00:06We're very happy to have finished it.
00:08Inside.
00:09Your house is great.
00:13To finish the whole interior of the home is massive.
00:21I built a house.
00:22I built a house.
00:23I built a home.
00:24It blows my mind.
00:25Alright, back in the beginning.
00:27Did it, did it, did it, did it, did it, did it.
00:30Robbie came up with a crazy idea that would set house five apart.
00:35When I heard about all the houses being the same,
00:37I thought, you know what, Matt?
00:38Call me crazy, but I want to...
00:40You're crazy.
00:41I want to dig a wine cellar.
00:42You want to dig a cellar?
00:44I want to put a cellar in.
00:45That would be a game changer, right?
00:47It is.
00:48Wouldn't even know it was there until you walked
00:49and opened the door and went down.
00:51Don't waste my time.
00:53So while this week, the first week outside,
00:57is officially known as our fresco and shed week,
01:00for Matt and Robbie, it's also wine cellar week.
01:04Woo-wee!
01:05We've been speaking about this wine cellar for ten weeks.
01:08If we don't deliver,
01:09we're going to look like the biggest idiots on the street.
01:12And for Britt and Taz,
01:14it might be a week they'd rather forget.
01:16The fence is going up.
01:18The fence is going up.
01:19Not a moment too soon.
01:20Bye.
01:21Hello.
01:22At dinner,
01:23the topic of conversation is not Britt and Taz,
01:26it's the fact that they've worked forward.
01:28They're cops.
01:29They should know to break the rules to get penalised.
01:31Are we taking it to them and calling a body court?
01:34Or are we just letting it slide?
01:36It's not sometimes what you say.
01:39For me, it's how you say it.
01:41It's pretty good.
01:42Sorry, but that's amazing.
01:44Yeah.
01:45Be kind.
01:46Be kind about it.
01:47Oh, Taz, I can't deal with it much more.
01:49Oh, look at the kangaroos over there.
01:52There's like a little baby one and two big ones.
01:54How are you feeling this morning?
01:55I'm feeling good.
01:56I'm excited.
01:57We're outside.
01:58Oh, look at the kangaroos over there.
01:59There's like a little baby one and two big ones.
02:00How are you feeling this morning?
02:01I'm feeling good.
02:02I'm excited.
02:03We're outside.
02:04Oh, look at the kangaroos over there.
02:05There's like a little baby one and two big ones.
02:06How are you feeling this morning?
02:07I'm feeling good.
02:08I'm excited.
02:09We're outside.
02:10Each house has, on average, 1,800 square metres in play over the next three weeks, which
02:29is broken down into three zones.
02:32Due this Sunday is the 47 square metre Alfresco deck, which is almost as big as the kitchen,
02:38living and dining rooms combined.
02:40And the 34 square metre Stratco shed, which the blockheads can get creative with if they
02:46want.
02:47This week, we are into the outdoor areas.
02:51We're looking forward to it.
02:52I think there's like, there'll be work into it, but you know, it could be a cruisy week.
02:57No.
02:58We've just come off five.
03:00There's never a cruisy week.
03:01We've just come off five rooms in one.
03:04Last night, the judges marked the rooms in the back of the house, which included the pantry,
03:08laundry, mud room, powder room, and the garage.
03:12The winner, week nine on the block is...
03:15Brent Taz.
03:16Oh!
03:19Oh, Ken!
03:21The reaction after we won was pretty muted, to be fair.
03:28I thought it might have been our night.
03:31Turns out it wasn't.
03:36On that note, it's time for the open for inspections.
03:39Come onto my house and my house, I'm gonna keep you again.
03:42It's Monday, and it's our favourite time of the week.
03:45The domain walk around.
03:46I'm gonna keep you happy little plum, and I ain't forgot I do it.
03:50Come onto my house, come onto my house, come onto my house.
03:53Oh, I love it.
03:54Come onto my house, come onto my house, come onto my house.
03:56Great room.
03:57Great cabinetry.
03:58Great cabinetry.
03:59Freedom has done unreal here.
04:00Yeah.
04:01How the hell?
04:02And they got railed for this.
04:03I just don't get this.
04:05There's not two separate areas, I guess.
04:08Doesn't feel like a pantry, doesn't feel like a laundry.
04:11Let's look at the powder room.
04:12That is so sick.
04:13Glamour.
04:14Beautiful.
04:15She's very artistic.
04:16I love it.
04:17Ten, ten, ten.
04:18Come onto my house, my house, I'm gonna give you Christmas to you.
04:19Come onto my house, my house, come on.
04:20Come onto my house, my house, come on.
