00:00Swear that we never lost the flame
00:06Nostalgia
00:07You're an echo in my head
00:11Oh Nostalgia
00:14Alright what's up Amaya and today I will be reviewing my daily driver phone
00:18The Samsung Galaxy Note 9
00:20That I have been using and daily driving for the past 1 year
00:24And this phone is 6 years old at this point
00:27So is it worth trying or you should avoid it at all?
00:31We should find out in this video
00:33Ok so first of all let's talk about the body of this phone
00:36This phone is like the glass metal sandwich
00:38It has Gorilla Glass 5 on the front
00:41Gorilla Glass 5 on the back
00:43And some aluminium frame
00:45This frame is kinda really showing its edge
00:48As you can see from the scratches that I have got
00:53Anyway so let's talk about the body hands
00:56So on the back side of the phone we get 2 cameras
00:59A sensor and a flashlight
01:01And some fingerprint sensor
01:03We got the Samsung Loco and some information on the back of the phone
01:06On the front we get this gorgeous 6.4 inches Samsung's AMOLED HDR10
01:11It does not have dynamic AMOLED 2x or any 120hz or 90hz display
01:17This is simply 60hz Super AMOLED and it does not certify with HDR10 plus
01:23It is only HDR10
01:25But still it is really good for watching movies and such
01:27And not good for gaming as we need higher hertz for gaming
01:32Ok so here we have the LED indicator which is very useful when you get notifications calls or things like
01:40that
01:40Especially charging it shows red while charging and green when it is fully charged
01:45Here we have the iris scanner which was really great to unlock your phone but does not work very properly
01:53And I do not use it even
01:55Here are other sensors for brightness and suns
01:59Here we have the air piece which pairs with the speaker on the downside of the phone
02:05And provides your stereo speaker experience
02:08Especially when gaming and movies it is just really nice I really love it
02:14And for calls it is also fairly loud you can hear the calls really great and does not cause you
02:21any trouble
02:22Here we have the front speaker
02:24Oh I mean sorry the front camera
02:26We will talk about the cameras later on the phone
02:29On the upside of the phone we have the SIM card tray
02:32It is SIM, single SIM, hybrid SIM and also an SD card reader
02:38Very nice
02:40We can use it single SIM and SD card or you can use a dual SIM
02:44Whichever one you prefer
02:45I do not use SD card anymore because this phone storage is really great
02:53I have this 512 model
02:55It does not run out of space at all
02:58And I have 8 GB of RAM
03:02We will talk about it later
03:03Here
03:04So
03:06On the downside of the phone we get the headphone jack
03:10RIP
03:10Type C
03:11Some speakers
03:13A microphone
03:14And
03:15Stylus
03:16S Pen
03:17S Pen is the identity of note devices
03:19And note devices are now dead
03:21The S Pen is now available in other Samsung S Ultra series
03:25Ultra phones
03:26They are the new notes
03:28Anyway this note is a legendary phone
03:31And I really love it
03:32But I wish it really got the attention that it needed
03:35So moving on
03:37Let's talk about the display
03:39So this phone's display is 6.4
03:41It's Super AMOLED
03:431440p display
03:44It is more than 1080p
03:4660 Hz
03:47Which is a shame
03:49And
03:50I really love watching enjoying movies on it
03:53Enjoying YouTube and such
03:55It does not very do good job with the games
03:59Because it overheats
04:00This is the Exynos version 9810
04:03So speaking about the performance
04:05This has the Samsung's Exynos 9810 processor
04:08And in some areas it comes with
04:11Snapdragon 8 something
04:14Which I do not know
04:16845 I guess
04:17And still
04:18It is based on Samsung's 10 nanometer processor
04:22Which is really not great at this point
04:25It is
04:25It gets very hot
04:27And is not good for gaming
04:29Because it is 60 years
04:30It does not
04:31Good
04:32Beyond 60
04:33It is always under 60
04:35I will also show you the performance of the
04:38Scores that I got
04:49Now this should give you the
04:51Idea about
04:55The screen quality and the speakers
04:56Now this should give you the idea about
04:58The screen quality and the speakers
05:00And also the performance of my phone
05:28For playing old games like this GTA Saneris that I am playing right now,
05:34and also games like this are offline and does not require high graphics.
05:38This is a really great phone for that, but for longer gaming, it gets really hot as you
05:44can, you cannot tell, but I can tell you.
05:47I will also provide the benchmarking results right here, which I found on the internet.
05:53I did not try it for myself because I don't want to ruin my phone.
05:59Just kidding.
06:00I will show you the results.
06:02Without stopping much.
06:08The speakers are really nice.
06:11I can hear everything, and I also enjoy movies and games.
06:17Anyway, let's move on.
06:22So on the software side, it came with Android 8, and now it is on Android 10, one UI version
06:282.5, which is really smooth, considering this is a really old, six-year-old phone.
06:35But still, it is really smooth for daily tasks, it does not slow down at all.
06:45It is really great.
06:55If you want to know what I have videos, it is just recordings that I do on my phone.
07:02I really love using this phone, but I wish it still got the attention that it needed right
07:07now.
