00:01Tortillas are for more than just tacos and burritos.
00:03Here are 15 mouth-watering ways
00:05to use the ever so versatile flour tortilla.
00:08I'm starting with the viral accordion style
00:10breakfast casserole.
00:11Of course, I saw this one on TikTok.
00:14I have yet to try it.
00:16Today's the day.
00:17Grease your casserole dish.
00:19You take the tortilla and you fold it up accordion style.
00:23Front, back, front, back, front.
00:30Okay, get it?
00:31And then you'll stack it all along your casserole dish.
00:35This is an eight inch tortilla
00:36which fits perfectly in a casserole dish like this.
00:39But you could also use smaller or larger
00:42based on what kind of pan you're using.
00:44So this is customizable.
00:45And this is the kind of breakfast casserole
00:47that doesn't have to soak overnight.
00:49It's very aesthetic, as my kids would say.
00:52I love that you use a complete pack of tortillas.
00:56Perfectly fills it up.
00:57Now it's about to get even cuter.
00:59You can take strips of bacon.
01:01You could do some ham.
01:02I saw someone do smoked sausage.
01:05And you kind of put it in the little creases of the tortilla.
01:10And then you know there's gonna be a little sausage in every bite.
01:12Plus you're kind of opening up the crevices a little bit
01:15to allow the cheese and the egg and all the goodness to get inside.
01:19All right, then I'm gonna put in some red bell pepper
01:22and a little bit of green onion.
01:25So sausage, peppers, and onions.
01:27It just all makes sense.
01:29And then feel free to kind of like give a little shake so that everything falls down a little bit.
01:34Load on the cheese.
01:36Okay, and then just like any other breakfast casserole, some egg.
01:40I've got six eggs and some half and half.
01:43Salt and pepper and a little hot sauce.
01:47Just whisk it up and pour it over.
01:49Perf.
01:50Give it one more little zhuzh just to be sure that egg creeps in between the layers.
01:55It can go straight into the oven.
01:57I'm going in 350 till browned and bubbly.
02:02Oh my gosh, this looks so good.
02:06She is cute.
02:08Egg has puffed up.
02:09See the little confetti of ingredients coming out?
02:12Then you want to let it sit for about five to ten minutes before digging in.
02:15I'm going to garnish with some of those green onions we saved from earlier.
02:19It's one of the fastest breakfast casseroles you can make.
02:21It's cute.
02:22Look at those layers.
02:23I feel like I'm on one little hot sauce.
02:26Cheers.
02:31Mm-hmm.
02:32Just like when you use flour tortillas to make enchiladas, they get a little bit soft
02:36and kind of creamy, but they really absorb all that flavor.
02:40Great hack, fun way to serve up a new breakfast casserole.
02:43We're off to a great start.
02:44This next one is the ultimate snack hack, the toaster dia.
02:49I did this a while back, and it just reminded me that I need to teach my kids
02:53how to make this because this is the perfect after-school snack or dinner they could make
02:58on their own, and it's better than grabbing a bag of chips out of the pantry.
03:02So start with your tortilla, and then down the middle section, you're going to spread on refried beans, or you
03:10could just do cheese, but in my house we like refried beans.
03:13I'm spreading it, but I'm leaving a space right here that's for the fold, which you'll see in a second.
03:19Of course, it's a blank canvas.
03:21You can do whatever you want.
03:21This is a great way to use up any leftovers.
03:23So I've got just some leftover shredded chicken, and if you use, like, the high-protein tortillas
03:28and do something like this, it's a really good, like, high-protein option.
03:33And my oldest daughter used to just throw some cheese on a tortilla and pop it in the microwave.
03:38She didn't care anything about crispiness.
03:39This gets you a little bit of everything, and just as easy, because sometimes you don't want your kids turning
03:44on the stove if you're not home.
03:46Then you just fold, fold, fold, and you've got this perfect little package ready for the toaster.
03:57I mean, whoever thought of this was just smart.
04:03Okay, then put it down in your toaster.
04:05Let the magic happen.
04:08Look at that.
04:13Toasty.
04:14Toaster-dia.
04:16Can't get that in the microwave, kids.
04:18So then you can cut it or just dig right in in your, like, handheld package.
