00:01Previously on Seven Little Johnstons.
00:04This is the only dress that I smiled in.
00:06I love it a lot.
00:09So how long to order?
00:1212 to 16 weeks.
00:14Well, that leaves us barely a month to alter.
00:18Better late than never.
00:19I am definitely worried for Liz.
00:22That is just too tight of a turnaround.
00:26These pants.
00:26Your bell bottoms.
00:28Are we gonna find a boy this year?
00:31You know that's how me and Jonah met.
00:33Well, yeah, I know that.
00:35Ashley and Jonah, Alex and Allie, and Mom and Dad
00:38all met at the Little People's Conference.
00:42Word of advice?
00:43It'll happen when you least expect it.
00:47Your first convention, so you get to kind of see a world like ours.
00:51How do you think Blaine's gonna do on this trip?
00:53She does great when we're traveling,
00:54but her sleeping on me now, since she's so long,
00:57I'm not gonna be able to get down in the airplane seat
01:01and hold her like this,
01:03because, oh my God, my back would be...
01:06Yay!
01:09We haven't even boarded, and Layton's already crying.
01:12So this is probably gonna be a very long plane ride for everyone.
01:30We've been on a flight for three hours now to San Diego.
01:33Tell me in like one, two, three, four!
01:40The flight to San Diego was pretty good.
01:42Layton slept a little bit,
01:43but overall her temperament and demeanor was awesome.
01:46She played, she ate a lot.
01:49It was a very easy flight.
01:56So we have officially arrived in San Diego,
01:58and we're all pretty pumped and excited for this year's conference.
02:18Hi!
02:18Hey guys!
02:20Hello!
02:21How are you?
02:21Good, how are you?
02:23It's been way too long.
02:24Hello!
02:25We're at a winery to get a taste of some wines,
02:28possibly for our wedding,
02:29and also I will be asking Daisy and Carol to be my bridesmaids.
02:34Gosh, it's been since Layton's birthday
02:36since we've seen each other.
02:37Time flies.
02:38Last time I saw you got Austin.
02:39I was pregnant!
02:40Oh, yeah.
02:41So you get to see Layton, yeah.
02:42Jonah was like, you're not pregnant this time, right?
02:44And I said, no, no, Jonah, no.
02:46Now maybe next time.
02:49Welcome in.
02:49How familiar are we in the wine world,
02:52if you don't mind me asking?
02:52She's probably the best house.
02:53I only know Stella Rose and Bear Flute.
02:57No worries.
02:57It still counts as wine.
02:58Don't worry about it.
02:59My knowledge about wine is that it's old
03:01and made out of grapes,
03:02and it looks fancy when you twirl it.
03:05My wine tasting came from the college, Carol,
03:07living off the college, you know, dorm budget
03:09and hitting up the deals every week for wine.
03:12I'm not gonna, yeah, lie.
03:13We're more like beer people.
03:15We are clueless to wine knowledge.
03:17I know wine as much as Carol has brought wine to my house,
03:21and that's about it for me.
03:24We'll go with what you think we should start off with
03:26and then we'll kind of grow from that.
03:28Yeah, first bottle there,
03:29it's gonna be something really light and refreshing.
03:32There's still a decent amount of acidity in there.
03:35This is a Chardonnay,
03:36and I'll get a little dump bucket for you.
03:38If it's not for you, we won't be offended
03:39or if you're looking forward to that next pour.
03:41Well, I should.
03:42As you age it, it's going to be turning some of that acidity
03:45into a little bit of a butteriness.
03:47I don't know.
03:48I'm sorry.
03:49It's not terrible.
03:53I said, hell no.
03:54Are you drinking another sip?
03:54Yeah.
03:55I gotta make sure I don't like it.
03:56I'll go ahead and drink it.
03:58No, no, no.
03:59Oh, my God.
03:59I'm not gonna be able to carry it.
04:00It's a minute hard.
04:02He was throwing them back,
04:04and I was like, sip, sip, dump the bucket.
04:06Sip, sip, dump the bucket.
04:07He was like, I'm gonna finish it.
04:09That's just me.
04:10If we try something, I want to finish it.
04:12I just don't want to throw it away.
04:14Cheers.
04:14Cheers.
04:15With this one, you have pet gnat.
04:17So there's a lot of small bubbles.
04:18It'll seem creamy.
04:20It's better than the first one.
04:21Enjoy this wine.
04:22I'll be back whenever you're ready for the next one, OK?
04:24You're welcome.
04:25So I want to hear all about the engagement.
04:27OK.
04:27And I want to see engagement pictures.
04:30I love that.
04:31Look at Bryce's face.
04:32You can tell he loves it.
