00:01Ruth Lehman lodged this application in the second day of January this year and he had
00:10hoped the High Court would consider an application which sought to turn aside the two federal
00:19court rulings that had gone against him, the first one with Justice Michael Lee and the
00:24second one that underlined Justice Lee's ruling that on the balance of probabilities he did rape
00:32Brittany Higgins and actually strengthened those findings but unfortunately for him today the High
00:39Court has decided not to entertain any challenge to that and his case has been listed with more
00:47than 40 others, many of them refused special leave this year. There was a little bit of unfinished
00:55business so the kind of legal avenues for Bruce Lehman are probably exhausted in this area
01:01but remember he was ordered to pay two million dollars in costs to Network 10, all of that's
01:09been on hold so now we might be looking at what happens to do with that, it's not certain but
01:16there could be measures for bankruptcy and that sort of thing because we know that Bruce Lehman is
01:24impecunious, of course we should also add he has always denied that he sexually assaulted Ms Higgins
01:34and in fact the only criminal trial that was held ended without any findings against him.