04:21But that's clever gear there.
04:22Serious cleaning enthusiasts.
04:23That's cool.
04:24Alright, shall we go inside?
04:25Come onto my house, my house, I'm gonna give you Christmas to you.
04:28Come onto my house, my house, I'm gonna give you Christmas to you.
04:29Come onto my house, my house, I'm gonna give you Christmas to you.
04:33But that's clever gear there.
04:34Serious cleaning enthusiasts.
04:35That's cool.
04:36Alright, shall we go inside?
04:37Come onto my house, my house, I'm gonna give you Christmas to you.
04:41Nice!
04:42It's good.
04:43Oh, I really like things.
04:44What about that, huh?
04:45It's nice Google Lens.
04:46Google Lens, that?
04:47Google Lens, that.
04:48Ah, freedom.
04:49How good's that?
04:50Grab the kettle.
04:53May the prayers.
04:55in third place on 26 and a half points was sunny and alicia they finished things really beautifully
05:12they've done a fantastic job and i think they've built a very saleable home they're just never the
05:17best of the day difficult oh i do like the hooks the tiles i love it i think that's a dryer no way
05:30it's on the laundry side oh that's cool yeah that stone is breathtaking this is my favorite powder
05:38room oh that is so nice i feel like sunny and lisa getting better and better each week yeah
05:45oh just this layout it's just weird
05:54so you've got two sinks sort of like right next to each other but not next to each other
05:57and one side you're doing your dirty clothes the other side doing your dirty dishes
06:01i just found it weird i don't know why two sinks are right next to each other it's just weird make
06:05a bigger sink yeah it was a little bit weird just look at this and then you look at that and it's
06:14like totally totally different totally different areas i don't know that that continuity is just
06:18not there i don't know blue kitchen and then you got a wood kitchen with pinks it sounds a good thing
06:24how we tiled the whole house because see i find like that looks weird having like wood and then to tile
06:30i thought it was really really odd so weird so weird
06:48britain taz took home the win with a score of 28. blows my mind the quality and energy and love that
06:55they put into this and despite having some unfinished painting shana scored them a perfect 10. 10 000
07:01bucks from mg and a 10 10 000 big bickies from arnott's as well
07:09this is nice this is really good oh look at that painting
07:13the painting is terrible yeah this is a bad painting that's it the painting is dog
07:22how did this get called sexy like look at this come in here step in here now look this is sexy
07:31we're a little bit devastated with the results we were half a point away from winning this is a 10.
07:37it can't be a 10 mate it cannot be a 10. to me a 10 is a room that's perfectly executed
07:44not just designed well but like finished finished can't be a 10. well it is it can't be well it is
07:53because they got one this is the same layer as ours just this cabinetry here
07:58i think based on the judges feedback last night we were expecting something show-stopping and i think
08:09when you're told something's going to be something that's built up as as a 10 and all these amazing
08:14things you walk in with this high expectation and then you're a little bit it's not 10. oh they've got
08:22the same backing as us and look at how it's finished are you kidding me if i walked through
08:29on first instance and i had to guess who was the winner i wouldn't guess brit and taz were winning
08:33that week no there's no way you'd finish that and think you're going to get a 10 or a walk
08:39look look at the film on there i just don't think you need a 10 for an unfinished room you can't be
08:43that blinded by how beautiful it is that you don't see all over the walls that is a complete
08:52joke joke
09:04coming in second place on 27 and a half points pan and can went all in on their spaces in the hopes
09:11to secure some much-needed extra cash they've bitten off a lot and they've chewed like hell yeah and
09:19this is a really beautiful result oh this is nice oh how neat and tight is this
09:29i like the hand basin a lot i like everything a lot this is really really really good and really
09:35high standard see i feel like this is worth a 10 compared to brit and taz's oh
09:42love this is beautiful yeah this is really cool like their tiles yeah stone high gloss bright white
09:53gosh i reckon i reckon the girls robbed they should have got a 10. they should have got more
09:59than 110 yeah if brit and taz got a 10. their execution was phenomenal was phenomenal the amount of detail
10:06and work that those girls put into their spaces was next level next door is not better than this no
10:12there's no way no
10:18and they're the ones we're going to hear yeah these are our tools as well in the fall yeah
10:23turning into the girls it's a little layout it's exactly the same exactly yeah layout's the same
10:28but we've obviously i think we've pushed out back we pushed out back to small to make the
10:33the powder room smaller and that means we're gonna have extra cabinetry extra cabinetry here yeah
10:38can i just like interject so there was no negative feedback except for not having a
10:43fridge in the butler's pantry and a little fluffy mat that was on the floor and they didn't do the
10:51floor plan change that we did in terms of changing the window to a door i feel like
10:58because i got the door there then i sacrificed a little bit of extra space like i feel like ours feels
11:03a lot bigger oh opinions yeah yeah everyone's got them
11:12whoa what a cool space their garage was next level what i mean look at all the storage it's unreal
11:24feels like a barber shop it does look like a barber shop doesn't it pretty showy isn't it
11:30i think they put a fridge in here too and the microwave to be honest i don't know how they can
11:35do it mate the girls got ripped where's their tents the girls deserved a tent it's a unanimous decision
11:43from every single person besides britain tas that the girls should have won oh whoa nice far out
11:52bougie it was a bougie garage but you'd have some ribbons covers on the back there was not enough space
11:57these cars are small the size of stars and i feel like once that garage door's in it comes in on
12:02the inside so you have to take a couple of mills for that garage door so right now the garage door
12:07is not going to be able to shut it's not and if they move the car back anymore you're losing all
12:12this cabinetry here you couldn't park a four-wheel drive in there yeah there's no way that you know
12:17sweet is better than that nah
12:18i feel like they were robbed because shana had an emotional connection in a room that wasn't
12:26finished you got ripped off
12:32i think they thought that you should have got the 10.