04:33Since we're having our wedding in our backyard,
04:35I was like, oh, Stuart knew the river.
04:37The river was where a lot of our dating life was.
04:39That's not Bryce.
04:39Yes.
04:40How'd you know she was the catch?
04:42What's your favorite candy?
04:43Mmm.
04:43Have you ever been arrested?
04:45How many kids you want?
04:46Are you going to marry her?
04:48Terrible.
04:48You made Liz blush.
04:50Those were fun ones he wanted to do,
04:52but our real ones.
04:53Oh, that's adorable.
04:53That's so fun.
04:55They were both very cute.
04:56I think it shows both of their fun sides
04:58and their sweet sides.
05:00Yeah.
05:00I'm all about the camo and the hunting.
05:03Like, it matches their vibe.
05:04If we had done pictures based off our vibe,
05:06it had been in a McDonald's drive-thru.
05:08Like, sharing a number seven meal.
05:10So I think their photos really match their personality,
05:14especially as a couple.
05:15Have y'all set a date?
05:17Or?
05:17We have.
05:18November 8th.
05:19Four months away.
05:20We're doing it in mom and dad's backyard,
05:22because it's going to be under 100 people.
05:24The backyard wedding?
05:25It can be really pretty.
05:26Yeah.
05:27Speaking of weddings.
05:29I am super excited to be asking Carol and Dacey
05:32to be my bridesmaids,
05:34and I cannot wait to see what they have to say.
05:36I would love for you guys to be my bridesmaids.
05:51Hey, guys.
05:52Got some gloves for everybody.
05:54Oh, yeah.
05:54They all go on your left hand.
05:56They're gigantic, but it'll keep the bird's talons off your arms.
06:00It's always fun to explore the city that you're in each year.
06:04So we found a falcon wreath exhibit
06:06and decided to go see what this is about.
06:09Hey, guys.
06:10Welcome to Total Raptor Experience.
06:12Our whole purpose is to share wild animals with you guys,
06:14let you observe them and interact with them.
06:16This is Ali.
06:16She is a four-year-old female lantern falcon.
06:20And these guys are raptors.
06:21Raptors are these oddities of nature that hunt with their back feet,
06:24like hawks and owls and eagles and falcons.
06:27You've got these really sharp, crazy talons on their back feet.
06:31And that's all about grabbing the prey.
06:33So we'll have Ali hang out with you guys on your gloves.
06:36You know, waiting for the bird to hopefully stick the landing on your arm
06:39and nowhere else on your body because we have been informed about the talons that they have.
06:45Hopefully it lands on the glove and not our arms.
06:48So here's one of our hawk ambassadors.
06:50So what we're going to do is have you guys be some friendly saguaro cactus.
06:55Point your glove straight at the bird.
06:57Incoming.
06:59The whole time he was flying sideways.
07:02Yeah, when they're going downwind, they've got to fly like a helicopter
07:04and beat their wings really hard just to stay up.
07:07It was pretty scary at first.
07:09We don't have the longest arms.
07:12So when this bird lands and we have our arms out,
07:15it is closer to our face than the average person that does this.
07:19You look like you're ready to go.
07:22Point your glove straight at the bird.
07:25And then you have to look at the bird's perspective too.
07:28Like how often does this bird see little people?
07:31So it's probably like, what in the hell have I signed up for?
07:35Logan, right here, bud.
07:38You're a good bird.
07:40I, for one, have never worked with little people before.
07:43But the fact that the folks today had relatively short arms actually made it easier.
07:47You want your arm in close to you anyway.
07:50You know, it makes it much easier to hold the bird.
07:52The bird's more comfortable because it's nice and safe.
07:54And I think it's actually an advantage.
07:56This is what they do out in the desert.
07:57They just go from cactus to cactus.
07:59The funniest to watch the bird land on is probably Ashley.
08:03She talks kind of like...
08:05You're a good bird.
08:07Ashley.
08:09Ashley's face.
08:11She was like...
08:11Very scared.
08:13I mean, it comes at you.
08:14You kind of jerk.
08:15But I mean, it wasn't like abrasive or anything.
08:18It didn't like hurt.
08:23So will you be my bridesmaids?
08:27It would be an honor to stand by your side.
08:30I say yes.
08:31Yes.
08:31Yes.
08:32We say yes to being bridesmaid.
08:35We've been Elizabeth's closest friends for a while.
08:37We've always talked about marriage and kids.
08:40So it's like a small part of us that knew it was coming.
08:43And just being able to stand up there besides someone you care that much about
08:46on the biggest day of their life is just...
08:48It's so cool to see.
08:49Bryce, if you could have one thing at the wedding, what would you want?
08:52Well, I was really looking forward to dancing with my daughter.
08:56Aww.