04:24Let me show you what the inside looks like.
04:25I mean, look at that perfect quesadilla.
04:30And we all did it in the toaster in, like, less than five minutes.
04:33I'm sorry, but this is just so daggum smart.
04:40You're talking in just a couple minutes, you get a perfectly toasted quesadilla with melty cheese, warm chicken.
04:47Nothing was hot before it went in.
04:49This snack is a perfect tin.
04:51You got to try it.
04:53We're using tortillas to make dessert dumplings.
04:56For this, it is an apple dumpling.
04:58Could also be called apple enchiladas.
05:02I know they're not really enchiladas.
05:05So, very simple.
05:06We're going to use our tortilla kind of as our pie crust.
05:11We're going to fill it with apple pie filling, roll it up, and place it in your casserole dish.
05:15I love an easy dessert.
05:17You sprinkle with a little cinnamon.
05:19There's some in the pie filling, but if you want a little more.
05:21And then just roll it up and place it seam side down into your baking dish.
05:26Just fill it up.
05:28Then you just make some gooey deliciousness to pour over.
05:31This is some butter with white sugar, brown sugar, and a little water.
05:36And just bring that to a simmer and let it cook for about three minutes.
05:40Then you pour this deliciousness over.
05:43Then you sprinkle on a little more cinnamon.
05:45And then it goes into the oven, 350 degrees, for about 20 to 30 minutes.
05:50Oh, this smells divine.
05:54I feel like people at the table would be like, now that's smart.
05:57My first thought is this isn't going to be overly sweet, even though we poured a ton of sugar on
06:01it.
06:01If you started with a sweeter dough, it might be a little overwhelming.
06:05But the tortillas are going to be nice and even.
06:09You got to let it sit to come together.
06:13Let's dig in.
06:15Ooh, y'all, this is going to be good.
06:18Good, good.
06:19You know what has to go on top.
06:21Then you got to get some of that good stuff.
06:24This looks so good.
06:25I know I keep saying that, but it just does.
06:28Tortillas for dessert.
06:32Mmm.
06:33That's better than I thought it was going to be.
06:35It's almost a salty, sweet situation because the tortilla has absorbed a lot of that butter from our sauce that
06:42we made.
06:42So that's on the inside next to the apple.
06:46Then on the outside, it's toasted.
06:48So you have that, you know, slightly crunchy, soft, gooey, crispy.
06:55A lot of perfect bites right here.
06:56This is going to work with a lot of different fruit situations.
06:59So next time you're thinking of making a cobbler, maybe try rolling it up in a tortilla.
07:05When a Taco Bell Mexican pizza meets a quesadilla, you get this next dish.
07:10And we're calling it a tortilla-wrapped taco pizza.
07:13Just pay attention to the method because you can change up the fillings however you want to create a whole
07:18different dinner.
07:18So you start with a tortilla, cut it in half, and then take your taco filling.
07:24So I'm doing a taco pizza, obviously, but you could also fill this with chicken and pesto and cheese or
07:30marinara, whatever you want.
07:32So you just put some kind of in the center, put a little cheese on top, and then you fold
07:37it into a triangular shape, kind of like a cone.
07:41Okay, and then it's going to make all these shapes, and you put it down in a round pan so
07:49that you can really get that pizza effect.
07:52A perfect little pie.
07:53And then I'm going to top it with more cheese, like a pizza, plus it's going to kind of help
07:58hold all these together.
08:00Okay, and then obviously everything's cooked inside, so you're just wanting this to heat up and get all good and
08:05bubbly.
08:05So into the oven, 375.
08:07I said this when I did it for social video, this is not the same as a quesadilla.
08:12You're going to think it just looks like a quesadilla, but it's a completely different experience.
08:17Just, you'll wait and see.
08:19Less than 20 minutes, you have a perfect little pizza.
08:25Just like Taco Bell does, I'm going to top it with some diced tomatoes and a little green onion.
08:31I love the way I purposely got a little cheese on the outside, and I love the way it crisped
08:37up.
08:38Just another fun twist for your next Taco Tuesday.
08:41A little sour cream.
08:43And my favorite.
08:45Because it's a pizza, you can eat it with your hands.
08:53It is giving Taco Bell Mexican pizza in the best way possible.
