A man has been arrested after going amok at a restaurant in Telok Mengkuang, Kuala Langat, reportedly after a worker asked him to settle a long-outstanding food debt.

Videos of the incident, which occurred on Wednesday (April 8) afternoon, quickly went viral on social media.

00:04A man is in police custody after going on a violent rampage in Teluk Mengkwang, Kuala Langat,
00:09all reportedly over an unpaid food bill.
00:13Videos of the incident, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon, had gone viral on social media.
00:17It is understood that the trouble began when a restaurant worker asked the man to settle a long outstanding food
00:23debt.
00:24Instead of paying up, the suspect snapped, grabbing a meat cleaver and a rattan stick,
00:28and going on a destructive rampage through the premises and onto the street, damaging nearby vehicles.
00:35When police arrived, he turned on them too, brandishing the weapons at officers and at patrol vehicles on the scene.
00:42With help from bystanders, the suspect was arrested without further incident.
00:47District Police Chief Superintendent Mohamed Akmal Rizal Radzi said the man was taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahima Hospital in Klang
00:53for medical examination.
00:55He added that police are investigating the case under multiple charges,
00:59including assault against a public servant, causing mischief to property, and possession of dangerous weapons.
