00:00I'm torn by asking what might sound like an insensitive question.
00:04I guarantee you it's not.
00:06But should investors start moving away from being solely focused on what's going on in the Middle East?
00:17Well, I mean, it's difficult, I think, to move away from that because these are the headlines that you see
00:23every day.
00:24So I think that the way I would approach it is while you have an eye on what's happening globally,
00:31and obviously that's giving a lot of fluctuations to the market,
00:34you also have to try to look beyond that and position for the future as well.
00:38So I think that's why these times are tricky but also can be quite interesting from an opportunity perspective
00:44because you can capitalize on some of the nearer term volatility to also pick up some gems over the longer
00:50term.
00:50There are some thematics, I do think, that still will stand out to be winners over the longer term.
00:56You touched on tech earlier as well in this session.
00:59I think that that could also be interesting even in this current correction.
01:04So the price action that we're seeing, do you think this just really comes down to momentum strategies, algos, really?
01:12I mean, do you see any sort of fundamental sort of signs of a beginning of something that is enduring?
01:22Yes, I think absolutely.
01:24I mean, if we think about how we started of the year, one of the key things that many of
01:29us, I would say,
01:30from an investor standpoint have had to relook would be our stance on energy.
01:35So if we go back to January, most people were thinking about or discussing perhaps oil prices hitting 50.
01:41But you look at where we are right now, you would have taken positions on the back of that January
01:46position.
01:47You would have thought of how inflation would be, rates, etc.
01:52Many of us are having to relook that going forward because, like it or not, even with a ceasefire,
01:57I do think that you can't unwind some of the things that have happened.
02:02We would have to get comfortable with the fact that oil prices, even if they come off from here with
02:07any peace,
02:08will likely land a bit higher than they were pre-conflict.
02:11So you have to adjust your positioning on the back of that as well.
02:14And then inflation and growth, etc., etc.
02:16you are on the back of that.
02:16It is central to the side of the side of the side of the side of the side of the
02:17side of the side.
02:17And then when I say, you know, the world is not the place of changing history,