08:57Let me tell you why this is smart.
08:59No, it's not a quesadilla.
09:01The cheese that you can get around the edge to form the crust, but also a little toasty on the
09:06bottom.
09:07Gooey and cheesy on the top and the inside.
09:11It's a perfect bite.
09:13Muffin tins aren't just for muffins.
09:14They are for making tortilla bowls and taco cups.
09:18This is one of the best little hacks.
09:20You know when you go to the Mexican restaurant and they serve the taco salads in the tortilla bowls?
09:26They're deep fried.
09:27Ain't nobody got time for that.
09:29And you can't really find them in the store.
09:31So we can make our own.
09:32Grab a tortilla.
09:33This is an eight inch.
09:34Give it a little spritz with some oil spray.
09:38Then place it in between four cups and kind of press it right on in.
09:44It'll take the shape of a little bowl.
09:46Give it another spritz.
09:48And then you pop it in the oven.
09:49It's so easy.
09:50And this is going to be healthier than a deep fried taco salad bowl.
09:54So that's going to give you your larger size tortilla bowl.
09:58For a smaller size, I call them taco cups.
10:00Same thing.
10:01Give it a spray.
10:02Place it down on a muffin cup.
10:05Another little spray.
10:06Then take a second muffin pan and put it right on top.
10:10Just give it a gentle press down to kind of help take the shape.
10:13And then you just bake them.
10:15350 or 375 for just about five to ten minutes.
10:19This is what they look like when they come out.
10:22The bowls.
10:24Toasted.
10:25It's okay that they're not fried.
10:27They're still crispy.
10:28You'll let them cool.
10:29They'll get even crispier.
10:30And then our cups.
10:32So cute.
10:33You can make a bunch of these in advance.
10:36And when you're ready, fill them up.
10:38However you like.
10:39Taco salads and taco cups.
10:42Pretty fun, huh?
10:43Obviously, TikTok has taught me so much.
10:45Now we have the ultimate breakfast burrito hack right here.
10:50This one makes sense for just a really fast, high protein breakfast that you can whip up.
10:57Start with a little butter.
10:59It's really sort of like a breakfast burrito meets an omelet.
11:02I'm going in with two eggs here.
11:05Season it.
11:06A little salt and pepper.
11:08Then just go ahead and put your tortilla right on top.
11:14Then the egg's going to cook.
11:17Every bite of tortilla is going to have egg on it.
11:19We'll flip it all at the same time.
11:21And it'll all be cooked through.
11:23Once you flip it over, you fill it however you want.
11:25So this is a fun thing to do with a variety of toppings.
11:28Or if you're just cleaning out the fridge.
11:30See?
11:31It's all cooked.
11:32Stuck on each other.
11:34Just give it a flip.
11:36I'm going to top it with some cheese.
11:39Kind of let that melt.
11:40Some sausage.
11:42And a little green onion.
11:43Now we just roll it up.
11:45You know that is a fun breakfast.
11:48Fun.
11:48Fast.
11:49Easy.
11:50It's got it all.
11:51Serve with a little salsa.
11:53Okay, I'll give it a taste for you.
11:59Mm-hmm.
12:01It's delicious.
12:02And I love that it's a thin layer of perfectly cooked egg.
12:05You're not getting a bunch of scrambled eggs falling out.
12:07It's not an overwhelming egg bite.
12:10It's a perfect bite.
12:12Tortillas turning into dessert again with a s'mores crunch wrap.
12:17I did these a while back and this is a genius way to enjoy s'mores.
12:21No campfire required.
12:23Plus, they're a little less messy because they're in this wrapped up little package here.
12:29It's one of those things that you're like, why haven't we thought of that before?
12:33Take your graham cracker.
12:35Place it down into a tortilla.
12:37Pile on the marshmallows.
12:38So this is called a s'mores crunch wrap because it's prepared the same way as the Taco Bell
12:45crunch wraps where you've got something gooey and crunchy inside wrapped in a tortilla.
12:49Then, get your chocolate.
12:53Place it right there.
12:55Followed by your other graham cracker and then you wrap it.
12:58And you've got to like just fold it over, keep going, keep going, keep going.
13:04And then we are going to cook them seam side down on a skillet.