08:57Oh, yes.
08:58Yeah, not me.
08:59Of course you, but I don't know.
09:02Bryce, you didn't tell me you had some dancing shoes.
09:04You've got to have nine drinks of me before I do that.
09:06That's why we're having an open bar.
09:09So I have our next bar.
09:11This is going to be another natural wine.
09:13It's going to be something that is not filtered.
09:15They don't add any yeast to start the fermentation process.
09:19It was cool to hear about how they made their wines.
09:23It's going to be something that's a little bit more balanced.
09:25You're not going to have anything that's like really dry or overwhelming on there.
09:29It's fruit forward.
09:30You know, you get more like fresh fruits like berries.
09:33That's going to give you some aroma there.
09:34It's nice to learn.
09:36Follow-up question.
09:37Stuff like that.
09:38Describe me one of the wines and his exact words of how he told you where the wine was made
09:43from and how.
09:44I couldn't tell you that.
09:44Please.
09:45Big bubbles are going to be a little bit more metallic.
09:47A decent amount of acidity as far as just being oaked.
09:50Very little to no sulfites.
09:52Fermenting the wine.
09:53The color that's imposed by the grapes.
09:55What?
09:55I was listening to him and it was cool.
09:57Then tell me.
09:58I can't tell you.
09:59Exactly.
10:00But it was neat.
10:01You were too buzzed.
10:04You good?
10:05No, I don't.
10:05Babe, we still got more to go.
10:07I'm just going to get a little bit.
10:09You like them a lot.
10:13So, Emma.
10:14Yeah.
10:15Have you found a guy yet?
10:16Oh, yeah.
10:17I thought you were supposed to help me.
10:17You haven't.
10:18I know.
10:18I was supposed to help you.
10:19I know.
10:20Are you scoping?
10:22You found anybody?
10:22I'm definitely scoping, yeah.
10:24Is there anybody like on the radar?
10:26No.
10:26No?
10:27No.
10:28I've been all over the place just saying hey to everyone.
10:32We just got to get past the friend zone one year.
10:36We make a lot of friends.
10:38So, we got to get to second base.
10:41Elizabeth has no idea what the bases are.
10:44Figuratively, her and Bryce have ran them off.
10:49I'll help you tonight.
10:51We'll see if you do.
10:53First base and dating.
10:55I don't know.
10:56First date?
10:59Introducing each other.
11:01Talking.
11:02First base is kissing.
11:03Second base is touching and feeling.
11:05Getting to second base is meeting the parents.
11:10I guess doing it.
11:12Then what would third base be?
11:14Marriage.
11:15Third base is telling each other that we love each other.
11:20It's more touching.
11:22A higher level of touching.
11:24And then home run, obviously, is sex.
11:28Getting married.
11:29He's still innocent.
11:31That's it.
11:32I mean, was I close?
11:33No.
11:34Oh.
11:36Look at where you want to move to and then find a dude that lives there.
11:39In LPA.
11:40Ooh.
11:41That's how you do it.
11:42Want to be a Cali boy?
11:43That'd be really hard.
11:45Long distance.
11:46Yeah.
11:47Long distance is hard regardless.
11:48Whether you're 200 miles or 5,000.
11:51I mean, a phone call is a phone call.
11:53FaceTime's FaceTime.
11:55That's true.
11:55Yeah.
11:56Me and Ashley right now are only three and a half hours.
12:00Three and a half.
12:00That's not bad.
12:01Yeah.
12:01Honestly, I would like to get out of North Carolina.
12:05I think it would do me some good.
12:07I don't want to be so far from home, though.
12:11No.
12:11I mean, you don't have to.
12:12But two and a half hours, two hours.
12:14My family is a big part of my life.
12:16Yeah.
12:17Ashley finishes up school in December.
12:19So, you know, those are things we've thought about and are going to actually put into action,
12:23you know, after this year.
12:26Whether Ashley and I live in North Carolina or Georgia or somewhere else.
12:31We've worked so hard to get to this point and maintain consistency and maintain a healthy relationship away.
12:37And that alone is hard to do.
12:39So, when you get to the point where you have the privilege to live with your significant other,
12:45I won't take it for granted.
12:47Watch this.
12:48This is Ali coming right at us right here.
12:50Hop.
12:50Oh, yeah.
12:51Come on, kiddo.
12:53All right, guys.
12:53Here we go.
12:55Hop.
12:56Hoop.
12:57Nice hit, sweetheart.
12:59Nice hit.
13:00So, you see what she did?
13:00She just knocked it out, let it fall, came back for it.
13:03She killed her little prize.
13:04So.
13:06I thought it was cool.
13:07I can go back to my kids and be like,
13:09Hey, look.
