00:00New York City's Socialist Mayor Zoram Mamdani will mark his 100th day in office tomorrow.
00:05Considering the Big Apple is the nation's most populous city,
00:07it's being viewed nationally as a sort of test case for the success or lack thereof
00:12of super left-leaning leadership ahead of the midterms.
00:15So how are things going?
00:17The Post is taking a deep dive on that today, but here are some of the top lines.
00:21Mamdani ran and won on a message of affordability.
00:24And while not everything can be solved in 100 days,
00:27critics say his slow start is concerning.
00:29He promised free child care to every New Yorker from six months to five years old,
00:33and so far has piloted a program for 2,000 two-year-olds,
00:38with the Empire State promising to chip in to fund an expansion to 12,000 next year.
00:43On the housing front, which I can tell you is as brutal as ever right now,
00:48Mamdani promised to immediately freeze rent for stabilized apartments.
00:52Those were his words.
00:53There has been no movement, though, in 100 days.
00:56Free buses were also promised during the campaign,
00:59but this week, Mamdani admitted that that's just not going to happen this year.
01:03Instead, he's working with the state to launch a significantly pared-down pilot program
01:07in the future.
01:09Like I said, this is just scratching the surface of the Post's overall coverage
01:12of Mayor Mamdani's first 100 days,
01:14so be sure to check out nypost.com for more.