13:09It's a good thing to do on your black stones outside this summer or you can just do a griddle.
13:14Everybody knows what's inside.
13:15It's like a little surprise.
13:16You could stop here, but for the ultimate s'mores crunch wrap experience, this is what you want to do.
13:24Brush them with a little butter and then take it and dip it in some cinnamon sugar.
13:29Then you get that little crunchy cinnamon sugar.
13:34Tell me that's how to really just turn something not so fancy into something incredible.
13:39Better than bakery right here.
13:41Y'all ready for one of the best bites you'll ever have?
13:43This right here is how you turn a tortilla into something you've never had before.
13:48Gooey, melty, crunchy, creamy, perfect bite.
13:58Mmm.
14:00It's s'mores meets churros in a perfect package.
14:04You're going to want to make this one.
14:06Like I said, you have seen crunch wrap casserole before, but if I'm doing a whole video on ways to
14:13use tortillas,
14:14this is one of the greatest ways, so it has to be included.
14:17Casserole dish, tortillas in.
14:20Make sure your casserole dish is buttered.
14:22Place down the large tortillas.
14:24You want to be sure the bottom is all covered, and let the excess hang over.
14:27We're going to flip it out, so whatever we put on the bottom is going to be the top.
14:31Cheese down first.
14:32This is a very hearty use of the humble tortilla.
14:37Perfect if you've got some hungry folks in your family, because it's easy, you can make it ahead,
14:42and it's delicious, because who doesn't love a crotch wrap?
14:44Then you're going to put on some cilantro, some tomato.
14:48I'm just building it the same way the Taco Bell crunch wrap is.
14:52Then you take some sour cream, just kind of spread it lightly around.
14:58Crunch to the crunch wrap are tostadas.
15:01Layer them on.
15:02The little nacho cheese, and then your taco meat.
15:06One more tortilla, and you fold over the edges.
15:10Don't worry about what it looks like, because like I said, this is going to be the bottom.
15:14Brush over some more butter, and then pop it in the oven.
15:17It's going to get toasty on the outside, and this butter is going to help it all stick together and
15:22get good and crispy.
15:23Just go straight into the oven, 375 for about half an hour.
15:26The mighty crunch wrap, flip it right onto a board.
15:34Yeah, and I made this, I called it the casserole you can eat with your hands,
15:38because you can't do that with a lot of casseroles, but this one, yes you can.
15:43This, my friends, is what it's all about.
15:45Of course, you can top it however you want.
15:48Trust me, the tortillas were made for this dish.
15:55Mm-hmm.
15:57Mm.
15:58I forgot how good that is.
16:00Crunchy and creamy.
16:02Perfection.
16:03Two ingredients, let's make mozzarella sticks.
16:06Air-fried mozzarella sticks wrapped in tortillas.
16:10Never done this before, but it just makes sense.
16:14String cheese in a tortilla.
16:17Roll it up like a burrito.
16:21Looks like a cigar.
16:22Then we're just going to coat them in olive oil and pop them in the air fryer.
16:26This, if it works and is delicious, is a whole lot easier and less messy than breading and frying.
16:34And if it satisfies that kind of fried, salty, cheesy craving, I will be doing this again.
16:41Ooh, I bet you could use the high-protein tortillas for this and make it a high-protein snack.
16:46They might want to keep coming unopened.
16:49If it creeps open, you can always secure it with a little toothpick.
16:53All right, and once you have them rolled up, you're going to coat them with some olive oil.
16:57Be a little bit generous here.
16:59And then sprinkle with some garlic powder.
17:01That's going to give it the Italian flair to change this from quesadilla vibes to cheese steak vibes.
17:06Be sure to coat them on all sides.
17:09All right, then you're going to place them seam side down in the air fryer at 400 degrees.
17:16Starting to ooze a little bit.
17:17There's still plenty inside.
17:19They are crunchy.
17:20I can hear it.
17:21If you put the toothpick in, don't forget to take it out.
17:24Hit them with a little dried parsley, and they are just the perfect little party appetizer.
17:30But can I trick my brain to thinking this is a real indulgent treat, Italian treat?
17:36Let's see.
17:43That's delicious.
17:44I was a little worried that it was going to be too much like a quesadilla.