13:10Your teacher held a falcon.
13:11Let me give you some tips and some facts.
13:16One more before we leave.
13:17What was that one?
13:18I know you want to do a, what would you, a flush?
13:20What did you say it was called?
13:21A flight.
13:22I want to be flushed once I get all this.
13:25We ready for our next one?
13:26We do a flight and you pick.
13:28A whole flight?
13:29Yeah.
13:29Yeah.
13:30We'll go out with a bang.
13:32Makes sense.
13:32Yeah, that'll, that'll be five different pours there on that flight.
13:35I got to keep it going because we got to party tonight.
13:37Like I've always wanted, I'm never, this is my first like alcoholic flight.
13:42I've always done the coffee flights.
13:43When I hear flight, I'm like, oh my God, I got to do it.
13:46Off the wall, on the floor, move to your body, can't move anymore.
13:50And let the champagne pour, fill up your glasses.
13:53Oh, I got buzzed off that wine.
13:54Because we had like eight, nine different wines.
13:58Yeah.
13:58And I was drinking it, wasn't it?
13:59Yeah.
14:00It actually looks like beer.
14:02Oh, that's your type.
14:03They're all starting to taste the same.
14:06At this point, I don't even know what I'm tasting anymore.
14:10Not in a bad way though.
14:12Just my taste buds are like, they're confused.
14:16Hey, more.
14:17More.
14:18More?
14:19Yeah, more for me.
14:21Bryce and I are going to have to hold each other's hand walking down the street.
14:23I'm kidding.
14:26What are me and Zach going to do?
14:27Watch from afar.
14:30I am so happy I got to watch Liz and Bryce fall in love.
14:33And they have a year until they get married, so hopefully I'll find a plus one.
14:36There you go.
14:37Come on, Daisy.
14:39No, you don't have a year.
14:39They have four months.
14:40I got to get on it.
14:42That's not a year.
14:44What?
14:44Shoot.
14:45You didn't drink too much wine.
14:46No, I did.
14:48So yeah, four months to find a plus one.
14:51Wish me luck.
14:51Let's see.
15:06So we are three days into this conference and there has already been a whole lot going
15:10on between workshops, dancing, partying.
15:13And so during these conferences, Amber and I try to slip off.
15:17We need some downtime.
15:21If you're wanting to do conference every year, I'll just send you because the kids are all
15:26adults.
15:27In my mind, it's kind of like I don't have to do it for them anymore.
15:31So I'll just do every few years.
15:35The days of our entire family having to go aren't really necessary.
15:40You know, they're all adults.
15:41Back when they were 14, 15 years old, we would always tell them, don't do stupid stuff
15:45and don't leave the hotel without telling me.
15:48Now they can often do their own thing.
15:50So if they want to go on their own, they're at the age now where they can do it.
15:54I think Alex and Allie are having a good time.
15:59I think they are.
15:59It looks like they are.
16:00Yeah.
16:01So Alex and Allie in the past have had challenges navigating long distance relationships.
16:07Bye.
16:08I love you.
16:09I love you.
16:11Oh, yeah, there's tears.
16:14Navigating relationships, period, because for Alex and Allie both, this is their first relationship.
16:19I just got off the phone with Allie and she said we would focus on being friends.
16:24We've just gotten mad and snippy at each other for stupid reasons.
16:28How are you feeling?
16:29I'm a little upset just because I still love her.
16:32But they have worked through those things and they are at a good place.
16:40Always good to have a recipe in front of you when you're cooking just because things move really fast
16:46and you don't want to forget anything.
16:48I want you to be working on the fish.
16:51Today we are making some fish tacos and some homemade salsa.
16:56San Diego is known for like their seafood in general and I like seafood so I'm looking forward to this
17:03cooking class.
17:04You want to listen, you want to smell, you want to use all your senses because that's what helps you
17:09with the food, okay?
17:10Okay.
17:12All right, so you like to cook?
17:14Yes, I love cooking.
17:15What's your favorite thing to cook?
17:17Um, probably, I don't know.
17:21What do I like?
17:23Like chili?
17:24Yeah.
17:25Skyline chili?
17:26Yeah.
17:26I heard to that place, I haven't been though.
17:28I love it there.
17:29Her favorite foods are like pastas, she likes steaks.
17:33She has not like a diverse palette but she's like open and trying new things.
17:36We can go out and enjoy a meal together.
17:41Just don't press too hard because you won't be able to get it out, okay?
17:44Okay.
17:45All right, perfect.
17:45So you're coming to the fair in like two weeks.
17:49Yeah, it seems like a lot of fun from what you've told me in the past.
17:52It's really fun, yeah.
