00:00Absolutely, we should have to move on both hands because this is so important in order to make sure that
00:07our children who are online and buying this type of weapons don't buy this type of weapon and also they
00:16don't go into their own hands.
00:18Yeah, it's really important that we know what's out there. I mean, we've been exposed to a whole new world
00:25that we weren't exposed to before in the most tragic circumstances and we don't want more parents to be having
00:31to sit here where we are today. So by taking preventative measures like this, I believe, you know, it's going
00:38to make a difference and I'm really, really pleased to have it open.
00:41London's new National Knife Crime Centre opened in Bloomsbury as the country steps up its game to battle knife crime.
00:50The Crime and Policing Bill, now in its final stages in Parliament, plans to crack down on knife crime, antisocial
00:56behaviour, violence against women and girls, shoplifting and child abuse.
01:01However, as of Wednesday, two separate double stabbings are under investigation after violence broke out in both East and North
01:11London on Tuesday, leaving two men dead and another two injured.
01:16It is always a bittersweet moment for me. I will always be the loser, mother. You know, we lost a
01:24beautiful son to no fault of us and our family. But I will always, always remember why he existed. He
01:31was such a beautiful child and we must make sure that no other child lose their life like he did.
01:37Age verification, age verification, to have the bulk sales being reported, to have this knife crime centre, to actually monitor
01:42the work going into Ronald's law is incredible stuff.
01:46And it's, you know, it's testament to all the people involved. It's not, you know, not just us who are
01:50claiming the Home Office, all the other campaigns and everybody.
01:53We've pulled together to ensure that this stuff doesn't keep happening. So, I mean, I think it's actually sad, obviously,
02:01that some young people will be feeling like that.
02:05That's because, obviously, you know, today in the launch, we saw a lot of the things they're exposed to on
02:09social media and it can be really scary to look at.
02:12However, we can only, you know, we can only tell that that you're just, you know, you're making the problem
02:17a lot worse for yourself.
02:19You're bringing not just yourself, your families into it. And, you know, you're not protecting yourself because you could very
02:26easily become the victim of that knife, the very knife that you're carrying.
02:30And I also think parents need to be more involved because they need to understand why their children are feeling
02:35fearful and what can they do to help the issue as well.
02:38You know, we can't just keep saying, we can't just keep blaming young people and saying, you know, why are
02:42they doing this? Why are they doing that?
02:44Let's look at, you know, the wider scale of the problem. Let's look at schools. Let's look at the organisations
02:49that are surrounding our children.
02:51You know, that's supposed to be keeping them safe. You know, how can we as campaigners, how can we actually
02:56support young people?