17:47But between the garlic powder, crispy coating, and the marinara dip, definitely satisfies the craving.
17:52And I can feel better about this one.
17:54I'm also going to double dip because it's just for me.
17:57While we have the air fryer out, we're going to the next perfect use for a tortilla to make pizza.
18:04Tortilla as a pizza crust is just genius because it gets so crispy, especially when you make it in the
18:09air fryer.
18:10And this is another thing you need to teach your kids because it makes for a great after-school snack.
18:15Spray the air fryer.
18:17That'll help get the bottom crispy.
18:19Place your tortilla down.
18:21I'm just going to build it right in the air fryer instead of building it and then moving it in,
18:24but you could do either one.
18:25A little sauce.
18:27A little cheese.
18:28And I love a crispy crust on a pizza.
18:31This definitely hits.
18:33Down we go.
18:35Look at that cute pizza.
18:37Now we're talking.
18:39In order for it to be really crispy, you've got to go light on the sauce.
18:42But look at this.
18:44It's not bad.
18:46It's all about the crust for me.
18:48And because it's not too bready, you get the perfect ratio of meat to sauce to cheese.
18:53Perfect.
18:59Next time the pizza craving hits, skip delivery and just pull out the tortillas.
19:03When it comes to egg rolls, skip the wrapper and use a tortilla.
19:07Copycat Chili's Southwest Egg Rolls.
19:10But really you could put whatever filling you're feeling.
19:13Take a tortilla and roll it up.
19:16Just like you would an egg roll.
19:18And then you want to secure it because I am going to deep fry these with a toothpick.
19:22Just like so.
19:24Cute little egg rolls right here.
19:26Like I said, these are the Copycat Chili's Southwestern Egg Rolls.
19:29So in this filling is chicken, black beans, corn, cilantro, and of course cheese.
19:36What's great about this, when you're using a tortilla, you can roll these ahead of time.
19:40You can even keep these in the freezer until you're ready to go.
19:43Then they're ready for whenever you're ready to have a party.
19:46Now we fry.
19:47And you could just put these in the air fryer as well.
19:50Just spray them with a little oil, cook them until crispy.
19:52This is a time when breaking out the deep fryer or the pan of oil is completely worth it.
19:57Look at those.
19:57Let's see what we got inside.
20:00Just like they do in the restaurant.
20:03They get so crispy and crunchy when tortillas are fried.
20:07A little duck.
20:13No matter what you put inside, you should definitely use the tortillas as a wrapper.
20:17Everyone loves a good wrap.
20:19Now I'm showing you the sandwich wrap hack.
20:22Basically with this, you are building your sandwich in sections, folding it over, and then it's a little less cumbersome
20:31than having a big round wrap that you can't hardly get your mouth over.
20:35It kind of folds and then it sits more like a sandwich.
20:37So you take your tortilla and you cut it from the center down.
20:42Then you start building your sandwich.
20:45So I'm going to do an Italian style sandwich.
20:48So I'm going to put a little provolone, a little turkey down on one section.
20:53I'm going to do some arugula, some red peppers, some more cheese, some salami, maybe a little mayo down.
21:01This is another very aesthetic situation.
21:04And then you fold.
21:08One, two, three.
21:12You haven't had a wrap like that before.
21:14That is definitely more manageable than those big round ones.
21:18And also all the toppings fall out when you go take a bite.
21:21Italian sub turned wrap, just like that.
21:26This is an A plus and I'll definitely be doing this one again.
21:29This is your sign to use tortillas for lasagna layers.
21:34I'm showing you the technique by making creamy Mississippi chicken enchiladas.
21:38Yes, just enchiladas.
21:40Typically when I do this type of casserole, I put the filling in here, roll it up multiple times.
21:45This is easier.
21:47Just take your tortillas.
21:48I like to cut them.
21:50Then grab your casserole dish.
21:53All right.
21:53P.S. This recipe will be linked in this video.
21:56You need to make it.
21:57Put a little bit of your creamy Mississippi chicken filling down on the bottom.
22:02Place your tortillas down.
22:04I like when I cut them, they have a straight side so it goes straight against your casserole dish.
22:09I make the filling in a slow cooker.
