The last ferry of the night in New York. Cute idea. Within minutes it turns into a floating nightmare, because Screamboat Willie is not a mascot, he’s a snack with anger issues. While everyone’s trying to pretend the ride is normal, the passengers and crew start vanishing one by one, leaving behind a bloody mess that really commits to the bit.
What’s the play here? Hide, scream, repeat. Or, you know, actually fight back. The movie keeps tightening the trap on the boat until it’s less “peaceful crossing” and more “how long until the next body shows up.”
Screamboat leans into its own ridiculous premise with greasy energy and no patience for subtlety. If you like horror that’s willing to be dumb in a confident way, this one’s for you. ---------- Spät nachts noch schnell mit der Fähre nach New York. Klingt entspannt. Ist es nicht. Die letzte Überfahrt kippt sofort in ein Chaos-Futter: Eine gemeine Maus namens Screamboat Willie geht auf Touris-Jagd und macht aus dem Boot einen blutigen Laufsteg. Passagiere und Crew verschwinden reihenweise. Nicht irgendwie mystisch. Sondern so, wie man es von einem Horrorfilm erwartet, wenn das Drehbuch beschließt, dass „Sicherheitshinweise“ ab sofort nur noch Deko sind.
Cindi bleibt nicht lange nur Mitfahrerin. Irgendwann ist sie Teil der Überlebensfrage: Stellen wir uns dem Biest, oder hoffen wir, dass das Wasser schneller kocht als der Horror. Screamboat ist Trash mit Zähnen. Man sollte sich drauf einlassen wie auf einen Unfall. Mit viel Schaudern, aber auch mit einem Grinsen.
