This one is for anyone who likes their crime stories with just enough chaos to feel suspiciously real. Léo loses her brother Ludo in Hamburg. That’s the start. The next part is where the movie gets its attitude: even though she’s been told what to do, she partners up with Mélanie, a German cop, to investigate anyway.

And it’s not long before “investigation” turns into “oh no, this is going to become a whole situation.” Nice (the city) is facing a looming threat, and the case refuses to stay tidy. Between cross-border paperwork, grudging teamwork, and the sense that everyone is hiding the important detail, the film keeps pushing toward a larger catastrophe.

Nice Girls plays the procedural bits straight, then undercuts the comfort with friction. It’s less about perfect logic and more about momentum. In a good way.

Nice Girls ist so eine Mischung aus Buddy-Umgehungsroute und Ermittlungsstress, die man sich eigentlich nur in Nizza vorstellen kann. Als Léo seinen Bruder Ludo in Hamburg verliert, wird’s nicht nur emotional, sondern auch sehr praktisch. Trotz klarer Ansagen geht sie mit einer deutschen Polizistin, Mélanie, auf Spurensuche. Und natürlich ist es nicht einfach nur ein Fall. Nizza hat offenbar einen echten Stressfaktor am Hals, der schnell zu groß wird, um ihn allein zu schieben.

Der Film macht dabei ziemlich viel richtig. Er lässt zwei völlig unterschiedliche Ermittlungswelten aufeinandertreffen, steckt den Plot in einen internationalen Krimi-Kreislauf und würzt das Ganze mit dem Gefühl, dass irgendwo noch eine Verbindung lauert, die man gleich bereuen wird. Nice Girls meint es ernst. Leider oft in einem Tempo, das sich wie Panik anfühlt.