22:11It's just chicken, a packet of ranch dressing, some pepperoncinis, a little butter, and then some cream cheese.
22:17Normally you have to spoon the filling, put more cheese in, roll it up, and repeat the process.
22:21This is so much faster.
22:23All right. And then one more top layer.
22:24So easy.
22:25Pour on a little heavy cream because we're healthy.
22:29More cheese and then into the oven until browned and moly.
22:32It's baked up perfectly.
22:34Now you can just dish it out.
22:35Layer it up and loving it.
22:37Look at that.
22:38But how does it taste?
22:45The flavors absorb into the layers just as if they were rolled up.
22:48It's a no brainer that tortillas are a great ingredient to add to your casseroles.
22:53I feel almost 100% certain you have used a tortilla for this next one.
22:57Party pinwheels.
22:58Because why not?
22:59What's great about using a tortilla for something like this is they're inexpensive and you can get a lot of
23:04pieces from one.
23:06And the flavor combinations are endless.
23:08For this one I'm doing a turkey bacon cheddar ranch pinwheel.
23:13Of course you can just do them as roll ups and eat them as a sandwich.
23:16But pinwheels are more fun.
23:18Great for a party but also great to add to your kids lunches.
23:22This first layer is just a mixture of ranch seasoning with cream cheese.
23:26Then goes on the cheddar.
23:27I think the pro move here is if you are having a party to do these in advance.
23:31You can roll these up, keep them in the fridge.
23:33Sometimes they even get better like that and then they're easy to slice.
23:37And you can just slice and serve when the time comes.
23:39Another hack with this one, just use store bought cooked bacon.
23:44These are a lot cheaper and better to make at home versus buying them from the store deli.
23:49And then you just roll.
23:50A little tip is whatever you're using as your spread will also become the glue that seals it together.
23:57So be sure and go all the way to the edge with just the spread but not the filling.
24:03So then when you get to the edge, this last little part will stick to the tortilla and hold it
24:09together.
24:10Takes no time.
24:11This is a no cook appetizer.
24:13Definitely something you should break out at your next party.
24:15Then when you cut it, you get the cute little pinwheel.
24:18A platter fit for a party right here.
24:21Just a few simple sandwiches can turn into pinwheels and every one is, you guessed it, the perfect bite.
24:27Captain Obvious reporting for the final use of the tortilla chips.
24:32It's not tacos or burritos, but it's also not corn tortillas.
24:35We know you can make chips with corn tortillas and of course those are extra delicious.
24:40But you can also, if this is what you have, make delicious tortilla chips.
24:44Both sweet and savory.
24:46Just take your tortilla, cut it up into six or eight pieces and then fry them up.
24:53You can also, like we did back in the 90s, coat these with some oil and just bake them in
24:59the oven for a healthier tortilla chip.
25:02That was before air fryers were available, but these would also be great in the air fryer.
25:06I'm going to go classic, but I am going to show you how to serve them up, both sweet and
25:11savory.
25:12Of course, this happens fast.
25:14These take no time at all.
25:16And as soon as they come out, season them.
25:19For savory, just a simple salt sprinkle will do.
25:22Crispy, salty perfection tortilla chips.
25:25If you want to go sweet, when they come out of the oil, toss them with a little cinnamon sugar
25:30and you get churro style chips.
25:33This might be the best way to go.
25:34For the savory chips, obviously salsa.
25:37And for the sweet, I've got some cream cheese fruit dip and I'm just going to top it with some
25:41strawberries and kiwi.
25:43And you have the most fun snack, appetizer or dessert.
25:48One of each.
25:53Just to show you, it gets good and crispy.
25:57When you make them with flour tortillas, they're more substantial and a little more filling.
26:01So you probably wouldn't eat as much as if you were sitting there with the corn tortilla chips.
26:05At least I wouldn't.
26:06But this right here is the way to go.
26:09Fried, tossed with cinnamon sugar.
26:11A little swim in that fruit salsa.
26:17Mm-hmm.
26:18That cinnamon sugar gives it extra crunch.
26:20I'm telling you this right here.
26:21It's a 20 out of 10.
26:24Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snacks.
26:27I covered it all.
26:28I've definitely proven that you can use tortillas for way more than tacos and burritos.
26:33I'm going to take this one home.