17:54So Allie's family always goes to this county fair at the end of the summer where they show animals and
18:00this will be my first time joining their family.
18:02It'll be bittersweet.
18:04This is my last fair.
18:06Yeah, like this is the last time you'll be showing pigs.
18:08Yeah, I've been showing for 13 years.
18:11Wow.
18:11That's crazy to think about.
18:15So like what showing a pig is basically is where like Allie has to walk a pig around this arena.
18:20So you kind of just have to show every angle of the pig and make sure that one stands out
18:25versus the other ones in the arena.
18:27Are you wanting to show a pig?
18:29Maybe if you teach me a little bit.
18:31I will.
18:31Maybe I'll show someone in the open class.
18:34So I guess I can show a pig but I really do not want to embarrass myself in front of
18:38Allie's whole family.
18:41So are you nervous about fair at any?
18:43Yeah.
18:44The pig's going to be in a new environment or a new space.
18:48At fair, I'm afraid that they're going to run when I show them.
18:51Have your other pigs done before?
18:53Hell yeah.
18:54I've always had at least one pig.
18:57One.
19:01Alex, Emma, and I are going to be heading to Ohio.
19:04You know, when I'm up there, I'll probably talk to Karen and Adam about what do they see the future
19:11for Allie.
19:11And kind of our thoughts on what we see in the future for Alex.
19:16I don't see Allie coming down here to live.
19:19No.
19:20Alex will be our first child to move out of state.
19:24And of course, you know, we are worried, especially being a little person, moving.
19:28You do, as a parent, want to make sure that your kid's going to be accepted and comfortable and know
19:36he is going to be taken care of.
19:39I will say Alex loves life up there.
19:43And what Alex is going to college for, he can do anywhere.
19:49Broadcasting, television.
19:51There's so much television now in the farm.
19:53Farming.
19:54It's crazy.
19:55I know, it's on our TV quite frequently.
19:57By the end of next year, I should be done with it on my college, my first four years of
20:01college.
20:01I get a master's at Ohio State or something, and I would love to help out in the farm like
20:05I did for Harvest.
20:06Yeah, we would love that.
20:08We could always use an extra set of hands.
20:11You know, obviously they've been dating for a while, but they're going to have to navigate a full-time relationship.
20:18Trent and I had to do the same thing. We were three years long distance, and then it became like
20:22all the time.
20:24When you move in together and you share the same bathroom, the same bed, the same toothpaste, and somebody didn't
20:31wash the dishes out in the sink, it's a different relationship that you're learning.
20:35All right, cheers. Taco time.
20:44That's really good.
20:46Overall, this cooking class went really well.
20:48The fish tacos were a success, but now I'm thinking about pigs.
20:52Will I be able to successfully show one off at the fair?
21:07We've had a great week at conference, but before we head home, we are going to fit in one last
21:14event.
21:16All right, are you guys ready? Here we go.
21:24And just like that, your 30,000 pound bus just became my boat.
21:29We're in the water. Oh, my God.
21:40How do they get up there?
21:42Underwater, a sea lion can go about 35 miles an hour. So they just get going, they just jump right
21:48up.
21:49So the boat tour, it's exciting. I mean, we saw some sea lions, and those were cool to see.
21:57Right over there is a navy dolphin in the water.
22:00Any time an American warship docks in a foreign port, there will be a navy dolphin there to guard them.
22:08Oh!
22:10We got to see dolphins. They were jumping out of the water, so we were lucky with that.
22:15The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and I think I know more now about San Diego than I do my
22:20own town that I live in.
22:22Last night was fun. Jonah and Josh did fantastic at the talent show.
22:26Yeah, that was really good. Jonah's dancing.
22:32Last night was our last night of conference, and it was the talent show.
22:37So I, along with a good friend of mine, Josh, we decided to do a rendition of the Blues Brothers.
22:44Unfortunately, cameras aren't allowed during the week of conference, but people often film on their phones.
22:55I go to conferences to see friends and catch up, and I think that's the biggest thing I look forward
23:01to each year.
23:03She's played with lots of little kids.
23:06She's so cute. Like, she goes up to little kids.
23:08She's interacted a lot.
23:10Yeah.
23:11That's good.
23:13Layton enjoyed her first conference.
23:15Layton, obviously, it's a sightseeing, doing different things around San Diego, Children's Museum.
23:22Really just a lot of walking and strolling with Layton, because she enjoys that.
23:28Bryce, this is a good experience.
23:30Never been to anything like this before, and it was just cool to experience.
23:34I get to see all the different things they do at conference, and, you know, seeing a lot of her
23:40friends.
23:41I did get to do some fishing, and it was super fun to catch fish off the West Coast.
23:50Oh, look!