12:34it was pretty good sorry amazing yeah and it's finished it's like oh that was a bit rude there's
12:42no way that that's not a 10. oh taz i can't deal with it much more
12:50the hard part is just if we were in their situation i don't think we'd be acting the same way
12:54no and that's what annoys us the most yeah
13:02photo's cool house one that's your graphic i'm in yeah yeah that's mine i love it oh
13:11it's finished beautifully it doesn't matter how how hard you try you just lose you know what
13:16your mistake was trying you painted too nice
13:25we've definitely disagreed with the judges when they picked winners and losers absolutely
13:31but we're not throwing it down people's throats you should have just done one coat
13:36it would have been sweet she just slapped it on the wall it's not sometimes what you say it's for me
13:42it's how you say it like you can be honest with your opinion and your feedback but deliver it in
13:47the right way be kind be kind about it
13:56i can feel the heat i can feel the heat
13:59al fresco means in the open air and in terms of our five houses it's a fancy way of saying the back
14:06deck but it's a crucial part of the indoor outdoor connection of the house and so getting
14:11this right is key
14:16so budget is twenty thousand dollars for this week so we need to present al fresco
14:23stratco shed and that's it so we're turning our stratco shed into half garden shed tool
14:32workshop and then we'd change the other half into a fully stacked loaded gym what are you doing
14:38doing cows and things you don't even go to the gym so is that like improvisation oh yeah yeah
14:46so then we are also presenting our al fresco slash deck
14:53the dining table will go in the middle of house five's al fresco
14:57with a barbie built into a gold flecked granite bench and there will also be an informal sitting area
15:02but we are doing more
15:08come on matt let's go have a squeeze we're doing our underground wine cellar which is going to be
15:14epic wow
15:16this is cycle
15:22robbie and matt's highly anticipated wine cellar is underneath their al fresco deck and will feature
15:28a rustic floor of caramel tone thin cut prints wallpaper designed by robbie floor-to-ceiling wine
15:35storage on one wall a gagging hour wine fridge and a christian cold table with fast stools down the
15:41center we've been speaking about this wine cellar for 10 weeks if we don't deliver we're going to
15:47look like the biggest idiots on the street so it's all or nothing let's get it it being the seller
15:59house three britain taz's fence is going in
16:05which might come in handy as the once friendly neighborhood enters the final weeks of the
16:10competition the fence is going up the fence is going up not a moment too soon are you kidding
16:21bye bye
16:27so what are you doing this week what's al fresco it's going to be like the deck and barbecue whatever
16:32you're putting on it and then the shot crochet and is that in your backyard or front yard well we got
16:38in trouble for working ahead what's going on next door what's going on next door which house house
16:46three house three we're working ahead
16:51the only thing we're allowed to work ahead and is landscaping it's not landscaping it's a back deck
16:56so fresh here no one can work on here for a day we have to shut it shut you down out here full day
17:05you can't work on the deck
17:09you know apparently it's not your landscaping so we're not allowed to work on our deck today
17:15oh it's just it's just frustrating but you know what i was like the competitive side of me comes out
17:19i was like troy hey troy can i give you a mission can we be done with the deck by like tuesday wednesday
17:26just to put like a bit of a stand no we'll be finished that deck so we got we can't work today
17:30so i want to be finished i'll be finished sitting on my deck with my chair you'll be finished tomorrow
17:34brett just wants to warm paper i do yeah it's good no fair enough too hold me back and it's fine
17:41troy loves a good challenge we'll see if he can do it who do you think is your competition this week
17:46this week it's going to be the boys the boys they're producing their underground wine cellar
17:50this week so i'm sick of them talking about it so we're just throwing everything at it because
17:54i want to rival them yeah you know they they've got no competition they reckon this week we want
17:58to give them a run for that money we want to really try to give them a run
18:04so they landed on a tempanyaki bar with barbecue and pizza oven and a neighboring dining table
18:10and how do you compete with an underground wine cellar you transform half your shed into a
18:15speakeasy wine bar complete with skylight's barrel tables on floorboards and dark walls
