The Champions League steps back in the frame.

As Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain both recorded 2-0 first leg wins in the quarterfinals today.

Barcelona playing at home, did so for the most with ten players as Julian Alvarez was on target for Atletico in the victory.

And the defending champions PSG scored once in each half to blank Liverpool in Paris.

00:05saw Barcelona escaping a red card.
00:07But today it was a different story as Barcelona had a player shown red after a VAR review.
00:16And the visitors took advantage 60 seconds later.
00:24But one goal wouldn't cut it for Atleti as if they found a second.
00:35And they would take that 2-0 advantage through their home ground for the retained leg.
00:42Meanwhile in France the defending champions PSG only needed 11 minutes to breach Liverpool's
00:47defence.
00:51It was one way traffic for the Parisians as Liverpool were wobbling.
00:58And they were down for the count once more just after the hour mark.
01:06Probably PSG should have scored more but they would briefly take a 2-0 advantage into the