23:52So, San Diego has been fun, but knowing that we have to get home to wedding plan is exhausting.
24:00Wedding planning is a big stress.
24:04I love you.
24:07I love you.
24:12I love you.
24:14I love you.
24:16Bryce.
24:17Yeah?
24:18We got our Save the Dates in, but apparently I ordered a puzzle piece, so I'm going to show
24:21you how we're going to do this, okay?
24:23You got to get your multitasking skills.
24:26Stick the Save the Date in, take our initials, put it in the middle, flip it, and put our return
24:33address in the top left corner done now that we're home from conference it is
24:41time for us to get into wedding planning mode since we're less than four months
24:45away the people that we want to be a part of our wedding is really our family and
24:49we are planning to have the wedding in my parents backyard don't bend it up be
24:57gentle yeah are we doing all these at least let's just get through this stack
25:09if Bryce does a great job with the safety dates he may run the basis or he can just sit
25:14out in
25:15the dugout because that's how life has been lately for us so sitting in the dugout's lane we have a
25:21kid and we're we're busy you even said just wait to do it on our wedding night I said okay
25:25so guess
25:26what we're benched for a while don't you think they look pretty by the way why didn't you choose
25:33the hunting or fishing photos because he's already saved the dates and I'll save those pictures for
25:37our wedding website look you see I am sticking with the hunting hunter men you see the background
25:43that's the woods we're getting married outside the place where you hunt and you should be happy
25:48November is one of your favorite months out of the year so the inspiration that I have for this
25:52wedding is pretty much just a fall outdoor wedding luckily our trees will be changing colors so the
25:59trees will give us that natural orange and yellowy five to add to the fall weather and I said have
26:05fun with
26:05the flower colors since the bridesmaids and the groomsmen will be on the darker side of the colors and I
26:12said just make it you know like a fun outdoor but beautiful ceremony I like whatever Elizabeth likes
26:22tomorrow is a big day for us because we get to meet with Julie and remember Julie did Layton's birthday
26:29party and the baby shower she'll be doing all the flowers and stuff for ours Layton's birth month flowers
26:35and all flowers for the wedding so she has some significance here are some of the ideas that she
26:43showed as far as like our tent this is the mock-up that's what she's going to go over us
26:48with tomorrow
26:49of how she'll have everything down in the field that looks good so tomorrow we will be walking through
26:55with our wedding planner and also my parents to see if we can bring my wedding vision that I sent
27:03to
27:03the wedding planner to life in the backyard so bridesmaids dresses have been ordered since all
27:08my bridesmaids were asked and so those dresses are supposed to get here September 9th so that way I
27:14can get girls altered but we got to get you scheduled for picking out your style of suit
27:19is camouflage no good allergies no I don't know any wedding dress code that includes camo attire but
27:29with Elizabeth dating Bryce it should not be as shocking if he proposes that idea he married
27:36somebody he had a kid with somebody if camo's the deal breaker now I did a lot of things wrong
27:43I just know to tell you to do brown or black brown and black because the girls dresses are brown
27:48what's gonna be brown your belt your shoes your tie your um my tie's gonna be brown
27:54would that look good not black uh-huh it does that picture that I showed you pull up your phone
27:58brown tie brown belt brown shoes it all comes together
28:04so I want to make Liz happy but I want to find a way to bring some camouflage in this
28:12wedding
28:15and then once everybody gets all their clothes and stuff it's just the whole altering phase
28:19the timing is definitely the hardest part about this whole wedding thing how like when you buy
28:24something it takes this many weeks that's been I feel like the biggest struggle so far yeah so I did
28:29it was June when I went dress shopping and the dress won't be here until towards the end of September
28:35yeah I'll have maybe five weeks to get the dress altered and pray that they do it absolutely correct
28:44yeah it's a little nerve-wracking waiting on this dress because I want our seamstress to take her time
28:50with this dress I don't want her to feel rushed and then accidents happen to the dress we have to
28:56whack off a lot of it and keep all the designs with it can I'll get married to you in
29:01this that would be
29:03awful we have a beautiful wedding and then I show up and something like this you need to start
29:08practicing your vows though to help you become more comfortable speaking it still nervous about
29:14the whole thing you voted for us to do our own vows well I figured it'd make you more happier
29:19and
29:21no see and that's the thing you're focusing it on me it's about us and I figured it'd make it
29:26more
29:27valuable to our wedding more valuable more uh I can't wait to hear your vows more entertaining
29:37more that's better more intimate is the word with Bryce wanting to write his own vows I think it makes
29:46it a more personal wedding ceremony that's what he wants he's definitely gonna mention hunting and
29:52fishing I have a feeling it'll come up pretty often oh yeah it's time to get rockin and rollin since
29:58vacation's over you still got a lot to do oh