07:08There are some custom rooms that I can install, but I do not recommend custom rooms.
07:12It is not now because those are really buggy, and I really like it on Android 10.
07:19I want to use the stable version of it.
07:22So for stability, I have to use the Android 10.
07:26I cannot upgrade it much.
07:28I still got some custom rooms that I can install.
07:31I wanted to install them, but those were really unstable, and I am using this phone as my daily
07:37driver.
07:38But I do not recommend installing custom rooms on daily drivers.
07:41So I have to use the phone as it is.
07:44So let's talk about the battery of this phone.
07:48So when it came out, it was like 4000 and it was a whole day battery, but now it's like
07:54a half of it.
07:55This one is kind of really old, and it is only have 4000 mAh battery, as you can see right
08:03from here.
08:08Okay, as you can see from the charge control app that I have installed on my phone, this
08:14is the battery capacity, 4000 mAh, and now the current capacity is kind of really low.
08:19The estimated one is really, really low.
08:22It is half of the battery, and I do not really like it at all.
08:27So I use charge control to keep my battery not gonna go higher than 85%, or else it starts
08:37to heat up.
08:38The battery is really not great, and the software is really old.
08:43These are the two reasons that I really don't like about this phone.
08:46Otherwise, this is a really great device.
08:48I love using it for watching multimedia, movies, YouTube, Netflix, things like that, and for
08:55gaming, now I shall show you the results now.
08:58The second key right here, which we have here, is the Bixby key, which I have remapped to
09:03open Samsung Notes.
09:05Double pressing on it opens up Bixby settings, and long press on it opens up Bixby, and single
09:13press opens up Samsung Notes.
09:15This is how I have remapped my Bixby key.
09:18Now, the last thing that I need to talk about this phone is the stylus.
09:24So, this is the ordinary stylus that everyone is used to know.
09:29It can write things like that.
09:32You can take screenshots, write stuff on it, save notes whenever you want to, or just use
09:39it as it is.
09:39For example, when I put this on the phone, and when I take it out, you'll get a lot, some
09:47options.
09:48I have removed some options.
09:49I have using the ones that I really like to use.
09:52This is the create node if I want to create a node.
09:55If I want to edit a node, I use the view all nodes option.
09:58For screen select, I use this.
10:01It just creates little animation.
10:04I can select whatever I want, some things like that.
10:07It takes that and extracts text, pin to screen, or do whatever you want.
10:12You can also save it, share it, or draw on it like this.
10:17I don't do that much.
10:19I used it only to extract text, or take a small piece of screenshots.
10:25Also, there are some other options as well.
10:28The next one is the screen write option.
10:30You can take that.
10:31It takes a screenshot of the phone, and you can also smart select the phone's screen, or
10:36you can just simply remove stuff.
10:38I'd like this.
10:41Yep, that is a spoiler.
10:42I want to make a video on it on the next slide.
10:45Also, you can do things like that.
10:48So, talking about the S-Pen, the S-Pen's wireless capabilities are really well known.
10:55There is a button, as you can see, right here, where the S-Pen has a button.
11:02And it works like a charm, but looks like I have not connected it.
11:06I have to insert my S-Pen on my phone, and turn on the S-Pen Air Actions.
11:15Let's turn that off.
11:17I want to keep using the current S-Pen.
11:20Now, it is connecting to my S-Pen.
11:22This might take a while.
11:23And the wireless capabilities of this pen is that you can use it as a remote shutter for
11:30taking pictures.
11:32If you're using a presentation, like using slides on my phone that I use as a student,
11:39that comes in really handy.
11:42Well, to be honest, I have only used it for taking selfies of myself, like double-click,
11:51like long-pressing on it opens up the camera option, double-clicking on it changes the front
12:00and back camera.
12:02Now, it has gone to back camera.
12:03This is now taking the front camera.
12:06Oh, that's just, okay, I don't think, seem to, having, okay, okay, okay, I am having trouble
12:14here.
12:15Okay, long-pressing on it opens up camera.
12:20Double-pressing changes the camera, whichever one you want to use.
12:23I mostly use the front camera, and I can take pictures, like clicking on it, taking pictures.
12:30Yep, comes in really handy when you do not have someone to take your pictures.
12:35You can see these pictures are quite really nice.
12:40So, okay, that's all for the S-Pen.
12:42And now, I am using my phone's front-facing camera to record this video.
12:47Well, my phone also has 15-watt wired charging and 5-watt wireless charging, which does not
12:52really matter.
12:53It takes about one and a half hour to charge my phone wired and takes a lot of time while
13:00wireless charging.
13:01I should think it takes overnight for me to charge on wireless.
13:04Anyway, now I should show you the camera samples.
13:08This is the front-facing camera with OIS and mic, and the other camera is coming soon.
13:17Well, I guess I do not have anything better for recording this video.
13:22That is why I am using my mirror to record this.
13:26Oh, я-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I
13:45-I-Ii-I î pne both the Sample S this
13:54so this is everything that you now know about my daily driver phone that I could
13:58show you right now there's nothing else to talk about I guess anyway that's been
14:02it thanks for watching I will catch you in the next one take care bye bye