18:22you've got to sit in there and have a drink and look out at a view which is going to be pretty special
18:28and the other half of the shed will remain a shed
18:32the installation of the shed is vital because we need a jib rocket we need to plaster it so but you
18:38can't just plaster over um true core in the shed because if it's condensation the plaster will just
18:44deteriorate so when it ends life it's a idea so i keep saying it's a shed make it a shed
18:53stop trying to make it something else because it's a shed is it a bit of overkill for a shed
19:00it's definitely out there it's a 2 000 square meter block of land and no one's actually making
19:05a shed six grand on plaster it's a sheeting trail seems pretty dumb to me but anyway if you've got
19:12britney's bar no the shed's not just going to be a shed the shed is staying a shed
19:21so the shed has to be a non-habitable room which means that you can't encourage anyone to sleep in
19:27there so for us we think with the size of the land that the house is on we'd be mad to turn it into
19:35anything else because you're going to need all your shed equipment for your gardening for your lawns
19:41have we made movement on what we're putting in the shed yeah you need a mower with a snipper i'll go
19:48speak to knotley yep there's gonna be an area down there for tools mowers etc whatever it is that you
19:55you want to do in there you can use that as an actual shed yeah so the strikeout will come out
20:01here and then we've got decking over all that yeah brick barbecue down there with either the stone on
20:06concrete bench top house four's alfresco will include a louvered roof over outdoor dining coffee
20:15table and a barbecue zone built using the same little hampton bricks featured on the exterior
20:25while houses two to five are all building their alfresco areas on concrete slabs house one have
20:31the unique feature of elevation meaning they are the only house apart from three with a completed
20:37deck subframe the selling point of this house is the elevation so the plan is we're getting a big steel
20:44um planner that's going to come up about 1.3 meters it'll plonk right about here sit up about that high
20:52emma and ben plan to present their landings this sunday which will double the size of the alfresco
21:00area they'll have an outdoor kitchen complete with barbecue pizza oven fridge and sink plus a dining and
21:07lounge area which will have the unique option of being fully enclosed by the home pro outdoor blinds
21:13which emma and ben won in the week four challenge then the stratco shed they're also dividing it into
21:26two sections and making a tool shed oh and a golf simulator i reckon it's not too niche and then
21:36again also something that make the back of this shed a bit more fun are you a golfer i play occasionally
21:42i'm not very good how are you feeling today oh i'm like a solid loser that's how i'm feeling today
21:55why because we lost and it sucks and we literally have like no money so i just don't even know how
22:04we're gonna pull off the next three weeks we're about 15 in the room at the moment
22:13it is super surprising how expensive it is to build a home with kerbs the biggest expenditure for us
22:18is plastering carpentry carpentry and tiling we have had extra expenditure in the way of doing venetian
22:28plastering we've had extra costs in terms of doing a translucent resin bathtub and basins we have
22:34chosen to redesign the layout of the laundry mudroom pantry to make it more functional in our eyes
22:41these are all little things that have added up to costing more than the budget and costing more than
22:49our winnings it's just like at what point do we get more strategic and like do we go for combat like
22:55it's 20 grand up for grabs this week you all went way over my budgets so this week nobody is winning
23:05the common bank award so next week is worth twenty thousand dollars we need 20 grand we need more
23:14than 20 grand we need 50 grand we're jostling with our values and our nature it's like yeah we want to
23:21do something cool in the shed obviously no we don't it's just shed who gives a and then there you go
23:28you know what i mean one half of me really wants to just go with the original idea um and we don't have
23:36the money i want your money honey i want your love the original idea hand is keen to stick with is pretty
23:45ambitious it will feature a built-in barbecue dining table and lounge with a stream running off the
23:51alfresco into a lagoon in the backyard the stratco shed will be divided into two with an art studio and
24:02greenhouse under skylights on one side and due to their budget woes the other side of the girls shed will be
24:08well empty
24:18you