30:22Miss Julie hey hey how are you good how are you darling so good to see you
30:28good to see you too wedding we didn't get the memo to match y'all are did y'all plan
30:33this no no
30:34look at the shoes too oh my goodness you do match I love it I am my mother's daughter obviously
30:41we live
30:41in two different homes and we get dressed in two different houses it was not planned but it makes
30:47a great official wedding planning outfit Liz is definitely like a mini mom I've gotten to mix up
30:54before I was like mom and then it was Elizabeth like oops you're ready to plan yeah let's go see
31:01it
31:01I've already told Bryce the best way to get through this is to say yes whatever you want honey it
31:06looks
31:06great oh I think that's fabulous so Julie and I have been having a lot of talks with each other
31:11in regards to planning this wedding down in my parents field and we've shared lots of inspirations
31:16and stuff but she wants to get the real view and start nailing down where all of our big items
31:22will
31:22be so because we did a little mock-up of everything so tent here how big of a tent it's
31:30a 66 by 43 sailcloth
31:33tent which has like the wood poles and is really pretty and so this the the reception tent is going
31:40to
31:40house people eating dinner it's where most of the people are going to be for that and it's going to
31:44house the dance floor and the DJ this should be plenty of room this tree right here is probably my
31:51only concern so you see that tree's getting ready to come down for liability purposes yes yes but we
31:56probably need to go ahead and get rid of this tree this is a beautiful oak and that's a sweet
32:00gum
32:00well then take both of them out I guess a two-hour wedding is more important than a 50-year
32:06-old tree
32:06so we have to take down definitely two trees but when you ask me I'm like oh gosh we had
32:13dead trees
32:14down here I have about four trees that need to come down so what I'm thinking though as far as
32:21like
32:21guests because we're gonna have golf carts to bring even like the grandparents multi-passenger carts
32:27this is where the golf carts can drop the people the bridal party off come out and then head up
32:36that way what do you think I think that'd be good the distance from the house to the pavilion
32:42is about 250 yards which totals out to two and a half football fields the field itself is two and
32:51a
32:51half acres that's maybe one football field so we have the space to host Elizabeth and Bryce's wedding
32:59however we're gonna have to bring in a lot of added equipment to make this dream wedding for Elizabeth
33:07and host 70 plus guests I think we had planned to have a little bit of a seating area maybe
33:16around the
33:17fire pit I've always wanted to have flagstones done around the pavilion so that's gonna look
33:24literally 100 times nicer that'll be great and then our bar is a custom bar which I'm really excited
33:29about it's gonna go around the tent pole that'll be nice it's a 360 bar to help with space space
33:35yeah
33:36and we have like a multi-height bar too nice I always want to make sure I have options for
33:41everybody
33:42because even though it is an LP wedding there's still you know normal height people there so I want
33:47to make sure I have things at different heights but it all still has the same flow definitely don't want
33:52anything a bar height stool or anything that's going to be uncomfortable you don't want to see
33:57anybody in a formal dress trying to climb a big chair so we're going to make sure we have something
34:01for everyone the actual ceremony is going to be where you see that little hill my dad let's practice
34:10you have to walk slow you're music and dad I'm like kind of bending my back
34:17I might have to wear flats for him little people well specifically achondroplasia having short arms
34:25and them both being very broad shouldered and a little bit we walk with the sway yeah dad I cannot
34:32be like that you gotta be under dad's like we can hold hands I'm like I cannot hold hands with
34:39my
34:39father walking down the aisle that's what we cannot do dad and I are gonna have to you know do
34:44some more
34:44practice walking down our aisle I feel like so all right where's the very back row of seating going
34:54to be where is your arches going to be on top of the hill on top of the hill okay
34:58so really how about
35:00you're building a platform I really don't know if this just plays into my dad's brain stuff or if it's
35:05just you know my dad being my dad but when he had this conversation about putting the platform and the
35:10arches on the hill I was like no I remember you telling me that you just want to build a
35:15platform
35:16to put the arches on never about we're going to set it on the hill and I'm about to hike
35:20up an address
35:21up the hill daddy you said platform so you're walking through the arches no you're not walking
35:28through the arches no daddy you're not saying that not daddy well dad remember you said you were going
35:34to do a platform and that you were just using this hill to make your focal point for the arches
35:39okay
35:39so just the arches are going to be on the hill no that that that nothing's on the hill y
35:46'all making
35:47this too confused we are talking through the wedding plan and it is clear that there is confusion with
35:52Trent if he wants it to be a certain way that's what he is going to be tunneled or maybe
35:59I was left out of
36:00the last 72 text messages or planning of where things were going you're not left out maybe you
36:07didn't listen or pay attention so this flat spot right here is where you're going to want to put
