight that were there.
05:01And I'm talking about people, you know, one of the people that's been close to him for two decades and
05:06another person that's his new appointed manager.
05:08That was the, the actual one.
05:10And he, and he's, he knew, I mean, he's had the contract for three months, four months or whatever other
05:14ancillary problems Floyd has because of other people in his team and other unrelated issues.
05:20Quite frankly, neither Manny, neither myself nor anyone else involved in organizing or helping take this across the finish line.
05:27We don't care.
05:30September 19th, five months away.
05:33Is there a deadline that you guys have in your head or Netflix has in their head to where if
05:38papers aren't signed or things aren't agreed upon, then you're going to have to pivot and go to your plan
05:42B.
05:43Right. So, so before entering into this, right, I, because I knew I'm dealing with Floyd, I already had multiple
05:51pivot plans in place.
05:54Right. And we knew about this and Manny and I spoke about this before.
05:57Okay. Uh, this, his deadline right now per the notices that he's got is next week, Tuesday.
06:04Okay. Now, during this time, the lawyers are communicating.
06:07They understand that he does not want to create a bigger mess out of this and he wants to come
06:13to the table.
06:14So come to the table means negotiation, right?
06:17What does negotiation mean?
06:18He wants more than what's contracted in the agreement.
06:21Now, that's where all parties have to come to an agreement.
06:24We have to discuss and we have certain conditions and certain clauses in, in the deal that I negotiated for
06:31Manny.
06:32And, um, and, uh, was at the final stage of the negotiation, actually.
06:36And, um, you know, we're at that, we're at that point where it just has to make sense for everyone.
06:41Manny, I know you just want to step in the ring and fight, but there's, there a deadline in your
06:45head to where if the business side of it isn't taken care of or honored on Mayweather's side,
06:51that you're thinking, okay, guys, it's time to pivot.
06:54Let's go on to our plan B.
06:55Yes. Um, we're ready for that to proceed to plan B or plan C.
06:59Correct.
07:00That's, uh, our, uh, back.
07:04Yeah.
07:04How much do you want, I'll go right back to you, Jazz.
07:07How much do you want this fight?
07:10For me, I want this fight because, uh, the last time that we had, like, um, I'm not 100%
07:15conditioned because, uh, ready for the fight because I have, uh, injury, injury, shoulder.
07:19Okay.
07:20Shoulder injury, so, uh, that's why right after the fight, I'm, I go straight to the hospital and get operated.
07:28Do you feel like he's ducking you?
07:30Like, he may not be in as good a shape as you are right now?
07:34Ducking, talking about ducking since before the first fight.
07:39Hmm.
07:40Okay, Jazz, step right back in, man.
07:42No, I think, I think our, our focus is, our focus comes down to, our focus comes down to, uh,
07:49looking at this fight and trying to get this fight across the finish line.
07:53Um, is he scared?
07:54Is he, I mean, why would he, else would he make up trying to turn it into an exhibition?
07:57So, exhibition is completely off the table.
07:59He needs to, you know, if he wants to be, look, he claims he's TBE, all the guys around him
08:06that are on his payroll claim he's TBE, everyone claims he's TBE, right?
08:10But when you really look at it, the fans know Manny Pacquiao is an 8th division world champion.
08:15Floyd Mayweather is not, right?
08:18Um, Manny Pacquiao has certain accolades and achievements that other, uh, Floyd Mayweather doesn't.
08:24Now, Floyd Mayweather has an undefeated record, so does Rocky Marciano.
08:28Great.
08:29He's not unique in any form or manner, right?
08:32Running around and wearing 20 necklaces and talking about yourself all day doesn't make you unique in any form or
08:37manner either.
08:38So, you need the appreciation from the people.
08:41You need to be considered loved by the fans, right?
08:43The people's champ.
08:44So, right now, he's a real boxer.
08:46This whole money robbery thing with the exhibitions and what he got away with with Logan, which he still owes
08:51a million dollars to, by the way.
08:52That stuff needs to be, you know, he has to understand we're in a different time today.
08:57We're in a different era.
08:58And step up in the ring and honor your agree, honor your obligations.
09:02To close this thing out, Pac, there's, you got the one shot right there, one camera on you.
09:08If you could say something to Floyd right now, what would you say to him?
09:13Josh will say something.
09:16He says, I'm talking with the hands.
09:18I like it.
09:19Listen, listen, listen.
09:20What will I say to Floyd is man up.
09:25Be a man.
09:28Don't be a beep, you know.
09:31And get it.
09:33Don't be a cock.
09:34Yeah, don't be a chicken.
09:35Don't be a coward.
09:36Don't be a chicken.
09:37Don't be a coward.
09:38Be a man.
09:39Stop sitting down and throwing your problems on everybody else and blaming another individual or people for everything gone wrong
09:47in your life.
09:48I told you from the beginning, I warned you on a lot of things.
09:52I had your back on a million things.
09:54Now you have this opportunity.
09:57You're going to have either the right team and you're going to turn, you're going to become a billionaire off
10:01of this.
10:01Or you're going to listen to the wrong advisors again and you're going to be stuck in a holding pattern
10:09or you're going to hit your head in a wall.
10:10You have an option.
10:11Pick the right door, get it done, and build something big.
10:15I feel like I was in the meeting room and the ring with you guys just now.
10:20And I know Pac's ready to fight.
10:21September 19th at the Sphere in Vegas on Netflix for us.
10:26That's going to be watching at home and at the bars.
10:28Manny Pacquiao, Jazz, appreciate you guys coming into the studio.