36:14look at me don't we ain't going backwards you got to look at the center of this this is where
36:19everybody's like the way you're being I'm not being anything this is really just telling you our
36:25conversation we had before there's a lot of confusion a lot of back and forth from the peanut
36:30gallery somebody just needs to take the lead and at the end of the day if we're not using the
36:35top of
36:36this field for the ceremony why are we in this location it is the most unlevel piece of ground
36:41in this three acre field
36:57so we're at my parents house on their property and we're doing a walkthrough with our wedding
37:04planner julie and there's still some confusion where everything's going to be placed and that confusion
37:10comes from tread johnston go show me where you want the archers gonna be i remember you saying you
37:15just wanted to use this for the focal point platform big triangle two little triangles and
37:21then she decorates it awesome with flowers okay so we know we're doing a platform anything that could
37:27create a trip hazard we want to avoid that big slump right there needs to get filled in we have
37:33a hole
37:33here and a hole here that has to get filled in definitely yeah flat ground as we can do is
37:38going to be
37:38best so really the platform like low like lower than the graduation one two by four four inches
37:45yeah four inches i think it's the most when elizabeth and bryce decided to get married in the field
37:51elizabeth and i looked at wedding arches and we have chosen one elizabeth likes however i have not
37:58planned on building a platform we talked about it all of the needs is falling back on that and
38:08we the deadline cannot be pushed it doesn't is it is not changing so it's do or die you got
38:13some
38:14things to do you got a list right he always does just send me a text okay you want me
38:19to send this
38:20text you if you want to okay trance daddy do list yes so trees wedding arches platforms flagstones holes
38:30and i have a pile of dirt right here so i guess if i do like two wheelbarrows a day
38:37from now till
38:38november i might get it done so bryce how do you feel about it i'm just going with whatever honestly
38:44wise man wise man i love it the truth is november 8th is deer hunting season oh yeah and this
38:52is
38:52where they normally deer hunt oh that's shot for the season so it's shot yeah i'm glad that i was
38:58here for the walk around just so i can get an idea because i i wouldn't want to be clueless
39:03when that
39:04wedding comes but just standing out here looking at the river right beside us it's like dang you know
39:10i could be fishing here too but it's more important always make the wife fiancee happy
39:17you see this great big tree right here with the low branches okay yeah if bryce put his deer stand
39:23up
39:23there and why everybody comes down the aisle bryce is like oh shoot and he comes out of the stand
39:29and
39:29walks over to the wedding party everyone is going to be here they know this guy they know he lives
39:35for
39:35his family and then hunting and fishing some of that might not be in the right order but
39:42his tux jacket could be real tree camo and then when he gets up there he takes it off turns
39:47it inside
39:48out and puts it on and then he sends it i mean people would love it i need him to
39:53be focused and i
39:54don't need him breaking his neck coming out of a deer stand oh i'm super careful coming no we're not
39:59doing it that's such a good idea no where will your kitchen tent be over here yeah yeah we're
40:07probably going to put that right here well oh so now we do have an issue because amy is not
40:12going to
40:12let me have a bathroom near her food i thought about the bathroom being in that cutout those tools and
40:17all that stuff will not be there hold on let me add another thing to your list trent move tools
40:25so we are excited about this wedding however we are realizing that wedding planning is crazy
40:31and that this what we thought was a small intimate wedding is a lot bigger than we thought it was
40:37going to be you gotta have power you gotta have power back there we have water down here right
40:43it is the true realization that um this is going to be a lot in order to transform the field
40:50into a wedding venue and a lot of these things that need to get done are physical
40:54things that need to be constructed built which obviously cost a lot of money it can become
41:00overwhelming i said we walk back up to the house because the longer we stay down here the longer
41:04dad's list gets we're ready the list is only gonna get longer next time on seven little johnstons
41:13this weekend me and my mom are all visiting my girlfriend ali in ohio and tap on it like by
41:19its shoulders ali is going to teach me how to show my first pig at the county fair i am
41:26the only lp
41:36going to the fair i kind of expected like the people to stare at us take pictures of us and
41:42like
41:42whisper about us like that's just to be expected whenever we go into a big outing like that
41:49we should be able to enjoy a carnival just like everyone else but we can't
41:53i don't feel safe yeah i hate it over here
41:58hi there welcome home proposal came in for elizabeth's wedding i gotta sit down for this
42:05one it's a lot more than what we will be able to do if we could talk to elizabeth and
42:13bryce
42:13and see you could at least cut 35 percent and it not completely change the look of the wedding
42:21this is a lot to have to cut from the wedding budget and hopefully you know elizabeth doesn't freak out
